Abstract:
Classroom instruction is highly influenced by the quality of the professional development that teachers and teacher candidates receive. Instructional interventions at the classroom level must be research-based, and working with teachers and teacher candidates to implement interventions effectively is a daunting task. One way to help ensure professional development is effective involves gauging teachers’ and teacher candidates’ concerns, using the Stages of Concern Questionnaire (SOCQ) from the Concerns Based Adoption Model (CBAM). In the current study, teacher candidates received professional development at the pre-service level, and teachers received the same professional development at the in-service level. Both groups were taught specific interventions designed to target middle and secondary students using the Strategic Instruction Model Content Enhancement Routines. The SOCQ was administered prior to and following a professional development series that spanned several months. An analysis of results indicated that professional development is effective in reducing concern in both teachers and teacher candidates. Teachers and teacher candidates overall shared similar concerns on some areas yet were different in their levels of concern in other areas. The researchers suggest possible interpretations for the similarities and differences in results and offer areas for future study.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to identify and assess the concerns of preservice physical education teachers at the University of Leuven (Belgium). In two studies, data were obtained with two different methodologies, namely a questionnaire and the logbook. In the first study the Teacher Concerns Questionnaire (TCQ) was administered to 100 students on three occasions during their early field teaching experiences. Of the three types of concern—self, task, and impact—only impact concern increased significantly and could be identified as a stable factor. In line with related studies, data did not reveal the three stages of Fuller’s concern model. In the second study written concerns were gathered using the logbook method. Concerns about pupil control and organization were found most frequently. Finally, concerns obtained from the TCQ were compared with the written ones. The contradicting findings suggest there are both idealistic and realistic concerns. Further research into a valid instrument for assessing concerns of prospective physical educators is recommended.

Abstract:
There is documented need for improvement of science comprehension amongst high school students in the United States, and inquiry-based learning (IBL) is a recommended teaching strategy to improve science comprehension. Several researchers have focused on examination of learning outcomes for students, but few have researched the concerns of teachers who may wish to adopt IBL methodology. This study used the stages of concern questionnaire to profile ten Midwest high school agriscience teachers’ concerns regarding implementation of IBL, before and after participation in a year-long professional development program where IBL lessons were developed and used in the participants’ high school classrooms. Results indicated that while some participants showed a positive progression in their stage of concern, most professional development program participants did not progress in their concern stage, and some developed increased resistance to IBL as a teaching strategy. This suggests that teachers may need more robust and tailored support when adopting IBL for their classrooms.

Abstract:
This paper discusses the stages of concern that teachers pass through as they engage in the process of innovation adoption and implementation. A 24-item questionnaire was constructed to assess teachers' concerns on five sequential stages: (1) indifference, (2) informational-personal, (3) management, (4) consequence-collaboration, and (5) refocusing. Using the questionnaire, 290 Hong Kong teachers' concerns about school-based assessment as a component of the public examination system were surveyed. Results supported the 5-stage model of teacher concerns. However data collected from another sample of 53 teachers through an open-ended survey indicated that an additional stage of evaluation concerns should be inserted between the indifference and informational-personal stages. Teachers' evaluation concerns focused on the worth and necessity of school-based assessment, as well as support from the Hong Kong Examinations Authority. The revised 6-stage model can provide a more comprehensive framework for analysing teachers' concerns regarding innovations.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to identify and assess the kinds of concerns expressed by experienced physical education teachers and to compare them to Fuller’s postulated developmental theory of teaching concerns. The study also sought to assess the applicability of the Teacher Concerns Questionnaire (TCQ) instrument in a physical education environment. Data were subjected to factor analysis, where it was found that, overall, the experienced teachers did follow Fuller’s three stages of development. Two distinct constellations were identified, as was a third, weaker constellation. This third factor corresponded to Fuller’s task scale and additional study is recommended to identify items more appropriate to an inservice physical education environment. The authors make recommendations for follow-up experiences in an inservice setting.

Abstract:
This study looks into the concerns and the required professional development for adopting an inclusive education system, as expressed by elementary school teachers, based on their gender in Saudi Arabia. Participants in this research were special and general education teachers randomly selected from elementary schools in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which have special education programs. The theoretical framework of the study was the Concern Based Adoption Model (CBAM). Non-experimental cross-sectional survey was used to collect data. Data were obtained from 332 teachers, i.e., the response rate was 83%. The Stages of Concerns Questionnaire (SoCQ) provided by CBAM indicated that respondent stages of concern 0–2 (Unconcerned, Informational, and Personal) ranked the highest, while stages 4–6 (Consequence, Collaboration, and Refocusing) ranked the lowest. This profile was identified as a “non-user profile”, meaning respondents wanted more information about inclusive education. Teachers, in general, showed interest for professional development on inclusive education, including immediate training and seminars/workshops. The only significant difference in interest for professional development was by gender. The t-test indicated that female teachers have more interest for professional development compared to male teachers.

Abstract:
During this study, concerns data were collected from 7 elementary physical education teachers in order to determine their types and intensities of concerns as they proceeded through an in-service program, and to determine the degree to which they implemented the proposed changes. The Stages of Concern Questionnaire and open-ended statements of concern were administered to the teachers on three occasions during the 3-month in-service program: at the outset, midway, and upon completion of the sessions. In order to amplify data collected through these instruments, researchers conducted observations and formal and informal interviews. The data revealed three participation styles among the 7 teachers. The 2 teachers who became users of the innovations were categorized as actualizers. The 3 conceptualizers felt positively disposed to the changes but did not become users during the inservice program. The 2 remaining teachers—the resisters—were negatively disposed to the innovations and failed to implement them. Group and individual analyses are discussed as well as factors that influenced the teachers’ participation.

Abstract:
Inclusive education has been advocated for students with severe disabilities based on the least restrictive environment mandate of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Amendments of 1997, but remains an obscure practice. Some professional groups assert that preparing teachers to provide inclusive education is the sole responsibility of school districts. Teacher educators in colleges and universities must also assume this responsibility, even when the surrounding communities do not provide exemplars or even support this innovation. This article describes a course intended to prepare special education graduate students to educate students with severe disabilities in inclusive settings. Course methods are guided by the Concerns Based Adoption Model (Hord, Rutherford, Huling-Austin, & Hall, 1987) with emphasis on course participants applying course content in public school settings. Anecdotal data and a pre-/postcourse evaluation using the Stages of Concern Questionnaire (Hall, George, & Rutherford, 1986) suggest that the course effectively contributes to preparing teachers for inclusive education for students with severe disabilities and reduces teacher concerns related to managing this innovation.

Abstract:
The promotion of Intercultural Competence (IC) in English Teaching has been an area of extensive study and advocacy at a global level; however, in the Colombian context, this initiative is in its first stages. This article reports results from a first phase of a mixed research study carried out within the framework of the Doctorate in Education at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, which aims to explore and identify the intercultural profile of a group of English professors working at eight public universities in Colombia. In the first stage, a quantitative survey study was developed, based on the results of a questionnaire that was answered anonymously and voluntarily by 70 English teachers. After examining the questionnaire, one of the most interesting results was the significant difference between the beliefs of professors with and without postgraduate studies. This mirrors the fact that a high number of these educators understand promotion of intercultural competence merely as content transmission, ignoring the development of skills and attitudes. Whatsmore, it is evident that a large percentage of these professors filter cultural topics for the class and approach them in a personal and anecdotal way. On the other hand, there is a marked concern amongst the population about the need for promoting cultural relativism in students, both in order to recognize their own identity and accept otherness.

Abstract:
Background and Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess the factors that influence the occurrence of concerns and their intensification after the implantation of a cardioverter defibrillator. Materials and Methods: This was a prospective and observational study including 158 patients. The study was conducted in two stages: stage I before implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implantation and stage II follow-up visit six months after ICD implantation. Standardized questionnaires were used in both stages. Results: Age and female gender were significantly correlated with the occurrence and intensity of concerns. Patients who had a device implanted for secondary prevention also experienced higher levels of concern. Additionally, a multiple regression model using the stepwise input method was performed. The model was statistically significant and explained 42% of the observed variance in the dependent variable (p = 0.0001, R2 = 0.4215). The analysis showed that age (p = 0.0036), insomnia (p = 0.0276), anxiety (p = 0.0000) and negative emotions (p = 0.0374) were important predictors of the dependent variable and enabled higher levels of the number of concerns to be predicted. Conclusions: There is a relationship between the severity of the concerns related to an implanted ICD and age, gender, anxiety, negative emotions and insomnia. Indications for ICD implantation may be associated with increased concerns about ICD.

Abstract:
Addictive behaviors are not limited to drugs use, but also include certain daily behaviors that can cause gratification. Their progression to more severe pathological patterns entails grave consequences for the individual, including multiple psychopathological manifestations. The early detection of this type of behavior is of concern to primary health care. Therefore, in order to detect risk at early stages, reliable and valid tools for daily practice are essential. The MULTICAGE CAD-4 questionnaire is a screening tool for simultaneously detecting addictive behaviors. This study includes a new scale for the detection of smartphone abuse. The objective is to evaluate the adequacy of its psychometric properties. A sample of 2,074 subjects that were recruited from primary care centers ofMadrid(Spain) completed the MULTICAGE CAD-4 questionnaire. A confirmatory factor analysis, using unweighted least squares method, was performed. The test showed good internal consistency both at item and scale levels. The questionnaire structure was consistent with theoretical expectations. The MULTICAGE CAD-4, including the new smartphone scale, is a robust, reliable tool with a valid structure for assessing the presence of dysfunctional or potentially addictive behaviors, and especially useful in primary health care services.

LANGUAGE NOTE | Document text in English; abstract also in Chinese. This is a qualitative study of the concerns that Singapore secondary school coaches have with psychological skills training (PST). Two hundred and three coaches were asked to complete the Stages of Concern Questionnaire. The coaches were categorized into four coaching levels. The survey data demonstrated high levels of informational and personal concerns of the lower level coaches and high consequence concerns for the club level and national youth coaches. A group of four coaches, one from each level of coaching agreed to be interviewed in connection with the study. The interview questions were based on an analysis of the survey data. Results of the study revealed three dominant lines of discourse which went beyond the use of PST in schools and which appeared to be systemic concerns about teaching physical education and coaching in public schools. These included issues were closely aligned to existing concepts prevalent in the professional socialisation literature including marginality, isolation and wash-out. It was considered that these concerns would have a negative effect on the likelihood of coaches introducing PST in local schools.本文嘗試探討星加坡中學體育敎練的心理技能訓練,203位敎練接受訪問,結果發現專業的社會化過程可能會影嚮敎練人員的心理技能訓練。

Abstract:
Objectives To evaluate dentists’ readiness to assess the history of human papilloma virus (HPV) infections and recommend immunization among their patients. Materials and methods A link to a self-administered questionnaire was emailed to Ontario dentists. Dentists’ readiness and its determinants were assessed based on Transtheoretical Model’s ‘stages’ and ‘processes’ of change, respectively. Based on their current practices, dentists were either assigned to ‘pre-action’ or ‘action+’ stages. Results Of the 9,975 dentists contacted, 932 completed the survey; 51.9% participants were in action stage to assess the history of HPV infections and 20.5% to recommend immunization. Internationally-trained and those whose office’s physical layout was not a concern to discuss patients’ sexual history were more likely to assess the history. Dentists with higher knowledge about HPV vaccines, not concerned about the HPV vaccine safety, comfortable discussing sex-related topics with patients, or willing to exceed their scope of practice were more ready to recommend HPV immunization to their patients. Conclusion Improving Ontario dentists’ knowledge and communication skills and changing their self-perceived role regarding HPV infections and vaccination can increase their capacity to minimize the burden of HPV infections.

Abstract:
Introduction Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an acute respiratory infection caused by novel coronavirus 2019. Many individuals suffered psychological symptoms in the early stage when the epidemic was uncertain. We explored the perceived psychological stress and associated factors in the early stage of COVID-19 epidemic. Method The Perceived Stress Scale, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire, Social Support Rating Scale and a general information questionnaire were integrated in an on-line survey conducted from February 1, 2020 until February 4, 2020. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed to explore whether coping style, social support or other factors contributed to psychological stress. Results A total of 1638 participants were included, of whom 44.3% showed moderate psychological stress. Individuals who were younger, female, unmarried, spent more time on the disease, felt more concern about it, reported lower social support (Subjective Social support; Objective social support; Utilization social support), or showed a negative coping style were more likely to suffer higher psychological stress in the early stages of the COVID-19 epidemic. Conclusion Psychological interventions may be targeted to individuals with the risk characteristics identified in this study. It may be helpful to promote social support and positive coping style in the early stage of infectious disease epidemics. This initial evidence from the general Chinese population may be relevant to interventions in other countries for dealing with the COVID-19 and other epidemics.

Abstract:
Objectives: The aim of this study is to design a questionnaire, the Versailles Metacognitive Strategies Evaluation Questionnaire, for assessing the use of metacognitive and help-seeking strategies in three key-domains of impaired daily functioning in schizophrenia. To evaluate its psychometric properties (internal consistency, factor structure, convergent and divergent validity, and stability). Design: Development of a questionnaire and psychometric validation procedure in patients with schizophrenia compared with healthy controls. Stability over one year was assessed in the patient group. Setting: Schizophrenia Centers of Expertise (French FondaMental Network). Subjects: A total of 141 patients with schizophrenia, among whom 77 participated in the second evaluation; 97 healthy subjects. Main measures: The Versailles Metacognitive Strategies Evaluation Questionnaire, Positive and Negative Symptoms Scale, Personal and Social Performance Scale, Evaluation of Cognitive Processes involved in Disability in Schizophrenia Scale, Schizophrenia Quality of Life Questionnaire, and Stages of Recovery Instrument. Results: From the 36-items version, stepwise exploratory factor analysis (oblimin) produced a 25-items scale which had a 3-factors structure (hygiene concern, social relationships, and hygiene help-seeking). Cronbach’s were respectively equal to 0.91, 0.82, and 0.78. One-year stability was good (intra-class correlation coefficient = 0.7). The three factors showed good convergent validity with measures of quality of life (rho = 0.34, P ⩽ 0.001). The first two factors correlated with recovery ( N = 34, rho = 0.53, P ⩽ 0.001). On the contrary, the factors exhibited divergent validity, with no significant correlation, with symptoms and cognitive and psychosocial functioning ( P > 0.05). Factor structure in healthy controls did not match with that of patients, all items but one were found significantly different among groups. Conclusion: The Versailles Metacognitive Strategies Evaluation Questionnaire provides a simple and valid means to assess metacognitive strategies in individuals with schizophrenia.

Despite technological advances in waste recycling and management, many developing countries, including Iran, are still in the early stages of this process: the segregation and collection of recyclable waste. In this regard, to increase citizens' coope ration in household waste segregation, a rewarding solid-waste collection system has been established in the metropolises of Iran. In such circumstances, it is evident that maintaining the continued use of citizens without compromising their satisfaction has become an essential concern in the development of a sustainable waste collection and recycling system in Iran. For this reason, the present study tries to investigate the factors affecting citizens' continuous intention to use the rewarding solid-waste collection (RSWC) mobile apps in Tehran (the capital of Iran). In this regard, first, the conceptual model of the research is obtained by combining the widely used ECM model with D&M’s IS success model. Then, the questionnaire designed based on previous studies was provided to the citizens, and out of a total of 373 completed questionnaires, by removing the incomplete ones, 302 questionnaires were finally analysed. A partial least squares (PLS) analysis based SEM using SmartPLS was performed to assess the model and verify hypotheses. Results show that various variables significantly influence users’ continuous intention to use RSWC mobile apps. Meanwhile, RSWC mobile apps should improve their platform quality and rewarding system, strengthen their content quantity, and ensure the consistency between their service and citizens’ satisfaction.

Abstract:
Background The COVID-19 pandemic has recently spread dramatically worldwide, raising considerable concerns and resulting in detrimental effects on the psychological health of people who are vulnerable to the disease. Therefore, assessment of depression in members of the general public and their psychological and behavioral responses is essential for the maintenance of health. Objective This study aimed to assess the prevalence of depression and the associated factors among the general public during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in China. Methods A cross-sectional survey with convenience sampling was conducted from February 11 to 16, 2020, in the early stages of the COVID-19 outbreak in China. A self-administrated smartphone questionnaire based on the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) and psychological and behavioral responses was distributed to the general public. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were conducted to explore the associated factors of depression.aA cross-sectional survey with convenience sampling was conducted from February 11 to 16, 2020, in the early stages of the COVID-19 outbreak in China. A self-administrated smartphone questionnaire based on the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) and psychological and behavioral responses was distributed to the general public. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were conducted to explore the associated factors of depression. Results The prevalence of depression (PHQ-9 score ≥10) among the general public during the COVID-19 pandemic was 182/1342 (13.6%). Regression analysis indicated that feeling stressed, feeling helpless, persistently being worried even with support, never feeling clean after disinfecting, scrubbing hands and items repeatedly, hoarding food, medicine, or daily supplies, and being distracted from work or study were positively associated with depression, while social support and being calm were negatively associated with depression. Conclusions The general public suffered from high levels of depression during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, COVID-19–related mood management and social support should be provided to attenuate depression in the general public.

Abstract:
(1) Background: Human activity is warming the planet and destabilizing the climate through greenhouse gas emissions, which underscores the need for climate communication to overcome barriers to action. (2) Methods: We launched a five-month campaign that included questionnaires (n = 500) and one-on-one interviews (n = 24) to assess climate change sentiment, engagement, adaptation, as well as understand who climate outreach reaches and the observations and concerns such groups report across the U.S. so as to better understand the local context of climate change and enable more effective climate communication and outreach in the future. (3) Results: Results showed outreach efforts to mostly reach college educated Caucasians who identified as Democrats. “Future generations” was the most frequently ranked climate concern, with the economy, property value, and national security ranked last. Communities frequently observed hotter temperatures, increased flooding, and species impacts. Among “climate-concerned” individuals, the majority reported never contacting a local politician about climate change. College students least frequently reported climate change as a top priority and reported a low frequency of civic engagement on the issue. In-person interviews highlighted climate impacts disproportionately affecting low-income communities and communities of color, such as heat-related mortality and gentrification. Climate adaptation strategies were underway, but mostly among farmers, ecologists, and non-governmental organizations (NGO) workers. (4) Discussion: This study helps inform elected officials, urban planners, and climate communicators as it relates to the allocation of resources for climate adaptation and education, and highlights key knowledge gaps that deserve focus by future outreach efforts.

Abstract:
A primary purpose of this study was to describe differences between self-contained and team teaching approaches when two groups of fourth- and fifth-grade classroom teachers attempted to implement a physical education curriculum during a 4-month in-service program. One school featured team teaching in pairs during physical education classes; the other used a self-contained teaching approach. The program required a minimum of three 30-min physical education classes weekly. All teachers participated in an extensive in-service training program that included weekly on-site assistance. Data collection included teachers’ lesson-completion forms, specialist’s reports, SOFIT PE class observations, teacher-completed Stages of Concern questionnaires, and teachers’ formal interviews. Results indicated that classroom teachers who used the self-contained model more consistently implemented the curriculum and more frequently expressed positive responses. Participants who used the team model for the physical education curriculum frequently strayed from the assigned pedagogical approach, ignored major portions of the program, and experienced extreme management concerns.

Abstract:
Abstract Purpose: The primary objective of the current study was to examine the concurrent validity of a pilot version the Inventario-III (Pilot INV-III) involving parents of Spanish speaking preschoolers with and without delayed language (DL). Method: Fifteen parents of 3 year old children participated. Twelve children were typically developing (TD), while three had DL. All of the children attended Head Start programs. Parents completed two surveys, the Pilot INV-III and the Spanish Ages and Stages Questionnaire (Spanish ASQ) shortly after their child's third birthday. Results: The results indicated that the scores from the Spanish ASQ and the Pilot INV-III were significantly correlated, suggesting that these tools seem to be measuring comparable language skills. Furthermore, the DL group's scores on the Pilot INV-III subscales were much lower than the TD group. These results suggest that the Pilot INV-III may be useful clinically for screening purposes when the only area of concern is communication development. Conclusions: Limitations and implications for practice and research are presented.

Abstract:
Background Due to widespread SARS-CoV-2 infection, an emergency homeschooling plan was rigorously implemented throughout China. Objective This study aimed to investigate the experiences and attitudes of elementary school students and their parents (two generations from the same family) toward online learning in China during the pandemic. Methods A 16-item questionnaire was distributed at the 10-day and 40-day marks after the start of the first online course to 867 parent-child pairs and 141 parent-child pairs, respectively. The questionnaire was comprised of questions pertaining to course and homework completeness, effectiveness, reliability, and abundance as well as the students’ enthusiasm for taking part in online classes and their satisfaction with the courses. Results Our findings indicate that 90.7% (786/867) of students exhibited high or moderate enthusiasm for participating in online classes. However, most students performed poorly in online learning classes and after-school homework. With regard to satisfaction, parents' and students' average scores were 7.35 and 7.25, respectively (10-point scoring system). During the second stage of this study, parents' positive evaluations for online learning declined, including those for the effectiveness and reliability of the courses. Furthermore, the proportion of students who completed the courses and homework on time decreased; this difference proved statistically significant (P=.047). The parents’ and students’ overall satisfaction with online learning also declined during the second stage (parents: 7.21; students: 7.23); however, the difference in overall satisfaction between the two stages was not statistically significant (parents: P=.53; students: P=.60). Several of the parents (315/867, 36.2%) indicated that assisting with and supervising the students’ online learning resulted in increased stress. Further, 36% of parents expressed dissatisfaction with or provided suggestions for online learning; most parents and students hoped to return to face-to-face classes (parents: 823/867, 94.9%; students: 811/867, 93.5%). Finally, our results presented the following six main issues that parents were the most concerned about: (1) disappointment regarding timely interaction in courses; (2) apprehensiveness about students’ understanding of the course; (3) the increased burden of annoying adult responsibilities; (4) concern about children's eyesight; (5) the idea that teachers’ explanations were not detailed enough; and (6) concerns about the decline of students' interest in and attention toward online courses. Conclusions Online learning can prevent the spread of infectious diseases while still allowing elementary school students to attain knowledge. However, in our study, children’s completion of the courses and homework were not satisfactory. Furthermore, their parents often experienced stress and had many concerns and complaints. Measures such as increasing the interactivity of the courses and prohibiting teachers from assigning tasks to parents could improve the effectiveness of these courses and the mental health of parents and students.

Abstract:
International reports of morbidity among female workers in Mexico's border zone have raised concern about the occupational health of female workers in maquiladora plants (foreign-owned border industries with special tariff benefits). Commentators have suggested that U.S. industries may be exploiting workers by transferring work to nations with less stringent health and safety regulation through the maquiladora program. Using data from a larger evaluation of the effectiveness of Project Concern and a specially developed questionnaire, this study investigated the extent to which female workers reported higher morbidity rates than women with other employment and women not employed outside the home in seven colonias (communities) in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Results showed essentially no difference in many short-term self-reported symptoms of illness among maquiladora workers and two other groups. Women who worked exclusively in the home reported the greatest number of symptoms. These results suggest that additional primary care services may be needed for women who have primarily domestic responsibilities. Additional research is needed to assess the risks for long-latency morbidity.

Abstract:
Evidence supporting the internal structure of an assessment can provide support for its scoring mechanisms. A total of 1,691 young children in the United States were assessed by their parents using the 16-month questionnaire of the Ages and Stages Questionnaires, Third Edition (ASQ-3), and results were used to study the internal structure and dimensionality of the ASQ-3 using item response theory (IRT)/Rasch models. Data were analyzed using IRT including unidimensional and multidimensional Rasch Partial Credit Models to examine four theory-based internal structures. Results supported the hypothesis that the ASQ-3 measures a unidimensional construct—the overall development of children—while preference was given to a more precise multidimensional construct of five interrelated domains. However, concerns emerged regarding the extremely high correlations between items in the fine-motor and problem-solving domains. Findings provide implications for the test developers in terms of item refinement to improve measurement of underlying constructs.

Abstract This study is a continuation of the work of Professor Kazimierz Wrześniewski. It concerns the role of curiositytrait in the dynamics of changes in coping and quality of life after a heart attack. The study was attended by 222 people after a heart attack (73% men), of whom 140 participated in the three stages of the study: at the beginning and at the end of cardiac rehabilitation and a year after leaving the resort. The participants aged 24-64 years (M = 54.19; SD = 6.51). Curiosity-trait was measured by Spielberger and Wrześniewski’s STPI questionnaire. To assess coping strategies a modified version of the COPE by Carver et al., was used. The specific and general quality of life were measured by the Polish adaptations of MacNew and NHP questionnaires. The level of curiosity-trait significantly differentiated changes in the dynamics of positive reinterpretation, problem solving and resignation, but did not affect the change in quality of life within the year after a heart attack.

Abstract:
Working farm dogs in New Zealand may have a high parasitic challenge because of access to raw meat and close contact with other dogs. This cross-sectional study aimed to estimate the percentage of dogs with gastrointestinal nematode and protozoan parasite lifecycle stages present in their feces and to identify factors associated with the presence of parasites. A single researcher collected information about the dogs and their management via a questionnaire, body condition scored (BCS) the dogs, and collected fecal samples to determine the parasite burden. Fecal samples were collected from 171 dogs and 40% (95% CI 33.0% to 47.7%) contained parasite ova or (oo)cysts. There was no association between BCS and the presence of nematodes and parasites (p = 0.74) in the feces. The percentage of dogs with parasites present in their feces was not associated with BCS or the frequency with which anthelmintic drugs were reportedly administered (p = 0.61). The high percentage of dogs with parasites are of concern for the health of the dogs and their owners, given the zoonotic potential of some parasites. Further, research should also focus on understanding why reporting giving anthelmintic drugs at least every three months did not eliminate the infection.

Abstract:
Purpose Money laundering has become a global concern in recent years, and many countries attempt to employ some preventive measures to cope with this phenomenon. Anti-money laundering (AML) controls vary in different countries, and consequently many studies, to date, have taken account of these differences along with the AML efforts. In this regard, financial institutions play an important role to tackle money laundering by involving in all three stages of money laundering (placement, layering and integration). The purpose of this paper is to investigate the AML situation of the Iranian banks and also study some related variables. Design/methodology/approach Using the Wolfsberg questionnaire, a survey consisting of 24 Iranian authorized banks in 2017 was conducted. Findings We conclude that Iranian banks have proper AML controls in place. Furthermore, it is concluded that banks with more staffs and more experienced employees are more likely to establish strong AML controls; conversely, banks with more branches are less likely to set up strong AML controls. Originality/value The present study is the first study conducted in Iran, and the outcomes of the study may be helpful to the Iranian and also International Banking System to establish stronger AML controls.

Abstract:
The population of the planet is constantly growing, people are moving to the cities. Recently, more and more interest is being given to smart cities as a guarantee of at least comfortable living of citizens, as a maximum – an ultramodern autonomous city with artificial intellect, anticipating the needs of residents, capable of functioning autonomously for a long time. The purpose of the article is to analyze the experience of smart cities, highlight the distinctive and common features and outline the initial stages of the route map for the development of a specific city into a smart city. After the study, it became clear that the concept of “smart city” is very broad, scientists are investing a huge number of parameters that characterize a smart city, but it was possible to identify common characteristics. Also, the hypothesis was tested that the city’s urbanization should be oriented towards the inhabitants of this city, i.е. implemented not by a single algorithm, but by an algorithm that is adapted to the needs of a particular city. We proposed a methodology for the preparatory stage of the city’s self-mastering, which is based on expert assessments by a prior ranking, includes 2 stages and which was tested on the example of Odessa (Ukraine). At the first stage, the questionnaire contained questions about the six main characteristics of a smart city. At this stage three characteristics were singled out, which are of particular concern to Odessa citizens and the second survey contained 36 clarifying questions only for these three characteristics. The results allowed to distinguish 6 characteristics from which it is necessary to start Odessa’s growth as a smart city.

Abstract:

Despite the increasing concerns about the importance of assessment, the studies that directly address the assessment beliefs and practices among Libyan secondary school English language teachers are scarce. The present study aimed to investigate the Libyan teachers’ classroom-based assessment beliefs and practices and the relationship between them. For this purpose, a total of 90 Libyan English teachers participated in a survey by responding to a questionnaire which explored their beliefs and practices in the four stages of assessment; namely, planning, implementing, monitoring and recording. Based on their perceptions, other than their confusion over ethical matters in assessment, the teachers’ beliefs and practices generally seemed to be at an acceptable level. The results also demonstrated that the relationship between teachers’ beliefs and practices is positively moderate and significant in all stages of assessment. The findings are expected to provide insights into the difficulties encountered by the language teachers and learners in the assessment processes, and therefore, enhance assessment practice and learning conditions.

Abstract:
Influenced by COVID-19 epidemic, students cannot learn PE course offline, and online live streaming becomes a main method under the epidemic situation. How to guarantee students’ learning quality at home and communication among students, parents and teachers is a matter of concern. Besides, traditional PE teaching model also has many defects, and students’ dependence on the teacher is strong. On this basis, the school + family community learning model was constructed in this study based on big data technique and online teaching under the COVID-19 epidemic situation. This model takes the collaboration among students, parents and teachers as the core and key, aims to improve teachers’ online teaching effect and students’ online learning quality, including four stages: connection stage, adaptation stage, proficiency stage and integration stage. In addition, this model was applied in PE teaching in combination of cooperative learning. Meanwhile, the main first-level evaluation indexes of the model were developed, including teaching and resource platform, infrastructure, environment and layout, IoT application, intelligent recording and playing, training scheme, intelligent control and perception. The teaching effect was verified by the questionnaire method, and the result demonstrates that the teaching model improves both teachers’ online teaching capability and students’ online learning quality.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to identify the effects of marketing capabilities in the digital environment on the company's performance. To test these effects, the data was obtained through a questionnaire-based survey on a sample of 38 companies that have operations in Romania. For the statistical processing of the data in the empirical research, we used the software program SPSS 23, and regarding the achievement of the objectives associated with the present research, the statistical analysis process of the data included several stages. The first stage is the calculation of the relative frequencies for the questions included in the questionnaire that concern aspects related to the firmographic characteristics linked to the investigated sample: the origin of the firm's capital, the number of employees, the turnover, the weight of the turnover realized on the account of legal and physical persons and the economic sector in which they carry out their activity. In the second stage, the reliability of the measurement scales used to deal with the constructs investigated in the present research was tested using the Cronbach coefficient α. In order to test the research hypotheses considered in this research, in the next stage, we used the confirmatory factorial analysis, with which we tested the factorial load of each item, and subsequently, we aggregated the respective items. The results suggest that the marketing capabilities in the digital environment have a positive effect on the 3 dimensions of performance analysed in this article (performance of customer relations, performance of the marketing of the company, the financial performance of the company) in an emerging economy.

Abstract:
The main goal of architectural education is to increase the independency level of students in finding design solutions throughout their academic years. Despite numerous educational attempts, the lack of supplementary educational methods or tools is still acknowledged by scholars. The present study aims to help students undergo a smooth transition from being highly dependent to minimally dependent on instructors by developing an auxiliary tool that may be used together with critique sessions in design studios. In this study, the critical stages in the design process adopted by students are identified through interviews with instructors and questionnaires for architecture students at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in Cyprus and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Basic theories are aligned with the needs and expectations of the chosen case studies to develop a user-friendly model in flash card format. The data analyses show that students and tutors all agree on the two main critical stages of design, namely data analysis and data development (synthesis) which ends with idea simulation. The developed model and the proposed flash cards attempt to connect these critical stages, which are usually skipped by students. Results show that students need to adopt and be equipped with sequences, priorities and creativity techniques in each step of the design process, and the proposed flash cards can help address this concern.

Abstract:
This study aims to identify the current status and prospect of ride-sharing service in Bangladesh from the users’ perspective. Data has been collected through a survey questionnaire from a sample of 164 respondents and analyzed using simple descriptive statistics. Findings show that ride-sharing services are emerging rapidly in Bangladesh as an alternative to traditional transportation because people prefer flexibility, convenience, time savings, and ease of use. The young generation is the top user of this service as they well equipped with the technologies required for this gig economy. Currently, Uber and Pathao, only two companies hold more than three-quarter of the market share because of their first mover advantage and availability in both car and motorbike segments. Further growth of this service is expected if major problems like concern over safety and security can overcome. Thus, this study would be useful for companies understanding users’ perception and improving their service quality.

Abstract:

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) athletes are subjected to a large and intensive training load that may cause injuries. These injuries can be detrimental to the physical and mental health of these athletes. In this regard, the aim of this study was to compare the self-reported health and mood states of BJJ athletes. Twenty-three BJJ athletes participated in the study. A questionnaire was used for general characterization of the athletes, which included the self-rated health question, and the Brunel Mood Scale – BRUMS were used. The mood profile was similar to the Iceberg profile. Athletes with regular health had lower vigor than athletes with excellent vigor. Lower vigor in athletes who reported regular health may be related to concern about injury. Specific strength training and careful execution of the technique should be emphasized in training.
