Abstract:
n 1998, Jnana-Deepa Vidyapeeth began publishing (he journal Jnanadeepa: Pune Journal o f Religious Studies. We have just completed ten years of publishing it. To mark this important occasion vve organized a National Seminar which was held in Pune on 17-20 October 2008. The choice of the theme for the Seminar: The Relevance o f St Paul was inspired by the announcement of Pope Benedict XVI that a special Jubilee Year dedicated to the Apostle Paul would begin on 28 June 2008. The Seminar attempted an Indian Reading of the Letters of Paul. It sought to interpret Paul in the socio-economic, political, religious and cultural context of India and find out how relevant his teaching is for us today. In this double issue (January and July 2009) of Jnanadeepa, we are publishing the papers presented at the Seminar.

Abstract:
The Augustinian doctrine of gratuitous union in Christ (and his union with the rest of mankind) emphasized in the struggle against the Pelagian theory concerning the merit of the just prior to Christ or the beginning of grace, finds its undoubted Christological influence in the writings of St. Thomas Aquinas. The conception of the grace of union, the linking of capital grace with habitual grace, and the nexus of both with the first, have a very strong Augustinian imprint in general and the anti-Pelagian writings in particular

How do we make sense of evil in our personal as well as social life? Cyril Desbruslais has shown us the way to move from a static world to a dynamic world to make better sense of evil. Following his approach, in this article, we want to approach evil in the complex world that we live in. in this article we assume that based on our contemporary scientific findings, our world, including the evil present in it, can be better understood as a complex one, rather than a dynamic one. By moving away from Augustine’s static world to Irenaeus’ dynamic, progressing and maturing world view, he provides us with a better appraisal of the mystery of evil.

Abstract:
The article continues the author’s scientific research in the field of arrangement of the burial vault at the St. Cyryl’s Church in Kyiv and its ktitor’s issues. The strategy of researching the monument from its own sources with consideration and analysis of contradictory indirect evidence of the chronicles was used. Reviewing the previous arguments, the author comes to the conclusion that the Grand Prince of Kyiv Vsevolod Olhovych created an unified Kyiv-Kaniv necropolis for his family. Basing on the results of modeling with the use of the data of the chronicles, a scope of people from the princely family of Svyatoslavyches was determined, for whom arkosols were arranged in the burial vaults at the Kyiv St. Cyril’s and Kaniv St. George’s Churches. The data obtained leads to the bold assumption about the identity of the church of the Simeon Monastery and the Church of St. Cyril, in terms of their dedication. The analysis of descriptive (pictorial) sources of the Kyiv church leads to such a vision of the author. The publication aims to critically examine some of the obtained (unexpected) results of the research among the widest possible scope of medievalists.

Great mystical writers as St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross, having meditated on the symbols and themes of the Song. of Solomon, have left to us beautiful passages which we may benefit abundantly when reflected upon their thoughts. Hopefully we attempt to make a survey on the Connections and discrepancies among the three masterpieces-the Song of Songs, Teresa’s Meditations on the Song of Songs, and John of the Cross’ Spiritual Canticle.

Pursuant to a 2013 faculty, the interior of this mediaeval church was painted in 2014. Instead of the specified limewash paint, the architect selected an alternative paint, which proved to be inappropriate: it was impermeable, damaging the wall fabric and causing the paint to flake off. Following a consistory court hearing in 2017 (reported at [2017] ECC SEI 6), the PCC was ordered to remove the paint, and repaint using the originally specified limewash, the cost to be borne by the architect.

Abstract:
In the introduction to Translations of Lucian, More wrote that “of all learned men” Chrysostom was “the most Christian and – at least in [his] opinion – of all Christians the most learned.” It is worth considering how much they were in tune. In 1499 More had access to a new manuscript of Chrysostom’s Commentary on the Gospel of St. Matthew, now in Corpus Christi College. In the first homily Chrysostom gives an overall view of his work and of the teaching of Christ and writes that the apostles brought us a “new principle of life, another manner of living: both in wealth and in poverty, in freedom and in slavery, in life and in death, changing all, our world and our polity. Not like Plato who composed that ridiculous Polis.” That reference to the Republic of Plato is echoed in the Hexastichon of Utopia, Nunc ciuitatis aemula Platonicae / Fortasse uictrix. More deliberately used the word civitas rather than respublica; for in this way he came closer to the word used by Plato and Chrysostom, πολιτεαν. The key theme of that first homily of Chrysostom, addressed to the citizens of Antioch, is that the teaching of Christ is to be practised in the “polis” and in the “agora.” Reference to both the city and market place is to be found also in the letter More addressed to Colet in October 1504. This essay will consider the influence of Chrysostom on More at the time of his writing Utopia.

Abstract:
The proposed article examines the plastic decoration of the Holy doors from the fund of NCHAM of Holy Synod. The Holy doors are a completely complete separate element, but they also carry their semantic load as a part of a larger unified whole, such as the church iconostasis. The article focuses on questions related to the characteristic and symbolism of the plastic decoration of the Holy doors, the characteristic stylistic features and features of the era, the masters and individual schools. In the course of the exhibition, brief attention is paid and their use and importance of the worship services is presented. Abstract:
There are a number of stories about St Paul’ life and mission which demonstrate that he was also a person of strong dissent to many elements that came across in his life. In this short paper we are focusing our attention on these elements and areas. The author wishes to begin by making a few observations on the concept of dissent. After analysing what dissent is, he explains the context of Philemon (3:8), Galatians and Romans to explore Paul’s understanding of dissent. The author concludes by affirming that Paul is not advocating dissent from everything that is traditional and standardized. His dissent is limited to the insufficiencies of the past. It is experience-based and situation-bound.

Abstract:
Objective: To find out the frequency of risk factors associated with STEMI patients admitted in the Cardiology unit of Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi. Materials and Methods: A hospital based cross-sectional study was conducted between December 2017 and July 2018 in the Cardiology unit of Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi. A total of 105 patients were interviewed. The sampling technique used was non-probability convenient sampling. All the patients were interviewed about the presence or absence of risk factors. Risk factors like diabetes mellitus, hypertension, obesity, stress and lifestyle were included. Data was analyzed using IBM SPSS version 23. Results: Out of 105 patients, 79% were STEMI patients and 20.9% were Non-STEMI patients. Mean age was 60.50±11.992years. Mean ± SD of age for STEMI was 61.55±11.513 and mean ± SD of age for Non-STEMI was 56.50±13.172. The difference between the mean age of STEMI and Non-STEMI was not statistically significant. (p value=0.079). Males were 60.2% and females were 39.8%. Out of the STEMI patients, 36.1% had positive family history of STEMI, 27.7% were smokers, 63.9% were hypertensive, 28.9% were diabetics, 69.9% had sedentary lifestyle, 24.1% had the history of stress, 39.8% did not consume fruits regularly and 20.5% were obese. None of the factors was found to be statistically significant. Conclusions: Mean age of the STEMI patients was higher than that of Non-Stemi patients. The most common risk factor was sedentary life style followed by hypertension and family history of STEMI. The least frequent risk factor was obesity. There was no association of any factor with STEMI. Key Words: ST elevation myocardial infarction, Non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, risk factors

Abstract:
The research is dedicated to the problem of mutual dependence in space policies between the West, represented by great spacefaring actors the US and the EU, and Russia. In the study the correlation analysis, content analysis, and scenario-building methods were used. The conclusion of the analysis comprises consideration on the need to invest in their independence by Western countries in order to avoid unnecessary extra dependence on uncertain and unreliable regimes that supply substantial components for their space technology.
