Abstract:
The article investigates an important stage in the development of Azerbaijan bibliography at the end of XIX - the beginning of XX century. It was a period of rapid development of book publishing, periodicals issuing, development of scientific and professional societies in Azerbaijan. All that processes were accompanied by the development of bibliographic activities. In the latter half of the XIX century there took place intensive accumulation of Oriental manuscripts and printed sources in the Russian cultural centers, particularly in St. Peterburg, Moscow and Kazan. A lot of valuable culture and art objects came to Russia from Azerbaijan. Despite the significant advance in the development of bibliographic resources of Azerbaijan, the work on their formation did not become a systematic activity. It was caused primarily by the lack of state policy in that area. There was also lack of the potential personnel, engaged in library and bibliografic activities at the professional level.

Abstract:
SIMONAS DAUKANTAS’S ORTHOGRAPHIC SWITCH OF PROVERBS IN ST PETERSBURG (ca. 1838 – 1841) Simonas Daukantas (1793–1864) moved to St Petersburg in 1835. Impermanence and competition of variants were typical for his orthography. During the four initial years in that city, Daukantas managed to shape at least two consecutive distinct Lithuanian orthographies of his own: (1) of the Beginning Years in St Petersburg (1835–1836) and (2) of his First Printed Books (ca. the 2nd half of 1836 to 1838). This study analyzes Daukantas’s third period of significant orthographic transformations during his residency in St Petersburg—a prolonged four-year phase of orthographic modifications that can be termed the Orthographic Switch of Proverbs (ca. 1838–1841), since the change was best reflected in the draft lists of proverbs. The major orthographic data was collected from Daukantas’s manuscript Margumynai (Miscellanea, p. 156–166, LLTIBR: f. 1 – SD 27) and printed book Abecieła Lîjtuwiû-Kalnienû ir Żiamajtiû Kałbos (The Primer of the Lithuanian Language—of Highlanders and of Lowlanders, St Petersburg, 1842).

Abstract:
Pavel A. Vasilyev – kandidat nauk (PhD) in Russian History, Postdoctoral Fellow, Polonsky Academy for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences, Van Leer Jerusalem Institute, Israel. Email: pavelv@vanleer.org.il This article builds on previous research on early Soviet female criminality, in particular the studies by Sharon A. Kowalsky and Dan Healey, that have demonstrated how Soviet courts and criminologists explained and handled crimes committed by females, revealing, in the process, profound ambiguities and contradictions in their attitudes towards women. However, unlike Kowalsky and Healey, I focus on an earlier period (1917–1922) and make extensive use of the under-researched archival collections of Petrograd’s local judicial institutions (People’s Courts), drawing on materials such as investigatory reports and court proceedings. Focusing on a 1919 criminal case from the Central State Archive of St. Petersburg (Tsentral’nyi gosudarstvennyi arkhiv Sankt-Peterburga, TsGA SPb) in particular, this paper argues that in the volatile setting of the early Soviet courtroom 'female criminality' was not a clear-cut concept, but rather a malleable product of intense negotiations that involved all legal actors and centered around the contested notions of female subjectivity, socialist ideology, and the material conditions of living. Employing quasi-theatrical language, I first introduce the protagonists and describe the background of this criminal case. Then, I look at the litigation strategies that the two main female defendants employed and the different ways in which they highlighted the material embeddedness of their emotions. Finally, I examine the expressions of remorse and reflect on their role in sentencing within the wider context of the ongoing Russian Civil War and the early Soviet legal reforms. By viewing 'female criminality' as a product of open-ended negotiations and by re-emphasizing the material conditions of revolutionary Petrograd, the article provides a new perspective on gender, crime and the administration of justice in that turbulent period.

Abstract:
Eleonora Jenko (1879-1959), married Groyer from the year 1907, was promoted as the first Slovenian physician at the Women's Medical Institute in St. Peterburg on February 14, 1907. She studied in Russia, because her parents felt sympathetic towards Russian nation, and because women in Austro-Hungarian Empire were not allowed to continue their education at Gymnasiums or at the Universities. Her obtained diploma could not be nostrified in AustroHungarian Empire; she only received the recognition of its equivalency. She could only perform her professional medical work in the former region of Kranjska (Krain) and at the Austrian coast (Küstenland). She was the first female physician who opened an independent medical practice in Opatija. At the beginning of the Great War she returned to Ljubljana and practiced as a physician in Grosuplje. She was not entitled to sign her name as a Doctor, as her diploma has not yet been nostrified. In order to nostrificate her diploma in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes she had to take the exams in Pharmacology and Forensic Medicine at the Zagreb Medical Faculty. On June 15, 1921 she was promoted again, and the same year she opened her medical practice as the first female physician in Ljubljana. She worked her whole life as an independent physician, as all her applications for the public office were rejected.

Abstract:
The first Danish books to arrive in Finland were as Swedish spoils of war in the 17thcentury. Nearly all of these were however destroyed in the Great Fire of Turku of 1827.Only the grammar school library of Porvoo has books of older origin. Finland’s NationalLibrary (then the University Library of Helsinki) obtained the most importantpart of its present collection of older Danish literature in the form of imperial bookdonations from St. Peterburg. In 1833 was added the library of the Marble Palace, which for the most part consisted of Baron Johann Albrecht von Korff’s (1697-1766)private library, which he had built up during over more than two decades when he wasRussian ambassador in Denmark. A further significant donation (in 1836) was Petervan Suchtelen’s collection of European dissertations, including dissertations from theUniversities of Copenhagen and Kiel. The donation of the Korffska library brought c. 22.000 volumes along with the correspondingcatalogues to Helsinki. Since these books lacked ownership stamps and thelibrary had not been kept together as a single unit, verifying which volumes originatedfrom Korff proved to be an extensive research task. It could however be assumed thatall publications printed before 1766 in Denmark and the duchies originate from hislibrary. A quite obvious case in point is the collection Miscellanea, which consists of individuallybound and numbered combined bindings containing 2,266 separate works, and also a collection of older dissertations, around 2-3.000 in number. Thanks to theKorffska library the Finnish National Library owns a wide range of older Danish titles,of which some seem even to be lacking in The Royal Danish Library’s collection. The advent of new online catalogues has meant that research on historical collectionsnow has new tools available to it. The retroconversion of catalogues does howeverconceal a problem, which derives amongst other things from the thoroughness of theconversion. Furthermore, retroconverted catalogues often lack authority control, afact which the researcher must always bear in mind.

Abstract:
The aim of the article is to examine the relationship between students’ reflective information processing style and speech production during academic tasks solving. The study applies Index of Learning Styles Questionnaire (Felder & Solomon, 2001) to examine four pairs of learning styles, notably active –reflective, sensing – intuitive, visual – verbal and sequential - global. The study applies functional analysis suggested by Naydonov (2008). The students were asked to solve the academic tasks aligned with their knowledge of the academic module. The study applies analysis of fourteen categories according to the following two criteria, notably considering the content/meaning of students’ responses and type of solution. The findings indicate that students with a high level of reflective and verbal style less frequently apply category text (34.55±12.39), comparatively with students with a low level of reflective та verbal style (65.94±4.13). Students with a high level of reflective and verbal style more frequently apply category tools (6.61±1.96) and less frequently category intentions (1.69±1.78) comparatively with students with a low level of reflective and verbal style (1.06±.78 and 2.30±.71, respectively). Category models are more frequent in students with a medium level of reflective style (3.61±.99), comparatively with students with a high (2.05±2.76) and a low (2.69±1.01) level. Therefore, speech production in categories of models and tools evaluates the best solutions in the academic setting, providing an efficient academic task solving. References Боса, В. П. Abstract:
Vladislavs Nastavševs is one of the leading contemporary Latvian theatre directors. Nastavševs’ stage productions are constructed by combining elements of psychological theatre, performance art and postdramatic theatre, deliberately expanding the traditional boundaries between the stage and the audience, actors and spectators. Nastavševs’ performances usually contain visually impressive stage metaphors that generate both emotional and psychophysical influence on the spectators, thus exploring new types of performance perception and blurring the boundaries between life (reality) and theatre (fiction). Vladislav Nastavševs (1978) on üks tänapäeva läti teatri juhtivaid lavastajaid, kes alustas tegevust 21. sajandi teisel aastakümnel. Ta omandas teatrialase hariduse välismaal (Peterburis Vene Riiklikus Etenduskunstide Instituudis ja Londonis St. Martin’s College of Arts and Design, Drama Centre’is). See tähendab, et toimub nihe dramaatilistelt (tekstipõhistelt) teatrivormidelt, kus tähendust (rolli) kannab näitleja postdramaatilise märgisüsteemi poole, kus näitleja keha pole lavale toodud etenduse iseseisva elemendina.
