Abstract:
Tilapia protein hydrolysates (TPH) were obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis of tilapia meat using papain, and then the TPH binded with copper at various mass ratios of TPH to CuCl2 (5:1, 10:1 and 20:1) to obtain complex I, complex II and complex III, respectively. The copper-binding rate, antioxidant properties, and FTIR spectrum of the complex were investigated. It was found that the copper-binding rate increased with the increase of mass ratios (TPH/CuCl2) from 5:1 to 20:1. The DPPH radical scavenging activity and reducing power activity of TPH were higher than that of the complexes. However, t

We achieved the photon-gated holeburning in a system containing the electron acceptor (p-hydroxybenzaldhyde (PHBA)) and the electron donor (Zn-tetraphenylbenzoporphyrin (Zn-TPBP) doped in a matrix (poly-methylmethacrylate (PMMA) ) [1-3]. In this paper, we will report the single photon holeburning at 25K in p- tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) embedded in the matrix of polymethylcellulose. The mechanisms of holeburning and holefilling are discussed.

Abstract:
We have reported the incorporation of the photochemical hole-burning (PHB) dyes to the silica gels and the observation of spectral holes [1-3]. The porphyrins are well-known PHB dyes. However, in acidic solutions, many porphyrins change their forms into dication which is inactive in PHB [4]. So we have developed two-step sol-gel processes from the hydrolysis of TMOS with NaOH, and successfully incorporated free-base TPPS, a kind of porphyrin, in the silica gels [5].

Abstract:
Insulin is a hormone that is produced in pancreas. It is important for regulation of blood sugar level. The active form of insulin is monomer which contains 51 amino acids in two peptide chains. Currently, improvement of insulin production was done by using recombinant DNA technology in bacteria and yeasts. The obtained recombinant insulin is easier to be purified than the pancreatic insulin. This research has been using the recombinant yeast, Pichia pastoris KM71H (TP1), which has a cassette of monomeric insulin precursor (MIP) to produce recombinant MIP. The recombinant MIP was induced to be

Abstract:
This research was aimed to develop an active film from chitosan film incorporated with green tea extract to enhance antioxidant and antimicrobial properties in order to be used for food shelf life extension. The experiments were divided into 3 parts. Firstly, chitosan-based film preparation and modification were determined. The results suggested that the optimum chitosan films could be prepared from 2% chitosan in 1% acetic acid. However, the chitosan film was brittle and had low flexibility. Mechanical property of chitosan film was modified by adding different concentrations of glycerol, as a
