Abstract:

Syftet med denna studie är att på ta reda på vad en bra hands-on-artefakt för museum är och hur den bör utformas. En kvalitativ fallstudie är gjord på utställningen Sinnrika människan på Naturhistoriska riksmuseet. Empirin har fåtts fram genom korta intervjuer och observation med museibesökare samt djupgående intervjuer med personer insatta i ämnet. Resultatet har sedan både analyserats individuellt och korsanalyserats, efter detta har resultatet kategoriserats. Slutsatsen för studien visade att det är många aspekter som spelar in vid skapandet av en interaktiv station, en av de viktigaste aspekterna är tydlighet om vad syftet med stationen är och hur den utförs.


The purpose with this case study is to find out what a good hands-on-artifact made for museums is and how it should be designed. The study is made at the Marvels of the human body located at the Swedish museum of Natural history. The empirical material has been collected trough short interviews and observations with visitors at the museum and extended interviews with people working in the field. The results have then been analyzed individually but also together, after this the results have been categorized. The conclusion of this study showed that there is a lot of aspect to have in mind when creating interactive stations, one of the most important aspects is distinctiveness about the purpose of the station and how it should be carried out.

Abstract:
Syftet med den här uppsatsen har varit att undersöka möjliga sociala effekter som externtlokaliserade stationer längs Sveriges nya höghastighetsjärnväg kan komma att få, dels på respektive externt stationsområde och dels på dessa stationsorter och deras centrum. Uppsatsens syfte och frågeställningar formades kring en diskussion gällande en av höghastighetsjärnvägens stationsorter, där en oro kring dels vilka effekter ett eventuellt externt stationsläge i orten kunde tänkas ha på ortens centrum och centrumhandeln, dels huruvida resenärer skulle vilja ta sig till den nya, externa stationen eller om dessa istället skulle välja andra, kanske mindre miljövänliga transportmedel, som till exempel bil.I uppsatsen har ämnen som järnvägsstationers roll i samhället och deras utveckling över tid, hur stationers utformning och lokalisering påverkar sina orter, exempel på befintliga externa stationer, med mera, behandlats.I uppsatsen har fallstudie tillämpats, genom att undersöka några befintliga externa stationer i Sverige och studerat på vilket sätt dessa har påverkats av och påverkat sin respektive ort av stationens externa läge. I uppsatsen har även dokumentanalys använts, där till exempel olika publicerade dokument kring höghastighetsbanan har analyserats. Med hjälp av detta, tillsammans med tidigare forskning och övrigt teoretiskt material, har ett antal möjliga effekter och utfall för de nya externa höghastighetsstationerna kunnat identifieras.I uppsatsen har visats att det både finns för- och nackdelar med externt lokaliserade stationer. Fördelen med de externa stationerna är att de gärna ger kortare restider, kan underlätta vid byten mellan olika tågbanor samt att de är lättare att bygga då de (oftast) inte behöver anpassas till befintlig bebyggelse. Däremot kan externa stationer få svårt att uppnå ett tillräckligt stort antal människor i rörelse för att en naturlig övervakning ska uppstå. Färre människor i stationens område kan också innebära ett bristande underlag för olika typer av verksamheter och service på stationen och i dess närområde. Dessa tillsammans är exempel på faktorer som kan leda till att stationenupplevs som otrygg.

Den här rapporten undersöker möjligheterna att standardisera och modulariseralågspänningsställverken i ABB:s HVDC-stationer. Anläggningarna har idag heltkundanpassade lösningar, vilket tar för lång tid att projektera för att kunna svara mot denökade efterfrågan på HVDC-lösningar.Arbetet baseras på tretton stationer i åtta pågående och avslutade projekt. Dessa skiljer sigtill storlek, lokalisering, ålder, dokumentation och stationstyp.För att kunna erhålla en korrekt men samtidigt överskådlig bild överlågspäninngsställverkets laster, granskades varje stations dokumentation. Informationensammanställdes i en databas, som visade de belastningar som var ständigt återkommande.Arbetet visar att det är möjligt att standardisera valda delar av lågspänningsställverken, docktas ingen hänsyn till vare sig storleks- eller kostnadsökning. Arbetet behandlar de mestfrekvent förekommande brytarstorlekarna för de typiska lasterna.Det standardförslag som tagits fram har anpassats för att täcka de brytarstorlekar somförekommit för de typiska lasterna i stationerna. För strömriktartransformatorerna erbjudstvå varianter av skåp, medan det för övriga laster endast förekommer ett alternativ.En alternativ lösning på problemet skulle kunna vara att ta fram en standard för varjestationstyp. Detta förutsätter dock ett större antal projekt av varje typ än de som tagits medi detta arbete.


This thesis investigates the possibilities to standardize and modularize the low-voltageswitchgear in ABB’s HVDC-stations. The reason for this is that the customized solutionthey use today take too much engineering and production time to meet the expectedincrease of projects.The report is based on thirteen stations in eight different closed or ongoing projects. Theselection was based on the station size, geographical location, commissioning year andstation type.In order to obtain a correct representation of the loads in the low-voltage switchgear, therelevant station documentation was reviewed and compiled in a database. The data wasthen analyzed to determine the most frequently occurring loads and their characteristics.The thesis shows that it’s possible to standardize some components in the low-voltageswitchgear. However, this report doesn’t take into consideration any possible increase oftotal size and cost. It also shows the most frequent sizes of the circuit breakers for each ofthe common loads.The standard proposition for the common loads was developed to cover all the occurringsizes of the circuit breakers in the stations. For the converter transformers coolingequipment there’s two different cubicles to choose from, while the remaining loads islimited to a single alternative.An alternative solution could be to develop a standard for each occurring station type.However, this would require that the data from a larger number of projects, for all stationtypes, are reviewed and compiled.

Abstract:
Gotland har länge präglats av mycket speciella lösningar och legat i framkant vad gäller ny teknik. Under ca 20 år har Gotland haft en VSC-HVDC-station som har stabiliserat spänningen i det gotländska nätet. HVDC Light har löst en del av de tekniska begränsningarna som hindrat utvecklingen av vindkraftverk. Anläggningen börjar lida mot slutet av sin tekniska livslängd och examensarbetet är ett första steg i utredningen för en eventuell ersättning. Med hjälp av elkvalitetsmätare kartlagdes prestanda och eventuella förbättringsområden. Den svenska stamnätsoperatören Svenska kraftnät har sedan 2016 haft en VSC-HVDC-station som använts för att utväxla energi till asynkrona systemet i Östeuropa. Svenska kraftnät har på senare tid velat utnyttja spänningsregleringsmöjligheterna och utreda mättekniska metoder. Elkvalitetsmätare placerades ut på lämpliga mätpunkter för att utreda anläggningens beteenden. ELSPEC G4500 elkvalitetsmätare installerades på Nordbalt och Gotlands HVDC Light för att mäta under sensommar till hösten 2017. Skillnader mellan CVT och IVT samt Rogowskispole och CT mättes. Valet av ELSPEC lämpade sig bra eftersom att inga triggningsvillkor behövdes som tillåter att man kan upptäcka små men viktiga avvikelser. Gotlands HVDC Light stabiliserar nätet främst mot spänningsdippar efter kortslutningar i 10 kV-elnätet och flimmer ifrån vindkraftsparkerna i ände 2. Märkeffekten för en uppdaterad anläggning kommer baseras på den kortslutningseffekt i 10 kV-nätet som kan utvecklas under anläggningens livstid. Spänningsregleringen ska baseras på en PI-regulator och ska kunna reglera fullt på 40 ms. Komponentspänningar kan användas för att ge reaktiv effekt på de faser som behöver det. Behovet mot flimmer ska baseras på en mätning i närmaste konsumtionscentrum, två mil från ände 2. Om behovet finns, ska en separat loop för flimmerkontroll som motverkar 1,5 Hz-komponenter implementeras utifrån en punkt ca 1,5 mil ifrån ände 2. Teknikvalet står mellan two-level generation 3 eller MMC, beroende på uppgradering eller ersättning. Många olika framtida scenarion påverkar HVDC Lights roll och oavsett, kommer mycket resurser behövas för Gotlands och HVDC Lights framtid. Det har observerats två beteenden på Nordbalt varav ena är långsam och det andra beteendet är snabbt. Det snabba beteendet uppstår när lågohmiga fel sker som också synkronmaskinerna tar hand om. Nordbalt kan hjälpa till för mindre spänningsvariationer om den varit snabbare likt beteendet vid lågohmiga fel. En stabilitetsbedömning behövs dock eftersom att snabbare beteende ökar risken för instabilitet. Eftersom att data mellan CVT och IVT skiljde sig mycket, upplystes mättekniska problem. Några lösningar diskuteras varav RCVT och PQSensor gås igenom grundligt. Alternativa lösningar som MoW och mobila enheter presenteras också vagt. Samtliga lösningar visade sig ha praktiska hinder, vilket försvårar genomförandet. Det uppmanas därför att man bör testa teknikerna i laborationsmiljö eftersom begränsat med studier gjorts på dessa samt att konkurrerande tillverkare uppger olika uppgifter.
Gotland has long been known for various special solutions and been on the leading edge regarding new technology. For the past 20 years Gotland has had a VSC-HVDC station that has stabilized the voltage in the Gotlandic grid. HVDC Light has solved some of the technical limitations that has hindered the growth of wind turbines. The station has almost reached the end of its technical lifespan and the thesis is a first step in the investigation for an eventual replacement. With power quality analyzers performance and improvements were investigated. The Swedish transmission system operator Svenska kraftnät have since 2016 had a VSCHVDC station that have been used to exchange energy to the asynchronous system in Eastern Europe. Svenska kraftnät has of lately wanted to take advantage of the voltage control capabilities and investigate measurement technologies. Power quality analyzers were installed on suitable connection points to investigate the behavior of the station. ELSPEC G4500 power quality analyzers were installed on Nordbalt’s and Gotland’s HVDC Light to measure during the late summer to fall of 2017. The differences between CVT and IVT, and Rogowski coil and CT were captured. The choice of ELSPEC suited well since no trigger conditions are needed which allows small but important errors to be discovered. Gotland’s HVDC Light stabilizes the grid mostly against voltage sags for faults in the 10 kVgrid and flicker from the wind farms in node 2. The rated power for an upgrade should be based on the 10 kV-grid short-circuit power to be developed during the station’s life span. The voltage control should be based on a PI-controller and should be able to transmit full power in 40 ms. Component voltages can be used to produce reactive power on the phases in need. The need against flicker should be based on measurements in the closest center of consumption, 2 miles from node 2. If it’s needed, a separate loop for flicker-control that prevents 1.5 Hz-components based on a point 1.5 mile from node 2 should be implemented. Depending on an upgrade or replacement, the topology can either be “two-level generation 3” or MMC. Many different future scenarios affect HVDC Light’s role and more resources will be required for Gotland’s and HVDC Light’s future. Two behaviors have been observed on Nordbalt where one is slow and the other behavior is fast. The fast behavior was only observed when low impedance faults occurs, that the synchronous generators also handles. Nordbalt can contribute to small voltage variations if it was faster, like the behavior for low impedance faults. A consideration in stability is needed since a faster behavior can lead to stability problems. Since the data between CVT and IVT differed a lot, metrology problems were discovered. Some solutions were discussed, of which RCVT and PQSensor was thoroughly reviewed. Alternative solutions like MoW and mobile units were also presented vaguely. All solutions showed practical difficulties, which complicates the implementation. It is therefore encouraged to test the technologies in a laboratory environment since few studies have been made on these and competing manufactures state different information.

Abstract:
De senaste årens krav på hållbarhet, har tillsammans med en önskan att göra städerna renare, tystare och mer tillgängliga, resulterat i att cykeln kommit att prioriteras inom samhällsplaneringen. I syfte att främja en hållbar stadsutveckling och uppmuntra fler människor att cykla har allt fler städer valt att upprätta hyrcykelsystem. En av dessa städer är Gävle som under våren 2016 genomför en pilotstudie för att undersöka möjligheten att införa ett regionalt hyrcykelsystem riktat till pendlare. Syftet med denna studie är därför att applicera en metod för att optimera lokaliseringen av cykelstationer i ett hyrcykelsystem i Gävle. För att uppnå detta har en GIS-baserad multikriterieanalys (MKA) upprättats. Multikriterieanalysen resulterade i att ett antal platser pekades ut som lämpliga för etablering av hyrcykelsstationer. Genom vidare analys och diskussion av resultatet prioriterades antalet platser ned ytterligare. Detta mynnade ut i en rekommendation över de två lämpligaste platserna i Gävle för etablering av hyrcykelstationer. Dessa platser är Södermalm och Rådhustorget.
The desire to make our cities cleaner, quieter and more accessible has given the bicycle a higher priority in urban planning in recent years. In order to promote sustainable urban development and encourage people to cycle an increasing number of cities have chosen to set up bike-share systems. During the spring of 2016 the city of Gävle is conducting a pilot study to examine the possibility of introducing a bike-share system. The purpose of this study is therefore to apply a method to optimize the location of bike stations in a bike-share system in Gävle. To achieve this, a GIS-based multi-criteria analysis (MCA) was established. The MCA resulted in a number of sites identified as suitable for the establishment of bike-share stations. Through further analysis and discussion the number of stations was prioritized even further. This resulted in a recommendation of the two most suitable locations for establishment of bike-share stations in Gävle. These places are Södermalm and Rådhustorget.

Abstract:

Denna uppsats handlar om vad som händer med fosforkoncentrationen i djupvatt- net vid två olika stationer i Östersjön när syrgaskoncentrationen förändras. Mitt syfte var dels att se om fosforhalten ökat och om detta tycks ha samband med minskade syrgashalter. För att få svar på dessa frågor använde jag mig av data från SMHI: s databas SHARK. De två stationer som jag analyserat data ifrån är BY 15, Gotlandsdjupet, och BY 31, Landsortsdjupet. Dessa båda stationer ligger i Egentliga Östersjön och har ett vattendjup på 225 m respektive 440 m. De variab-ler som jag använde mig av var syrgashalt och fosfathalt. Tidsperioden var 1992 – 2002. Resultatet visade att fosfathalten ökat under perioden samtidigt som syrgas-halten minskat vid båda stationerna. Det fanns också ett statistiskt signifikant samband mellan minskade syrgashalter och ökade fosfathalter. Fosfors läckage från sedimenten kan varaen intern källa vid syrebrist i djupvattnet. Detta innebär att fosfathalten stiger i djupvattnet när syrehalten minskar. Av detta drar jag slut-satsen att det är viktigt att ta i beaktande denna interna källa av fosfor när man diskuterar Östersjöns övergödningsproblematik.

Abstract:
Les difficultés de la saison de sports d'hiver actuelle pointent du doigt la fragilité du mode de développement touristique adopté par les stations de moyenne montagne. Issues de la période de reconstruction après-guerre, ces stations se construisent dans le contexte fordiste portant les politiques de développement. Le modèle des stations intégrées les conçoit comme des pôles de croissance a-territoriaux dont la fonctionnalité et la rationalité sont supposées suffire à leur performance. Ainsi, leur compétitivité n'est envisagée qu'en termes quantitatifs (principalement, rendements d'échelle et linéaire de pistes). Cependant, les perspectives de réchauffement climatique et de concurrence croissante sur le marché touristique questionnent directement leur statut de locomotive du développement. Les incertitudes associées à une mono-activité de ski alpin encouragent à un renouvellement des politiques publiques d'Aménagement du territoire à la recherche de nouvelles voies de développement. La diversification est le mot d'ordre adopté par tous.

Dès lors, le territoire n'est plus considéré comme un support neutre pour un pôle de croissance à partir duquel le développement se diffuse. Au contraire, ce dernier apparaît comme un réservoir de ressources sous exploitées, alors même qu'elles se révèlent particulièrement stratégiques vis-à-vis du renouvellement des formes de compétitivité. Prises dans la dynamique de construction territoriale (dont elles sont issues en même temps qu'elles contribuent à son renouvellement), ces ressources apparaissent comme spécifiques. Elles permettent donc de privilégier des stratégies de différenciation qualitatives plutôt qu'uniquement quantitatives. Les notions de Rente de Qualité Territoriale et de panier de biens territorialisé constituent la base de nos recherches quant à la mobilisation d'une valeur ajoutée d'origine purement territoriale.

Dans le cas des stations de sports d'hiver, le développement d'un tourisme générique sous l'influence du Plan Neige constitue un contexte d'observation particulier. En effet, l'appropriation locale de ces ensembles productifs participe de la construction d'un véritable Système Touristique Localisé. Paradoxalement, regarder les stations sous cet angle implique de tenir compte à la fois des spécificités de l'organisation de la production du ski d'une station à l'autre, mais également de considérer la diffusion du mode de développement générique et les risques associés de raréfaction de la spécificité. Ainsi, la diversification de l'offre touristique en station de moyenne montagne interroge directement les formes de leur ancrage local et leur capacité de mobilisation des ressources territoriales.

Afin d'étudier ces trajectoires de développement, la thèse propose de s'intéresser aux stations périurbaines de Grenoble qui représentent un laboratoire des tendances se dessinant actuellement. En nous appuyant sur une diversité d'outils, entretiens semi-directifs, information géographique et approche statistique, nous proposons d'étudier les conditions du renversement du rapport de force entre station et territoire comme moteurs successifs du développement local.

Abstract:
The Urban Heat Island (UHI) is a phenomenon in which the urban temperature is higher than that of the non-urban areas. Previous studies from other countries showed that an UHI phenomenon exists in urbanized cities. In Hong Kong, instead of only few study using fixed stationary stations on UHI analysis, past effort have been concentrated on using traverse and remote sensing method to study the UHI. This dissertation therefore describes the annual, seasonal and diurnal UHI variability in Hong Kong based on hourly data of temperatures, wind speed and relative humidity from five selected fixed stations at urban and non-urban areas over the period 2001-2011. UHI intensity is calculated by the temperature difference between the urban and non-urban areas excluding the global warming factors and micro-climatic effects. The results showed that, although there is no significant increasing and decreasing trend in annual UHI variation, the maximum annual UHI intensity is increasing and the nocturnal UHI is proved significantly higher than that its daytime counterpart. The seasonal UHI variation is higher in summer or autumn and winter depends on the choice of non-urban stations due to different geographic settings and land use. The diurnal UHI variation revealed that the strongest UHI intensity was observed in late afternoon or early morning while the weakest one occurred in afternoon. Among the study groups, Hong Kong International Airport experiences the highest UHI intensity. It is probably due to the geographical settings, unique land use and significant anthropogenic heat. On the other hand, in using Ta Kwu Ling as non-urban stations, the wind speed showed a significant negative correlation with UHI intensity while the relative humidity showed a positive one in diurnal UHI variation. The results of the study indicated that the choice of non-urban station poses a significant impact to the UHI intensity calculation especially in seasonal and diurnal variations. Further study on choosing representative non-urban station for UHI intensity calculation is recommended.

The development of the large corporate railroad systems in the Midwest, during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, produced many high quality, architecturally significant railroad stations. Among these, Richmond's Pennsylvania Railroad Station, built to the designs of the D.H. Burnham & Co., of Chicago in 1902-1903, is a fine example of the Beaux-Arts and Neo-Classical Revival Styles of architecture popular after the Columbian World Exposition of 1893. The Richmond station remains as the last example of the Burnham Co.'s railroad station work in Indiana. This thesis will review the history and current status of the station, review and summarize the field of railroad station reuse, and present an adaptive reuse plan for the station.

Due to legislative pressure on a global, European and Swedish level the heavy-duty transportation sector needs to drastically reduce its emissions. One potential pathway forward for the heavy-duty transportation sector is that of electrification, which would require novel infrastructure to be established in the form of stationary charging or dynamic charging through what is often called electric road systems (ERS). The aim of this thesis has been to investigate how developments in battery technology impacts the potential electrification of heavy-duty transportation in Sweden. The starting point is from the perspective of battery technology and the resulting impact that battery technology has on the provision of charging infrastructure. In order to analyse the relation between these parameters the market developments of lithium-ion batteries were explored and an empirical study of the likely stakeholders of an electrified heavy-duty transportation system was conducted. The study finds that battery technology has a substantial momentum and several stakeholders view the electrification of heavy-duty transportation as the most cost-efficient solution in the long-term. There is however a consensus that battery development has not yet progressed to a stage where the electrification of heavy-duty transportation is financially or technically viable. Developments in battery technology affect the prospects for stationary charging provision and ERS (i.e. dynamic charging) differently, with stationary charging being more dependent on positive developments. The relation between developments in battery technology and ERS is more complex as its deployment is not only dependent on market developments but is also highly dependent on decisive actions by policy makers. Developments in battery technology could however affect both alternatives positively in the long-term, as a sustained positive battery development will make fully electric heavy-duty trucks an attractive option for the market to pursue. Once a common belief in the electrification of heavy-duty transportation has been established the main issue described by stakeholders, ensuring a long-term positive business case, could therefore be achieved by both alternatives. The study concludes that for an electrification of heavy-duty transportation to be financially sustainable in the long-term, continued positive battery developments are a prerequisite.
Till följd av lagstiftningskrav på en global, europeisk och svensk nivå så måste tunga vägtransporter drastiskt minska sina utsläpp. En möjlig utveckling för tunga vägtransporter kan vara elektrifiering vilket skulle kräva en etablering av ny infrastruktur, antingen i form av stationära laddstationer, eller i form av elvägar. Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att utreda hur batteriutvecklingen påverkar förutsättningarna för att tunga vägtransporter i Sverige skulle kunna elektrifieras. Utgångspunkten har varit utifrån perspektivet av batteriteknologi och den påverkan som batteriteknologin har på tillhandahållandet av laddinfrastruktur. För att analysera relationen mellan dessa parametrar så har marknadsutvecklingen för litium-jon batterier utretts och en empirisk studie med de aktörer som troligen skulle vara delaktiga i ett elektrifierat transportsystem har utförts. Studiens slutsatser är att batteriteknologin har ett betydande momentum och att flera aktörer på sikt ser elektrifieringen av tunga vägtransporter som den mest kostnadseffektiva lösningen. Det råder dock en konsensus om att batteriutvecklingen ännu inte har kommit långt nog för att elektrifieringen av tunga vägtransporter ska vara tekniskt eller ekonomiskt gångbar. Batteriutvecklingen påverkar utsikterna för tillhandahållandet av stationära laddstationer och elvägar på olika sätt, där stationära laddstationer är mer beroende av en positiv batteriutveckling. Relationen mellan batteriutvecklingen och elvägar är mer komplex då etableringen av elvägar inte bara är beroende av marknadsförhållanden utan även är avhängig på ett starkt politiskt stöd. Batteriutvecklingen kan dock ha en positiv påverkan på båda dessa alternativ på lång sikt, då en ihållande positiv batteriutveckling skulle göra helelektriska tunga lastbilar till ett attraktivt alternativ för marknaden att eftersträva. När en gemensam övertygelse om att elektrifieringen av tunga vägtransporter är den optimala vägen framåt har uppnåtts så kan det huvudsakliga problemet som aktörer beskriver, upprättandet av långsiktigt hållbara affärsmodeller, uppnås av båda alternativen. Studien drar slutsatsen att för att en elektrifiering av tunga vägtransporter ska vara ekonomiskt hållbar på sikt så är en fortsatt positiv batteriutveckling en förutsättning.

The problem of this study was to document the history of radio station WKY, Oklahoma City, and to locate its place within the development of American radio broadcasting. This thesis divides WKY's history into two periods: 1920 through 1925, the years it was operated by Earl Hull, and 1926 through 1989, after it was acquired by E. K. Gaylord. The purpose of this study was to record the history of the oldest radio station operating west of the Mississippi River, its effect on the broadcast industry in general, and its effect on Gaylord Broadcasting Corporation, the parent organization. The study also explored the innovations. in both programming and engineering that caused the station to grow into one of the most popular radio stations in the Southwest, as well as its decline in recent years.

Para compreender a plasticidade do comportamento de pastoreio é necessário estudar simultaneamente a pastagem e as diferentes atividades de pastoreio. O objetivo deste trabalho foi compreender as relações entre as atividades de pastoreio e a estrutura da ingestão usando câmaras GoPro. O uso deste tipo de equipamento permite identificar os elementos da pastagem que são ingeridos, bem como a hora em que ocorreram os comportamentos. Foram usados 15 ovinos numa pastagem biodiversa, dos quais 5 foram equipados com câmaras, um dia por semana, durante 11 semanas no período de abril a junho. À medida que a pastagem se modificava ocorreram modificações quer nas atividades de pastoreio, quer na dieta dos ovinos. Apesar da duração do pastoreio não ter tido diferenças significativas entre semanas, os animais aumentaram o tempo de repouso a partir da sétima semana em que o tempo de repouso passou de 30% para representar mais de 60% das atividades totais. As características estruturais das plantas afetaram a sua ingestão sendo as leguminosas, plantas verdes e plantas altas as preferidas. O tipo de planta influenciou o número de dentadas, mas não a sua duração. Os resultados obtidos com as GoPro permitiram evidenciar a adaptação do comportamento de ingestão às modificações dos recursos alimentares ao longo do período experimental, designadamente através da alteração do tempo despendido nas várias atividades de pastoreio, e da alteração das preferências pelas diferentes espécies botânicas. A utilização de câmaras colocadas no animal permite observar o comportamento de pastoreio de um ponto de vista individual e com uma proximidade impossíveis de obter de outra forma; Use of GoPro to assess foraging behaviour of grazing sheep Abstract: To understand the plasticity of grazing behaviour, it is necessary to simultaneously study pasture and different grazing activities. The objective of this work was to understand the relationships between grazing activities and the structure of intake using GoPro cameras. The use of this type of equipment allows identifying the pasture elements that are ingested, as well as the time at which the behaviours occurred. Fifteen sheep were used in a biodiverse pasture, of which 5 were equipped with cameras, one day per week, during 11 weeks from April to June. As grazing changed, there were changes in grazing activities and sheep diet. Although the duration of grazing was not significant between weeks, the animals increased resting time from the seventh week in which the rest of the time went from 30% to represent more than 60% of the total activities. The structural characteristics of the plants affected their intake, with legumes, green plants and tall plants being preferred. The plant type influenced the number of bites but not its duration. The results obtained with the GoPro showed the adaptation of the ingestion behaviour to the modifications of the alimentary resources throughout the experimental period, namely by altering the time spent in the various grazing activities and changing the preferences of the different botanical species. The use of chambers placed in the animal allows observing grazing behaviour from an individual point of view and with a proximity impossible to obtain otherwise.

The paper considers systems of linear first-order ODEs with a randomly perturbed system matrix and stationary additive noise. For the description of the long-term behavior of such systems it is necessary to study their stationary solutions. We deal with conditions for the existence of stationary solutions as well as with their representations and the computation of their moment functions. Assuming small perturbations of the system matrix we apply perturbation techniques to find series representations of the stationary solutions and give asymptotic expansions for their first- and second-order moment functions. We illustrate the findings with a numerical example of a scalar ODE, for which the moment functions of the stationary solution still can be computed explicitly. This allows the assessment of the goodness of the approximations found from the derived asymptotic expansions.

Darbe ištirtos 6 MW vėjo elektrinių parko prijungimo galimybės prie 35 kVir 10 kV tinklo oro linijų, esančių Pakruojo rajone. Nowadays fossils start costliness, wind stations and their parks building and connection to Distribution Networks in this time is very actual theme. Over and over broad, not only on the seashore, in Lithuania are builted and connected wind stations and their parks. The aim of my work is the investigation of possibilities to connect the wind stations park to distribution networks, what influence the connect possibilities in the chosen point of distribution networks. I did the programme to the primitive test of possibilities to connect wind stations and their parks to distribution networks in this work. I did the investigation of possibilities to connect 6 MW wind station park to 35 kV and 10 kV distribution networks in Pakruojis district. I calculated the parameters of networks quality, when wind stations park is working and when is stopped. I give conclusion about results and succession of this investigation.

The project examines the architectural and financial feasibility of adaptive reuse of the Pennsylvania Station at Fort Wayne, Indiana, as an international cultural center and railroad passenger station. The project summarizes the results of primary research which determined the history of the station's original construction and subsequent alterations, as well as the property's associations with the history of Fort Wayne. The narrative also provides an illustrated summary of the current physical condition of the site and its two structures. The proposal for adaptive reuse includes an Amtrak rail passenger facility, shops, a restaurant, and classroom and dormitory areas to be used as a campus of the International Education Center, a school based in Tokyo, Japan. The proposed rehabilitation work is described in terms of its impact upon the historic features of the property, and the design issues involved are stated, as well as the major elements of the proposed work. An itemized budget for all proposed construction is provided.Based upon current rents in the project area, financial comparison of the investment needed with projected returns determined that the project would provide an acceptable acceptable rate of return on the required investment. The study concluded that the project would be both financially and architecturally viable.

Au regard de l'affirmation des principes du tourisme durable, de l'authentification des stations comme produit touristique et de l'émergence de nouvelles territorialités au référentiel de pays, se révèle le modèle de la Station Littorale Intégrée. Cette dernière est un des pôles constitutifs d'un Pays d'Aménagement Touristique Intégré du Littoral, qui caractérise la mutation contemporaine des littoraux touristiques
The important evolutions of the coastal tourist planning lead to the mutation of the seaside resort system. The constituents of the latter are generated and modified according to the context of the society and to the conceptions of nature, tourism and town planning, definiting it. Thus, if the ecumene coast is contemporary with the earliest elitist resorts, falling within capitalism and ostentatious town building, nowdays, the heritage coast, prompted by a local voluntarism, is based on a well-regulated development and an integrated built planning. According to the assertion of the sustainable tourism, to the authentification of resorts as tourist products and to the emergence of original " heritage-land " territorialities, the model of the integrated coastal resort can be identified. The latter is one constituent pole of the " heritage land " of coastal integrated tourist planning, which caracterize the current mutation of the tourist coasts

Le travail présenté dans cette thèse porte sur la conception des solutions de recharge à base d'énergie solaire pour des véhicules électriques. Les présents travaux ont pour but de concevoir et de réaliser des prototypes de station de recharge de véhicule électrique ainsi que de proposer des outils d'optimisation de fonctionnement de ces stations de recharge. Tout d'abord, nous avons présenté la méthode suivie pour la conception et la réalisation d'une station de recharge solaire mobile autonome. Ensuite, nous avons présenté une étude expérimentale de la station de recharge PV 16kWc. Cette étude expérimentale est étalée sur la période du Janvier - Août 2019. L'analyse des résultats de cette étude expérimentale permet de déduire que la station réalisée permet de produire une énergie de l'ordre de 10.8MWh par ans et permet d'éviter des émissions CO2 de l'ordre de 4.8 tonnes par ans. Nous avons aussi étudié la topologie de station de recharge avec bus bipolaire. Puisque les convertisseurs DC/DC trois-niveaux sont la partie la plus intéressante de cette topologie, nous avons détaillé la méthode suivie pour élaborer un modèle moyen petits-signaux. Ensuite, une analyse du contrôle d'équilibrage du bus bipolaire permet d'identifier la meilleure option à choisir pour garantir l'équilibrage du bus, ainsi qu'une nouvelle méthode d'équilibrage ont été présentées, cette dernière offre la possibilité d'équilibrage sans ajout de capteurs comme dans la méthode classique. Enfin, le principe de fonctionnement de l'unité de gestion d'énergie proposée pour cette topologie est présenté. Cette dernière à été évaluée en simulations
This thesis focuses on the design of solar-based charging solutions for electric vehicles. The purpose of this work is to design and produce prototypes of electric vehicle charging stations and to propose tools to optimize the operation of these charging stations. First of all, we presented the followed method for the design and construction of a stand-alone mobile solar charging station. Then we presented the conception of solar charging station of 16kWc. An experimental study is performed over the period of January - August 2019. The results analysis of this experimental study showed that the produced energy is of the order of 10.8MWh per year and avoids CO2 emissions of 4.8 tonnes per year. About 50 electric cars per months could be charged by solar energy. We also studied a topology of charging station with bipolar DC bus. Since the three-level DC/DC converters are the most important elements of this topology, we have detailed the followed method for small-signal modelling of these converters. Then, an analysis of the voltage balance control of the bipolar bus was carried out to identify the best option to choose to guarantee the balance of the bus and a new balancing method were presented. This last method offers the possibility of balancing the DC bus without adding extra sensors sensors as in the classical method. Finally, the operating principle of the energy management unit proposed for this topology is presented and evaluated in simulations

Muchos tipos de señales que encontramos a diario pertenecen a la categoría de sinusoides no estacionarias. Una gran parte de esas señales son sonidos que presentan una gran variedad de características: acústicos/electrónicos, sonidos instrumentales harmónicos/impulsivos, habla/canto, y la mezcla de todos ellos que podemos encontrar en la música. Durante décadas la comunidad científica ha estudiado y analizado ese tipo de señales. El motivo principal es la gran utilidad de los avances científicos en una gran variedad de áreas, desde aplicaciones médicas, financiera y ópticas, a procesado de radares o sonar, y también a análisis de sistemas. La estimación precisa de los parámetros de sinusoides no estacionarias es una de las tareas más comunes en procesado digital de señales, y por lo tanto un elemento fundamental e indispensable para una gran variedad de aplicaciones. Las transformaciones de tiempo y frecuencia clásicas son solamente apropiadas para señales con variación lenta de amplitud y frecuencia. Esta suposición no suele cumplirse en la práctica, lo que conlleva una degradación de calidad y la aparición de artefactos. Además, la resolución temporal y frecuencial no se puede incrementar arbitrariamente debido al conocido principio de incertidumbre de Heisenberg. \\ El principal objetivo de esta tesis es revisar y mejorar los métodos existentes para el análisis de sinusoides no estacionarias, y también proponer nuevas estrategias y aproximaciones. Esta disertación contribuye sustancialmente a los análisis sinusoidales existentes: a) realiza una evaluación crítica del estado del arte y describe con gran detalle los métodos de análisis existentes, b) aporta mejoras sustanciales a algunos de los métodos existentes más prometedores, c) propone varias aproximaciones nuevas para el análisis de los modelos sinusoidales existentes i d) propone un modelo sinusoidal muy general y flexible con un algoritmo de análisis directo y rápido.
Many types of everyday signals fall into the non-stationary sinusoids category. A large family of such signals represent audio, including acoustic/electronic, pitched/transient instrument sounds, human speech/singing voice, and a mixture of all: music. Analysis of such signals has been in the focus of the research community for decades. The main reason for such intense focus is the wide applicability of the research achievements to medical, financial and optical applications, as well as radar/sonar signal processing and system analysis. Accurate estimation of sinusoidal parameters is one of the most common digital signal processing tasks and thus represents an indispensable building block of a wide variety of applications. Classic time-frequency transformations are appropriate only for signals with slowly varying amplitude and frequency content - an assumption often violated in practice. Abstract:
Stationary waves are vitally important in the general circulation of the atmosphere. These planetary scale waves are generally attributed to large scale orography and diabatic heating. The purpose of the present study is to investigate stationary waves as a linear response to the large scale orography and steady-state diabatic heating by developing a linear steady-state spectral model with the primitive equations in the global domain, in which Rayleigh friction and Newtonian cooling as well as biharmonic horizontal diffusion are included. We use perturbation theory to linearize the nonlinear system of primitive equations with respect to the zonally symmetric component of the dependent variables. The structure of the dependent variables is described by truncated series of spherical harmonics in the horizontal and orthogonal functions in the vertical. The model solution is obtained by way of linear superimposition of zonal waves calculated in the spectral domain for each zonal wave. The three dimensional wave activity flux, which was derived by Plumb (1985) for linear quasi-geostrophic stationary waves on a zonal mean flow, as well as the EP flux are used as a diagnostic method for studying the three dimensional structure of wave propagation. The Plumb flux is a conservable measure of the wave activity flux which reduces to EP flux in the zonal mean, and is non-divergent for steady, conservative, linear waves. The results of this thesis may present new insights into forcing mechanisms of the stationary waves. The numerical experiments for the response to idealised orography in northern middle latitudes and actual global orography show that the northern middle latitude orographic forcing, in particular the Tibetan Plateau, plays the most important role in the maintenance of the orographically forced stationary waves in the middle and upper troposphere as well as lower stratosphere, while forcing by the orographic effect of the Antarctic plateau is also very important, but restricted only to the lower troposphere of the southern high latitudes.

Computing stationary probabilities of states in a large countable state space Markov Chain (MC) has become central to many modern scientific disciplines, whether in statistical inference problems, or in network analyses. Standard methods involve large matrix multiplications as in power iterations, or long simulations of random walks to sample states from the stationary distribution, as in Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC). However, these approaches lack clear guarantees for convergence rates in the general setting. When the state space is prohibitively large, even algorithms that scale linearly in the size of the state space and require computation on behalf of every node in the state space are too expensive. In this thesis, we set out to address this outstanding challenge of computing the stationary probability of a given state in a Markov chain locally, efficiently, and with provable performance guarantees. We provide a novel algorithm, that answers whether a given state has stationary probability smaller or larger than a given value [delta] [epsilon] (0, 1). Our algorithm accesses only a local neighborhood of the given state of interest, with respect to the graph induced between states of the Markov chain through its transitions. The algorithm can be viewed as a truncated Monte Carlo method. We provide correctness and convergence rate guarantees for this method that highlight the dependence on the truncation threshold and the mixing properties of the graph. Simulation results complementing our theoretical guarantees suggest that this method is effective when our interest is in finding states with high stationary probability.

Den Kern der vorliegenden Arbeit bilden sog. sensorgeführte Roboterbewegungen, d. h. die Nutzung von Informationen externer Sensoren zur Regelung des Roboters. Da gängige Industrierobotersysteme üblicherweise positionsgeregelt sind und seitens der Robotersteuerung lediglich der Zugriff zu den Sollwerten der Lageregelkreise erlaubt wird, kann auch der Regelkreis der sensorgeführten Roboterbewegung nur über den Lageregelkreis geschlossen werden. Aus diesem Grunde werden hier nur positionsbasierte Regelungsansätze verfolgt. Die Kraft-/ Momentregelung gilt als eine der wichtigsten Varianten sensorgeführter Roboterbewegungen. Dementsprechend widmet sich auch ein großer Teil dieser Arbeit dem Thema, mit dem Ziel durch innovative und übersichtliche Regelalgorithmen die Akzeptanz der Kraft-/ Momentregelung in industriellen Produktionsprozessen zu erhöhen. Beginnend mit der eindimensionalen Kraftregelung führt der Weg dabei über Konzepte zur Konturenverfolgung und kraft-/ momentgeregelten Montageaufgaben hin zur Kooperation von Robotern. In einem weiteren Teil wird ein Konzept zur Kollisionsvermeidung zwischen Robotern und Hindernissen präsentiert. Es basiert auf dem Ansatz der virtuellen Potential- bzw. Kraftfelder. Dabei ruft das künstliche Feld eine Bewegung des Roboters hervor, die vom Hindernis weg führt. Um das Feld zu erzeugen, wird die Methode der künstlichen Punktladungen entwickelt. Diese werden auf der Oberfläche eines Hindernisses platziert und generieren dann das virtuelle Kraftfeld. Die Platzierung kann z. B. mithilfe der CAD-Daten des Hindernisses erfolgen. Bei bewegten Objekten müssen alle Ladungspositionen ständig aktualisiert werden. Für Lehr- und Präsentationszwecke ist das sog. inverse Pendel eine oft genutzte Regelstrecke. Sein Aufrichten und Stabilisieren ist auch mit Hilfe eines Industrieroboters möglich. Dazu beschäftigt sich ein Kapitel dieser Arbeit mit Fragen zur Modellbildung der Kombination inverses Pendel und Industrieroboter und mit Regelungskonzepten für das Aufschwingen und Balancieren. Letztendlichen wird in diesem Zusammenhang noch ein Visual-Servoing System präsentiert, dass den Neigungswinkel des Pendels mit einer Kamera bestimmt. Alle hier vorgestellten Konzepte und Algorithmen werden Anhand von praktischen Experimenten verifiziert.
This work deals with so-called sensor guided robot motions, which means using the data of external sensors to control the robot. The control loop of the sensor guided robot motion can be only closed around the position control loop, because industrial robot systems usually work position controlled and only access to the desired positions is enabled. For this reason here only position based control approaches are regarded. Force/torque control is a very important type of sensor guided robot motions. According to this, a good portion of this work deals with the subject of force/torque control. Thus, the acceptance of force/torque control in industrial production processes should be increased, by using innovative and clear control algorithms. For this purpose force control in one degree of freedom, contour-following, force/torque controlled assembling tasks and the cooperation between robots are discussed here in different chapters. Thereafter, a concept to collision avoidance between robots and obstacles is presented. It uses the approach of virtual potential/force fields. In this case the artificial field induces a robot motion away from the obstacle. The method of artificial charges is developed to generate this field. For this purpose virtual charges are placed on the surface of the obstacles. Placing of the charges can be performed using e.g. CAD data of the obstacles. Having moving obstacles charge positions must be updated continuously. The inverted pendulum is commonly used teaching students in control theory. The swinging up and the stabilization of the pendulum also can be performed by an industrial robot. One chapter of this work deals with modelling of the robot mounted inverted pendulum and control algorithms for its swinging up and its stabilization. Finally, in combination with the inverted pendulum a visual-servoing system is presented, which measures the pendulum inclination angle by camera. All concepts introduced in this work are verified by practical experiments.
