In this paper, a dance excitation vibration analysis and monitoring study is conducted for a building-covered venue to assess the vibration impacts of dance excitation on the high frequency floor structure. Firstly, the existing theoretical models of dance loads are investigated and summarized, and the selection principles of dancing load model parameters are discussed. This paper then suggests that both extreme value peak accelerati

Abstract On April 4, 1994 the Cleveland Indians will begin the 1994 baseball season in their new home. The $392 Million stadium has been under construction since the spring of 1992. During the past 18 months there have been numerous challenges presented to all parties with respect to the construction schedule and the protective coating system applied to the 10,000 tons of structural steel. It is estimated that approximately 75% of the structural steel will be architecturally exposed. The coating system; therefore, will be providing long term corrosion protection as well as an aesthetically ple

Abstract Sports facilities are constructed in nearly every city of the country and the world. Just as these cities themselves are unique in many ways, the facilities that serve the city’s athletes must also be unique. Programs for the design of these facilities must consider natural and man-made environments. But, just how do these affect design and maintenance considerations? Solutions include operating roof structures, large overhanging sunscreens, nuisance and pest control, and coating systems that are designed to resist deterioration from salt laden coastal air, arid desert conditions, ind

With the development of design level and construction technology of cable supported system, various new-type prestressed structures emerge, and a number of public buildings with cable dome structure have been constructed. The structural characteristics and complete set construction technology of Chengdu Phoenix Mountain Stadium are introduced in this paper. In view of the construction difficulties, nonlinear dynamic analysis method was used to carry out simulation of the whole construction process and optimize the construction scheme. The research was carried out from the aspects of rotary lif
