Abstract:

Introducción: El presente estudio examina la relación y variación anual de seis empresas consideradas como pequeñas y medianas dedicadas a la pulverización de piedra para la fabricación de áridos de la ciudad de Guayaquil, analizando variables de costos, producción y ventas en un periodo de cinco años antes de la pandemia. Objetivo: Analizar de una manera multivariante los costos de seis empresas pymes del sector de áridos en Ecuador, para conocer el impacto de la producción, ventas y costos y conocer la relación de estas en seis años de estudio. Metodología: Se uso el método multivariante STATICO, para analizar la relación y el efecto de las variables en las empresas en los diferentes periodos. Resultados: Los resultados revelaron que cinco de las seis empresas tienen un comportamiento similar en la estructura del análisis, donde Covitan presento un comportamiento diferente. Así mismos se observó que las ventas presentan una alta relación con los costos Variables en las Pymes. Conclusiones: Se demostró que el análisis STATICO mejora el conocimiento de la dinámica de los conjuntos de empresa-variables. Área de estudio general: Ingeniería, industria y construcción. Área de estudio específica: Producción minería e industrias extractivas.

Abstract:

Trawling pressure and environmental changes may affect the composition of fish assemblages. Our knowledge on large spatio-temporal patterns of demersal fish composition remains incomplete for the Mediterranean Sea. We investigated (1) the spatio-temporal stability of demersal assemblages, (2) the relationships between these assemblages and potential structuring factors (trawling pressure and environmental conditions) in order to assess the dynamic of the assemblage structure at the scale of the northern Mediterranean Sea. We analysed a dataset of 18062 hauls from 10 to 800 m depth performed annually during the last two decades across 17 Geographical Sub-Areas (GSAs) (MEDITS program). A multi-table analysis (STATICO-CoA) evidenced a strong inter-GSAs stability in the organization of assemblages, with specificities for some GSAs. The most stable structuring factors were linked to combined gradients of chlorophyll a, phytoplancton carbon biomass and temperature, inversely correlated with depth, salinity and nutrient gradients (axis 1 of the STATICO-CoA compromise, 93.74% of the total variability). A common pattern linking the distribution of species to these environmental gradients was evidenced for most of the 17 GSAs. Estimate of trawling pressure showed a minor role in the organization of the assemblages for the spatial scale and years investigated (axis 2, 4.67%).

The check of the stability of banks towards the slidings always crosses by the adoption of empirical global safety factors result, generally, of the study of the break along the deep surface of sliding. The mechanical model suited to this mode of break is subject to controversy. In this article we propose a mechanical model of calculation for the break along the deep surface of sliding based on the kinematic method of the stiff solids (limit analysis). A comparison of this model proposed with the conventional model was led according to the statico-probability concept of security. The reliability of the system is expressed by means of the indication of reliability β.

La maggior parte delle classificazioni dei modi di costruire murari si basa sugli aspetti formali delle superfici visibili, con certe utilità nel distinguere le unità stratigrafiche murarie e negli aspetti estetici delle superfici stesse. Dal momento però che i muri fanno parte delle strutture portanti più importanti, non si può parlare di tecniche murarie senza cercare di capire come i vari tipi classificati si comportino realmente dal punto di vista statico. Si cerca perciò di verificare e in qualche modo di capire l’intero volume di ogni tecnica muraria, e se vi siano della regole generali o particolari che siano in qualche modo deducibili anche dalle superfici visibili. Si propone infine una classificazione delle «famiglie» di tecniche murarie più note sulla base dei loro sistemi costruttivi e funzionali, oltre che formali.

Come emerge da una lunga tradizione psicodinamica, diverse linee di ricerca empirica oggi convergono nel suggerire che personalità e psicopatologia possono essere integrate in un modello gerarchico. Vengono innanzitutto riassunte le prove empiriche a sostegno di due presupposti chiave dell'approccio psicodinamico alla personalità e alla psicopatologia: 1) è necessario che un approccio evolutivo centrato sulla persona si integri con un approccio statico centrato sul disturbo; 2) è meglio concettualizzare la personalità e la psicopatologia come tentativi di adattamento. La ricerca in queste aree supporta l'idea che la personalità e la psicopatologia sono difficili da separare e possono essere moderate dalla gravità della psicopatologia. Viene poi discusso un nuovo approccio socio-comunicativo allo sviluppo umano che suggerisce che la personalità e la psicopatologia vanno concettualizzate come un disturbo della comunicazione sociale, e che la loro presunta rigidità e stabilità sono meglio spiegate dai fattori ambientali che le sostengono piuttosto che da tratti stabili della personalità. Vengono infine discusse le implicazioni di queste concezioni anche per il trattamento.

La tasa de crecimiento económico es diferente entre áreas o regiones, y estas divergencias generan un impacto potencial en la calidad de vida. La ocurrencia de la crisis financiera y económica de 2008, puede fortalecer estas brechas. El crecimiento económico en este análisis incluye seis niveles de tasas de crecimiento del producto interno bruto (PIBgr) y siete variables con implicaciones directas en la calidad de vida de las familias. Las observaciones son quince países de la UE, organizados en tres grupos: el norte, el centro y el sur. El método STATICO (Simier et al., 1999) utilizado en esta investigación es un análisis multivariante de tres vías apoyado en un análisis triádico parcial (PTA, Thioulose y Chessel, 1987) para encontrar la parte estable de la estructura de una serie de tablas del 2006 al 2014, sobre una estructura común resultante del análisis de co-inercia (Dolédec y Chessel, 1994) aplicado a cada par de tablas de crecimiento económico y tablas de calidad de vida. Con este método se pudo extraer la parte estable de las relaciones comunes de crecimiento económico-calidad de vida y analizar las influencias de la crisis financiera de 2008.

Downy mildew symptoms were observed on all aboveground statice parts. Peronospora statices develops on plants during whole vegetation period and even in wintertime, when the temperature rises above 5°C. Even on partially protected plantations most plants die in the second-year of growth. Among statice plants three groups related to plants and leaves shape can be distinguished: very susceptible, moderately susceptible and tolerant. No resistant plants were found.

Nell'essere umano i livelli di coscienza condizionano le modalità diverse di relazione e di percezione della realtà. Il livello della coscienza primaria è quello della coscienza dell'Io e corrisponde alla percezione individuale di una personalità che tende a rimanere stabile e che si rapporta in modo interdipendente e tendenzialmente statico con gli altri. La coscienza di ordine superiore è quella del Soggetto riflessivo individuale, che se consapevole di sè si pone come centro organizzatore dinamico della personalità e interagisce con l'altro accettando una reciproca e mutevole dipendenza. La consapevolezza di essere Soggetto in relazione è un livello di coscienza di ordine superiore più ampio, che permette la co-riflessione con l'altro Soggetto in un rapporto di intersoggettività. La psicopatologia delle tre principali organizzazioni di personalità - nevrotica, borderline, psicotica - si articola in questi tre livelli di coscienza e condiziona la relazione con il terapeuta. La cura coincide con lo stimolo alla funzione riflessiva del Soggetto, intesa come la capacità di autosservarsi, di percepire il proprio e altrui mondo emotivo e inconscio, di mentalizzare e di far evolvere la modalità di relazione dall'interdipendenza simbiotica all'intersoggettività.

Abstract In questo scritto si esamina la durata nel tempo della legislazione che richiede ispezioni periodiche dei veicoli a motore.Il risultato è che queste leggi hanno una vita molto lunga, anche quando i loro vantaggi in termini di sicurezza sono del tutto scomparsi. In particolare, l’efficienza di queste leggi diminuisce con il mutamento, nel corso del tempo, della tecnologia delle automobili, delle strade e delle stesse abitudini di guida.Dopo aver sintetizzato la storia e la situazione corrente della legislazione sulle ispezioni automobilistiche, viene qui riformulato il modello per l’esame degli incident! stradali che era stato utilizzato nel 1982 dal New Jersey Institute of Technology, che era giunto alia conclusione che il programma di ispezioni ha salvato quattrocento vite umane a partire dalla sua prima introduzione.La riformulazione del modello, tenendo conto dell’interdipendenza tra le ispezioni e gli altri elementi che influenzano la sicurezza autostradale, fa concludere che le ispezioni non hanno avuto un effetto costante nel corso del tempo. Al contrario, i risultati dimostrano che gli effetti delle ispezioni sono diminuiti anno dopo anno.Questi risultati fanno, pertanto, ritenere che la regolamentazione della sicurezza non possa essere attuata in termini di un modello puramente statico, come invece viene spesso fatto, a motivo delle pressioni dei gruppi d’interesse.

L’évaluation des effets de la relaxation envisagée comme psychothérapie à médiation corporelle est une tâche complexe. Il s’agit d’apprécier les interactions et les liens entre corps et psychisme comme les deux pôles d’une seule et même entité. Nous cherchons à estimer un point de départ (le test) et, puisque le thème de notre forum concerne les processus de changement au cours des relaxations psychothérapiques, un point d’évolution (le retest). Nous avons trouvé dans la littérature consacrée au sujet des méthodologies ou des échelles d’évaluation permettant de mesurer des données psychologiques, physiologiques, émotionnelles, comportementales, mentales de la réponse relaxation. L’appréciation se fait majoritairement, sous forme de questionnaire, d’autoquestionnaire ou de monitoring en « bio-feedback ». De plus, en tant que psychomotricienne et thérapeute en relaxation Statico-Dynamique, nous nous sommes particulièrement intéressés à l’évaluation de la proprioception, du schéma corporel, et de la tonicité musculaire en lien avec le facteur émotionnel. Nous avons donc intégré dans notre pratique clinique une évaluation psychomotrice de la relaxation. Nous vous présenterons notre protocole. Puis, nous exposerons les résultats d’évaluations menées auprès de patients suivis en CSAPA (Centre de Soins d’Accompagnement et de Prévention en Addictologie). Nous discuterons des cas cliniques en réfléchissant à la pertinence de notre outil comme indicateur de changement.

In questa rifrazione gioca il ruolo determinante l’alterità. Produrre e comprendere segni significa partecipare ai processi comunicativi. Il segnico è il campo dell’ambivalenza in cui tutto si decide per relazioni e pratiche sociali (Bachtin). Abstract:

Lobiettivo di questo studio è stato quello di valutare la funzione utricolare e la funzione dei canali semicircolari laterali in pazienti con diabete mellito di tipo 2, con o senza cadute, afferenti allassistenza sanitaria di base. Sono stati arruolati 101 pazienti con diabete mellito di tipo 2 (26 con storia di cadute, 75 senza), di età compresa tra 34 e 84 anni, e 51 volontari sani di età compresa tra 40 e 83 anni, i quali hanno negato vertigini, capogiri, instabilità, ipoacusia o disordini neurologici. Nessuno di loro era in cerca di cure per deficit sensoriali o dellequilibrio. Dopo aver effettuato una valutazione clinica e dopo aver indagato i sintomi relativi alla sfera dellequilibrio con lausilio di un questionario standardizzato, la funzione dei canali semicircolari laterali è stata studiata con il test sinusoidale alle velocità di 0,16 Hz e 1,28 Hz (il picco della velocità è stato fissato a 60°/s); la funzione otolitica, invece, è stata studiata con la verticale visiva soggettiva, determinata sia tramite test statico sia tramite test dinamico, durante centrifugazione unilaterale (300°/s a 3.5 cm); è stata eseguita inoltre la posturografia statica, su pedana soffice e dura, ad occhi aperti e chiusi. Confrontando i risultati ottenuti nei pazienti diabetici e in quelli sani, i pazienti diabetici hanno mostrato risposte inferiori alla centrifugazione unilaterale, ma risposte simili alla stimolazione dei canali semicircolari laterali, indipendentemente da età, neuropatie periferiche o storia di cadute (ANCoVA p < 0.05). I pazienti con storia di cadute, rispetto a quelli senza storia di cadute, erano per lo più donne e hanno raggiunto più facilmente un punteggio maggiore o pari a 4 al questionario sui sintomi relativi al senso dellequilibrio; tuttavia i due gruppi hanno mostrato simili età, indice di massa corporea e neuropatia periferica. Nei pazienti con diabete di tipo 2, afferenti allassistenza sanitaria di base e non in cerca di cure per deficit sensoriali o dellequilibrio, la funzione utricolare potrebbe essere alterata, anche in assenza di disfunzione dei canali semicircolari laterali o di storia di cadute.

This study investigated whether the multispectral vertical diffuse attenuation coefficient of downward irradiance (Kd) gradients could be a good framework for accessing phytoplankton genera. In situ measurements of remote sensing reflectance (Rrs), obtained in an Amazon Floodplain Lake (Lago Grande do Curuai), were used to invert Kd, focusing on Sentinel-3/Ocean and Land Color Instrument (OLCI) sensor bands. After that, an analysis based on the organization of three-way tables (STATICO) was applied to evaluate the relationships between phytoplankton genera and Kd at different OLCI bands. Our results indicate that phytoplankton genera are organized according to their ability to use light intensity and different spectral ranges of visible light (400 to 700 nm). As the light availability changes seasonally, the structure of phytoplankton changes as well. Some genera, such as Microcystis, are adapted to low light intensity at 550–650 nm, therefore high values of Kd in this range would indicate the dominance of Microcysts. Other genera, such as Aulacoseira, are highly adapted to harvesting blue-green light with higher intensity and probably grow in lakes with lower concentrations of colored dissolved organic matter that highly absorbs blue light (405–498). These findings are an important step to describing phytoplankton communities using orbital data in tropical freshwater floodplains. Furthermore, this approach can be used with biodiversity indexes to access phytoplankton diversity in these environments.

A la Réunion, l’insularité et la petite dimension des exploitations font que l’amélioration de la productivité dans les élevages bovins passe par un accroissement de la maîtrise technique. Afin d’analyser les relations entre les pratiques de conduite et les performances animales, dix élevages bovins naisseurs situés dans les Hauts de la Réunion ont fait l’objet d’un suivi de 1999 à 2002. Les données collectées ont été organisées en trois tableaux composés respectivement de 4, 8 et 3 variables : les performances animales (intervalle vêlage-vêlage, taux de mise bas, poids à âge type, production bovine de viande vive), les pratiques (temps de présence à l’hectare et par parcelle, temps d’interpassage, taille des parcelles, chargement, complémentation des broutards et des vaches, taux de réforme) et le milieu (pluviométrie, volume d’herbe, état corporel des vaches). Les deux premiers tableaux ont été soumis à une analyse de co-inertie afin d’analyser les relations entre performances zootechniques et pratiques des éleveurs. Les deux tableaux étaient significativement corrélés et les résultats de l’analyse de co-inertie ont été interprétés à l’échelle de chaque exploitation. Au-delà de contraintes spécifiques, ils ont révélé des proximités entre exploitations et entre modes de conduite fondés sur des stratégies variées en cohérence avec les performances observées. Une analyse Statico a été réalisée afin d’évaluer la liaison entre les paramètres de performances et ceux du milieu pour les quatre années étudiées. Elle a montré qu’il existait une costructure stable entre les tableaux milieu et performances, suggérant un effet très structurant des pratiques sur les performances et l’existence de régulations du système qui modèrent les effets du climat.

The shallow S-wave velocity model is difficult to accurately obtain in seismic exploration, resulting in poor imaging quality when traditional static correction methods are applied to PS-waves. Moreover, unlike for PP-waves, identifying an interface near the water table to use as the datum for PS-waves is almost impossible in many cases. We have developed a case history of joint consistent static correction for PP- and PS-waves of Basin A in Sichuan province, China. In our workflow, crosscorrelation calculation is performed on PP-wave common shotpoint and common receiver-point stacked sections and PS-wave common receiver-point stacked sections to jointly obtain stable shot and receiver statics of PP- and PS-waves. Based on the similarity between the PP-wave and the PS-wave events from the same interface, P-wave statics are used to constrain the calculation of S-wave statics. For comparison, conventional refraction static correction is implemented on the research data. Results show that both approaches produce comparable results for PP-waves, but the PS-wave results from the conventional approach indicate apparent residual statics. This case history demonstrates that joint consistent static correction can effectively solve the static correction problems of multicomponent seismic data and significantly improve the imaging quality.

In order to improve ability of walking and crossing the barriers , increase the carrying capacity, and enhance its popularity and adaptability, a novel lower limb bionic leg is presented based on 3-UPS parallel mechanism, which has the characteristics of movement flexible and strong adaptability. It is very important analysis to statics of lower limb bionic leg. Firstly, statics equation of the lower limb bionic leg of driving force and output force is established based on virtual work principle. Secondly, static performance evaluation index is defined and the evaluation index distribution map is drawn. The relationship between the structure parameters and the static performance evaluation indexes is analyzed, obtained the influence of structure parameters on the static performance evaluation index, and a set of reasonable structural parameters is selected. The circum-radius of moving platform is 50mm, the circum-radius of the static platform is 150mm, the moving platform angle and static platform angle are equal to 60°, the lower limb bionic leg has the best load carrying capacity. Thirdly, the lower limb bionic leg is designed based on statics analysis and structure parameters optimization. Analysis results show that the lower limb bionic leg has good static transmission performance at the initial position, and the static transmission performance decreases with increasing turning workspace. The static transmission performance decreases with z axle displacement increasing. The analysis results laid a foundation for further analysis and research of the lower limb bionic leg.

Static correction is an essential step in seismic processing and it has an effect on the later steps of seismic processing, including velocity analysis, data stacking, and seismic inversion. During seismic data acquisition, a receiving point usually sets a geophone several times to receive the seismic data. The same geophone cannot be set at the same receiving point every time. If the geophones have different delay time, then the common receiving-point gather (CRG) will have multiple receiver statics. However, the receiver statics of a CRG are considered the same in conventional static correction. In this paper, based on common attitude gather (CAG), a novel static correction method is proposed to analyze the receiver statics of a CRG. Attitude indicates the tilt angles of the three components of a geophone. According to the different attitudes of geophones, CRG can be divided into multiple CAGs. When the difference technique is used to the novel method and the conventional method, the statics are analyzed with CAGs and CRGs, respectively. A field example demonstrates that the proposed method cannot only enhance the continuity of the event in the shot gather, but also smooth the gaps of the event in the CRG. The results suggest that the proposed method can eliminate the effect of differences in delay time of geophones on static correction.

The processing of converted‐wave (P-SV) seismic data requires certain special considerations, such as commonconversion‐point (CCP) binning techniques (Tessmer and Behle, 1988) and a modified normal moveout formula (Slotboom, 1990), that makes it different for processing conventional P-P data. However, from the processor’s perspective, the most problematic step is often the determination of residual S‐wave statics, which are commonly two to ten times greater than the P‐wave statics for the same location (Tatham and McCormack, 1991). Conventional residualstatics algorithms often produce numerous cycle skips when attempting to resolve very large statics. Unlike P‐waves, the velocity of S‐waves is virtually unaffected by near‐surface fluctuations in the water table (Figure 1). Hence, the P‐wave and S‐wave static solutions are largely unrelated to each other, so it is generally not feasible to approximate the S‐wave statics by simply scaling the known P‐wave static values (Anno, 1986).

The “classical” chaos of deterministic systems is characteristic for the motion of dynamical systems. Recently, some attempts were made to find static analogies of chaos [Thompson & Virgin, 1988; Naschie & Athel, 1989; Naschie, 1989]. However, this was considered for structures in specific artificial conditions (for example, infinitely long bars with sinusoidal geometric imperfections) transferring de facto the boundary value problem (which always describes static deformation of structures) into an initial value problem characteristic for problems of motion. In this article, chaotic (unpredictable) behavior is described for a usual (not special) nonlinear structure in statics, which is governed, naturally, by a boundary value problem in a finite interval of the argument. The behavior of this structure (geometrically nonlinear plate), which is an example of the class of static chaotic structures, is investigated by a new geometrical approach called the “deformation map.” The presented results are one of the first steps in the chapter of chaos in statics, and therefore the link between “classical” and static chaos needs further investigations.

It is often believed that the effect of tomographic inversion static correction is better than the effect of refraction static correction. But it is not true. This paper summarized the applicable conditions, advantages and disadvantages of these two methods. In low mountains areas, the effect of tomographic inversion static correction is better than the effect of refraction static correction. However, in loess tableland areas, the effect of refraction static correction is almost the same as the effect of tomographic inversion static correction. It can’t reflect the advantages of tomographic inversion static correction. All of the above is proved from models and sections. So each technique must meet its applicable conditions to reflect its superiorities. Integrated application of static correction methods is effective to solve the complex surface statics problems.

Also, it is necessary for reactive power to be compensated because the most of industrial loads is inductive and make a lagging displacement power factor. Reactive power compensation utilizing STATCOM is one of the most important methods to improve power quality. In this paper, the technical feature of STATCOM is introduced and then a comparison with SVC is made. The effect of STATCOM on static voltage stability in power systems has been studied. Based on PSD-BPA software, effect of STATCOM is determined. Static voltage stability margin enhancement using STATCOM and SVC is compared in the modified IEEE 14-bus test system. Test results show very encouraging result.

The hip joint is one of the body's important joints, most of the lower limb activities of the human body are inseparable from the hip joint, a novel bionic robot hip joint was proposed based on 3-DOF spherical parallel mechanism. The statics performance of the bionic robot hip joint was analyzed, and the structure parameters were designed. First, the static transmission equation of the bionic robot hip joint was established using the principle of virtual works, which simplifies the calculation process of the bionic robot hip joint. Further, using the norm in Matrix theory, the force Jacobian matrix was introduced into the statics performance evaluation index, and the statics performance evaluation index and the global torque performance evaluation index was defined, and the performance atlas of the statics performance evaluation index was plotted at the workspace of the bionic robot hip joint. Moreover the objective optimal function was established basing on the global torque performance evaluation index, and the relation of the objective optimal function and the global torque performance evaluation index were analyzed. By use of fully automatic searching method, the optimal structural parameter ranges of the bionic robot hip joint were obtained. Analysis results show that the bionic robot hip joint has good static transmission performance at initial position, and the static transmission performance is decreased with increasing the workspace. Finally, using a set of optimal structural sizes parameters, a novel bionic robot hip joint was designed, which established the theoretical foundation for the bionic robot design and apply.

L'articolo descrive le principali caratteristiche del Sistema Informativo (SIS) dei programmi di screening oncologico in Italia(PS). Il SIS č organizzato per rispondere al bisogno conoscitivo di valutare la qualitŕ dei PS e la loro effectiveness. Tale bisogno si declina differentemente a seconda dell'interlocutore che, in effetti, puň esprimere un interesse informativo con prioritŕ diverse. Sono state nel tempo studiate e selezionate diverse variabili, sulla base delle loro caratteristiche di qualitŕ informativa, che vengono raccolte annualmente in survey nazionali. La fonte dei dati sono i sistemi gestionali dei PS Il SIS permette di produrre numerosi indicatori che derivano dalle Linee Guida Europee e che rispondono alle seguenti necessitŕ di monitoraggio e valutazione: - un PS č un percorso e non l'esecuzione di un test e dunque bisogna misurare la qualitŕ del percorso oltre che la singola prestazione; - un PS č rivolto a una popolazione asintomatica e quindi deve tenere conto della sensibilitŕ (capacitŕ di individuare i portatori della lesione di interesse) ma anche della specificitŕ (capacitŕ di individuare e dunque non esaminare ulteriormente e soprattutto non trattare chi non č portatore della lesione di interesse). Sulla base del Piano Nazionale della Prevenzione 2010-12, il SIS entrerŕ a far parte del nuovo sistema sanitario nazionale basato su un datawarehouse nazionale di dati individuali. L'intera esperienza dei PS in Italia si candida ad essere un prototipo di una governance innovativa nel panorama di devoluzione del sistema sanitario, contribuendo a identificare strumenti nuovi e a costruire una conoscenza piů approfondita del modello di governance. In questo quadro il sistema informativo/di valutazione č un esempio di sistema costruito in modo partecipato da esperti ed operatori, orientato alla valutazione della distanza osservato-atteso del beneficio di salute ottenibile con la prevenzione secondaria in oncologia.

Abstract:

A static-stability calculation method for ships which use the second-development of Solid Edge is presented in this paper. The second-development of Solid Edge applied Visual Basic to divide the waterplane and measure the parameters concerned static-stability calculation such as the volume and center of the underwater model. Furturemore, it makes the statics-stability calculation be convenient that the paragraph of static-stability is calculated on the parameters and the dismiss angle is returned. According to the comparison of the experiments and the theory, including different forms of superstructure models, it can be proved that this method is reliable and effective in the static-stability calculation for ships.

Abstract:

A calculation method of static load capacity for three-row roller slewing bearing considering clearances was proposed. The statics models of the slewing bearing in the radial direction and the axial direction were established respectively. By solving the equilibrium equations of the models, the rolling element loads were calculated. Based on the load distribution of the rollers, the static load capacity of the bearing was calculated and the influences of the clearances on it were researched. Results show that slight negative axial clearance is favorable for the static load capacity of the bearing.

Abstract:

This paper will discuss and demonstrate how FACTS controllers shunt Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) and Static VAR Compensator (SVC) have successfully been applied to power system for effective regulating system voltage. One of the major reasons for installing a STATCOM or SVC is to improve dynamic voltage control and thus increase system load ability. In this paper a STATCOM and SVC are used to regulate voltage in a power system. When system voltage is low they generate reactive power (capacitive). When system voltage is high they absorb reactive power (inductive). In this paper comparison is also performed between SVC and STATCOM under fault condition and it is show that STATCOM have the ability to provide more capacitive power during a fault over SVC. All the simulations for the above work have been carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK environment.

Abstract:

The accuracy of velocity tomograms reconstructed from borehole transmission traveltime data is highly sensitive to traveltime statics. We present a least‐squares tomography algorithm that includes a traveltime static term. The algorithm solves for both the velocity field and the traveltime statics simultaneously. This enables us to separate traveltime signal from traveltime noise, reducing the tomographic velocity artifacts caused by the statics. The incorporation of a priori constraints on the poorly determined spectral components of the velocity field further improves accuracy by reducing velocity artifacts as a result of uneven ray coverage. Application of the algorithm to numerical crosswell data results in velocity and statics’ estimates that are accurate to within 1 percent. Application of the algorithm to Exxon’s Friendswood tomography data results in velocity and statics’ estimates that correlate with independent data.
