With the emerging trend of technological advancement in sport media production, sport analytics has provided fan-oriented game contents through multimedia platforms. This study aims to empirically investigate sport fans’ perceptions toward sport analytics contents (i.e., statistics, video, data visualization, decision-aid) by exploring their impact on fan engagement (i.e., information, entertainment, personal identity, social interaction) and employing the uses and gratifications theory. Using multiple regressions, this study found that sport fans are more likely to consume statistics and vide

Sport analytics promises to use Big Data and sophisticated statistical methods to identify effective strategies in sports—“the Moneyball moment.” However, much like alchemy, sport analytics is characterized by opacity and secrecy, and outside of baseball, evidence of success that would meet the usual scientific criteria is limited. An example is used to demonstrate that quite simple models can match more complex ones in terms of prediction. Like alchemy, sport analytics can deliver important advances in our understanding, but some problems need to be addressed. These include the need to incorp

The big data revolution has had an impact on sports analytics as well. Many large corporations have begun to see the financial benefits of integrating sports analytics with big data. When we rely on central processing systems to aggregate and analyze large amounts of sport data from many sources, we compromise the accuracy and timeliness of the data. As a response to these issues, distributed systems come to the rescue, and the MapReduce paradigm holds promise for large scale data analytics. Abstract:
A genetic test by PCR-reverse line blot hybridization was developed for rapid detection of mycobacterium tuberculosis and rifampin resistance simultaneously. Duplex PCR targeting IS 6110 and rpoB gene was employed to detect M. tuberculosis and the rpoB fragment with rifampin resistance hot spot region. The analytical sensitivity of duplex PCR for IS 6110 and rpoB gene was found to be 10 and 100fg of M.Tuberculosis H37Rv DNA, respectively. Since duplex PCR was specific to M. tuberculosis complex, it was thus able to be applied directly in clinical specimens. Oligonucleotide probes were designed

Abstract:
Iraq is one of the countries most exposed to instability and lack of security, due to many reasons which are the fragility and weakness of the state that leads to many hot spots of extremism and terrorism. These foci exist in ethnically or religiously homogeneous and heterogeneous societies, which we will discuss in this report.
