Abstract:
Web technologies are becoming increasingly useful with new features and the gap to native apps is narrowing. Recently, IndexedDB was added to the web standard to provide large scale storage solutions directly in the browser. Is it performant enough to be used with a spatial database? In this study, such a system is developed for Foran Sverige AB and we learn that IndexedDB indeed can be used for this purpose. Even storage demanding geospatial applications can be developed as a multi- platform system with a single codebase, all while broadening the possible audience reach by avoiding an app ins

Abstract:
Spatial data management within the environmental field has a large range of application possibilities and comes with great advantages. In this study methods and technologies for spatial data management of soil contamination has been assessed in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), in order to identify in which way spatial data applications and tools can contribute with valuable information for these type of projects. The spatial assessment has been applied on a case study site in Kagghamra, Stockholm, exposed to high levels of contaminants, arsenic in particular. Subjects that have been eva

This master thesis deals with the design and creation of a geographic information system focusing on cyclists. For the purpose of this thesis was processed southern part of the Znojmo wine trail. GIS will be used for display during route according to various criteria and interesting tourist destinations that are located on the route. The individual objects photographs were taken and information collected in the field. Cyclists GIS was created in ArcGIS 10.1 for Desktop from ESRI, which allows to perform analysis of these data.

Spatial Statistical Analysis (SSA) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) are instrumental in many areas of geographical study. However, their use tends to be separate one from another. This has prevented their potential in many application areas from being realised. This research is an attempt to bring the two technologies together for a specific application area - health research. There are two research objectives. The first and main objective is to construct a software package - SAGE - by integrating necessary SSA techniques with ARC/INFO, a GIS, to enable the user to undertake a cohere

Many of the ongoing activities towards establishing SDI on a regional, national, and international level are focused on data sharing and dissemination. Next to data access and visualisation, data processing is a third important pillar of GIS which can generate new insights by creating derived data or conducting computational analyses on original data sets. Within today’s largely data-centric SDI, two major challenges were identified that stand in the way of ubiquitous geoprocessing: The ability to use and exchange implementations of geoprocessing functions as freely as geographic data and the
