Foster placement breakdown has an adverse effect on a looked after child’s (CLA) educational outcomes and social and emotional wellbeing. One third of foster families have Natural Siblings (NS) and it has been reported that these placements are significantly more likely to break down than placements with no NS. Problems between foster child and foster parents’ own children have been given as the reason for termination in 56 % of placements that failed in nine months or less. Abstract:
This dissertation work addresses two important aspects of nanotechnology - stable dispersion and self-assembly of colloidal nanostructures. Three distinctly different types of nano-scaled materials have been studied: 0-dimensional ZnO quantum dots (QDs), 1-dimensional carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and 2-dimensional alpha-zirconium phosphate (ZrP) nanoplatelets. Specifically, highly crystalline ZrP layered compounds with differences in diameters have been synthesized and fully exfoliated into monolayer platelets with uniform thickness, followed by their self-assembly into liquid crystalline structur

Abstract:
This thesis explores the adversarial relationship between India and Pakistan which is rooted in historical animosities that resulted from the end of the British Raj in 1946. This relationship is further exacerbated by the fact that both countries have conducted nuclear tests. An examination of the development of India and Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program, specifically their nuclear doctrines and nuclear capabilities, is provided to determine the nature of their technical nuclear posture. A policy of sufficient deterrence is explained and adopted to keep the level of nuclear arsenals at a num

Abstract:
A structure property relationship relating photostability with the axial and peripheral substituents of Boronsubphthalocyanine (BsubPc) derivatives has been outlined: peripherally halogenating BsubPc has been determined to be the best way to increase the photostability, while axial substituents are found to have little effect. A solid state photostability test using BsubPc doped polymer films has been developed and was used to form this structure property relationship. The polymer in which BsubPc is tested is found to have an effect on the photostability and should be further explored. In addi

Abstract:
Yes<br>Bioarchaeological and clinical data show that diet influences health, and this relationship is crucial to how we understand past health with respect to sex and age. We propose a new method that coinvestigates the relationship between mortality risk and diet in the past. Our method integrates dietary stable isotope data (δ13 Carbon and δ 15 Nitrogen) from Roman Britain (N=659) with hazards analysis. The results show that these data can be informatively used in this type of analysis in general, and that in the context of Roman Britain, higher δ 13C is associated with lower risks o
