การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนากระบวนการสอนอ่านแบบ SQ4R ร่วมกับเทคนิคอุปมา/เปรียบเทียบ เพื่อส่งเสริมทักษะการอ่านจับใจความ และเพื่อศึกษาผลของการใช้กระบวนการสอนอ่านแบบ SQ4R ร่วมกับเทคนิค อุปมา /เปรียบเทียบที่มีต่อทักษะการอ่านจับใจความโดยใช้ระเบียบการออกแบบการวิจัย การวิจัยครั้งนี้ เป็นการวิจัย กึ่งทดลอง แบบแผนการวิจัยชนิด Randomized Pretest - Posttest Control group design (แผนแบบการวิจัยแบบมีกลุ่มควบคุมวัดก่อน วัดหลัง ชนิดสุ่ม) กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ คือ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ผู้วิจัยทาการสุ่มห้องเรียน และแยกเป็นกลุ่มทดลอง และกลุ่มควบคุม ห้องละ 36 คน ใช้สถิติบรรยา
