Abstract:
This study delves into gender disparities in push-up performance among first-year students enrolled in the Physical Education course at St. Dominic College of Asia, employing a two-tailed t-test and leveraging Python programming for robust data analysis. Recognizing the integral role of physical fitness for first-year students, understanding potential variations related to gender is imperative for crafting inclusive educational strategies. Executed within the confines of St. Dominic College of Asia, the research aims to shed light on the distinct challenges encountered by selecting a random sample of 20 males and 20 females from the first-year cohort enrolled in GPE 101 (Physical Fitness), from the Bachelor of Science in Nursing during the first semester of 2023-2024, comprising a total of 40 students at St. Dominic College of Asia. These male and female first-year students were assessed to evaluate their ability to meet physical demands. Participants were allotted 10 seconds to perform as many push-ups as possible, and the results were meticulously documented. Two hypotheses were formulated: the Null Hypothesis (H0), positing no significant difference in mean push-up scores between males and females, and the Alternative Hypothesis (H1), proposing a significant difference in mean push-up scores. The subsequent Python programming T-test revealed the acceptance of the null hypothesis (H1). The research findings aim to assess and compare push-up performance times specifically among male and female first-year students at St. Dominic College of Asia. Beyond the local scope, this study exemplifies the application of advanced statistical methods and programming tools to address real-world challenges in the realm of physical fitness.

Abstract:
The quality of education students receive in the schools, colleges, and universities where they are enrolled depends on the assistance and knowledge of quality teachers and professors, whose duty is to impart to the students the knowledge and experience that they themselves have also amassed in their many years of teaching. Tracer studies improve the marketability of educational programs and the relevance of the curriculum. Every educational institution should be in the position of keeping track of its graduates since this serves as a benchmark to see whether the lessons learned over the years of enrollment have been put to good use and have benefited the students as well. It will also show how successful the institution is and how dedicated it is to provide educational excellence. This study determines the employability of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) graduates of St. Dominic College of Asia in the academic years 2010 to 2021 and highlighted specifically their personal profile in terms of gender and status of employment as well as location wherein they are employed, pursuance of graduate studies, type of industry they are involved in, relevance of college experience to employment, and duration to how long they are employed. The study used a descriptive method. The data gathered was through a questionnaire made in Google Forms and was given to 210 respondents deployed though a social media platform and the results were statistically treated using averaging and percentage. It was found out through this tracer study that most graduates were male, self-employed, most did not pursue a graduate degree or vocational course / certificate and held to their jobs for more than four years. There is also strong evidence that what they experience in college held relevance to their current employment.

Abstract:
The Student Discipline Unit is responsible for carrying out and enforcing the policies, guidelines, rules, and regulations of St. Dominic College of Asia to maintain student decorum, peace, order, safety, and security. However, the procedures involved, such as recording violations committed by college students, maintaining records, and application of corresponding sanctions, are inconvenient and time-consuming. Information written on the violation slip form is not always a piece of substantial evidence since students may alter identities to avoid having violation records and punishments. All the collected filled violation slips are then manually inputted into Microsoft Excel for record-keeping; the Student Discipline Officer must go over each worksheet one by one to determine whether the student has committed an offense prior to signing the clearance. Violations committed inside the school are not observed or documented since offenses are only recorded at the main entrance and exit gates of the campus. As a result, the researchers created a web-based student violation management system based on the Laravel Framework as an alternative solution for the manual processing of recording offenses on and off-campus, managing records, and applying sanctions. The Agile Methodology was used to develop the system, which is part of the project’s System Development Life Cycle. The system was evaluated using the ISO/IEC 9126 standard for software quality measurement to test the functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability of the system, with overall satisfaction, mean rate of 4.82 derived from the responses of eight respondents, the developed system is considered highly acceptable from the five-point category.

Abstract:
At this time of Covid-19 pandemic, developing countries such as the Philippines is still in the high risk of possible effects of climate change due to its climate-sensitive economy and low adaptive capacities. As the country is under dual threat: the adverse effects Covid-19 and enduring climate change crisis. With this, the online class for a semester is a good way to continue educating students about the effects and causes of climate change. Thus, this study aims to assess knowledge, perception, and the level of awareness on climate change of college students amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used was quantitative and was participated by 135 college students. The instrument used was a validated online survey questionnaire with structured close-and open-ended questions concerning the factors that led students to acquire knowledge, perception, and awareness on climate change. The data was analyzed using the following statistical treatment and techniques: Frequency Count and Percentage, Percent and rank, weighted mean and One-way analysis of variance. And the results indicate that students in all year levels are all highly knowledgeable of climate change, wherein they described climate change as rising of temperature of the earth (84.4%) that brought extreme typhoons (83.7%), and rising sea level (78.5%). The students mostly acquired their knowledge on climate change through the online classes (39.3%), social media (26.7%), and rarely in their family and relatives (1.5%). The grand mean for students’ perceptions towards Climate Change is 4.69 and the extent of awareness on the causes, effect, and action related to Climate Change has a grand mean of 4.29, which indicates strong awareness. Moreover, the study revealed that knowledge, perception, and level of awareness were not influenced by year level, sex, age, and degree program. Hence, it is concluded that online class on environmental science, which includes related topics like global warming, El Nino, and La Nina in the curriculum has an integral role in raising effective awareness and knowledge on mitigation measures towards climate change. The study recommends the use of qualitative method to further improve the study. Additionally, it can be presented as a project study proposal to the municipality for the local government units for its socio-environmental research projects.

Abstract:
In order to stop the COVID-19 pandemic's rapid spread, which is a global health and social emergency, thus far unheard-of actions must be taken. People's understanding, attitudes, and behaviors regarding the illness have an impact on how closely they follow control measures. Thus, the purpose of this study was to ascertain the employees' and students' level of awareness, attitudes, and practices about the COVID-19 epidemic at St. Dominic College of Asia. An online survey was conducted to determine the level of knowledge, attitude, and practices towards COVID-19 of the employees and higher education students of St. Dominic College of Asia. The responses of the respondents were described using frequencies and percentages, and the t-test was employed to identify any significant differences between the employers' and students' knowledge, attitudes, and practices. The level of knowledge towards COVID-19 is high at 82.08% for the employees and students have high level of knowledge with 77.33%. The respondents have an overall positive attitude (Employees=73.61%, Students=73.04%) in general but a less positive view on how the government is handling the pandemic (Employees=22.22%, Students=13.72%). The respondents are also implementing good practices to prevent the spread of the virus (Employees=98.15%, Students=89.87%). Hypotheses testing showed no significant difference between the employees and students’ level of knowledge and attitude towards COVID-19. However, there is a significant difference in the practices of the employees and students. This means employees have much better practices on health protocols than the students.

Abstract:
This study is an assessment of the faculty development programs of St. Dominic College of Asia for academic years 2015-2016 and 2016-2017. Using the institutional semantic scale which highlights objectives, topic, speaker/facilitator, program management, and amenities and accommodation, the study utilized the descriptive design of research using universal sampling of faculty members with a retrieval rate of 85%. The results show that in general, the overall impact of seminars is extremely effective with the exception of seminars on Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP), action research, and problem-based learning that were rated highly effective. Meanwhile, the evaluation also demonstrates that the topics and speakers who facilitated the seminar were extremely effective. However, least effective among the aspects of the faculty development program is in the area of program management. Thus, it has been recommended to expose the faculty to more seminars and training on student-centeredness and research, as well as to plan for the program particularly carefully and intensively on time management and learning materials like handouts used.

Abstract:
Countless research have focused on online learning, and very few scholarly works examined online learning in terms of the broader student experience. This study aims to better understand the use of active cameras in improving the online learning experience of School of Arts, Sciences, and Education students in St. Dominic College of Asia using six factors: Participation and Productivity, Presence, Connection and Bond, Efficient Communication, Motivation and Confidence, and Application. As defined in the study, active cameras are the use of video cameras throughout the online classes for both the teachers and the students. The researchers utilized a descriptive research design to define and interpret the current status of individuals, settings, or events (Mertler, 2014). This helped the researchers determine the cause-effect relationship of the variables: the student with an active camera and the camera itself. Researchers used an online survey via Google Forms to collect data. Using different statistical tools, the researchers found that most of the 131 respondents agreed that the use of active cameras improved their learning experience. Notably, it helps in enhancing their participation and productivity, presence, communication efficiency, and connection and bond with their teachers and classmates.

Abstract:
This paper explores the implementation of Gamification through the Holistic Gamified Learning Framework and its possibilities and repercussions of using gamification both in traditional method and via online platform based on review of several literatures. To do this, the proponent compared three possible frameworks to find out what framework is more suitable to be used in an implementation of a gamification strategy. It was found out that through Edmodo as a platform for gamification awards, this Holistic Gamified Learning Framework would be better to implement to the school for specific cases that will empower the student within their classes regardless of their program. The researcher found out that there should be needs for the implementation for the earlier generation teacher where gamification would be better explained and taught to them. This study could potentially serve as a model for instructors who want to include gamification into their own courses. Other organizations and schools can adapt gamification as a process of teaching and motivating their students at the same time.

Abstract:
Radiological technology is an allied healthcare profession that deals with producing internal and external images of the human body that are needed for prognosis and diagnosis. Also, they use certain modalities that can have a therapeutic effect on the patient. Being given such responsibilities, they are called the “eye of the medicine,” which clearly shows how important their role in medicine is. With that, the demand for radiologic technologists is increasing. The tracer study that covered BSRT alumni members from batch 2018 to 2021 applied a non-experimental descriptive study for its research design. There were 40 total respondents, which represented the total population of this study. The researcher used a survey questionnaire via Google Forms to gather data. The questionnaire comprises four (4) parts: the respondent’s classification, licensure examination, post-graduate studies, and employment status. The study found out that our graduates, particularly under the BS Radiologic Technology program of St. Dominic College of Asia, have the desired attributes and competencies that are very much important in their chosen working area. This also shows that most of the respondents have landed a job several months after their graduation and after they have passed their licensure examination for radiologic technology. With that, it can be considered that the employment rate of our graduates is employable. It is recommended that the BSRT department should come up with an activity such as a seminar or webinar that will focus on the importance and the advantages of pursuing post-graduate studies.

Abstract:
This study evaluates the services provided by St. Dominic College of Asia for the past four years from AY 2014-2015 to AY 2017-2018 using a customer satisfaction survey. Utilizing the descriptive, longitudinal research design particularly the trend analysis, all students of the higher education were asked to answer a customer satisfaction survey questionnaire that has been used for over five years. The results revealed that almost all offices, facilities and general services follow a downward trend since 2014-2015 but tends to peak up in AY 2017- 2018. Moreover, it also shows that with the exception of offices, facilities and general services did not meet the institutional set standard of 3.9/5 for the customer satisfaction rating. The study also suggests the lack of consistency of making the satisfaction rating consistently higher than 3.9 as their instances that the rating is high in the first semester but plunges in the second semester. Therefore, consistent monitoring of operations and services should be done to prevent this scenario to happen for the next years to come, particularly during second semester.

Abstract:
The use of traditional remedies such as herbal medications has always been a part of cultural heritage and history in most parts of the Philippines. As pharmacists, it is our role to ensure that conventional treatments are neither contraindicated nor disadvantageous to various local herbal remedies. The aim of the study is to assess the attitude and extent of knowledge of St. Dominic College of Asia, BS Pharmacy students on herbal medicines. This study was employed using a structured online survey questionnaire given to thirty (30) pharmacy students enrolled in the College of Pharmacy, ten (10) per year level starting from second year until fourth year. A descriptive, cross sectional study methodology was conducted by distributing a pre-validated instrument to Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy students. A 15-item questionnaire was used to measure knowledge (1 = true and 2 = false) and 16-item questionnaire for determining the attitude (1 = strongly disagree to 5 = strongly agree) towards herbal medications. Of the thirty (30) surveys used, only twenty-seven percent (27%) believed their knowledge of herbal medications was insufficient to practice as a pharmacist. The average herbal medications knowledge score was (10.51.8). Students in the fourth (11.11.4) year had higher herbal knowledge scores compared to second year (9.81.2) and third year (10.62.1) students. However, the average attitude towards herbal medications was similar across all groups, second (3.60.4), third (3.70.4), and fourth year (3.70.4), respectively. As future pharmacists, pharmacy students must acknowledge the need to also learn about herbal supplements and other traditional medicines to be able to serve their patients well.

Abstract:
The study assessed the essays’ lexical richness in two hundred words each essay among the Second Year College Filipino and Nigerian students at St. Dominic College of Asia, Philippines in K1 words (1- 1,000), K2 words (1,001-2,000), Academic Word List (AWL), and Off-List Words. Essay 1 - SOGIE Bill, and Essay 2, one (1) topic of students’ choice: (2.a) Money; (2.b) Happiness; (2.c) knowledge-based economy. The descriptive- correlational design was used with frequency-percentage count and test of significant difference was computed to determine the lexical richness of the respondents’ essays. The Research Ethics Committee approved the research protocol in an expedite manner, hence; a low-risk study. The findings of the study revealed that most of the words used by Filipino and Nigerian students fall under K1 words (1-1,000) level. The lexical richness for both Filipino and Nigerian College Students’ Essays 1 and 2 showed the computed p-value of 0.000 lower than .05 alpha level. The difference is significant, hence; the null hypothesis is rejected. Therefore, there is a significant difference in the word level for Essays 1 and 2 for both respondent-groups, and there is no significant difference in the percentage of words used among K2 words level (1,001-2,000), Academic Word List (AWL), and Off-List Words. However, the Filipino and Nigerian students used OffList Words from K3 – K9 revealing the breadth of their vocabulary knowledge. Lexical frequency profile is a reliable measure on the lexical richness in L2 production. The English vocabulary of students has been enriched by their exposure and use of it in school and at home. The educational level of the parents, the availability of quality reading materials in English, and the socio-economic status of the family could be given consideration among other factors for future research undertakings.

Abstract:
This study sought to craft a leadership enhancement program for non -academic personnel of a selected academic institution. The study made use of a descriptive research method that employed a sixty (60)- item self-made questionnaire for data gathering. The study utilized sixty-eight (68) non-academic employees from St. Dominic College of Asia, who were selected based on purposive sampling approach. The findings disclosed that most participants have taken the Bachelor’s Degree. The extent of leadership empowerment to them was shown more on stimulating them intellectually due to their tenure. Both their tenure and educational qualifications show that they want to be influenced ideally by their leaders whom they look up to as role model for high ethical behavior, respect, trust, motivation, inspiration, and excellence. The low correlation between the extent of leadership practiced and the participants’ attitude towards leadership explained that intellectual stimulation and individual consideration contribute to the low correlation. This study recommends that the leaders should always communicate with employees, listen to their issues, and guide and coach them. Employees should be viewed as individuals with distinct needs and desires to continue the recently offered programs by the institution like the Scholarship / Educational Grant, not only for academic employees but more specifically for non-academic employees or the administrative staffs to help them grow as a person and as a professional.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the role of online grammar checkers in the development of students’ grammar skills and to propose instructional guidelines based on the results of the study. This research explored whether online grammar checkers can help learners develop their grammar skills. This study employed an experimental research design to see how well students can check their own grammar using and without online grammar checkers. Eighty-four (84) senior high school students from St. Dominic College of Asia are the respondents to this study, which was divided into experimental and control groups. The researchers formulated a survey questionnaire as the data gathering instrument, which was used to analyze and comprehend the responses gathered from the respondents. The results presented a relatively positive perception, where the majority of the students perceive that online grammar checkers have good qualities and can be useful in editing their written academic texts. This finding assumes that while the majority of the SHS students have a positive perception of using online grammar checkers, it also shows that a large proportion have a high proficiency in grammar since they can identify and fix grammar errors even without the use of online grammar checkers. However, although the difference in the control group is slightly higher than the experimental group, no significant difference has been identified between the control and experimental groups of students in terms of error rates.
