Abstract:
The article deals with challenges and opportunities for international labour migration in Ukraine. It is stressed that the approach to regulation of international labour migration should be comprehensive and should encompass a whole range of factors influencing migration flows, which will ensure making appropriate economic and social changes. The present concept of regulation of international labour migration in Ukraine is analyzed and the need for its improvement is discussed. The priority goals of the Concept of State Migration Policy in Ukraine are highlighted. It is stated that state migration policy is carried out in both emigration and immigration. Some of the key factors of immigration and emigration are identified. It is proved that migration policy in Ukraine is being shaped towards the European Union, which envisages a mutually beneficial redistribution of human resources over the countries. The paper claims, that achieving the quality of life as high as in the EU countries is a key demand for the integration into the European Union. It is emphasized that the existing legislation on migration has some weak points related to developing and fulfilling human potential of migrants. A range of measures to regulate international labour migration is introduced. Based on the research findings, the following actions are proposed to meet the aims of regulation of international labour migration in Ukraine: reduction of emigration from Ukraine by improving its socio-economic status; training and retraining of potential emigrants tailored to the specific characteristics of labor market growth in the country; stimulation of internal mobility aimed at the reduction of emigration; regulation of external employment of Ukrainian citizens; creation of conditions for attracting and efficient using of migrants’ money transfers; using transnational connections of migrants; halting the employment of national human resources; stimulation of immigration attractiveness for certain professional; halting illegal and undesirable migration; regulation of immigrants in Ukraine; legalization of illegal present immigrants; signing bilateral agreements between countries on return migration; stimulating re-emigration; protection of the rights and interests of labour migrants in Ukraine and abroad.

Abstract Introduction. Easing labour pain is an extremely important issue in obstetric practice. Various physiotherapy methods are increasingly often applied in obstetric practice. Transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation (TENS) aiming at central and peripheral modulation of pain sensation is one of them.Aim. The aim of the study was to analyse the impact of transcutaneous electrical stimulation (TENS) on easing labour pain.Summary. The TENS method is regarded as effective since it increases both the pain threshold and secretion of endogenous opioids. Non-pharmacological methods of pain management during labour, including electrotherapy TENS methods are safe and can be used in most patients.

Abstract:
Background: TENS by neuro-physiological means seems to help in relieving labour pain. Most of the pregnant women are not aware of the coping strategies for labour pain. As a result they tend to be restless and stress themselves by shouting or screaming due to pain. By using TENS, women in labour can save their energy without stressing themselves and make use of the saved energy for pushing the fetus during the second stage of labour. The objective was to analyze the effect of TENS on relieving labour pain among the postnatal mothers who had used TENS to cope up with the labour pain. Methods: Data collected from 1041 women [Primipara (n=702) and Multipara (n=339)] who used TENS to cope up pain throughout the labour was used for this retrospective study. Results: 88% of women had vaginal delivery and only 12% of women had cesarean section. More than 50% of both primiparous and multiparous women who had normal and vacuum assisted vaginal delivery experienced excellent pain relief using TENS. Almost 40 % of both primiparous and multiparous women who had forceps delivery and lower segment cesarean section experienced excellent pain relief using TENS. Except 2% of women with normal vaginal delivery, none of them stated that there was no relief of pain using TENS.Conclusions: TENS had a very good effect in coping up the labour pain and could be used during the first and second stages of labour.

Abstract:
The vision for maternity services focuses on women-centred care with choice, control and promoting normality at its centre, thus emphasising the need to empower women to make choices and decisions regarding their care in labour and birth. Some women will choose the medical model of care, however others prefer to be in control and choose to use non-pharmacological alternatives for pain control in labour such as Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS). TENS has enabled the provision of non-invasive, mobile, self-controlled pain relief for women in labour and is used extensively by women in the UK who, when asked, assess it favourably and say they would use it again. Currently the available literature on TENS fails to consider individual women’s experiences of using TENS for labour and birth, this study therefore seeks to redress this balance. Set in the south of England, the study uses Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) in order to explore the experiences of twenty purposively selected women, who were interviewed to expose their in-depth experiences of using TENS for pain control in labour and birth. The analysis of the verbatim transcripts revealed comprehensive findings ensuring an idiographic focus along with making claims for the larger group of women. In this study women used TENS as part of a combination of more natural pain control or as a ‘sole’ form of pain control for labour and birth. TENS was recognised as being part of a wider strategy for the maintenance of control in labour and normal birth for women. A super-ordinate theme of ‘control’ emerged from the data particularly relating to ‘internal control of self’, ‘external control of others’ and ‘control of the TENS machine’. Women’s positive experiences were enhanced by remaining mobile, using drug free pain control, being knowledgeable, having partners’ and midwives’ support, being distracted from their pain and trusting in TENS. By uncovering a group of women’s in-depth experiences of using TENS for pain control in labour and birth this study has filled a “gap” in the knowledge base. In addition, the findings suggest that TENS was identified as an ‘enabling mechanism’ for the women in order to be in control of a normalised birth. Women were able to maintain their independence, make decisions and actively take part in their pain control using TENS.

Many Obstetrical Centers have been using T.E.N.S. (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) trying the reduction, or even the interruption of drugs on pain relief during labour. As we observe, only cross section studies were performed. No late effects were described. Recently, modern techniques have been used to evaluate the genomics and proteomics, and have also been able to detect gene mutations where proteomics change only later on cell’s life. Relate, in this work, some of the possible consequences of such a procedure longitudinal, related to the Bioeletrogenesis(Science,2004). In this study chose the method: systematic review that is a major feature of the practice based on evidence, which consists of a summary of the results of research related to a specific problem. The study is intended to provide subsidies that provide reflections for the construction and / or application of systematic reviews of the stage performance of physiotherapy in obstetrics. For that several steps have been completed for evaluation as to its potential use in humans. The stage one refers to a characterization of the problem, identifying the need for this review, to a proposal and development of the project. Stage two refers to the use of databases for investigation of studies relevant to the extraction of relevant data, a total of twenty-five articles. In stage three, don’t was identification parameters that could be used for comparison and evaluation by statistical tests. The stage four summarizes the work through this dissertation, which involved the application of scientific strategies with the aim of limiting biases, gathers, evaluates critically and synthesizes all the relevant studies that respond to a specific clinical question. Moreover, it promotes the upgrade of health professionals, since it synthesizes large body of knowledge and helps explain the differences between studies with the same question clinic.

Abstract:
The transcutaneous electrical nervous stimulation (TENS) is a resource that consists of administering electrical impulses or stimuli of variable frequency, asymmetric or symmetric of two-phase chains to superficial electrodes applied on the painful region. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of TENS for pain relief during the active phase of cervix dilation in labor and to assess the degree of maternal satisfaction related to the experience during the study. This is a randomized controlled trial with 46 pregnant women, divided into control group (CG) and intervention group (IG). All patients were primiparous with cervical dilation of 4 cm in spontaneous labor with regular contractions for this phase without the use of oxytocic drugs during labor, lowrisk pregnant women with intact membranes and a single fetus. The application of the TENS was made by the researcher in charge, setting two pairs of electrodes in the paravertebral regions, at the level of the nerve roots from T10 to L1 and another pair between S2 to S4. The parameters used in TENS were: frequency 100 Hz, pulse width 100 us, intensity according to the sensitivity of the patient and duration of application of 30 continuous minutes. Pain assessment was performed immediately before and after therapy with the numerical categorical scale (ECN), the visual analogue scale (VAS), the body chart for pain location and the reduced form of McGill Questionnaire. In the puerperium, in addition to these assessments, the level of patient satisfaction related to the intervention and the presence of a health professional during the active phase of labor has been searched. The results showed statistically significant differences between the two groups regarding the intensity of pain following the implementation of the TENS, with only 34% of IG patients maintaining the score of pain as 7 or more, in contrast to 83% of CG patients. On the other hand, no statistical differences related to the location of the pain after the application of TENS. The mothers of the IG were more satisfied with the experience and the ongoing support received during the study period. The maternal and perinatal outcomes were similar in both groups. The results show that the application of TENS in the early active phase of labor relieves maternal pain. Moreover, the presence of ongoing support has a positive effect on patients undergoing this intervention

Labour pain can be severe, and relieving this pain can reduce physiological stress on mother and baby. Epidural and spinal analgesia is by far the most effective modality. Epidurals do not increase the likelihood of Caesarean delivery. Entonox is the next best choice for labour analgesia. Intravenous opioids, especially pethidine, have very little analgesic effect and cause sedation as well as other negative effects on the mother and baby. Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation has a limited role confined to early labour.

Abstract:
This book maintains that container shipping is vital to the actualisation of globalisation, and that without it, globalisation would remain a concept rather than reality. It argues that container shipping has been academically overlooked as a global business sector in favour of more prominent sectors such as oil or arms trade, and aims to provide a complete history of containerisation from the 1950s to the turn of the millennium. This history explores the growth of the container industry due to prominent innovation in vessel design, early adoption of the internet, large international mergers, and significant physical alterations to the global port system. With particular emphasis on the east-west trade, the chapters cover the growth and development of the container industry, to the social changes experienced by seafaring labour forces, the cultural impact of the container - bringing a domineering land-presence to maritime activity, through to the environmental concerns surrounding the industry. The study is not a quantitative economic analysis of the industry, rather, an updated history that strives to demonstrate the importance of transport infrastructures to any consideration of global business sectors, by providing evidence of the container industry’s stimulation of the global economy.

Abstract:
The world economy is in a bad shape, largely because of misguided policies in the United States and Europe in response to the crisis. The crisis is taking too long to resolve, leading to unnecessary losses of income and jobs. Recovery has been sluggish and unbalanced between labour and capital, and between industry and finance. This is mainly because governments have been unwilling to remove the debt overhang through timely, orderly, and comprehensive restructuring, and fiscal policy has acted to restrain recovery, resulting in excessive reliance on unconventional monetary policy. The ultra-easy monetary policy has led to speculation and asset bubbles and created a global debt trap rather than stimulating consumption and productive investment. This policy approach has not only failed to boost growth, but also aggravated global systemic problems, including financial fragility in both advanced and developing economies, and inequality, underconsumption and structural demand gap.

Full text
Abstract:
Joined-up government seems to be able to present itself in various forms of being understood in several ways. It is therefore subject to various interpretations and divergent views. Some contend that joined-up government is inherently centralizing hence it is disadvantageous for the devolved units of the government, some on the other hand argue that joined-up government is not essentially centralizing. This chapter evaluates New Labour's initial efforts at stimulating joining-up at the local level by detailing the rise of the multitude partnership bodies since New Labour rose into power. The chapter also discusses the top-down-driven policy style that New Labour adopted in their efforts for partnerships. This style caused chaotic repercussions in the local and regional governance. Discussed as well in the chapter are the ways in which New Labour tried to localize joined-up government. The first method was the premise of adopting autonomy for the local government to pursue community leadership at the local level while the second method proposed earned autonomy or constrained discretion wherein the local government can lead and yet be under the guidance of the central government. Both of these models of governance are considered here to determine whether they can be institutionalized. The last section of the chapter presents a discussion on the seemingly centralizing nature of joined-up government.

With emerging economies facing significant lags in the use of information technology to improve their productivity and compete with industrialized economies, the availability of relatively lower-cost labor in the emerging economies is considered a powerful asset that can compensate for their technological disadvantage. However, regulating the labor market often proves to be rather challenging as it is important that a balance be struck between protecting workers and stimulating economic growth. This chapter analyzes the literature on labor market regulations in the emerging economies to observe that the trade-off between employment protection legislation (EPL), job creation, productivity, and innovation often cited in the literature is not conclusive.

The power of the labor movement in stimulating the reaction against the New Deal is well known, but the consumer movement should be recognized as another major trigger. Women were important in the ascendance of both industrial unionism and organized consumerism, and conservatives highlighted women's role in an effort to undermine public confidence in those movements and their allied government agencies.

The learning trajectories of working class writers reveals the importance of informal opportunities to write in workshops within a spirit of solidarity and equality. Many aspects of working class life supported writing. Workshops provided a vital means of stimulating and supporting the aspiring writer, including domestic life, sympathetic individuals as well as participation in labour movement struggles. Writers started to read critically and share their work with a view to making significant improvements. Some writers received structured support from cultural organisations and went on to achieve considerable success. Personal changes could be both gradual and climactic although the obstacles, both internal and external, were ever-present.

Abstract:
With the increase of salaries of medical workers in Kyrgyzstan their income increased. But the desire to earn additional income from patients not disappeared. As practice shows, giving money to the hands of health care workers is widespread in health system of Kyrgyzstan. It is not only drops the image of doctors, but also causes serious damage to the family budget of citizens who are in a hospital bed, or at the reception of doctor's. The main reason for the existence of informal payments in health care is considered a relatively low level of wages. If in the real sector the financial stimulation carried out by the expense of encouraging profit in medicine only source of stimulation is wage fund. The stimulating part should be increased at the expense of main part of wages. İnasmuch as there is no profit in medicine as a source of encouragement it is used the funds received from paid services. The basis for motivation of labor in medicine is to avoid time-based wage system and to introduction of piecework forms in different versions. Criterion for evaluating health care workers is the health of the patient after treatment.

Abstract:
Abstract Data Science is the current gold rush. While many industries have benefitted from applications of data science, including machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI), the applications in upstream oil and gas are still somewhat limited. Some examples of applications of AI include seismic interpretations, facility optimization, and data driven modeling – forecasting. While still naïve, we will explore cases where data science can be used in the day to day field optimization and development. The Midway Sunset (MWSS) field in San Joaquin Valley, California has over 100 years of history. The field was discovered in 19011 and had limited development through the 1960s. Since the start of thermal stimulation in 1964, the field has seen phased thermal flooding and cyclic stimulation. Recently there has been an increase in heat mining vertical and horizontal wells to tap the remaining hot oil. As with any brownfield, the sweet spots are long gone. Effort is now to optimize the field development and tap by-passed oil, thereby increasing recovery. The current operational focus includes field wide holistic review of remaining resource potential. Resources in the MWSS reservoirs are produced by cyclic steam method. Cyclic thermal stimulation has been effective as an overall depletion process and for stimulating the near wellbore region to increase production. It is imperative to properly identify target wells and sands for cyclic stimulation. Cyclic steaming in depleted zones or cold reservoirs is often uneconomical. The benefit comes when we can identify and stimulate only the warm oil. Identification of warm oil and short listing the wells for cyclic stimulation is a labor-intensive process. The volume of data can get so large that it may not be feasible for a professional to effectively do the analysis. In this paper, we present a case study of data analytics for high grading wells for cyclic stimulation. This method utilizes the machine power to integrate reservoir, and production data to identify and rank wells for cyclic stimulation and potentially increase success rate by minimizing suboptimal cyclic candidates.

Abstract:
Early child development is related to early education, health, nutrition, and psychosocial development; therefore, the holistic concept of early approach combines elements from the area of stimulation of the child, health, nutrition, speech therapy, psychological counselling, physical development support, etc. The need for the development of integrated early education services and their extension to the area of 0-3 years are priorities of the European strategies assumed through a complex of educational policy measures, having as a priority the development of quality early education services for the benefit of all prerequisites for lowering the schooling rate (Strategy for early childhood education, Strategy for parental education, Strategy for reducing early school leaving in Romania, Study on the evaluation of public policies in the field of early childhood education - Saber Early Childhood). In this context of the development of early childhood education, numerous inequalities are identified in the implementation of European and national strategies and programs in the development of early childhood education services, supported by economic, political, social factors, etc. In order to make them compatible at European level, we consider it necessary to support training and development programs for staff providing educational services in early childhood education institutions. The purpose of this study is to acknowledge the opinion of the bodies with attributions in the pre-kindergarten and preschool education in Romania, as well as of the civil society and public opinion, as a prerequisite for identifying school policy measures and developing programs for training the teaching staff so as to be able to provide educational services in early childhood education (representatives responsible for early childhood education in school inspectorates and Houses of the Teaching Staff, teaching staff in preschool educational institutions, representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, representatives of the Social Assistance Directorate, managers of nursery schools, representatives of NGOs and other categories of organizations with experience in the field, parents and interested representatives of the civil society and public opinion). The present study is a qualitative research based on the focus-group method, but also a quantitative research by using the questionnaire-based survey, being carried out on a representative sample of 100 persons (2 focus-group of 25 persons, respectively 50 persons involved in the survey-based questionnaire). The conclusions of this study highlight the need to restructure the system of early childhood education in Romania through interventions at the legislative level and ensure a unitary system of policy and intervention in early childhood education. Also, we believe it is imperative to reorganize the training system of the human resource, by developing complementary competences of the teaching staff, adapted to the training needs of the early childhood population, ensuring a valuable inclusive and integrated intervention.
