Hegemony is viewed through the lens of the state-labor partial regime in post-authoritarian Chile. A review of the hegemonic "debate" reveals that agricultural labor was excluded from labor incorporation in 1932. Rural labor's subsequent superexploitation subsidized industrial workers with cheap production of wage goods. Agricultural workers' incorporation in the mid-1960s unified the workforce and initiated the organic crisis that intensified with the election of a Socialist executive. This study is an attempt to contribute to the emerging theoretical literature on state repression. A time-series model was developed to test the hypothesis that state violence in Argentina and Chile is largely a function of four internal political factors and their interactions: 1) the inertial influence of past restrictive policies on the formulation of current policies, 2) the annual incidence of political protest demonstrations, 3) the perceived effectiveness of repressive measures on unrest, 4) and the institutionalization of military rule.

In order to study this relation, the thesis begins by analysing the effects that Bourbon reformism —the first attempt to modernize the state institutionally— had in Chile. Special emphasis is placed on the attitude of the ruling èlite vis-à-vis these reforms (Part I). Abstract:
For noncustodial fathers, having legal rights and leaving an inheritance to their child or children are important aspects of being an active father. Georgia state law sees a difference between paternity and legitimation, and for some noncustodial fathers, although paternity is established and they are responsible for supporting that child financially and medically as deemed through child support enforcement, they have no legal rights to their children, nor can they petition the courts for visitation until legitimation is established.
