Abstract The accompanying article by Jiang et al. (Am J Epidemiol. 2021;190(9):1830–1840) extends quantitative bias analysis from the realm of statistical models to the realm of machine learning algorithms. Given the rooting of statistical models in the spirit of explanation and the rooting of machine learning algorithms in the spirt of prediction, this extension is thought-provoking indeed. Some such thoughts are expounded upon here.

Zeytun toxumlarından (müxtəlif ölçülərdə və üyüdülmə dərəcələrində) əldə edilmiş nümunələri tədqiq etdik, həmçinin qabığı soyulmuş zeytun toxumlarından toz əldə etməyin yollarını müəyyənləşdirdik, sonra zeytunun yığılması və toxumların təmizlənməsi üçün ən vacib və uyğun təbii amilləri və vaxtları öyrəndik. Zeytun toxumları toz halına salınmış və sümüyə bərkimiş, sonra sınaq borularına qoyulmuş və həlledicilərlə doldurulmuşdur. Ən yaxşı nəticələri 2021-ci ilin ok-tyabr ayında Bakının Suraxanı rayonundan toplanmış zeytun toxumu tozundan müxtəlif həlledicilərlə (etil spirti və benzol) ekstraksiya edilmiş məhlullar göstərmişdir. Alınan konsentratlar qısa müddətdə təcrid olunmuş və təhlil edilmiş, həmçinin məhlulların optik sıxlığı (A) Lambert-Bouger-Beroscope (LBB) qanunundan istifadə etməklə UV spektroskopiyası ilə müəyyən edilmişdir. Ən yaxşı nəticəni ehtiva edən məhlulları öyrənərkən, həlledici kimi etanoldan istifadə edərək 3 q əzilmiş zeytun toxumu olan bir nümunə göstərildi. Konsentrasiya 1.3 qiymətini almışdır. Bu, spirt həlledici istifadə edərək əldə edilən ekoloji cəhətdən təmiz ən yaxşı göstəricidir. Aparılan işlərin nəticələrinə əsasən çıxarılan yağların və toz halında qalan zeytun qalıqlarının gələcəkdə mümkün istifadəsi üçün çıxarılması üsulları müəyyən edilmiş və göstəricilər öyrənilmişdir. Açar sözlər: zeytun toxumları; yağlar, optiki sıxlıq, spirt, benzol.

Abstract:

The article examines what are the essential characteristics of a person and his activities, such as spirit and spirituality. It is determined that the concept of «spirt» has a twofold meaning - in the case of direct correlation with a person, we are talking about it as an immanently inherent rational will that ensures the desire for transformation oneself and the world. If we talk about activity, then the spirit acts as its idea, that is, as something that does not allow us to reduce activity to simple functionality. In connection with the revealed dual possibility of the orientation of the spirit, spirituality is defined as the orientation of a person to the highest values, which are usually referred to as good, truth, beauty, freedom and justice, that is, what defines humanity in a person.

Penelitian ini membahas pelaksanaan program Pengabdian Masyarakat Mahasiswa (KKN) di STKIP Muhammadiyah Kuningan yang bertujuan memperkuat legitimasi Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di pedesaan. Fokus penelitian adalah penerapan langkah-langkah kunci dalam pendaftaran hukum usaha, seperti Nomor Induk Berusaha (NIB), SPIRT, dan sertifikasi halal. Melalui kolaborasi mahasiswa KKN dan pemangku kepentingan, pendekatan praktis diterapkan. Metode melibatkan sosialisasi, pelatihan, penyuluhan, dan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data melibatkan observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam peserta KKN, pemilik UMKM, serta analisis dokumen terkait proses pendaftaran dan sertifikasi. Hasil menunjukkan program KKN berkontribusi pada legalitas UMKM di desa. Melalui workshop UMKM, pemangku kepentingan dalam pendaftaran NIB, SPIRT, dan sertifikasi halal terlibat untuk memberi panduan langsung kepada pelaku usaha. Kolaborasi aktif mahasiswa KKN, UMKM, dan pemangku kepentingan memberi manfaat dalam memahami, mengakses, dan menerapkan proses hukum bisnis. Ini membantu UMKM mematuhi regulasi, mendukung pertumbuhan usaha berkelanjutan. Temuan berharga bagi lembaga pendidikan dan pemerintah dalam merancang program serupa mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal dengan memperkuat legalitas UMKM

Abstract:

This paper looks at the themes of nature, humanity, and military and industrial development in the nineteenth century American painter Winslow Homer through the lens of the Hegelian theory of art. Robert Pippin's After the Beautiful (2015) has recently put the Hegelian framework to very fruitful use in understanding pictorial modernism. This study of Homer follows a similar approach but argues that Homer's canvases represent a development in the modern spirt which, in many ways, goes beyond the canvases of Manet – a very tight modernist contemporary of Homer's. Homer communicates a presentment of the immense and, in certain profound respects, horrifying power of humanity's growing industrialization. I trace the development of this idea over the course of his career, from this early Civil War canvases to his final seascapes and argue that an understanding of Homer's work is important for understanding the modern spirit of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Abstract:

Much of the sapiential treatise Instruction (=4QInstruction) can be read as a systematic attempt to support one basic ideological principle: Each person has a divinely assigned share, and every interaction that requires mixing that share with other agents is a breach of the metaphysical order. This idea was first formulated with regard to Instruction by Menahem Kister. In the present article, I apply this notion to the prologue (preserved in 4Q416 1) and to the sections on family relations (parents, wife) in 4Q416. These latter cases explore the financial relations within a family and align them with the overall principle of Instruction. The various sections highlight the person’s spirit as a commodity, intertwined with the life and capital of that person. The literary focus is on the phenomenology of the spirt, as it shifts during various transactions. The biblical allusions in these sections are explained along the same line of argument.

If France is experiencing the same difficulties as other European countries when it comes to finding solutions for the financing of old age schemes, the coexistence of a multiplicity of schemes, with their own rules and a strong sense of corporatism, makes it even more difficult to undertake reforms when the idea is to reach the same solutions for everyone in a spirt of equality and unity. Since French old age schemes are mainly funded by social security contributions, the first reaction to reach sustainability was to implement new funding methods. İon-mübadilə metodundan istifadə olunmaqla NaX seoliti və La, Pd metalları əsasında kataliza-tor nümunələri sintez olunmuş və onların aktivliyi 423-723K temperatur intervalında n-propanolun oksidləşməsi prosesində tədqiq olunmuşdur. Müəyyən olunmuşdur ki, ilkin NaX nümunəsinə nisbətən modifikasiya olunmuş nümunələr üzərində spirtin çevrilmə dərəcəsi və reaksiya məhsul-larının çıxımı xeyli artır. Aparılmış tədqiqatlara əsasən müəyyən olunmuşdur ki, nisbətən kiçik temperaturlarda spirtin molekuldaxili və molekullararası dehidratlaşması reaksiyaları üstünlük təşkil etdiyi halda, temperaturun yüksək qiymətlərində onun parsial və tam oksidləşməsi reksiyaları sürətlənir. Müəyyən olunmuşdur ki, ilkin NaX seolitinin modifikasiya üsulu sintez olunmuş katali-zatorun faza tərkibini və aktiv komponentin ölçüsünü optimallaşdırmağa imkan verir ki, bu da əsas reaksiya məhsullarının çıxımını tənzimləməyə və reaksiyanın temperatur həddini aşağı salmağa im-kan verir. Abstract:

The system of administrative agreement is one of the important means of contemporary public administration. It is the integration of administrative power and contract spirt. The difference between administrative agreement and other administrative means is that the state can make the public administration objectives more specific in the form of administrative agreement, and tend to be legal, and stipulate the specific rights and obligations of both parties in the form of contract. The advantage of administrative agreement lies in the integration of right elements and contract spirit. Firstly, administrative agreement is an agreement reached by administrative organ and administrative counterpart through reasonable discussion; secondly, as the parties to the agreement, the administrative subject still maintains its original credibility to ensure the realization of its administrative purpose. Through the protection of the administrative agreement system, it is helpful to clarify the rights and obligations of both parties to the agreement, ensure the realization of the administrative objectives, and solve the problems. Based on the analysis of the problems existing in the current administrative agreement system, this paper proposes to standardize the scope of administrative agreement by administrative procedure, clarify the scope of administrative agreement and civil agreement by judicial interpretation, and restrict the exercise of priority, hoping to realize the value orientation of administrative agreement and protect the interests of the people through the above measures.

BACKGROUND In many rural communities, the cause of mental illness is attributed to black magic, spirit possession of past sin and the coastal region of Karnataka is not exempted from it. The natives of this region ascribe the cause of mental illness to the spirit or demigod, and they seek the help of traditional healers such as spirit dancers for the recovery. This help-seeking behaviour of the people results in delay in seeking psychiatry care and affects the recovery of the person with mental health problems. Therefore, this study explores the opinion of clients undergone traditional healing for mental health problems and the results of the study could contribute to planning an appropriate health promotion activity to promote community mental health. METHODS The present study was explorative, undertaken in the Udupi district of Karnataka state, which explores the views of the respondents about the cause of mental health problem and the outcome of traditional healing for their problems. Altogether 200 clients visiting traditional healers for mental health care were interviewed based on the snowball sampling technique and the interview schedule was used as a tool to gather the data. RESULTS Of the 200 respondents interviewed, 27.5 percent were adults (31 to 40 years), while 43.1 percent were unemployed. Black magic was found to be the major cause for mental health problems among 25.5 percent of the respondents; whereas, 26 percent of the respondents felt recovered completely after undergoing traditional healing for mental health problems. CONCLUSIONS The recognition of mental health problems is very much essential for people with mental health problems to seek professional help. This could help mental health professionals to diagnose illness at the very beginning and provide better mental health care. However, the explanatory model of the patients needs to be taken into consideration while providing modern medical care. Barley and maize have dominated the Irish whiskey sector, but in recent years, alternative grains have started to gain traction. Ireland has a high average wheat yield, producing grain that is high in starch but low in protein, offering the potential for use in distillation. To successfully utilise Irish-grown wheat in distillation, cultivars that are suitable to the Irish climate and give high yields of alcohol need to be identified. This necessitates the development of a rapid screening test for grain alcohol yield. This study examined the optimal temperature, time period, α-amylase dose rate, and calcium concentration to be used in the cooking of wheat grain to maximise alcohol yields. It was determined that lower cooking temperatures are more successful in achieving higher alcohol yields, and it was confirmed that temperature is a key variable in the cooking process. By optimising all parameters, alcohol yields of 458 LA/tonne were obtained, demonstrating that the optimum parameters can be successfully used for both hard and soft endoderm wheat produced in Ireland as well as for different varieties. This indicates potential for producing higher alcohol yields using Irish-grown wheat in Irish distilleries.

Otsin is the spirt of Gitxsan Peoples and is reflected by the Gitxsan author sharing the journey in the development of a unique third year undergraduate nursing practice course. The nursing practice course immerses students in a combined rural and an interdisciplinary indigenous nursing practice. The practice course is based on a student centered, context-based teaching pedagogy using a two-eyed seeing approach. The theoretical tenet of place is reconceptualized to reflect Indigenous communities and rural nursing practice. The metaphor of weaving together cedar strips is used to reflect a journey that takes students through the experiences of living and practicing in a rural northern community while embracing on the land experiences, cultural practices, traditions, language and ceremonies. The traditional academy curricula are challenged to broaden the lens beyond the classroom theatre walls to rural, indigenous nursing practice experiences. The weaving of the cedar strips together and allows students to construct their understanding of the impacts of colonization on Indigenous Peoples and an opportunity to be guided by the community to practice cultural safety.

First half of the 20th century was shaped by the modernist movement, represented through technical and technological achievements of building into economy, social context and culture giving an overall sense of units and spirt of urbanism and architecture of the modern era. In architecture there is a special place for the architect of the new era Le Corbusier whose narrative shaped and dominated the urban and architectural medium. Through research one can draw an analogy conceived by Le Corbusier between a typical serial housing unit and his functionalist urban and regional planning. He was at the same time praised and despised, but has definitely shaped the urban landscape as we know it today. Through research into his essence and paradigms and contribution, this paper aims to reflect his urban design process that originated in multiplication and standardization of single units (family or collective) combined with his visions for an expanding cityscape.

How do you build awareness and capability for digital curation knowledge and experience across a country? The National Library of New Zealand has a statutory role in supporting and advancing the work of Aotearoa New Zealand libraries to ensure documentary heritage and taonga is collected and preserved across the country’s memory system. This role includes supporting the collecting and curation of born-digital content. Aotearoa New Zealand’s Gallery Library Archive Museum (GLAM) sector is small but varied and diverse, so requires a flexible and adaptive plan to grow experience and capability in this area. This paper will describe the background research undertaken to gain a better understanding of the current environment, describe the development and delivery of pilot training in managing born-digital archival content, and outline our next steps. Driving this effort has been two foundational principles: 1) theory and practice are always in conversation with each other and practical hands-on experience is as important as theoretical knowledge and understanding; and 2) the work of growing capability should be done in a spirt of collaboration and partnership, meeting each other as equals and learning from each other.

AbstractThis paper presents an analysis of the classroom discourse and strategies of Marcia, an early childhood teacher of a class with a high percentage of Indigenous Australian students. These students have been demonstrably successful on standardised literacy tests, which is not the case for Indigenous students in general in Australia (e.g., MCEETYA, 200). It will be suggested here that Marcia’s approach and relationships with the students, as constructed in her discourse, have been a large contributing factor in this success. Marcia’s discourse can be described as both inclusive and empowering and, as such, it will be proposed that awareness of her techniques may be of benefit to teachers who are working with groups whom education systems tend to marginalise and disempower. Marcia’s lessons were observed as part of the project, “Teaching Indigenous Students with Conductive Hearing Loss in Remote and Urban Schools of Western Australia”. (1) Background: The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) utilizes three criteria to include a technology in the List of Banned Substances and Methods—performance enhancement, health, and the spirit of sport. The latter is arguably the most fundamental one, as WADA justifies the anti-doping mission by appealing to it. (2) Method: Given the interrelationship among the notions of “human nature,” “natural talent,” and “sport,” I investigate what view of human nature underpins the “spirit of sport” criterion. To do so, I focus on both WADA’s official documents and scholarly formulations of the spirit of sport (that align with that of WADA). (3) Results: I show that the value attributed to excellence and effort in WADA’s formulation of the “spirit of sport” criterion has its roots in the notion of human nature of the work ethic that resulted from the secularization of the Protestant ethic. (4) Conclusion: Drawing on my analysis of the “spirit of sport” criterion, I pose critical questions concerning the justification of WADA’s anti-doping campaign and a tentative solution to move forward in the debate.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) mendeskripsikan bentuk kata bahasa gaul yang digunakan dalam kolom komentar di aplikasi snack video, (2) mendeskripsikan proses pembentukan kata bahasa gaul yang terdapat dalam kolom komentar di aplikasi snack video, (3) mendeskripsikan faktor penyebab terjadinya penggunaan bahasa gaul yang terdapat dalam kolom komentar di aplikasi snack video. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskripsi kualitatif. Sumber data yang diambil oleh peneliti yaitu kata bahasa gaul yang terdapat dalam kolom komentar di aplikasi snack video, dengan data berupa kata bahasa gaul. Total data keseluruhan 100 data. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode simak dan teknik catat, dan dilanjutkan dengan teknik analisis data yang dilakukan dengan tiga cara yaitu reduksi data (data reduction), penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Jenis keabsahan data (triangulasi) yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah triangulasi sumber. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, peneliti menemukan bentuk kata bahasa gaul yaitu (1) kata dasar, (2) kata turunan, (3) bentuk ulang, (4) gabungan kata, (5) akronim. Kedua, peneliti menemukan proses pembentukan kata bahasa gaul yaitu (1) sumber dalam bahasa indonesia: pengaktifan kata-kata lama, pembentukan kata-kata baru, penciptaan kata baru, pengakroniman, (2) sumber luar bahasa Indonesia: kata serapan yang berasal dari bahasa serumpun (daerah), kata serapan yang berasal dari bahasa asing (adopsi, adaptasi, dan pungutan terjemahan). Ketiga, peneliti menemukan faktor penyebab terjadinya penggunaan bahasa gaul yaitu (1) setting and scene, (2) participants, (3) ends: purpose and goal, (4) act sequences, (5) key: tone or spirt of act, (6) instrumentalities, (7) norms of interaction and interpretation, (8) genres.

To end the HIV epidemic as a public health threat, there is urgent need to increase the frequency, depth and intentionality of bidirectional and mutually beneficial collaboration and coordination between the USA and global HIV/AIDS response. The US Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is uniquely positioned to showcase bidirectional learning between high-income and low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs) in the fight against HIV. For 30 years, HRSA has successfully administered the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP), the largest federal programme designed specifically for people with HIV in the USA. Further, HRSA has developed and delivered innovative, cost-effective, impactful HIV programmes in over 30 countries as an implementing agency for the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). When PEPFAR was authorised in 2003, HRSA rapidly developed systems and infrastructures to deliver life-saving treatment, initiated workforce development programmes to mitigate health worker shortages, and laid the path for transitioning PEPFAR activities from US-based organisations to sustainable, country-led entities. As global programmes matured, lessons learnt within LMICs gradually began strengthening health services in the USA. To fully optimise synergies between RWHAP and PEPFAR, there is a critical need to build on successful initiatives, harness innovation and technology, and inculcate the spirt of multidirectional learning into global health. HRSA is promoting bidirectional learning between domestic and international HIV programming through documenting, sharing and implementing strategies, lessons learnt, best practices and effective models of care to accelerate achievement of HIV epidemic control and support country-led, sustained responses to public health threats.

It is obvious that when propylene is absorbed by sulfuric acid under the conditions of industrial synthesis, side reactions of oligomerization and oxidation of propylene and its oligomers occur. Since the involvement of the acid group of waste in the esterification reaction with alcohols resulted in a product containing both an ester and propylene oligomers, the possibility of using the synthesized compound to improve the quality characteristics of transformer oil and diesel fuel was investigated Production of isopropyl alcohol by sulphuric acid hydration of propylene in spirt of imperfection from ecological point of view up to present time didn’t lose is industrial significance. By comparison of two industrial methods production of isotropic alcohol by direct find sulphuric acid hydration of propylene it is necessary to notice the high conversion of propylene by sulphuric acid method and low(because of thermodynamical limitations)-by direct hydration. A preferable use in industry of sulphuric acid method production of isopropyl alcohol was noticed. In this work an attempt to improve the ecological and technological-economical indices of sulphuric acid hydration of propylene by way of qualified use of wasters received in this production have been undertaken

Abstract:

Abstract A debate has arisen over whether “the spirit of sport” is an appropriate criterion for determining whether a substance should be banned. In this paper, I argue that the criterion is crucial for Olympic sport because Olympism celebrates humanity, specifically human agency, so we need to preserve the degree to which athletes are personally and morally responsible for their performances. This emphasis on what I call “athlete agency” is reflected metaphysically in the structure of sport, which characteristically prescribes inefficiencies in order to create challenges, and seeks to reduce or eliminate the proportion of a performance outside an athlete’s control. Emphasizing athlete agency also prevents wealthier and more technologically developed countries from using their resources to gain an advantage in sport. Interpreted according to athlete agency, the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) “spirit of sport” can be clarified to imply that substances, techniques, and equipment that reduce athlete agency should be reduced or eliminated, while things that increase it should be encouraged.

Abstract:

Objectives The purposes of this study were to influences of choice characteristics of sport center users on community spirit and social interactions. Methods The study was conducted with collection and analysis of the data on the subjects consisting of 299 users of three sports centers in D Metropolitan City in order to identify the influences of choice characteristics of sport center users on community spirit and social interactions. Collected data were processed with frequency analysis and factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis with use of Windows SPSS 29.0 program, and the conclusion was obtained as shown below. Results First, choice characteristics showed positive correlation to all sub-factors of community spirit and social support in social interactions but showed negative correlation to stigmatization in social interactions. Second, factors of facilities and programs in choice characteristics of sport center users showed positive influences on sub-factors of community spirit such as intimacy and belonging, harmony and unity, expression of intention of voluntary participation, identification and sharing of merits and demerits, and autonomy and public consciousness and accessibility factor showed positive influences to intention of voluntary participation and authoritative collectivism. Third, program and accessibility factors in choice characteristics of sport center users showed positive influences on social support and stigmatization factors in social interactions and cost factors showed positive influences on social support in social interactions but negative influences on stigmatization factors. Conclusions In conclusion, the influences of choice characteristics of sports center users affect community spirit and social interaction.

Background: The need to advance and achieve success is deeply ingrained in human evolution. As a species, humans developed instincts that allowed them to survive and transmit their genes along generations. The will to win is an instinct that has been maintained in the species for millions of years. Sport is an activity as old as humans themselves and is subject to rules; Objective: The proposal of this work is to explore some of the most recurrent practices to achieve the athletes’ goals, and the origins and historical use of methods or substances to improve performance and its regulation, as well as to review the impact of new technologies on achieving better results and to make a proposal of what actions should be takenin order to prevent bad practices; Methods: A narrative literature review of ethical sports issues and decision-making was performed in the English language; Results: Practically all behavior with regards to the theme of sports is regulated by ethical codes that must be followed by sportspersons, as well as by everyone involved in the athlete’s healthcare and in the athlete’s administrative, marketing, and business aspects. Notwithstanding this, winning and reaping glory implies a reward far greater than fame and fortune, which can lead to poor ethical practices in athletes, as well as in interested parties who detract from the intrinsic value of the spirit of sports. The will to win could exceed the limits of what is permitted in fair-play, like the use of prohibited methods or substances; Conclusions: In this work, we review some of the bioethical aspects ofsports. Additionally, recommendations are offered for good practices and to prevent falling into poor ethical behavior.

Sport accomplishes humanity and acquires godliness. The culture of the spirit is in the service of bodily culture, which is why the sport is a great human victory over the ground, the road, the plot, the spiritual desert and the futility of culture without a cult. Sport in its pure form is not only a form of meaningless ritual, physical enjoyment, emphasis, form of idolatry, and fetishism, although it is obvious that sport is pushing into an abyss of total bodily activity. Sport is the answer to the innate man’s need to examine and move the boundaries of his own abilities and to deal with physical and mental activities that bring a sense of fulfilment and satisfaction in human life. Undoubted is the contribution of sports in creating work habits and in combating the alienation of people and other negative phenomena. Sport brings joy and builds complete personalities with healthy feelings, able to cope with the most difficult problems that life brings. Between the body and spirit there is a permanent connection and mutual effect. All that is happening in the soul of man during his life is essential and necessary and in the most intimate way connected with the life of the spirit, in which all the acts of the soul and the body are imprinted in it. The basic postulates of religion and sport are very close. Both in sport and in religion, a person wants and tends to feel better and be better. In doing so, it is advisable to follow the famous saying: “In the victory not be extoled, in defeat not be humiliated”. There are more and more doctors of science, but fewer scientists, more and more scientific papers, but less and less practical applicability of these... Unfortunately, schools and teachers teach pupils to repeat learned, instead of learning them to think and contemplate. The seemingly noble challenge ‘CITIUS, ALTIUS, FORTIUS‘- FASTER, HIGHER, STRONGER can forget the man and the God in athletes.

Although the sport industry continues to evolve, one thing has not changed—the need for sport managers to be good citizens. What does it mean to be a good citizen and how does that relate to us as sport management educators and researchers? This lecture suggests what we as sport management educators can do to help our students become better citizens in this day and age. As new issues emerge, our graduates will be forced to make decisions which often place the Temple and the Agora—the spirit of sport and the business of sport, the conscience and commerce of sport management— in opposition to each other. These new issues encompass topics such as social entrepreneurship, technology, environmental respect, sport for development and peace, and sport and human rights, and need to be woven into the fabric of our sport management curriculum.
