Abstract:

Abstract:
This paper has touched one of the most critical area affected due to pandemic situation created by the COVID-19 and its powerful spillover effect on education sector by customizing education pedagogy. Earlier researchers have studied online education separately, whereas this paper discussed the natural transition and systematic review of upsurge of e-learning. The objective of this paper is to make the systematic review of COVID spillover and transition towards e-learning education pedagogy through theoretical framework. The study makes systematic review of switchover towards e-learning and spillover effect of COVID-19 and customization of the education pedagogy. In this study, past literature has been utilized to make critical analysis of spillover effect of COVID-19 and impact on education pedagogy by creation of prepositions. The findings of the study reveal that in the exceptional circumstances of COVID-19, e-learning transition has taken place from conventional to e-learning modules. All over the world, countries have shifted towards online education by schooling out but classes in campaign ignited by Chinese government. The same has also been replicated in other countries of the world during COVID-19.

Abstract:
Abstract An HPLC separation method combined with fluorometric detection was extended to enable simultaneous assessment of plasma 3H-labeled and endogenous epinephrine (E) and norepinephrine (NE). Forearm fractional extraction (FFE) of 3H-labeled E and NE and of endogenous E was measured in 40 healthy volunteers who were receiving a continuous infusion of 3H-labeled E and NE. Concentrations of arterial and venous E were 26.8 +/- 1.95 (mean +/- SE) and 6.8 +/- 0.75 ng/L, respectively. Arterial and venous NE and dopamine (DA) were also measured, with respective values of 140.7 +/- 8.5 and 192.1 +/- 15.1 for NE, and 13.1 +/- 0.78 and 11.3 +/- 0.70 ng/L for DA. The FFE of 3H-labeled E was slightly but significantly higher (0.790 +/- 0.016) than the that of either 3H-labeled NE or endogenous E (0.748 +/- 0.0146 and 0.745 +/- 0.0185, respectively; P < 0.001), the correlations being highly significant (r = 0.80, P < 0.001) in both cases. The small difference between the FFE of E and of 3H-labeled E allows the calculation of the apparent spillover of E. However, this spillover was negligible compared with forearm NE spillover (0.0112 +/- 0.0031 vs 1.369 +/- 0.128 ng/L per minute. The high sensitivity of this measurement of venous E widens the possibilities for studying E kinetics under physiological conditions.

Abstract:
In recent years, many manufacturers have been selling their products to online consumers through e-tailers by adopting reselling mode and agency selling mode simultaneously. The sales from the online channels inevitably incur spillover effect to the traditional offline channels. This paper develops a dynamic pricing game model on the basis of a long-term gradient adjustment mechanism for a multichannel supply chain that consists of a manufacturer and an e-tailer and focuses on examining the impacts of spillover effect, agency fee, and adjustment speed on the stability and complexity of the dynamic game system. The results show that both a greater spillover effect and a higher agency fee can make the dynamic game system more stable, and a higher adjustment speed can destabilize the dynamic game system through period doubling bifurcation. Furthermore, it is interesting to find that the destabilization of the game system benefits the e-tailer and the supply chain while having little influence on the manufacturer, and thus the dynamic adjustment strategy may improve the supply chain efficiency.

Abstract:
This paper used the sectional data of Chinese counties to analyze the spatial distribution characteristics of sustainable development of e-commerce for agricultural products in China at the county-level. The standard deviation ellipses and Moran’s index were used to research this subject. Then, by constructing spatial measurement models, the spatial spillover effects and influencing factors of the development of county-level agricultural products e-commerce were analyzed from economic development, economic structure, economic vitality, and agricultural development. The results show that: (1) the top 100 counties of agricultural products e-commerce mainly concentrate in southeastern China, spreading along the northeast and southwest; (2) the county-level agricultural products e-commerce shows significant negative spatial spillover effects; (3) the level of economic development and public services have a positive impact on the development of county-level agricultural products e-commerce, while the level of industrial development shows a negative correlation; (4) the level of agricultural development and industrial development have a significant negative external effect on the development of agricultural products e-commerce. This study is of great significance to promote the sustainable development of agricultural products e-commerce, the process of rural urbanization and the optimization of county industrial patterns.

Abstract:
Abstract As China is the largest importer of wastepaper in the world and is highly dependent on the international market, the relationship between the Chinese and international wastepaper markets affects the stability of both markets. The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of China's newly implemented wastepaper polices on the degree of integration between the Chinese and international wastepaper markets and analyze the dynamics of the relationship between the two markets over time. We developed both the static and dynamic total spillover indices to analyze the degree of integration in average and in time-varying perspectives and performed E-Divisive with Medians (EDM) on the dynamic total spillover index to evaluate the impacts of the new policies. The results revealed that the Chinese and international wastepaper markets were integrated. The calculated dynamic total spillover index varied widely during the studied period and presented an overall declining trend, indicating that these policies have disrupted the integration relationship between the two markets. The results of EDM detected structural breaks in the dynamic spillover index due to the new policies, further confirming and describing the negative impacts of the new policies on the integration relationship between the two markets. Since mutual dependence exists between the Chinese and international wastepaper markets, the interventions on the integration relationship have led to dramatic fluctuations and expanding price differences between the two markets, imposing risks and uncertainties on the stable development of China's paper industry and the global recycling industry.

We present in this study the results of volatility spillover in the Brazilian stock market, measured by conditional correlations. Using GARCH multivariate conditional correlations were estimated at 3 different models combining the Ibovespa index of the three types of exchange rate shocks and a shock of international financial markets. The existence and direction of spillovers of volatility of forward exchange shocks, international financial market shocks and the Ibovespa were tested by Granger causality test of second order. The results show the existence of spillovers from exchange rate shocks and financial markets for the Ibovespa index, and these correlations have temporal dynamics, with spillovers always in the direction of the shocks to the Ibovespa index.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT This study examines the externalities of mandatory IFRS adoption on firms' investment efficiency in 17 European countries. We use the ROA difference between the firm and its peers to proxy for the information on the peers' investment performance. We find that the spillover effect of a firm's ROA difference versus its foreign peers, but not domestic peers, on the firm's investment efficiency increases after IFRS adoption. We also find that increased disclosure by both foreign and domestic peers after IFRS adoption has a spillover effect on a firm's investment efficiency. Further, a firm's investment changes induced by its ROA difference versus foreign peers are more value-relevant after IFRS adoption, and those induced by increased disclosure by foreign peers under IFRS are value-relevant. Additional analyses reveal that our results are affected by legal enforcement strength, peer composition, and industry competition. Overall, we document positive externalities of mandatory IFRS adoption. Data Availability: Data are available from commercial providers (Worldscope, DataStream, and I/B/E/S).

Abstract:
Irrational antibiotic usage not only causes an increase in antibiotic-borne diseases, but also inflicts pain on patients, as a result of inappropriate treatment. In order to resolve the hazards caused by irrational antibiotic usage, a kind of e-health service, the Rational Antibiotic Use System (RAUS), has been incorporated into the hospital information system. The RAUS provides doctors and patients with the functions of antibiotic usage monitoring, antibiotic information consultation and antibiotic prescription support. Though existing literature has already proved the usefulness of the RAUS on monitoring doctors’ behavior, the effects on hospital performance from an organizational perspective has rarely been measured by empirical data. Therefore, our study has explored the effects of the RAUS on the performance of a large Chinese hospital, which has implemented the RAUS since March 2014. Through empirical research, we quantified the effects of the implementation of the RAUS on a hospital’s performance from both the direct effects on the “drug income” and the spillover effect on the “treatment income”. The results indicate a significant positive spillover effect on the treatment incomes of a hospital in its inpatient activities (seen as significant in the long term) and in its outpatient activities (seen as significant in both the short and long terms). In addition, this research provides certain theoretical and practical implications for the dilemma of e-health services application in irrational antibiotic usage.

O objetivo deste artigo é testar o papel do regulador no combate a infrações ambientais no Brasil.

Hepatitis E virus (HEV), a major cause of acute hepatitis worldwide, infects approximately 20 million individuals annually. HEV can infect a wide range of mammalian and avian species, and cause frequent zoonotic spillover, increasingly raising public health concerns. To establish a successful infection, HEV needs to usurp host machineries to accomplish its life cycle from initial attachment to egress. However, relatively little is known about the HEV life cycle, especially the functional role(s) of cellular organelles and their associated proteins at different stages of HEV infection. Here, we summarize current knowledge regarding the relation of HEV with the different cell organelles during HEV infection. Furthermore, we discuss the underlying mechanisms by which HEV infection is precisely regulated in infected cells and the modification of host cell organelles and their associated proteins upon HEV infection.

Abstract:
Using the 2002-2012 National Latino Surveys, we assess whether enforcement of immigration law through employment verification (E-Verify) mandates has affected perceptions of discrimination among Hispanic citizens—a group that is clearly authorized to work. E-Verify could adversely affect Hispanic citizens if employers avoid hiring Hispanics for fear they could be found ineligible through this program. We find, instead, that naturalized Mexicans perceive less employment discrimination after E-Verify is mandated. Perhaps, the program provides employers with an unobtrusive mechanism to ascertain work eligibility of prospective employees, avoiding more arbitrary screening. Nonetheless, naturalized Mexicans in E-Verify states are more likely to perceive that discrimination is getting in the way of Latinos’ success than their counterparts in other states. While this sentiment precedes the implementation of E-Verify and cannot be attributed to the mandates, its recognition is important because of its spillover effects on self-esteem, life dissatisfaction, and social cohesiveness.

Abstract:
With the development of digital technologies such as the Internet and digital industries such as e-commerce, the digital economy has become a new form of economic and social development, which has brought forth a new perspective for environmental governance, energy conservation, and emission reduction. Based on data from 30 Chinese provinces from 2011 to 2018, this study applies the space and threshold models to empirically examine the digital economy’s influence on haze pollution and its spatial spillover. Furthermore, it investigates the spatial diffusion effect of regional digital economic development and haze pollution by constructing a spatial weight matrix. Subsequently, an instrumental variable robustness test is performed. Results indicate the following: (1) Haze pollution has spatial spillover effects and high emission aggregation characteristics, with haze pollution in neighbouring provinces significantly aggravating pollution levels in the focal province. (2) China’s digital economy has positively impacted haze pollution, with digital economic development having a significant effect (i.e., most prominent in eastern China) on reducing haze pollution. (3) Changing the energy structure and supporting innovation can restrain haze pollution, and the digital economy can reduce the path mechanism of haze pollution through the mediating effect of an advanced industrial structure. It shows a non-linear characteristic that the influence of haze reduction continues to weaken. Thus, policymakers should include the digital economy as a mechanism for ecologically sustainable development in haze pollution control.

Abstract:
Broadband networks can play a special role as "general purpose technologies" that enable or facilitate the use of other Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), including a plethora of internet-based services, such as e-commerce, e-government, e-learning or social media. Due to the better quality and availability of statistical data, most empirical studies on the economic effects of broadband have focused on their impact on growth, employment and productivity in developed countries. In this study, we set out the reasons why these economic effects should also be relevant for developing countries and examine the potential advantages of increasing broadband take-up. To analyze the significance of broadband for economic development, we specify and estimate an econometric model for nine South American countries, for which relatively high quality data was available. According to our results, increased broadband penetration is associated with significant "spillover" effects, excess societal returns over and above the expected returns of other investments in physical capital.

This study is to examine the three theme of the eπiciency of Korea foreign exchange market including the unbiasedness testing, the relative efficiency estimates, and the information spillover efficiency. Data using the analysis 81’e won-dollar spot and futures in domestic and won-dollar forward in offshore. i.e.. New York and Singapore NDF (non-delivery forward). The empirical results are summarized as follows: First. the efficient market or unbiasedness expectations hypothesis is not rejected in the won-dollar currency futures market apart from offshore New York and Singapore NDF markets. This indicates that the won-dollar futures price is likely to be an accurate indicator of future won-dollar spot prices without the trader having to pay a risk premium for the privilege of trading the contract. Second. the findings suggest the domestic won-dollar futures market is 13.58% efficient. the Singapore offshore won-dollar NDF market is 11.38% efficient. and the New York offshore won-dollar NDF market is 2.68% efficient. This indicates that the domestic won-dollar futures market is more efficient than the offshore won-dollar NDF market. It is therefore possible to conclude that the domestic currency futures price is a relatively successful predictor of the future spot price. Third. the findings suggest the information spillover exists between domestic won-dollar spot/futures market and offshore won-dollar New York NDF market in both direction. This indicates that the two markets are efficiently linked.

Abstract:
Distance and space are important factors affecting international trade, but they have different effects on cross-border e-commerce (CBE) due to the creation of the Internet. This study utilizes spatial autocorrelation, the multi-dimension gravity model and the Spatial Durbin model to conduct an comparative analysis of international trade and CBE within one-belt one-road (BR) countries. Our study obtained several key findings. Firstly, the spatial autocorrelation effect which exists in international trade does not exist in CBE. Secondly, the geographical distance effect of CBE is not significant, which is different from that of international trade. Thirdly, CBE is affected by GDP, culture, policy and institution distances which is not entirely consistent with international trade. Finally, the Spatial Durbin model shows that the spillover effect of CBE and international trade are both significant in the inverse distance weight matrix. These findings provide not only important theoretical contributions but also a practical guide for Government policy makers of the BR and CBE.

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to explore the present COVID-19 crisis, which has affected fast-fashion. Global fast-fashion consumers have lost hope to revamp their wardrobe due to the broken supply chain network and the fear to visit the stores for purchase. The research intends to provide a detailed framework for the fast-fashion brands to strategically plan for post-COVID-19 business normality leading to sustainability. For the development of the model, careful investigation of the articles was carried out. This research is purely qualitative in nature depending on secondary data.In the post-COVID-19, the e-commerce industry will boom and those fast-fashion brands, which are already in the e-commerce platform, have to know the Percentage of Concentration (POC) in which they have to concentrate so that there are no wastages and spillover effects. Hence, marketing agility and e-commerce agility becomes the foundation for fast-fashion brands if it has to recapture its leadership position in the post COVID-19 pandemic. Fast-fashions have to follow the art of rethinking to replan and reimplement new strategies to revamp the business.

Abstract:
The potential broad market of green consumption has encouraged an increasing number of enterprises to carry out green technology innovation activities. This paper examines a two-stage supply chain of e-commerce sales channels under different cooperative models. We find that consumers’ green preferences are the main factor that affects green product market demand. The manufacturer and the retailer can raise the levels of green technology innovation and extend green promotional services to expand product market demand in online and offline channels. However, consumers’ e-commerce preferences and online free-riding behaviors affect the manufacturer’s sales channel choice. The retailer can improve the level of green promotional services to hold offline channel market demand, while promotional behaviors have a positive/negative spillover effect on online market demand if the level of free riding falls above/below consumers’ e-commerce preferences. The higher the cooperative level is, the later the manufacturer will open the online channel and close the offline channel to ensure a high level of green promotional service from the cooperative retailer. The results show that the stronger the level of cooperation among all members is, the better the economic, ecological, and social benefits will be. Therefore, we design a revenue-cost sharing contract that can effectively motivate green technology innovation and green promotional services and afford all members win-win profits.

Plasma epinephrine (E) and norepinephrine (NE) concentrations were measured (radioenzymatic assay) in blood samples simultaneously withdrawn from the aorta (Ao) and coronary sinus (CS) on 10 anesthetized dogs immediately before and during a 1-min period of electrical stimulation of the left stellate ganglion (4 V, 4 ms, 10 Hz). Heart rate and systolic blood pressure significantly increased in response to electrical stimulation (152 +/- 8 to 180 +/- 15 beats/min and 128 +/- 12 to 149 +/- 12 mmHg, mean +/- SE; P less than 0.05). Plasma NE concentrations were not significantly different in the Ao and the CS (432 +/- 110 and 319 +/- 67 pg/ml) before the stimulation, whereas a net removal of E was present across the myocardium (Ao, 172 +/- 61; CS, 71 +/- 22 pg/ml). A large NE spillover in the CS was observed during the stimulation (Ao, 1,555 +/- 513; CS, 10,583 +/- 3,753 pg/ml). A significant output of E from the myocardium was also present (Ao, 165 +/- 42; CS, 291 +/- 74 pg/ml) during the stimulation. Determination of NE and E concentrations by high-performance liquid chromatography in five of the dogs confirmed the observation made with the radioenzymatic assay, i.e., a significant uptake (66%) of blood-borne E was present across the myocardium in the control situation (Ao, 320 +/- 97; CS, 110 +/- 23 pg/ml), whereas plasma E concentrations in the CS (280 +/- 61 pg/ml) were 1.5 times the values found in Ao (184 +/- 56 pg/ml) under electrical stimulation. These observations give further support to the hypothesis that endogenous tissue E can act as a cotransmitter of sympathetic fibers.

Abstract:
Abstract The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) can respond to a civil conflict only if that conflict first enters the Council's agenda. Some conflicts reach the Council's agenda within days after they start, others after years (or even decades), and some never make it. So far, only a few studies have looked at the crucial UNSC agenda-setting stage, and none have examined agenda-setting speed. To fill this important gap, we develop and test a novel theoretical framework that combines insights from realist and constructivist theory with lessons from institutionalist theory and bargaining theory. Applying survival analysis to an original dataset, we show that the parochial interests of the permanent members (P-5) matter, but they do not determine the Council's agenda-setting speed. Rather, P-5 interests are constrained by normative considerations and concerns for the Council's organizational mission arising from the severity of a conflict (in terms of spillover effects and civilian casualties); by the interests of the widely ignored elected members (E-10); and by the degree of preference heterogeneity among both the P-5 and the E-10. Our findings contribute to a better understanding of how the United Nations (UN) works, and they have implications for the UN's legitimacy.

Abstract:
Environmentally friendly shared transit systems have become ubiquitous at present. As a result, analyzing the ranges and tracts of human activities and gatherings based on bike share data is scientifically useful. This paper investigates the spatial and temporal travel characteristics of citizens based on real-time-extracted electric bikes (e-bikes) Global Positioning System (GPS) data from May to July in 2018 in the central area of Tengzhou City, Shandong Province, China. The research is conducive for the exploration of citizens’ changes in mobility behaviors, for the analysis of relationships between mobility changes and environmental or other possible factors, and for advancing policy proposals. The main conclusions of the study are as follows. First, in general, citizens’ travelling is featured by rides that are less than 10 min, shorter than 5 km, and with a speed between 5 km/h and 20 km/h. Second, in terms of temporal characteristics, monthly e-bike usage and citizens’ mobility are positively correlated with temperature in May and negatively correlated with temperature in July; an overall negative correlation is also manifested between the e-bike usage (mobility) and air quality index; daily usage reaches a trough on Tuesday and a peak on Friday, indicating the extent of mobility on respective days; e-bike usage and human outdoor behaviors are significantly lowered in rainy weather than in sunny weather; hourly rides reach a peak at 18:00 (more human activities) and a trough at 2:00 (less activities), and average hourly riding speed maximizes at 5:00 and minimizes around 8:00 and 17:00. Third, for spatial characteristics, destinations (D points) during morning rush hour and regions where e-bikes are densely employed are concentrated mainly in mid-north and middle parts of the central area (major human gatherings), and the rides have a diffusing pattern; e-bike origin–destination (O–D) trajectories radiate mostly towards the mid-north and the east during evening rush hour. In addition, 9.4% of the total trips to work areas during morning rush hour represent spillover commuting, indicating that separations between jobs and residential are not severe in the central area of Tengzhou City and commuting is relatively convenient.

Abstract:
We investigated temporal trends of codon usage changes for different host species to determine their importance in Zika virus (ZIKV) evolution. Viral spillover resulting from the potential of codon adaptation to host genome was also assessed for the African genotype ZIKV in comparison to the Asian genotype. To improve our understanding on its zoonotic maintenance, we evaluated in vitro the biological properties of the African genotype ZIKV in vertebrate and mosquito cell lines. Analyses were performed in comparison to Yellow fever virus (YFV). Despite significantly lower codon adaptation index trends than YFV, ZIKV showed evident codon adaptation to vertebrate hosts, particularly for the green African monkey Chlorocebus aethiops. PCA and CAI analyses at the individual ZIKV gene level for both human and Aedes aegypti indicated a clear distinction between the two genotypes. African ZIKV isolates showed higher virulence in mosquito cells than in vertebrate cells. Their higher replication in mosquito cells than African YFV confirmed the role of mosquitoes in the natural maintenance of the African genotype ZIKV. An analysis of individual strain growth characteristics indicated that the widely used reference strain MR766 replicates poorly in comparison to African ZIKV isolates. The recombinant African Zika virus strain ArD128000*E/NS5 may be a good model to include in studies on the mechanism of host tropism, as it cannot replicate in the tested vertebrate cell line.

Abstract:
Aim/Purpose: To examine millennial satisfaction towards online food delivery services, including e-service quality, food quality, and perceived value as the determinants and behavioral intention as the consequence. Background: Among the generational cohorts, millennials are a demanding target group for many retailers, including restaurants. Despite many studies examining millennial behavior in the restaurant context, almost no research on millennial attitudes and behavior in the context of online food home delivery service can be found. Methodology: For this research, 332 millennials completed a self-administered survey in Indonesia. To assess the associations between satisfaction and its determinants and consequences, this study employs Partial Least Square modeling. Contribution: This research extends existing knowledge of millennial satisfaction toward online food delivery service by highlighting that food quality, e-service quality and perceived value are the main determinants of satisfaction for online food purchasing among millennials. Further, this study offers support for the spillover theory in the online food home delivery service from millennial perspective. Findings: This study uncovers the important direct dual influences of e-service quality and food quality on millennial satisfaction with online food delivery services. Further, this study notes that e-service and food quality also have an indirect influence on satisfaction via perceived value. Moreover, satisfied millennial customers are more likely to re-purchase, recommend to others, and re-purchase at an increased price. Recommendations for Practitioners: For small and medium restaurants, it is suggested that they need to focus solely on their core business of providing food. If they want to offer an e-service, they should develop strategic cooperation with one or more online service providers. Recommendation for Researchers: Millennials tend to repurchase, recommend, and be willing to pay more in the future extends the existing models that look at the associations among quality, satisfaction and behavioral intention. Thus, in online restaurant purchasing services, both e-service quality and food quality should be included in the future research models. Impact on Society: This study could help restaurant industries to increase their business performance and, indirectly, impact on society as a whole by providing high quality food, employment opportunities, and tax revenues. Future Research: Future researchers can reassess the model in different countries and/or with other generation cohorts as well as including other variables such as trust, image, involvement, as well as socio-demographic factors.

Abstract Le Quesne, W. J. F., and Codling, E. A. 2009. Managing mobile species with MPAs: the effects of mobility, larval dispersal, and fishing mortality on closure size. – ICES Journal of Marine Science, 66: 122–131. The use of closed areas (marine protected areas, marine reserves, no-take zones) has been suggested as a possible solution to the perceived global fisheries crisis. However, to optimize the design and evaluate the effectiveness of closed areas, we need to understand the interaction between larval dispersal, adult mobility, and fishing mortality. In this paper, a simple, spatially explicit dynamic population model was developed to examine the effects of these interacting factors on optimal closure size and resulting yields. The effect of using one large or several smaller closed areas was also examined. Our model confirmed previous results: closed areas do not improve the yield of populations that are optimally managed or underexploited and, as mobility increases, optimum closure size increases. The model also predicted some interesting counter-intuitive results; for overexploited stocks, the greatest benefit from closed areas can be obtained for stocks with highest mobility, although this may require closure of 85% of the total area. For the tested parameter settings, adult spillover had greater potential to improve yield than larval export, and using several small closed areas rather than a single larger one had the same effect as increasing the mobility of the population.

Abstract:
Background Cystic and alveolar echinococcosis (CE and AE) are neglected tropical diseases caused by Echinococcus granulosus sensu lato and E. multilocularis, and are emerging zoonoses in Kyrgyzstan. In this country, the spatial distribution of CE and AE surgical incidence in 2014-2016 showed marked heterogeneity across communities, suggesting the presence of ecological determinants underlying CE and AE distributions. Methodology/Principal findings For this reason, in this study we assessed potential associations between community-level confirmed primary CE (no.=2359) or AE (no.=546) cases in 2014-2016 in Kyrgyzstan and environmental and climatic variables derived from satellite-remote sensing datasets using conditional autoregressive models. We also mapped CE and AE relative risk. The number of AE cases was negatively associated with 10-year lag mean annual temperature. Although this time lag should not be considered as an exact measurement but with associated uncertainty, it is consistent with the estimated 10–15-year latency following AE infection. No associations were detected for CE. We also identified several communities at risk for CE or AE where no disease cases were reported in the study period. Conclusions/Significance Our findings support the hypothesis that CE is linked to an anthropogenic cycle and is less affected by environmental risk factors compared to AE, which is believed to result from spillover from a wild life cycle. As CE was not affected by factors we investigated, hence control should not have a geographical focus. In contrast, AE risk areas identified in this study without reported AE cases should be targeted for active disease surveillance in humans. This active surveillance would confirm or exclude AE transmission which might not be reported with the present passive surveillance system. These areas should also be targeted for ecological investigations in the animal hosts.

This research analysis of tourism competitiveness is based on the very high disparity problem in the condition of the tourism sector in East Java Province. With a sample of 10 districts / cities and using investment data, tourist visits, population, government spending and tourism sector PDRB, it is produced that investment and tourist visits have a positive but not significant effect on tourism sector PDRB because due to the probability > 0.05. While the population and government expenditure have a positive and significant effect on the tourism sector PDRB due to the probability < 0.05. Fixed effect models that are formed are:PSP = 39485712 + 0.018 INV + 0.389 TOURIST + 22.304 POP + 0.065 GEX + e To measure tourism competitiveness, it is used with technical efficiency and total factor productivity where it is produced: Sidoarjo Regency, Malang City and Surabaya City are regencies / cities that have the highest level of technical efficiency with a value of 100% technical efficiency. Whereas with the calculation of total factor productivity in Gresik Regency (21,350), Jember Regency (16,543) and Kediri Regency (15,650) are regencies / cities that have the highest productivity. Based on the calculation of technical efficiency and total factor productivity results are obtainedL1) High efficiency and productive, Jember Regency; (2) High efficiency and less productive, Sidoarjo Regency, Malang City and Surabaya City; (3) Low and productive efficiency, Kediri Regency, Lamongan Regency and Gresik Regency; and (4) Low efficiency and less productive, Banyuwangi Regency, Pasuruan Regency and Pasuruan City. The spillover effect occurs in Pasuruan City, where the economy of Pasuruan City is affected by investments from Sidoarjo Regency and Surabaya City as indicated by the significance level of 0.051 Surabaya City investment and 0.048 for Sidoarjo Regency investment which means smaller and equal to 0.05. The calculation of convergence shows that the average convergence of regencies / cities in East Java to leader regions over 15 years and 5 months means that districts / cities need an average of 15 years and 5 months to match the conditions of tourism in the city of Surabaya.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The main point of this work is to assess how a financial distress in return series of the major Brazilian companies assets and relevant domestic market (Ibovespa) and main international index (Dow Jones) interact with each other, in an attempt to capture spillover effects. We try to capture the systemic risk, the contagion effect and the stress test. This paper uses the methodology CoVaR, described in the Adrian and Brunnermeier (2011) which use quantile regression. The main innovation of this work is the construction and estimation of the contagion matrix to domestic capital market. The results show that there is no relationship between risk measurements given by Value at Risk (VaR) and CoVaR, moreover the systemic risk shows those assets that generate more negative externalities for the domestic financial market. The stress test indicates that a distress in domestic market indicator returns have more spillover effects on domestic papers than a distress in the international market returns. Finally, the contagion matrix reveals that the interrelationships of contagion between the firms’ returns are relevant sectorial evidence for assessment and management of risks.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Given this economic situation, the region of Agreste Central and Northern has attracted the attention because even not benefiting directly from such investments, it has presented a significant growth in recent years. One of the factors of this “success” of the region is the presence of productive agglomeration of clothing. Thus, the main objective of this study was to analyze the economic growth of the municipalities of this cluster in the period of 2000/2010, in the light of the theories of NGE. The database used was formed from the use of microdata of the 2000 and 2010 Demographic Census – to measure the moving average income of total employment – the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The information about the GDP growth and population were collected directly in IPEADATA site (2014). The collected data were properly collected through the use of descriptive statistics tools. The results suggest that there was in the agglomerate of Agreste Pernambucano Clothing (ACAP), in the period of 2000/2010, the presence of cumulative forces in the three main cities, the so-called ACAP core. These forces acted mainly on population attraction and generated spillover effects for many neighboring municipalities.<strong></strong></em></p><p><em>Keywords: Economic growth. Productive clusters. Abstract:
