We explored the relations between task difficulty and speech time in picture description tasks. Six native speakers of Mandarin Chinese (CH group) and six native speakers or Indo-European languages (IE group) produced quick and accurate verbal descriptions of pictures in a self-paced manner. The pictures always involved two objects, a plate and one of the three objects (a stick, a fork, or a knife) located and oriented differently with respect to the plate in different trials. An index of difficulty was assigned to each picture. CH group showed lower reaction time and much lower speech time. S

The goals of this study are to investigate, at three elementary school grade levels, how word reading speed is related to rapidly naming series of numbers, letters, colors, and pictures, and to general processing speed (measured by nonnaming or visual matching tasks), and also to determine how these relationships vary with the reading task employed. The results indicate that, compared to color- and picture-naming speeds and nonnaming or visual matching speed, letter- and number-naming speeds are superior predictors of word reading speed. Statistical analysis of reaction time data revealed that color affected speed of naming only when the vocabulary level of the picture was within the developmental range of the child. In the actual environment, there are difficult points such as complicated mechanical system fault types, random fault locations, and inconspicuous minor fault signals, which make it difficult to accurately diagnose faults. This paper proposes a new method for fault diagnosis of an adaptive multisensor bearing-gear system based on GAF/MTF (Gramian angular fields and Markov transition fields) and ResNet (deep residual network). First, we establish a multisensor signal acquisition system to monitor the running signals of the bearing-gearbox composite test bench in real time. Faulty parts include

In face recognition there are two commonly used open-source libraries namely Dlib and OpenCV. Analysis of facial recognition algorithms is needed as reference for software developers who want to implement facial recognition features into an application program. From Dlib algorithm to be analyzed is CNN and HoG, from OpenCV algorithm is DNN and HAAR Cascades. These four algorithms are analyzed in terms of speed and accuracy. The same image dataset will be used to test, along with some actual images to get a more general analysis of how algorithm will appear in real life scenarios. The programmi

Abstract: We present an extensive strategy for improving images using deep learning-based techniques, concentrating onsuperresolution (SR) and low-light image improvement utilizing generative adversarial networks (GANs) and misalignment-robust networks (MIRNet), respectively. During the SGAN training phase, a deep convolution neural network learns a complete link between low- and high-resolution pictures. AbstractFitting a spike on a blunt body provides a drag reduction at supersonic and hypersonic speeds. In this study, the laminar flow over a spiked, conical body terminated by a spherical cap, inspired by the Apollo re-entry capsule design, was investigated using a hypersonic wind tunnel. Schlieren pictures revealed the absence of flow unsteadiness for the range of spike lengths tested, and force measurements showed a maximum reduction of 77% of the unspiked body drag.A simple theoretical model based on the pressure drag generated by a solid cone showed good agreement with the experimental da
