This thesis examines several aspects of the debate on the choice of best firstline treatment for infantile spasms. The first part of the thesis describes, analyses and interprets outcomes from the United Kingdom Infantile Spasms Study (UKISS), a multicentre randomised controlled trial that compares treatment with prednisolone or tetracosactide (hormonal treatments) against vigabatrin. Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) can be used to assist patients with complete paraplegia arising from a traumatic spinal cord injury to stand. In clinical practice the take-up of this technology is poor. It was hypothesised that one potential reason was that the posture during standing was difficult to predict from non-standing biomechanical measures because of the spinal cord's motor responses to standing. My dissertation investigates Thucydides’ presentation of Sparta. By viewing the war through Sparta, one is confronted with debates on the moral dimensions of war. Sparta decries the imperialism of Athens as unjust and while the Athenians imply that such claims are merely Spartan ‘hypocrisy’ and therefore that Sparta does not truly take justice seriously, my study contends that the Spartan concern with justice and piety is genuine. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka för vilka byggen det är mer ekonomiskt lönsamt för leverantör av prefabelement att använda sig utav engångsskiva eller formplyfa som formmaterial. I uppdrag av UBAB har en undersökning gjorts om vilket formmaterial som är det lönsammare alternativet vid produktion av trappor. Detta har gjorts genom att analysera processernas tidåtgång, materialkostnad samt totalkostnad. Arbetssätten skiljer sig mellan de olika formmaterialen och därför har arbetsmomentet kartlagts genom tidsstudier för indata och observationer för ytterligare förståelse om processerna.
