Let P be an n×n partial Latin square every non-empty cell of which lies in a fixed row r, a fixed column c or contains a fixed symbol s. Assume further that s is the symbol of cell (r,c) in P. We prove that P is completable to a Latin square if n≥8 and n is divisible by 4, or n≤7 and n∉{3,4,5}. Moreover, we present a polynomial algorithm for the completion of such a partial Latin square.

Testing and analysis has been performed on square steel thin-walled tubes fabricated using symmetrically-overlapping U-channels and foam. This research analyzes flange-to-flange attachment, effect of foam in the columns, effect of adhesive stiffness, and influence of steel thickness, as related to the local buckling loads, global buckling loads, and crippling loads. Four 14-foot (4.27 m) foam-filled, thin-walled, galvanized steel columns were manufactured by Novatek, Inc. and tested in axial compression with pinned boundary conditions. Strength and deformation characteristics of 10 square confined high-strength concrete columns were investigated. Properties of columns were selected to allow assessment of the importance of confinement parameters for high-strength concrete columns. The set PLS(a, b; n) is the set of all partial latin squares of order n with a completed rows, b completed columns and all other cells empty. We identify reductions of partial latin squares in PLS(2, 3; n) by using permutations described by filled rows and intersections of filled rows and columns. We find that all partial latin squares in PLS(2, 3;n), where n is sufficiently large, can be completed if such a reduction can be completed. We also show that all partial latin squares in PLS(2, 3; n) where the intersection of filled rows and columns form a latin rectangle have completions for n ≥ 8.

The diploma thesis deals with the design and assessment of the steel construction of the car showroom in Jihlava. The ground dimensions of the structure are 40,0 x 52,0 m and the height at the highest point is 13,14 m. The supporting structure consists of a truss girder consisting of a set of arches, outer columns and an inner column with a strut. This is a freebase system, the distance of the bindings is 4.0 m. In the framework of the work is elaborated the comparison of two variants, more suitable includes the static calculation of the main supporting parts, including the joints and details.
