Abstract:
In the process of compiling the Dictionary of Tula Dialects (2007-2022), more than six hundred set phrases were identified, and a problem arose of their typology and linguistic interpretation. This article aims to solve the problem. The article is devoted to the question of selecting a special (terminological) vocabulary for a comprehensive explanatory dictionary and its lexicographic normalization (standardization). Of particular relevance, this problem occurs today, when there is an active replenishment of the terminology in various fields of science, technology, production, etc. The language policy regarding the dynamic nature of the norms of the literary language consists in its codification – the establishment of rules of use in dictionaries and grammar. Abstract Background: Real-world evidence (RWE) studies for surveillance patterns following lung cancer (LC) diagnosis can inform optimizing recommendations on surveillance and practice. One major obstacle in RWE studies for LC surveillance is the lack of radiologic imaging indication for surveillance vs. other reasons (e.g., symptoms). To enable RWE studies for surveillance to detect second primary lung cancer among LC survivors, we developed a hybrid modelling approach that integrates structured data from electronic health records (EHRs) with natural language processing (NLP) from radiology r

Modern linguistics focuses on recurrence as a feature and category of various units of language and speech. In this regard, the contrastive analysis of recurrence and reproducibility on the material of set units is particularly relevant. The author attempts to differentiate recurrence and reproducibility at the phrase level. The aims of the work are to establish and describe the linguistically significant parameters of the aphoristic units’ recurrence. The material of the study is about 1000 recurrent aphoristic units in modern Russian language. The units are taken from phraseological and pare

Introduction: Cancer patients have high risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE). The ability to accurately capture VTE outcome in large electronic health record (EHR) is critical for both surveillance and risk stratification. We previously published a rule-based natural language processing (NLP) algorithm that relied on radiology reports alone with a precision (positive predictive value) of 89% and recall (sensitivity) of 69-78% (sTable 5 PMID36626707). The low recall metric was expected as VTE diagnosis that occur at outside hospital would not be captured by radiology reports. In the current stu

Abstract:
Although the standard French norm prescribes that negation is marked twice in the verb phrase (ne…pas), contemporary usage prefers to drop the first element (ne) in Spoken French. In a 1981 article based on a corpus of Spoken French recorded in Tours in 1976, Ashby brought to light a significant co-variation/correlation between ne loss and speaker age: younger speakers dropped ne much more often than older speakers. This distribution seems to stem from a change in apparent time. However, as Labov (1994) notes, a linguistic feature that is more frequent in younger speakers does not necessarily
