Abstract:
Stochastic delay differential equations naturally arise in models of complex natural phenomena, yet continue to resist efforts to find analytical solutions to them: general solutions are limited to linear systems with additive noise and a single delayed term. In this work we solve the case of distributed delays in linear systems with additive noise. Key to our solution is the development of a consistent interpretation for integrals over stochastic variables, obtained by means of a virtual discretization procedure. This procedure makes no assumption on the form of noise, and would likely be use

Supersymmetric gauge theories are among the most important objects of study in modern theoretical physics. They are considered as more symmetric versions of gauge theories describing the real world and are often dual to string theories in curved backgrounds. In planar limit some supersymmetric gauge theories | N = 4 SYM and ABJM theory among them | manifest integrability, a property which might allow to solve them exactly. In this thesis we discuss application of integrability methods to spectral problems in supersymmetric gauge theories. Our main topic is the Quantum Spectral Curve (QSC) meth

The spectral distribution function of random matrices is an information-carrying object widely studied within Random matrix theory. In this thesis we combine the results of the theory together with the idea of free independence introduced by Voiculescu (1985). Important theoretical part of the thesis consists of the introduction to Free probability theory, which justifies use of asymptotic freeness with respect to particular matrices as well as the use of Stieltjes and R-transform. Both transforms are presented together with their properties. The aim of thesis is to point out characterizations

Abstract:

Such a spectrum has wide application in oceanography, including the optimal design of observational strategy for the deployment of floats, the study of Lagrangian statistics and the estimate of uncertai
