Abstract:
NASA Standard 3000 - Human Systems Integration Standards (HSIS) — is a comprehensive collection of human-system interface requirements applicable to launch, entry, on-orbit, and extraterrestrial space environments. The entire document, intended for use by design engineers, systems engineers, maintainability engineers, operations analysts, human factors specialists, and others engaged in the definition and development of human space programs, was last updated in 1995. During the past four years, NASA Technology Development Projects have targeted the development of an infrastructure to successfully convert the existing document to a web-based application, and content updates have been proposed based on current knowledge from spaceflight experience or research. Electronic presentation, hyperlinked data cross-references and Internet publication will provide a variety of output products and/or presentation formats tailored to various user communities. The intent is to provide current, relevant data, maximize user access to current SHFE data via Internet distribution and transition to a “living document”, readily updateable as SHFE knowledge increases.

Abstract:
AbstractMulticolour photometry has historically been carried out within a variety of standard systems. With the advent of new detectors with different wavelength sensitivities to those of the original system and the use of subsets of secondary standards, many subtle and not so subtle changes have occurred to the original systems. However, by reverse engineering, the passbands of the modified standard systems can be determined which enables good realisation of theoretical colours and better passband matching for CCD-based photometry. In this paper, the various photometric systems will be discussed and compared and strategies will be outlined for ensuring that precise relative photometry is maintained in the future, in particular from area detectors.

Abstract:
Inverse systems of linear systemsThe concept of inverse systems for standard and positive linear systems is introduced. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the positive inverse system for continuous-time and discrete-time linear systems are established. It is shown that: 1) The inverse system of continuous-time linear system is asymptotically stable if and only if the standard system is asymptotically stable. 2) The inverse system of discrete-time linear system is asymptotically stable if and only if the standard system is unstable. 3) The inverse system of continuous-time and discrete-time linear systems are reachable if and only if the standard systems are reachable. The considerations are illustrated by numerical examples.

Abstract:
This paper presents a new non-standard technique for waveform synthesis in the time domain using L-systems, a formalism related to grammars, fractals and automata. This technique, developed as part of a larger-scale compositional system, is based on waveform segmentation and offers various methods for generating wavetables. The paper first introduces L-systems and some specifics of their interpretation and discusses extensions such as incorporating genetic algorithms and designing hierarchical L-systems and L-system networks. The second half describes the implementation model in detail, proposes some sound synthesis strategies and presents paths for further work.

AbstractLet (M, )⊨ ACA0 be such that , the collection of all unbounded sets in , admits a definable complete ultrafilter and let T be a theory extending first order arithmetic coded in such that M thinks T is consistent. We prove that there is an end-extension N ⊨ T of M such that the subsets of M coded in N are precisely those in . As a special case we get that any Scott set with a definable ultrafilter coding a consistent theory T extending first order arithmetic is the standard system of a recursively saturated model of T.

Abstract:
The Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud technologies are increasingly implemented in the form of Cyber-Physical Systems of Systems (CPSoS) for the railway sector. In order to satisfy the security requirements of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), domainspecific risk identification assessment procedures have been developed. Threat modelling is one of the most commonly used methods for threat identification for the security analysis of CPSoS and is capable of targeting various domains. This paper reports our experience of using a risk management framework identify the most critical security vulnerabilities in CPSoS in the domain and shows the broader impact this work can have on the domain of safety and security management. Moreover, we emphasize the application of common analytical methods for cyber-security based on international industry standards to identify the most vulnerable assets. These will be applied to a meta-model for automated railway systems in the concept phase to support the development and deployment of these systems. Furthermore, it is the first step to create a secure and standard complaint system by design.

Abstract:
There are different safety assessment standards of grounding systems in different countries. Some of standards are widely adopted in the world, such as IEEE-80-2000, IEC-471-1, EA-TS41-24 and BS7354. In order to choose reasonable safety assessment standard in the design of grounding system of substation, these four standards are compared using a practical case. It showed that BS7354 is more conservative than IEEE-80-2000 and EA-TS41-24, and the definitions of allowable current are different between IEEE-80-2000 and IEC-471-1.

Abstract:
Many engineering design problems require reference to standards or codes of practice to ensure that acceptable safety and performance criteria are met. Extracting relevant data from such documents can, however, be a problem for the unfamiliar user. The use of expert systems to guide the retrieval of information from standards and codes of practice is proposed as a means of alleviating this problem. Following a brief introduction to expert system techniques, a tool developed by the authors for building expert system guides to standards and codes of practice is described. The steps involved in encoding the knowledge contained in an arbitrarily chosen standard are illustrated. Finally, a typical consultation illustrates the use of the expert system guide to the standard.

We are preparing a microfiche, at the Stellar Data Center in Strasbourg, concerning standard stars in various systems which will be included with the proceedings of this meeting. In the first part of the microfiche we will present a list of stars which are standards in spectroscopic, photometric systems or for which fundamental determinations of temperature, gravity, radius or mass have been made or for which spectrophotometry has been done, fluxes measured or [Fe/H] determined. If a star is a standard in one of these systems an X will be placed in the column opposite its name.
