Abstract:
According to the experience of traffic accident investigation over the years, the pointer of some crashed vehicles’ speedometer will stay in one place because of collision spread or heavily vibration, which may indicate the vehicle collision speed. However, the correlation between the residual speed value and actual vehicle collision speed still remains to be examined. For the practical needs of traffic accident reconstruction, this research work is carried out. Based on the principles of traditional speedometers, vehicle impact mechanics and failure mechanism, the damage and failure mode of s

This classroom presentation is designed to introduce and interpret the graphical representation of a Tonka® toy truck's forward and backward motion. It can be used to illustrate an application of slope in an algebra class or to introduce the derivative in a calculus class. In the presentation, the teacher moves the Tonka® truck up and down on the chalkboard using chalk to record the motion, asks students questions about the motion, and encourages discussion. The class is asked to pretend that the toy truck has a speedometer. Unlike speedometers in real trucks, this toy speedometer has negative

Abstract:
The data that a farebox-based system can provide—boardings by route, direction, time of day, trip, stop, and fare category for day of the year—can be of immense value for planning, scheduling, marketing, and operations monitoring. For the most part, boarding information is being captured by an electronic device (the farebox), but for various reasons, much of that information is lost, and the data quality is often suspect. Integration with other on-board devices could enhance the quality and value of farebox data. For good-quality data segmentation, integration with the head-sign is important.

Abstract:
A device, which can be called locomotive speedometer, is discussed. Its main controller is STC89C58RC, USB interface chip is CH376S, display is LCD12864, clock chip is DS1302, and its memory is AT24C64. The result shows that the speedometer can show the corresponding information such as speed, time and date, store the messages in the memory, and transmit them to the USB Flash Drive correctly. Its parameters can be set easily though the keys if necessary. The locomotive speedometer has been applied on coal mine locomotives successfully.

This thesis deals with a design of speedometer for sportsmen, which is able to display current speed and to record a trip. The proposed parts are small enough. That's why sportsman won't be bothered much. The GPS is used for measurement of speed and to determine position. A strip, which consists of LED diodes, is used for speed displaying. The strip is situated in a sportsman's glasses. A trip is recorded to a MultiMediaCard. The FAT file system is used on the memory card.
