Abstract:

Detta examensarbete är utformat som ett pedagogiskt kompendium inom ämnet jämställd stadsplanering. Målgruppen är studenter i utbildningen Civilingenjör Arkitektur inriktning Stadsplanering på Luleå tekniska universitet eller liknande utbildningar. Syftet med arbetet är att ta reda på vilka olika aspekter som finns inom ämnet och vad som kan göras för att dessa ska implementeras i planeringsarbetet. I kompendiet presenteras de olika aspekterna i varsitt kapitel där störst vikt ligger vid att formulera problemet men även vissa förslag på åtgärder ges. De olika aspekter som identifierades var trygghet, den fysiska utformningen, transporter, medborgardialog och aktiviteter i staden. Det finns även med ett avsnitt om genusteori och kvinnors situation i staden genom historien.

Abstract:

Porous metal phosphonate framework materials were synthesised by solvothermal reaction of bis(α-aminomethylenephosphonic acid) ligands with divalent and trivalent metal cations. The syntheses and characterisation by NMR and, where possible, single crystal X-ray diffraction of seven bisphosphonic acid ligands, including N,N′-piperazinebis(methylenephosphonic acid) (H₄L), its racemic and enantiopure (R) 2-methyl (H₄L′ and R-H₄L′) and 2,5-dimethyl (H₄L′′) derivatives, and N,N′-4,4′-bipiperidinebis(methylenephosphonic acid) (H₄LL) are reported. Syntheses of the known phase Y₂(LH₂)₃·5H₂O and the new phases, STA-13(Y) (St Andrews microporous material No. 13) and Y₂(R-L′H₂)₃·4H₂O, from reactions of Y(AcO)₃ with H₄L, H₄L′ and R-H₄L′ respectively are reported. The as-prepared and dehydrated structures of each phase have been determined from either laboratory or synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction data. Reaction of Y(AcO)₃ and H₄L′′ is shown to form a phase with a different structure. The features determining which structure crystallises are discussed. Syntheses of other rare-earth forms of STA-13 (Sc³⁺, Gd³⁺–Yb³⁺) and the porosity of each phase to N₂ are reported. STA-13(Y) is the most porous form with loadings of ∼3 mmol g⁻¹ and ∼4 mmol g⁻¹ for N₂ and CO₂ respectively. MIL-91(Fe) was synthesised for the first time from reactions of Fe³⁺ cations with H₄L. Its structure was confirmed by Rietveld refinement, but it was not porous. The first syntheses of [Fe₄L₁.₅(AcO)₁.₅(OH,H₂O)₃]·0.5NH₄5.5H₂O (L= L or L′) are reported, from reactions of H₄L or H₄L′ in the presence of an excess of Fe³⁺ cations. The phase is related to a previously reported Co phase. The synthesis of divalent metal bisphosphonate STA-12(Mg) (Mg₂(H₂O)₂L·5.6H₂O) was reported for the first time and its structure determined from single crystal X-ray diffraction. The dehydration behaviour of this material was compared with the known forms of STA-12. STA-12(Mg) is porous to both N₂ (∼5.5 mmol g⁻¹) and CO₂ (~ 8.5 mmol g⁻¹). Reaction of H₄LL with Co²⁺ and Ni²⁺ gave two materials isoreticular with STA-12, labelled STA-16(Co) and STA-16(Ni). The structures of both materials were solved from synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction data. On dehydration, STA-16(Co) undergoes a reversible structural transition to an unknown structure. By contrast, STA-16(Ni) retains the same symmetry in the dehydrated form and its structure was determined from synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction data. Both materials are porous to N₂, with an uptake of up to 22.2 mmol g⁻¹, and CO₂ with maximum loading of 21.7 mmol g⁻¹. NLDFT analysis of N₂ adsorption data confirm the crystallographically determined pore radii. Syntheses of other frameworks with divalent cations and initial reactions of H₄LL with trivalent cations are also reported.

Abstract:

Behavioural finance argues that some market anomalies can be explained by assuming investors are not always fully rational. This thesis contributes a greater understanding of the relationship between investor mood and financial markets, through exploring the effect of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) on UK financial markets . Chapter 2, the first empirical chapter, investigates the SAD effect on UK stock portfolio returns, by employing daily returns of all stocks traded on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) from 1988 to 2011. The chapter constructs SAD variables and six stock portfolios to examine the SAD effect in different stock portfolios, with some well-known market anomalies and weather factors are considered. The estimation result supports the existence of the SAD effect in UK stock portfolio returns, and the SAD effect is more pronounced in small size stock portfolios. Chapter 3, explores the SAD effect on UK stock trading activities, by applying a variety of econometric techniques to ascertain whether SAD affects stock portfolio turnover. The analysis indicates the more people suffer from SAD, the less stock turnover, and the SAD effect is more influential on small size stock turnover. Chapter 4 turns to bond markets, aiming to ascertain the SAD effect on UK government bond returns. We study the relationship between SAD indicators and eight government bond returns, and a positive correlation between SAD indicators and government bond returns are uncovered. The result suggests that investors prefer investing in government bonds when suffering from SAD. Overall, this thesis demonstrates a clear and significant relationship between investor mood and UK financial markets, through exploring the SAD effect on stock and government bond markets. This thesis concludes that the onset of SAD leads to lower stock returns and turnover, and higher government bond returns; and that recovery from SAD leads to higher stock returns and turnover, and lower government bond returns.

Abstract:

This thesis compares the foreign policy course undertaken by the German Social Democratic Party (SPD) and the Italian Communist Party (PC I) in the 1960s and 1970s. The thesis analyses where the foreign policy of the two parties converges and diverges, especially with regard to international detente, security policies, the Eastern bloc and European integration. The choice of a broad time frame is justified by the diverse timing and junctures of the SPD's and the PCI's revisionist course. Departing from the assumption that both SPD and PCI were characterised by their national roots and ambitions, the thesis seeks to arrive at party overlapping trends and conclusions as to how political parties address and overcome national and international constraints in spite of ideological divergences. One aim of the comparison is to examine policy revisionism and analyse its ongIns and motivations. Revisionism has its origins in a number of interrelated factors which are often not mutually exclusive. Policy shifts are every so often caused by ideological reconsiderations or a rethinking of, and adaptation to political, economic and social circumstances. The comparative method allows one to make general assumptions and draw parallels about the origins of revisionism, and relate them, where possible, to wider sections of the Western European Left. This process which occurred in the wider context of de-ideologisation was not distinctive to Italian communism or German social democracy but can be observed by examining Western European parties of the Left in general.

Abstract:

Previous studies have demonstrated the positive impact of blended learning (BL) on English as a foreign language (EFL) writing courses. However, enhanced BL using a flipped classroom still needs to be explored. This study develops a flipped approach through the use of videos on an EFL writing course and explores its impact on EFL learners’ intrinsic motivation (IM) and learning outcomes. The research questions identified for the present study are: 1. What is the impact in terms of learning outcomes and intrinsic motivation (IM) of implementing the flipped classroom approach, in comparison with the non-flipped approach, on the English writing skills of EFL learners? 2. In both approaches, what is the relationship between on the one hand, the supporting environment offered and on the other, the satisfaction of basic psychological needs, IM and learning outcomes? 3. What is the relationship in the two approaches between IM and learning outcomes? 4. How do the learners perceive the supporting environment provided by the flipped classroom, in comparison with the non-flipped approach? The present research was conducted with 55 female undergraduate EFL learners in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Two writing classes were selected: one to receive flipped classroom teaching through the use of videos (n=24) and the other, non-flipped teaching (n=31). An experimental design was implemented using a mixed-method approach. Meanwhile, the design of the flipped classroom was underpinned by Sociocultural Theory (SCT). Six participants per group were subsequently interviewed, with diaries being collected weekly from four participants per group. One week of online interaction (via wikis) was extracted for the flipped classroom group (FCG), while both groups undertook pre- and post-writing tests and completed pre- and post-questionnaires. This study used Deci and Ryan’s (1985) self-determination theory (SDT) to construct the conceptual framework. The analysis revealed that the FCG developed their writing outcomes and IM. They also satisfied their psychological need for a sense of competence, relatedness and autonomy to a higher degree than the non-flipped group (NFG). A positive correlation was found between IM and learning outcomes, and between learning outcomes and the supporting environment for the satisfaction of the above-mentioned psychological needs. In addition, from the qualitative data gathered, different types of support were found to be helpful for satisfying these psychological needs using the flipped approach. Several methodological and pedagogical contributions have been made by the design of the study and the flipped approach adopted. A theoretical contribution has also been made through self-determination theory (SDT). Finally, this study provides empirical evidence for policy-makers in higher education in KSA, of the need to implement the flipped classroom in EFL practice.

Bei der Betrachtung des Aufbauprozesses des Wissenschaftssektors zeigt sich, welche Bedeutung die SED der "politischen Eroberung der Universitäten und Hochschulen"<sup>3</sup> zuschrieb. Den Hochschulen der DDR fielen zwei wichtige Aufgaben zu: zum einen galt es den Studenten eine fundierte und qualitativ hohe Ausbildung zu ermöglichen. Zum anderen sollten sie die Studenten politisch-ideologisch erziehen, wobei die Erziehung an erster Stelle, und die Ausbildung erst an zweiter Stelle stand. Den Erziehungsauftrag bekam neben den Hochschullehrern vor allem die FDJ zugewiesen, da es ihr, durch die Arbeit in den Seminar-FDJ-Gruppen möglich schien, auf jeden Einzelnen einzuwirken. Die Arbeit untersucht zunächst, mit welchen Verordnungen (z.Bsp.: Zweite und Dritte Hochschulreform) die DDR Regierung versucht hat, die Autonomie der Hochschule abzuschaffen und die Bildungseinrichtung zu politisieren, wie sich diese Veränderungen an der Technischen Hochschule/Universität Karl-Marx-Stadt ausgewirkt haben und wie die FDJ ihre Erziehungsrolle an dieser Hochschule/Universität wahrgenommen und umgesetzt hat. Resümierend muss gesagt werden, dass obwohl im "Studium [...] fast nichts ohne die FDJ, aber alles mit ihr"<sup>4</sup> ging, die Jugendorganisation ihrem Anspruch nicht gerecht werden konnte. Selbst wer von der Weltanschauung überzeugt war, empfand die Arbeits- und Wirkungsweise oftmals als hölzern und autoritär, nicht auf seine Bedürfnisse ausgerichtet. Die FDJ hatte es nur ungenügend verstanden, Bindeglied zwischen Partei und Jugend zu sein. This thesis deals with the design of automated system of electroplating. The first part is centered on designing the technological process for this electroplating and the setout of operating vats. It also deals with the project of mechanical construction, electrical system, with the computing procedure and the optimum choice of gear for galvanic line model. The work includes the design of a DC motor controller, the computing procedure and the construction of heating element for vats heater simulation. The last part of this thesis offers an insight to the control system and the assembled program. In the addendum, the photo of the realized model, the wiring scheme, and the programme transcript for control galvanic line model can be found.

Diese Dissertation befasst sich mit einem Theorietest des Evolutorischen Institutionalismus in Parteien und ihrer Evolution. Sie will die folgenden Leserkreise ansprechen: die Parteiforscher und die evolutorische institutionelle Theoretiker. Wer sich für eine einheitliche Theorie, mit der sich langfristige Parteienwandlungen sowohl im demokratischen als auch im autokratischen System beschreiben sowie erklären lassen, interessiert, der kann in dieser Arbeit einen neuen theoretischen Ansatz kennenlernen. Wer sich für die Anwendbarkeit des Evolutorischen Institutionalismus interessiert, der kann eine theoretische Konkretisierung und deren empirische Prüfungen erfahren. Außerdem kann diese Dissertation die Leser interessieren, denen ein politisch-kultureller Vergleich zwischen Deutschland und China als interessant erscheint. Die Dissertation wurde anhand folgender Vorgehensweise in zwei Teilen entwickelt: Im ersten Teil wurden die wichtigsten analytischen Kategorien des Evolutorischen Institutionalismus mit Hilfe der Parteientypologien durch deduktives Arbeiten in Bezug zu politischen Parteien entfaltet. Anschließend wurden die Hauptaussagen des Evolutorischen Institutionalismus Partei entsprechend abgeleitet und ausformuliert. Damit ließ sich die erste Forschungsfrage, wie und warum sich politische Parteien wandeln, im Licht des Evolutorischen Institutionalismus theoretisch beantwortet. Im zweiten Teil wurden die ausgearbeiteten theoretischen Aussagen in der Praxis der Parteienentwicklungen am Fallbeispiel der Sozialdemokratischen Partei Deutschlands und der Kommunistischen Partei Chinas allgemein empirisch geprüft. Bei der allgemeinen Analyse der Geschichte der SPD und der KPCh bezog man umfangreiche geschichtliche Zäsuren und Persönlichkeiten mit ein, bei denen sehr verschiedene Phänomene auftraten. Dabei ließen diese sich ohne Schwierigkeiten durch einige EI-Muster ausmachen, was damit in der Konsequenz die Reichweite (umfangreichste Phänomene beschreiben und erklären zu können) sowie die Sparsamkeit (mit möglichst wenigen neuen Begriffen) des Evolutorischen Institutionalismus bestätigt. Daraufhin wurden vier konkretere Fälle, die die bereits formulierte Thesen anscheinend widerlegen können, präzise und tiefer untersucht. Bei der Betrachtung dieser Fälle ergaben sich die Fragen, warum sich die Inkraftsetzung des Godesberger Programms ca. zehn Jahre verzögert hat, obwohl die SPD schon seit Ende des 2. Weltkriegs kontinuierlich Wahlniederlagen erlitten hatte; warum Erich Ollenhauer schließlich der Parteireform der SPD zustimmte, obwohl er damals als der zuverlässige Nachfolger Kurt Schumachers galt und am Anfang seines Partei-Vorsitzes den politischen Leitfaden Schumachers ohne Abweichung weiterführen wollte; warum die Kulturrevolution durch die KPCh in einem Zeitraum von zehn Jahren durchgeführt werden konnte, obwohl diese der chinesischen Gesellschaft Chaos gebracht hat; warum Xi Jinping anstrebte, das chinesische kommunistische System aufrechtzuerhalten, obwohl er die kommunistische Revolution aus der Zeit vor der Entstehung der Volksrepublik China nicht erlebt hatte. Grundsätzlich haben diese Fälle die beiden EI-Thesen sowie deren Genauigkeit und Tiefe bestätigt, obwohl analytische Ambivalenzen an einigen Stellen auftraten. Damit lässt sich bestätigen, dass der Evolutorische Institutionalismus bei der Beschreibung und Erklärung des Wandels politischer Parteien gilt. Somit hat er gleichzeitig seine theoretischen Vorteile und Nachteile aufgezeigt. Die wesentlichen Ergebnisse der Dissertation bestehen dahin: Geänderte biografische Prägungen wichtiger (neuer) Parteimitglieder (vor allem der Parteispitze und der Funktionäre) beim Generationswechsel führen zum Wandel der Leitidee(n) A der Partei in Form einer fehlerhaften Replikation des Musters A oder in Form einer Rekombination von Muster A und eigenen Prägungen. Wenn Ressource R, die für das Überleben einer Partei notwendig ist, auf Grund des gesellschaftlichen Wandels (Sozialwandels?) – d.h. einer Veränderung von Funktionsanforderungen der Gesellschaft an die Partei (Funktion F wird zur Funktion F´) oder einer Änderung der Kapazität von Ressource R in der Gesellschaft selbst – nicht mehr ausreichend zur Verfügung steht, dann muss die Partei (um zu überleben) den neuen Nischenbedingungen ihre Leitideen dahingehend anpassen, dass ihr Ressource R weiterhin ausreichend erhalten bleibt. Der Evolutorischen Institutionalismus stimmt bei Beschreibung und Erklärung des Wandels politischer Parteien und zeigte sich in der Parteienanalyse sehr starke Gültigkeit und Anwendbarkeit im Sinne von Genauigkeit, Reichweit, Produktivität, interne Konsistenz, Tiefe, Einfachheit und Sparsamkeit. Außerdem ermöglichen dessen angemessener analytischer Freiheitsgrad verschiedene Aspekte desselben Gegenstandes.
