Objective: To ensure industrial safety for autogas filling stations operated in town, analyzing the current status of the issue and identifying accident causes are performed. Methods: It is shown that most motor vehicles are not designed to use liquefied gas as a fuel and consequently converted to fit gas cylinders for using liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) making the hazard to people much higher and contributing to autogas filling station chain growth. As the filling station process involves highly flammable gases, such facilities may be referred to as fire and explosion hazardous. Results: Ma

Kalimpong has witnessed urbanisation at an astounding rate largely due to improvement in tourism and its floriculture. However, the town is crippled by the problem of traffic congestion. As urbanisation trends continues and increases across the world, urban trends have seen urban growth take place horizontally, leading to undesired urban sprawl. With the global introduction of the automobile in the 1960's, urban sprawl has been exacerbated with the automobile allowing for the decentralisation of employment, residential, commercial and leisure opportunities away from the Central Business Districts of the city. Due to a multitude of negative social, environmental and economic effects associated with urban sprawl, spatial planning practices have been aimed at reversing this trend

This chapter describes the third engagement of the Second Battle of Cynthiana, when General Stephen Gano Burbridge defeated Morgan’s raiders on Kimbrough’s Hill on June 12, 1864. Morgan deployed his men one mile east of Cynthiana in two locations: on the Millersburg Pike near John Kimbrough’s house, Poplar Hill, and a second position overlooking roads leading to Ruddles Mills and Lair’s Station, commanded by Col. D. Howard Smith. At dawn, Burbridge, with 2,400 mounted infantry and cavalry, attacked Morgan’s first position, whose men, low on ammunition, fled after a flanking cavalry charge. Smith’s second position resisted a little longer, but a flanking cavalry charge sent the Rebels running toward the South Fork Licking River, where many were captured by pursuing Union cavalry. Morgan’s parole signed by Hobson at Keller’s Bridge was later considered illegal and Hobson underwent an official army inquiry before being cleared for improperly signing it.

This chapter details John Wompas's youth in the town of Roxbury. Although Roxbury was an English town, it had a decidedly Indian side. Because Roxbury was the home of John Eliot, the “apostle to the Indians,” the town was a destination as well as a way station. It stood at the heart of the English effort to bring “civility” and Christianity to the Indians, a project that would frame much of John Wompas's life. John Eliot, Daniel Gookin, and colleagues from surrounding towns used several different approaches to converting and “civilizing” the Indians. These approaches include establishing Christian Indian towns, preparing Indians to form their own Puritan congregations, recruiting Indian children to live and work within English families, and shepherding a small number of Indian children through English grammar school to enroll at Harvard College.

Large scale model tests have been conducted in a towing tank facility for the determination of the hydrodynamic coefficients of subsea blowout preventers. A subsea blowout preventer (BOP) is a large, complex device 10–15 [m] tall, weighing 200–450 [ton]. The BOP stack consists of two assemblies, the ‘lower marine riser package’ (LMRP) connected to the riser string and the BOP itself, connected to the wellhead.
