Nesta dissertação são analisadas 34 provas de carga estática realizadas em estacas pré-moldadas de concreto, cravadas em diferentes locais da cidade de Curitiba e região metropolitana, sendo a maioria delas na Formação Guabirotuba. Três métodos de previsão da capacidade foram analisados: Aoki – Velloso (1975), Décourt – Quaresma (1978) e Amaral (1982, 1999). Full-scale lateral load tests were performed on a pile cap with five backfill conditions: no backfill, densely compacted fine gravel, loosely compacted fine gravel, densely compacted coarse gravel, and loosely compacted coarse gravel. Static loads, applied by hydraulic load actuators, were followed by low-frequency, actuator-driven cyclic loads as well as higher frequency dynamic loads from an eccentric mass shaker. A series of large-scale pavement model tests were conducted in a laboratory environment to investigate the effect of geosynthetics in improving the modulus of weak subgrades. Then, a series of supplement design charts that could be useful for industry practitioners to design geosynthetic reinforced flexible pavements were developed.
