Abstract:
Hubach, Gomez, Hardt and Nadel (2007) provided the first demonstration of reconsolidation of episodic memory in humans. Memory for a set of20 objects was modified by the presentation of a new set of 20 objects if and only if participants were reminded of the first learning episode before learning the new set. Hupbach, Hardt, Gomez and Nadel (200S) then explored the importance of spatial context in the reminder condition. A bimodal split between participants in memory updating occurred when they were brought to a different context for Session 3. The present study investigates this bimodal split

Unilateral neglect, a common consequence of a stroke, involves a difficulty with detecting and responding to contralesional stimuli. It has been shown to be a heterogeneous syndrome, involving a cluster of deficits in both spatial and nonspatial functions. One of the most intriguing features of neglect is the widely observed hemisphere lateralisation of the disorder. Neglect is mor

The way humans visualize and interact with visual data affects how that data is processed. The current most prevalent paradigm for displaying visual content is a two dimensional display that suffers from a number of shortcomings. One shortcoming is that the display is a flat 2D display. As such, displaying collections of images that have been acquired from widely differing viewpoints becomes a challenge. With the pervasiveness of cameras, there is an abundance of these collections of images. These images are mostly stored and displayed as disparate images, and the information that they sh

Abstract:
Comparative research on event memory has typically focused on the binding of spatial and temporal information in memory, but much less is known about how animals remember information about the source of their memories (i.e., whether the event is something they performed themselves or whether they observed it). The purpose of the present study was to examine how rhesus monkeys (n = 8) and 3- to 4- year-old children (n = 20) remember this information along with other relevant event features (object identity, spatial location, temporal properties and contextual features) in working memory.

This thesis focus on the presentation of the filmic room the viewer sees in George A. Romero´s three horror classics Night, Dawn and Day of the Dead. The hypothesis goes as follow; fear and element of tension becomes greater if the audience/viewer has a good knowledge about the filmic room in the film, in other words, a good spatial awareness. The conclusion is that it does. The environment is active in its becoming and in its presentation to the viewer. Rooms and places, even objects, is a catalyst and a mean to create emotion. To tackle the problem regards to human emotion, which is highly s

Abstract:
Recent years have seen a rapid growth in movement research owing to new technologies contributing to the miniaturization and reduced costs of tracking devices. Similar trends have occurred in how environmental data are being collected (e.g., through satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles, and sensor networks). However, the development of analytical techniques for movement research has failed to keep pace with the data collection advances. There is a need for new methods capable of integrating increasingly detailed movement data with a myriad of contextual data - termed context aware movement ana
