Abstract:
Background: Professionally topical fluoride such as fluoride varnish was approved for preventing and remineralizing dental caries in primary and permanent dentitions. As such, fluoride varnish occupies a privileged place since it is the only topical fluoride for professional use applicable for children under 6 years of age, due to its simplicity, speed, rapidity and safety of use. The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of professional fluoride varnish in preventing and managing dental caries in primary teeth. Method: A systematic search of publications from 2013 to 2020 was cond

Brief Background The present in vitro study evaluated the effectiveness of Fluoride Vanish and Silver Diamine Fluoride in preventing enamel demineralization around orthodontic brackets, using a UV light on a group of extracted teeth with bonded brackets. Materials and Methods In this study, 30 samples of extracted human permanent teeth with bonded orthodontic brackets were separated into control group I (no fluoride varnish), experimental group II (fluoride varnish was applied), and experimental group III (fluoride varnish with SDF) to examine the preventive effects of fluoride on enamel demin

We studied the acute and sub-acute toxicity of Combretum dolichopetalum leaves in experimental mice and rats respectively using standard techniques. The LD50 of the methanol extract of Combretum dolichopetalum leaves as carried out in experimental mice was obtained as more than 5000 mg/kg body weight. Administration of graded doses (100, 200, 400 and 800 mg/kg) of the extract for 21 days resulted in increases in body weights, white blood cells (WBC), Neutrophils, red blood cells (RBC), packed cell volume (PCV), haemoglobin (HGB), mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and mean cell haemoglobin (MCH) of

Let us tear our thoughts away from the image of David basted in oil and consider the extract as one of innumerable examples of the media fascination with Beckham. Given his penetration in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa, we can take as self-evident that Beckham is a quantifiably significant figure in contemporary global

Abstract Antonio Stradivari, whose early works and experiments have already been described (p. 197), continued to make violins steadily until the end of his long life (1737), a career uniquely distinguished by its productivity and consistent output of extraordinary instruments. Having abandoned his ‘long’ model violin about 1700, Stradivari produced shortly afterwards a ‘classical’ model which embodied the tonal and acoustical principles that served him to the end of his life.1 The earliest celebrated example of this model was the ‘Betts’ violin of 1704 (Plate 33a), with which Stradivari enter

Abstract:
Porosity is a common defect observed in underwater wet welding. Several research programs have been developed to understand how pores form in order to mitigate the problem. No superficial pores and a limited number of internal pores (based on size) are important requirements to classify underwater wet welds according to the American Welding Society – AWS D3.6M standard. The main objective of this work is to study the effect of base metal and core rod carbon content on weld metal porosity. A pressure chamber with 20 atmospheres capacity was used to simulate depth with fresh water. To perform th
