Abstract:
Using data from the National Survey of Families and Households, the authors investigate how a stepfather's demand for conformity from a stepchild influences stepfather-stepchild relationship quality. Drawing from normative resource theory as well as from Coleman's theory of social capital, the authors consider whether the effect depends on the social capital that the stepchild derives from his or her relationship with the biological father. The authors find that when the stepchild's social capital from this relationship is great, the stepparent's demand for conformity negatively affects stepfather-stepchild relationship quality. Otherwise, its effect is positive.

Abstract:
Dean Falk has strategically explored “mother-infant gestural and vocal interactions . . . in chimpanzees and humans” in order to offer hypotheses “about the evolutionary underpinnings that preceded the first glimmerings of language.” Though she offers compelling evidence for many interesting hypotheses as to the epigenesis of language, other possibilities have yet to be explored. Here we explore the role of gestural communication among deaf signers and the neural correlates associated with this type of communication.

Abstract:
Abstract The present study is part of a wider research about conjugality and parenthood in remarriage and aims to investigate the perception of stepmothers about their relationship with their stepchildren. For that, a qualitative research was carried out, in which 16 stepmothers of the middle socioeconomic segment, aged 28 and 43 years, were interviewed. The results were analyzed according to the content analysis method in its categorical aspect. Six categories of analysis emerged from the material. In order to achieve the objectives formulated in this study, the category stepmother-stepchild dyad, divided into two subcategories: bonding with the stepchildren and participation in education will be discussed. It was observed that the relationship between the stepmother and her stepchildren, besides being built gradually, is crossed by the father and the mother who authorizes or shies away the bond between the stepmother-stepchild dyad.

Abstract:
A krónikus, étkezéssel összefüggést nem mutató epigastrialis fájdalmak hátterében az esetek néhány százalékában a truncus coeliacus külső kompressziója áll. Esetismertetés: A szerzők egy 58 éves nőbeteg kórtörténetét ismertetik, akinél a hasi szervek ischaemiája, a felhasi fájdalom hátterében a preoperatív kivizsgálás a truncus coeliacuson rövid szakaszú stenosist okozó, a rekeszizom-hiátus aorticusát övező inas-izmos ívet igazolt. Előkészítést követően műtétet végeztünk, a trifurcatio eredésétől számított 8–10 mm-re levő heges, gyűrűszerű leszorítást felhasítottuk, a ganglion coeliacum egy részét eltávolítottuk. A beteg a posztoperatív 6. napon gyógyultan, panaszmentesen otthonába távozott. Megbeszélés: A klasszikus értelemben vett angina abdominalis a hasi szervek relatív ischaemiájának következménye.
