Abstract:
This work provides an institutional, legal and policy review of crucial aspects of land records modernisation systems in Haryana. The state offers a unique window into the regional diversity of land systems in India; it underwent a large-scale land consolidation exercise in 1950s, and features rectangular land parcels of equal area, and a share-system of joint landholdings with limited spatial demarcation. Technologically, the state has an integrated system of land record management, and continues to make advances. Haryana is also one of the country’s most prolific real estate markets, attract

Abstract:
Flooding is a major source of concern for Texas’ coastal communities. It affects the quality of infrastructure, the lives of citizens, and the ecological systems upon which coastal communities in Texas rely. To plan for and mitigate the impacts of flooding, Texas coastal communities may implement land use tools such as zoning, drainage utility systems, eminent domain, exactions, and easements. Additionally, these communities can benefit from understanding how flooding affects water quality and the tools available to restore water bodies to healthy water quality levels. Finally, implementing ad

Abstract:
Several legal frameworks exist that are important for states conducting ocean observing activities or for which it would be relevant to include the necessity of ocean observing activities and development of ocean information products. Existing hard and soft law frameworks and mechanisms will be analysed to enable adequate adaptation of ocean observing system design at a regional and global level, with a focus on supporting sustained ocean observing and fit-for-purpose ocean information products.

Abstract:
In 2015, Nepal adopted a federal system of governance abandoning the previous centralized, unitary, feudal and autocratic system to address systemic exclusion and discrimination. The Constitution of Nepal devolved state power amongst three spheres of government. Entrenched into five separate lists, these powers are both exclusive and concurrent. However, many of the powers that look exclusive at the onset are essentially concurrent due to the widespread duplication of subject areas within and across these lists. Against this backdrop, I argue that the pervasiveness of concurrency in Nepal’s di

This work provides an institutional, legal and policy review of crucial aspects of land records modernisation systems in Gujarat. Recognising the significance of land and its management for the state economy, Gujarat was among the early states to computerise its land records and processes and integrate them. In 2009, the state introduced resurveys using modern technology, which resulted in promulgation of updated records in more than sixty percent of villages, before being paused in 2018. Apart from political leadership, administrative initiatives such as documenting procedures and operational
