Abstract:
This study evaluated the validity of the Static-99 and Static-99R in assessing sexual recidivism in Switzerland, based on a sample of 142 male sex offenders. Both tools showed predictive validity, but the Static-99R had better discrimination (OR = 1.82, AUC = .81) and calibration (Brier = .078, P/E = 0.96) than the Static-99. A cut score of four on the Static-99R maximized sensitivity (92.9%) and specificity (60.2%). However, although most offenders (98.7%) with a score < 4 did not commit sexual offenses in the 5-year follow-up period, only one in five (20.3%) offenders with a score ≥ 4 act

The predictive validity of the Static-99 measures with ethnic minorities in the United States has only recently been assessed with mixed results. We assessed the predictive validity of the Static-99 and Static-99R with a sample of Latino sex offenders ( N = 483) as well as with two subsamples (U.S.-born, including Puerto Rico, and non-U.S.-born). The overall sexual recidivism rate was very low (1.9%). Both the Static-99 measures were able to predict sexual recidivism for offenders born in the United States and Puerto Rico, but neither was effective in doing so for other Latino immigrants. Cali

Abstract:
The use of Static tools (Static-99, Static-99R, Static-2002, and Static-2002R) in risk decision making involving sexual offenders is widespread internationally. This study compared the predictive accuracy and incremental validity of four Static risk measures in a sample of 621 Australian sexual offenders. Results indicated that approximately 45% of the sample recidivated (with 18.8% committing sexual offenses). All of the Static measures investigated yielded moderate predictive validity for sexual recidivism, which was comparable with other Australian and overseas studies. Area under the curve

This study examines the integration of statistical and psychological risk factors using psychometric markers of psychopathology and psychosexual characteristics from the Static-99 in 119 sexual offenders. Psychological risk markers are combined to approximate four deviancy domains: sexual interests, distorted attitudes, socio-affective functioning, and self-management. The sexual interests domain predicts sexual reconviction independent of Static-99. The four deviancy domains are used to calculate the Psychological Deviance Index, which was also found to predict sexual reconviction independent

Abstract:
Recidivism within the sexually violent predator (SVP) population has gained worldwide attention because of the lack of protection offered to the victims that may lead to loss of life. Behavioral theory suggests that accuracy of predictive behaviors based on empirical judgement is more reliable than that based on clinical judgement. The purpose of this research was to see whether three actuarial assessment tools, Static-99, PCL-R, and MnSOST-R, could predict recidivism and whether the combination of the three-increased predictive value in the Texas SVP population.

During this time, COVID-19 has affected the lifestyles of many individuals; in the meantime, an enormous amount of users are connected with the internet. This will also increase the chance of network intrusion due to congestion and overloading of the server. So, to cope with this problem, the authors proposed an automated intrusion detection system (IDS) which helps in monitoring the traffic and service request. The model is used to identify the illegal access and counterparts with static checking capabilities of the firewall. The classical KDDCup 99 dataset is used for training and testing purposes.

Abstract:
Radiation environment generates high soft error rates in conventional SRAM. To overcome this issue, several radiation hardened by design SRAM circuits (12TRHBD, 13TRHBD, DICE, etc.) have been developed. Although many of the radiation hardened SRAM cells are there, all the circuits mainly concern a single node upset only. In this chapter, 16T radiation hardened static random-access memory bit cell is designed and verified for a single node and multi-node upset. RHBD 16T bit cell is designed with SAED-PDK 32nm technology and compared with recently reported RHBD 12T and has a 99% improvement in recovery rate. Simulation results show that RHBD 16T is more resilient to a single node and multi-node upset. This shows that the proposed RHBD16T cell is highly tolerant against radiation strikes.

Abstract:
In this chapter, machine learning application on facial expression recognition (FER) is studied for seven emotional states (disgust, joy, surprise, anger, sadness, contempt, and fear) based on FER describing coefficient. FER has many practical importance in various area like social network, robotics, healthcare, etc. Further, a literature review of existing machine learning approaches for FER is discussed, and a novel approach for FER is given for static and dynamic images. Then the results are compared with the other existing approaches. The chapter also covers additional related issues of applications, various challenges, and opportunities in future FER. For security-based face detection systems that can identify an individual, in any form of expression he introduces himself. Doctors will use this system to find the intensity of illness or pain of a deaf and dumb patient. The proposed model is based on machine learning application with three types of prototypes, which are pre-trained model, single layer augmented model, and multi-layered augmented model, having a combined accuracy of approx. 99%.

Abstract:
The Press-in-Place (PIP) gasket is a static face seal with self-retaining feature, which is used for the mating surfaces of engine components to maintain the reliability of the closed system under various operating conditions. Its design allows it to provide enough contact pressure to seal the internal fluid as well as prevent mechanical failures. Insufficient sealing pressure will lead to fluid leakage, consequently resulting in engine failures. A test fixture was designed to simulate the clamp load and internal pressure condition on a gasket bolted joint. A Sensor pad using TEKSCAN equipment
