Abstract:
The purpose of this text is to present the current context of journalist education in Serbia, the necessary teaching models and the overall importance of their academic education at higher education institutions. It is primarily focused on the field of sports journalism, considering the popularity of this field (sports) and this area of journalism (sports), as well as some attempts to unjustifiably marginalize it. Aimed at highlighting the specificity of the moment in which the entire journalistic profession operates today, its challenges and responsibilities on the one hand, and connections between sports and journalism (media) and academic education in the domain of sports journalism in Serbia on the other, a specific research was conducted among sports journalism students, many of whom are already engaged in journalist newsrooms. Therefore, a special segment of this research is dedicated to the importance of adequate education of sports journalists (but also beyond this field) at higher education institutions, and it is detailed in this text through obtained results and findings. These should depict the current state in this context, as well as the accompanying paradoxes and possible development perspectives. Indirectly, they should also emphasize the importance of improving this relationship for the world of journalism and the media as a whole, as well as the entire society in which they play a very important role.

Abstract:
It is impossible to imagine journalism without ethical norms and rules. All journalists, regardless of the field in which they work, must always adhere to these norms. This is primarily due to the nature, function and scope of the media. The audience meets any article in the media with great sensitivity. The journalist must thoroughly investigate the facts and events and not make mistakes. The journalist must be especially careful in his statements and examples. Thus, touching a person's reputation is unaccepted not only in society, but also in journalism in general. The journalist must distinguish between criticism and insult and see these differences.
A journalist's professional ethics and professional duties are in harmony with each other. In the context of professional ethics, debt is considered an important quality. The professional ethics of a journalist regulates his responsibility to the public - readers, listeners, viewers for accurate, objective information.
Professional ethics has emerged in the form of historically unwritten "laws". In general, a person based on the voice of conscience, justice and socially accepted rules in any field of activity has two main goals:

 to raise the level of necessity and appropriateness of the profession in addition to the executor of this profession;
awareness of responsibility to society and people. As journalism serves people and society as a public institution, it can face a variety of challenges on a daily basis. One of these problems is ethical principles. The article discusses how sports journalists follow these principles.

Abstract:
Broadcasting journalists use short, ad hoc interviews for newsworthy events. Because these interviews typically last for just a few minutes, it is a challenge for both journalist and interviewee to address the audience. This study explores journalistic questioning techniques in sixteen live broadcast interviews with athletes carried out by Estonian journalists during the 2018 Olympic Winter Games plus a few examples from sports interviews collected from the Spanish, Italian, Finnish, German and American television. Analysis shows the questioning technique of journalists does not help interviewees to provide well-focused and interesting explanations. The main problems are related to the scope of the questions, blurred focus and the journalists’ inability to use listening-based questioning. As a result of the analysis, we propose a universal model that would help journalists in any field (not just sports journalism) to carry out better ad hoc questioning.

Abstract:
Integration and efforts to include women journalists are increasing as a result of advocating for a more inclusive media, including in sports desk. However sports journalist broadcasters are limited, as seen from the way women athletes are covered at various levels, the representation of athletes who get the spotlight as well as the focus on sports industry issues that get coverage priority. This literature review uses the scoping literature review method - a literature discussion on women sports journalists - and Bourdieu's framework to understand sports journalism as doxa and its influence on women journalists and other women workers in sports journalism. Experiences and decision making of women journalists were analyzed with the perspective of Gender Psychology based on previous researches from Journalism, Communication, Sports and Media Studies. The literature analysis resulted in a mapping of the various issues faced by women sports journalists, as well as describing the dynamics and identity negotiations that were experienced. The existence of women sports journalists influences the way sports desk works, the issues and focus of their work, their writing styles, and their strategies in the workplace and sports media as institutions. Women sports journalists create a space to work through their daily lives.

This was an extension of research by the same authors (2010) that investigated sports reporters’ perception of their use of Twitter as part of their professional journalistic duties. Using content-analysis methodology (N = 1,008), the authors investigated how sports reporters actually used Twitter. Analysis showed a discrepancy between journalist responses and measured content. Although journalists said they were using Twitter for breaking news and promotion, the dominant result of the content analysis was commentary and opinion. There were also differences related to print and smaller media outlets. The implications of such differences are discussed, including a possible paradigmatic shift in journalists’ approaches.

Abstract:
Fabrizio Romano’s sizeable social media followings and role as influencer–sports journalist warrant attention. Romano, known for his catchphrase ‘Here We Go’, specialises in football transfers and produces multi-platform content. This study investigates how Romano’s Twitter practice informs professional understandings of sports journalism. A content and textual analysis (n = 494) was conducted of one month of Romano’s tweets and replies. Tweets were categorised according to markers of sports journalism practice. Results show Romano is professionalising sports journalism on social media and subverting understandings of personal branding through favouring objective news over subjective opinion and focusing on the professional rather than the personal. Romano’s transfer news prioritises major European football clubs, which is consistent with the trajectory of sports journalism on digital platforms. Play-by-play commentary is a minor aspect of Romano’s Twitter output, which contributes to the debate on the significance of game coverage to contemporary sports journalism. Tweets did not mention the human rights issues surrounding the World Cup starting in Qatar, even though this was a key talking point. This finding suggests that the normative assumption that sports journalists should scrutinise power and/or highlight social injustice does not always apply to all practitioners in all contexts, particularly where ultra-specialist settings are concerned.

Abstract:
The problem in this study is seen from the lack of participation and activeness of journalists in reporting tourism sports events in West Sumatra, this has an impact on public knowledge in recognizing what types of tourism sports are, considering that West Sumatra has a very supportive landscape for holding tourism sports events. The type of research is qualitative research. Qualitative research will produce descriptive data in the form of interview results with relevant sources narrated in the research results. With a qualitative approach, it is expected to reveal comprehensive facts about the role of journalists in the development of sports tourism in West Sumatra. The research was conducted in three news agencies, namely Langgam.id, Klikpositif.com, and Harian Singgalang. The research findings revealed the lack of journalist participation in the development of West Sumatra sports tourism due to the lack of socialization by event organizers to journalist. Meanwhile, the role of journalists in the development of sports tourism in West Sumatra is as a disseminator of actual and in-depth information to the public about sports and tourism.

Abstract:
While journalists were once viewed as gatekeepers, dispensing news and information via one-way communication channels, their role as information provider has evolved. Nowhere is this more apparent than on the social networking site Twitter, where information seekers have unprecedented access to information providers. The two-way communication that these information seekers have come to expect can be challenging for organizations such as ESPN who have multiple Twitter accounts and millions of followers. By designating one team of people as responsible for the organization's largest Twitter account, SportsCenter, ESPN has sought to establish manageable methods of interacting with this account's followers, while furthering the goals of the organization and providing sports news around the clock. This study provides a better understanding of the group responsible for ESPN's SportsCenter Twitter account: the motivation and strategies behind the group's Twitter use as well as the dynamics of this network, such as information flow and collaboration. Relying on the Information Seeking and Communication Model, this study also provides a better understanding of information exchanges with those outside the network, specifically a selection of the account's Twitter followers. Additionally, the role of journalist as information provider and certain themes that emerged from the content of the tweets are discussed. The research employed social network analysis and exploratory, descriptive case study methods. The results of this study contribute to social network and information theory as well as to journalistic and information science practice.

Abstract:
The aim of this study was to examine what Swedish elite athletes’ experiences, opinions and ideas are about Swedish sports journalism. We wanted to understand how sports journalism works through the athletes’ point of view, since there is a symbiotic relationship between professional sports and the media. To approach this we carried out a qualitative study based on seven personal interviews with elite athletes representing seven different sports. The theoretical frames used in this study are symbolic interactionism, the agenda-setting theory, framing theory and the sports media complex. The result shows that according to the athletes the journalistic content depends on a range of components, the most important being the relation between the journalists and the athletes, which is mainly based upon the journalist’s knowledge and participation. The sports media complex, which explains the symbiosis between sports and media, is very explicit in our results and so is how journalists set the agenda for the audience. We discuss whether distorted coverage and insufficient knowledge can result in the citizens not getting a chance to fully understand the reality of sports in Sweden and how stereotypical journalism communicate certain meanings and values about sports to the audience.

Abstract:
During the 20th century, the relationship between Media and Sport were very fertile. The revenues generated by the sale of broadcast rights, the Communication and the Media have a great influence over the global success of football. Media and sports organizations have a relationship based on tensions and cooperation and also very fluid boundaries between them. In this present work, we want to understand how media influence sports organizations, more precisely, how football clubs become a space of content and information production. Recently, sports organizations have invested on media and communication departments, either by hiring public relations and media professionals or by creating their own corporate means of communication. We have selected as research objects, the media of three sports organizations: the WebTV of Paris Saint-Germain (France), the website of Botafogo (Brazil) and the subscription TV channel of Benfica (Portugal). Our empirical work was based on ethnographic interviews with the media and communication staff at these football clubs. Based on our interviews, we aim to answer three questions about the creation of these club owned media: why they were created; how they are structured; and who is responsible for their implementation. The choice of these three clubs allowed a comparative study and the analysis of different markets and realities with diverse levels of modernization, that together with each local social context made possible an attempt to offer a generalization about club owned media and the consequences for sports journalism and the relationship between sport and media

Abstract:
They are supposed to be emotional and then barely closed from the detachment required by professional excellence. This dissertation uses cross materials (archives, interviews, ethnography, and content analysis) to give a broader picture of this occupation. It shows that sport journalism’s history has to do with sport business and the legitimization of a market driven journalism. However, such a market driven conception makes do with - sometimes critical - proximity with its object. Such a mass media conception of the sports news is reproduced via schools of journalism. It is all the more efficient since this schools’ teaching fit the economical reality and students’ expectations toward their future work as a “universe of consolation” to pursue their passion for sport. Sport journalism is still regarded from a legitimist point of view as a low-grade journalism, it occupies nowadays a very central position in the professional hierarchy. Then, once should reconsider dominant norms of journalism. Furthermore, the specialists feels “on their place” as they consider their work as a “universe of consolation” to pursue their passion for sport

Abstract:
Sports journalism is a traditionally male-dominated environment. Previous research has shown that women sports journalists were outnumbered in newsrooms, had less career opportunities, have been exposed to harassment and must negotiate identity contradictions in order to succeed in their career. Most previous studies have explored English-speaking countries and little was done in Scandinavia and Latin America. This study aimed to analyze the perceptions and experiences of Swedish and Brazilian women sports journalists from gendered journalism cultures perspective, drawing a comparison between these countries. Through qualitative approach, this study conducted semi-structured interviews with seven women sports journalists from Sweden and Brazil and found that there are more similarities than differences between the two countries. Despite the different contexts, Swedish and Brazilian women sports journalists who participated in this study are overall satisfied with newsroom environment, they claimed that women journalists have gained more space, respect and voice in sports departments in comparison to when they started working in the field. However, they also pointed to some remaining issues such as sexist jokes and a feeling of having to prove their knowledge and capability. Another similarity observed was the perception that sports journalism has highly improved in relation to gender equality and, although the challenges still exist, they are less visible now. This study also found that the biggest difference observed between participants from Sweden and Brazil was the understanding of sexism and woman identity. While Swedish interviewees showed a more complex awareness of these concepts, Brazilians participants demonstrated some confusing comprehension, exposing more contradictions regarding these matters.

Abstract:
This qualitative study aims to analyze the lived reality of women working in sports media today. Through systematic analysis of 12 in-depth interviews, the findings of this study suggest that the adoption of technological advancements in news media and all associated outlets have created a leveling effect for women due to the demand for highly skilled individuals who can handle the digital demand of modern news production. This study suggests that longtime gender disparities in sports media are experiencing a bit of a reprieve due to the massive digital audience and the need for professionals who can deliver information quickly and efficiently and with accuracy. However, the persistent symbolic annihilation of women as well as hegemonic hiring practices that emphasize aesthetic appeal have created a difficult path for women to move off the sidelines and into roles with more creative and analytical breadth, even with a rapidly increasing demand for jobs in the media industry.

Abstract:
This thesis focuses on the coverage of sport-related matters of social relevance in daily newspapers. Sports benefit from massive media coverage but even though the extent of sports reporting allows to deliver, in principle, a multiplicity of subjects and angles of analysis, the coverage of sports tends, in reality, to focus on a limited span of topics (the wealthiest sports and athletes, the most lucrative tournaments, etc.). Moving from the concern about whether or not the coverage of sports reflects the full extent of the sporting phenomenon, the study has engaged in the elaboration of a new taxonomy of topics to define the wider “social dimension”, or social analysis, in the media coverage of sports. This taxonomy, intended as both a conceptual and operational tool, is at the core of the study. The thesis has then engaged in the content analysis of over 6,500 newspaper pages, taking the Italian press as a case study. The analysis has been conducted with a view to compare social analysis in the coverage by general-interest newspapers with that in sports-specialised newspaper. This approach also constitutes a significant contribution to knowledge, as sports newspapers are hardly ever examined as a category in its own right. Italy was chosen, among other reasons, for the presence of multiple sports newspapers. Finally, considering the current decline of press circulation, the thesis also shows the business potential – or “business case” – of social analysis in the coverage of sport, and why this can attract, perhaps unexpectedly, new readers

Abstract:
The dictionary contains more than 5000 eponymous, acronymic and figurative terms used in such a modern and popular sport in Russia and abroad as ice hockey. Special attention is paid to terms from the field of game technology, its history and rules. The dictionary includes figurative expressions that are actively used in modern hockey. Terminology from the field of sports medicine is widely presented-names of symptoms, syndromes, diseases, injuries that occur in hockey. The dictionary is provided with historical excursions-description of rules, traditions adopted in hockey, stories about famous players of the past, awards given in their honor. The dictionary also contains modern and historical names of hockey arenas in the world, indicating the names of the clubs that play on them, and the main technical characteristics of the arenas. The dictionary provides a wide range of typologies of hockey clubs currently playing and clubs that have become history.&#x0D; The publication contains a large number of examples of the use of hockey terms in modern sports journalism and scientific literature. These examples are taken from articles by North American sports journalists describing each national hockey League championship game. The book is based on more than thirty years of experience of the author-a professional translator who has been a passionate fan of ice hockey since childhood.&#x0D; The dictionary is intended for students of higher educational institutions who are studying in bachelor's and master's degrees in the areas of Linguistics, Journalism, Philology, International relations, Advertising and public relations, and Physical culture, as well as for teachers of these areas. This dictionary can also be useful for professional hockey players, coaches, referees, hockey commentators, and specialists. The publication will also be of interest to a wide range of readers who are interested in such a popular and actively developing sport around the world as ice hockey.

Abstract:
This article examines the features of Italian sports reporting as a journalistic genre. It is important to note that Italian sports reporting as a journalistic genre occupies an important place in the Italian media. The work notes the importance of sport for Italian culture, which is an important component of life for the Italian people. The study examines the lexical and semantic features of the functioning of sports reporting units. The focus of the study is on linguistic means that reflect the specifics and flavor of the Italian mentality, despite the rigid framework of the reportage structure. The study found that the language of sports reporting is extremely expressive. The considered tropes and figures enhance the emotionality of the speech heard on the air, conveying evaluative and emotionally expressive meanings.

Abstract:
In Romania, the training of sports professionals using the advantages of e-learning is just beginning, despite its many benefits. The most consistent attempts in this direction were made by AFAN, in the project "E-learning for social partners" (2010 - 2013). This project, financed by the ESF through SOP HRD, developed and tested a blended-learning training system for several occupations in sports (sports adviser, manager of sports companies, organizer of sporting events, sports steward, referee) or in sport-related fields (diet and nutrition, sports journalism or personal branding). This paper aims to highlight some features of the learning process, as they were experienced by the target group while using the new training system. To achieve this goal, we analyzed the attitudes of 242 students in relation to the learning tasks of the courses, in conjunction with the results of the respective program evaluations, and their profiles. The attitude of the participants was reflected in the following variables: frequency and regularity of accessing the platform and the type of actions performed, number of hours spent on the platform, participation in specific courses, the most used types of interactive exercises. In addition, we assessed the impact of technology use on the students, as the e-learning platform recorded events resulting from improper use of the work interfaces. The final evaluation of the students was made by each specialist, course lecturer. Data were obtained from reports generated by the Moodle platform developed within this project. The conclusions of the paper are methodological landmarks; they may underlie the design of blended-learning programs aimed at the training for occupations in sports
