This thesis is about development and construction of systems for building automation. At the beginning it´s focused on usage of building automation. Short describe used topology of installation and available systems on the market. The second chapter is about designing of hardware’s elements systems. Then it’s describing control unit Raspberry Pi 3, microprocessors for communication and slave modules. For my thesis I am also engaged in interface communication and designing of I/O systems. The third and fourth chapter is describing software equipment’s of the system. The parts of microprocessor firmware and manner of control logic creating and visualization in control unit module are described in details. Last chapter contains the description of construction of testing module and measuring of system parameters.

Abstract:
The master’s thesis is focused on the UHF RFID reader EXIN-1 signal processing. The first part describes the concept of the EXIN-1 front end, its basic testing and possible communication interfaces for reader control and for receiving and transmitting baseband signals. The second part of this work is aimed to a simple description of EPCglobal Class-1 Generation-2 UHF RFID Protocol, especially to used modulations and codings. In the last part, a block connection between the front end and an ARM Cortex-M4 microcontroller discovery board is designed. The microcontroller is used for generating of all required signals and also for receiving incoming signals and processing them for identification numbers of RFID cards (tags), which are in the reading range of the reader. A decoding algorithm is designed in MATLAB software and implemented to the selected microcontroller. Obtained identification data are displayed on an LCD display and also sent to a PC through a serial communication.

This semestral thesis is concerned on facilities of using DebugMonitor exception for debugging software which run on ARM Cortex-M4. The comunnication between debugged software and debugging master is implemented via CAN bus. The result is support for debugging without special debugging equipment. For support of this type of debug this thesis implemented code library called SDebug. It's managing parts of Cortex-M4 core, which are userd for debug.

Abstract:
This thesis deals about a digitizer design. The digitizer is part of air-band monitoring receiver. Requirement is digitalization of two audio signals. The device communicates with PC through USB interface and it provides reading and writing to SD card. The STM32F4DISCOVERY development board with processor STM32F407VGT6 was used for design and function testing. This development kit is supplemented with other peripherals on an extern board (input audio circuits and SD slots). The thesis describes briefly theory for each issue which this project deals with. One part is engaged to the hardware design. Then there is a description of the PC software for the device controlling. The main part of the thesis is about the development of the firmware for MCU, which manages AD conversion, formatting of the voice signal, USB communication (HID and Mass Storage class), recording and reading from the SD card and additional peripherals.

This master’s thesis deals with creating a universal module with Ethernet interface and its using for digital values measurement. The main module components are gate array FPGA, microprocessor, PHY chip and RJ45 connector. Printed circuit board is in this thesis designed in Eagle. The chase for board is drawn in SketchUp and printed on a 3D printer. There is a code implemented in created universal module that is performing the function of logic analyzer. Data measured by the analyzer are sent to the Ethernet using UDP/IPv4 protocol. The last part is creating an application in C# to display the measured waveforms on a PC.

This thesis deals with design of a laser position detector. Different types of sensor are mentioned and compared at the beginning. Special attention is paid to quadrant sensor. Its pros and cons are discussed with designing methods. The sensor is simulated in Matlab to test its output response. Then the laboratory tests follow to meassure real response of the chip. Then follows the design of the detector based on measured and simulated data. In the conclusion of this thesis parameters of created device are evaluated.

The paper discusses a possibility of localization of a sound source inside a wooden beam. The method is based on measuring signals from two microphones, assuming the sound source lies between the microphones. The position of the sound source is calculated from the delay between the signals. The calculation of the delay is done by correlation of the signals in the frequency range. ARM architecture microcontroller is used to for the calculations.

Abstract:
This thesis deals with design and implementation of multi-channel audio signal streaming via local network. The aim was to choose suitable processor for the transmission of up to 32 channels of audio signal, which will be used for implementation. Also the low-latency ASIO driver was studied and was used to provide timestamps for synchronization. The transmission protocol was designed for signaling and for the real time stream. The actual transmission is provided by TCP protocol. In conclusion, I created the application for development board with choosen MCU. Finally whole solution was tested with real data.

The aim of the diploma thesis was to design active loudspeakers. The project contains the final solution of the designed loudspeakers that have a digital input of the multichannel audio signal with both sided data communication. In the work, there are also created circuits for processing an audio signal with a following amplification for the loudspeakers. Added functions are an infra acceptor for a remote control and binary outputs for assistant functions - a control of the motor and an indication via LED diodes.

La tesi ha come obiettivo principale lo sviluppo hardware e software di una piattaforma di monitoraggio per dispensatori di bevande. Questo tipo di progetto si colloca nel mondo dei dispositivi IoT che sono caratterizzati dalla presenza di connessione internet e dall'ingente scambio di dati. Nell'elaborato sono descritti i passi progettuali in maniera dettagliata che mi hanno condotto alla realizzazione di due differenti prototipi: il primo, utile per validare i sistemi di acquisizione e di invio dati; il secondo, sviluppato con lo scopo di eliminare le schede di sviluppo utilizzate nella prima revisione e ridurre costi ed ingombri. Dopo la descrizione delle parti hardware ho proceduto alla descrizione del firmware che controlla tutte le parti della scheda, ponendo particolare attenzione sulle parti più importanti del sistema. Al termine dell'elaborato viene fatto un breve resoconto dei risultati ottenuti e dei probabili sviluppi futuri che il progetto prevede di affrontare.

The aim of my thesis is to understand the manufactured thermostats and design own thermostat to allow the most basic possibilities classical thermostats plus setup and management via web interface. It is a realization of a small web server that works closely with hardware peripherals. In addition, the web interface is still possible to manage a Web server of TFT LCD screen or applications for smart phone with Android. In addition, the thermostat allows the temperature reading from the BLE modules. All temperatures are continuously stored in a database and graphically processed.

This final thesis deals with adaptive control of small brewery. Contains a short description of brewing technology and adaptive control. Includes design of small brawery and control system based on STM32F407 Cortex-M4 microcontroller. For online identification is used Recursive Least Squares Method. The controller function perform a modified PSD controller with filtered derivative component, reducing the first overshot and dynamic antiwindup. The proposed adaptive controller is implemented into microcontroller. Created device i used for semi-automatic beer production.

The thesis is focused on the issue of sensorless vector control of a synchronous motor with permanent magnets in the low-speed range. In the first part, there is a brief description of the synchronous motor and the necessary transformations for the application of vector control. This is followed by the overview of sensorless methods for position estimation by injecting a high-frequency harmonic signal. The practical part is devoted to the implementation of a control algorithm to develop kit STM32NUCLEO-L476RG, which is preceded by the identification of all engine parameters. As part of the implementation, a structure including current, speed and position control was designed. The functionality and robustness of the settings have been successfully tested due to the different inertia and load.

It is processed filtration, time weighting, calculation of sound leve and loudness weighting. The sound level is then sent via the serial communication USART. This thesis includes a theoretical analysis of noise and its human perceptions. It also describes the development platform used.

This masters's thesis deals with choice and implementation of two free real-time operating systems into powerful 32-bit microcontroller with ARM Cortex-M4F core. First, there is shortly described the ARM architecture in general, its programmer's model, instruction set and Cortex-M4F core in brief. Next is description of the architecture of used microcontroller STM32F407VGT6 from ST Microelectronics, description of its integrated memories and their organization and functions of its integrated A/D and D/A converters. Next part of this thesis deals with searching real-time operating systems with ARM Cortex-M4F core support and then choose two of these systems for the implementation. The chosen operating systems are more closely described in two following chapters. Next chapter analyses possible implementations of the digital PSD controller and more complex system of such controllers using real-time operating system. Following chapter describes implementation of chosen operating systems and designed controllers. Last chapter deals with evaluation of features and qualities of the chosen real-time operating systems for implementation of embedded control system.

In this work I aimed at designing a universal system for testing either STM32F407/417 by STMicroelectronics and later various sensors and communication buses. The result then is a main board with many specific connectors for individual buses even with connectors making all I/O pins accessible at the same time. Thanks to advanced switching regulators the power supply is capable of accepting a wide range of sources like single Li-Ion cell, pair of alkaline cells, 12V Lead battery, common wall power adapters (both DC and AC up to 15 Vpp ), USB, laboratory power supplies with multiple outputs and finally POE (Power Over Ethernet). Supply voltages are supervised by voltage comparators with an optical signalisation. (It is possible to determine the sick branch without a measuring instrument and blowing components in the most cases.) Another important parameter was a robustness of the supply and communication lines. There is a number of TVSs, chokes, and big and low ESR capacitors A PC software is intended for a basic functionality demonstration only.

Abstract:
The thesis is focused on developing a control system for a students project of racing car Falcon with pneumatic propulsion system. The electronic design was splitted into 4 standalone modules to increase reliability and mainain- ablitity of the system. The modules are engine control unit, power supply, human machine interface and speedometer. A CAN bus with customly designed communication protocol is used to interconnect these modules. Except the pneumatic circuit control the elekctronics takes care also about measuring the race related data (pressures in the pneumatic circuit, car speed, etc.). These values are stored on SD card and optionally sent over a wireless link to PC. In the second part of the thesis design of the firmware is described. For the debugging purposes a logging system was developed. The log messages from all modules are sent over CAN and stored on the SD card for post-mortem analysis. Unit tests were written for all elementary software blocks. The Falcon vehicle with this control system participated in the competition organised by the Hungarian company Aventics during May 2019. The Falcon ended on 8th place in long distance race and on 7th place in arcade race.

La fiabilité des microcontrôleurs est cruciale compte tenu de leur utilisation massive dans de nombreux domaines, surtout dans des environnements sévères. De ce fait, la robustesse aux perturbations électromagnétiques, en particulier à propos des alimentations, est un axe de développement majeur, que ce soit pour acquérir un avantage comparatif sur le marché, ou simplement pour assurer la sécurité des biens et des personnes. En ce sens, nous avons étudié le test de ces circuits soumis à des agressions transitoires rapides en salve définies par la norme IEC 61000-4-4. Les mécanismes spécifiques de propagation de la perturbation en mode commun sont mis en évidence, ainsi que leur conversion en mode différentiel. Plusieurs méthodes de mesure, dont certaines originales, ont été développées pour valider cette conversion, ainsi que les modes de propagation. Sur cette base, le réseau de distribution des alimentations a été particulièrement étudié et son influence sur la robustesse du circuit a été mise en évidence. Enfin, cette thèse ouvre de nouvelles perspectives d’amélioration de la robustesse des microcontrôleurs, pour ce type d’agression, et donc de leur fiabilité
The reliability of the microcontrollers is crucial considering their massive use in numerous domains, especially in severe environments. Therefore, the robustness in the electromagnetic disturbances, in particular for the power supply network, is a major development, whether it is to acquire a comparative advantage on the market, or simply to assure the goods and people safety. Therefore, we studied the Fast Transient Burst test of integrated circuits, as defined by the IEC 61000-4-4 standard. The specific propagation mechanisms of the disturbance in common mode are highlighted, as well as their conversion in differential mode. Several measurements methods, among which certain novel, were developed to validate this conversion, as well as the propagation modes. Based on this, the power distribution network was particularly studied and its influence on the robustness of the circuit was highlighted. Finally, this work opens new perspectives of improvement of the microcontrollers’ robustness, for this kind of aggression, and thus their reliability

Main accomplishment of this master’s thesis is to make a module for verification of the function binary and analog inputs (analog inputs only for current loop between 0-20mA) on data logger MODAS DataPoint. Hardware testing device will be made on development kit STM32F3-Discovery from STMicroelecronics Company. Device generates testing signals for confirmation of the function MODAS DataPoint device. Testing device communicates with MODAS DataPoint device via Ethernet, communication between PC application and hardware of the testing device is realized by USB interface in DFU mode. Solution included PC application, where you can connect to the tester device and tested Modas DP device. Furtheremore, the test starts here and application inform user about during a test, processed measured data and generate output protocols.

Abstract:
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of plasma generators. Specificantlly, the work focuses on the design of HMI devices for plasma generators, including the design of the control part of the generator. The main advantage of controlling the plasma generator using an HMI device is the ability to quickly change important parameters. The HMI device allows convenient switching of the generator output frequency without the need to interfere with the wiring, which leads to higher efficiency when working with the plasma generator. Another advantage of the HMI device is the display of all important information on the LCD display. The work deals with the basic theory of plasma and its use, the division of microcontrollers and the description of their peripherals, the selection of components used and their wiring. The last part of the work is devoted to the software of the plasma generator.

The subject of master´s thesis the problematics of current loop. Within the thesis, the basic components of current loop and the possibilities of its usage are described. There has also been an analysis made of the crucial functions of analyzer which is currently being in the process of development. A focus is put on mode of source and measure. The related functions are crucial in terms of testing and simulation of current loop. Furthermore, the SPI is described and it is used to establish access to the analyzer’s display. The usage of FMEA method has been chosen for the purpose of circuit’s reliability assessment. Practical part describes development of the analyzer and its parts. FMEA method application for selected fault states is presented in final part.

Contactless cards are everywhere nowadays due to their ease to use and low price to produce. In addition, their reliability is excellent. That is why they are used in systems where security is essential within a low price. To develop the associated systems (cards, readers, terminals), efficient tools are needed. These tools can be a spy analyzing any communication or an emulator that can act and answer exactly as a real contactless card. The objective of this thesis was to develop a contactless card emulator on a product that is currently only spying, the NomadLAB of KEOLABS. The emulator feature is based on a discontinued product, the ProxiCARD, and it has for main objective to be compliant with the ISO 14443 standard. Through the analysis of its architecture and its current performance, I have developed a complete system that can be integrated into the ecosystem of the KEOLABS products. The features I developed take place into the source code of the NomadLAB, at the level of its ARM microcontroller in language C, and in its FPGA in language VHDL. The ARM is here to handle all the smart part of the transmission, while the FPGA to handle the coding and decoding process. In addition, I developed an antenna able to on one hand receive the signal from a reader and on the other hand to reply to it by modulating the magnetic field. I also developed and added my controls to the current computer software. Finally, I have written a lot of testing to make sure that this new system is reliable. The NomadLAB is now able to emulate a contactless card complying with ISO14443 standard, while keeping its spy features, and its control through a computer.

This thesis deals with the design and realization of a DC/DC converter, which allows power conversion from 10-52 V input voltage to 10-52 V output voltage at a maximum output current of 3 A. The converter can communicate with the superior system via the CAN. In the first chapter I deal with the available integrated circuits of DC/DC converters, from which I choose one for my application. In the second chapter, I propose a block scheme of the converter, which includes the requirements from the assignment as well as my additional ones. In the third chapter I deal with the design of an electronic circuit and with the calculation of control loops. In the fourth chapter I propose firmware for the STM32 MCU, which controls the device and communicates with the superior system. In the last chapter the DC/DC converter is tested.

Next part of the thesis compares suitability of available platforms. Practical part of the thesis describes the design and implementation of circuit board, firmware and computer application. The device is using STM32 microcontroller. Firmware was developed in C++ using Arduino. The computer application was created by using C\# and WPF. 3 methods of FSK demodulations were implmented. One is using a FFT algorithm. Other two calculate frequency based on the period of square signal.

Questo elaborato ha l’obiettivo di valutare la fattibilità dell’implementazione in ambito SHM (Structural Health Monitoring) di un sistema di comunicazione wireless, andando a modificare una tecnologia cablata già esistente, sviluppata dal gruppo di ricerca Lab-SHM di ARCES. Viene presentata una overview dei più utilizzati protocolli di trasmissione wireless, dei quali è stato scelto il protocollo Bluetooth Low Energy, per le sue ottime prestazioni e bassi consumi. La tecnologia che implementa questo protocollo è stata scelta dopo l’analisi di dispositivi wireless prodotti da varie aziende. La scelta finale è ricaduta su STMicroelectronics. Tutte le scelte finora affrontate sono supportate da un test di fattibilità volto a valutare le prestazioni e la robustezza di un canale di comunicazione Bluetooth Low Energy con la tecnologia STMicroelectronics. In particolare, per il prototipo è stato scelto come Core l’STM32WB. L’utilizzo di questo MCU di ultima generazione ha permesso di sfruttare alcuni componenti progettati appositamente per esso (come l’MLPF-WB55-01E3, integrato con matching network e filtro passa banda), permettendo di ottimizzare le caratteristiche già in questa prima fase progettuale. Inoltre è stato sviluppato il progetto circuitale del prototipo con l’STM32WB55CG, nel quale è stato configurato il sistema SMPS in modo da avere una gestione ottimizzata dell’alimentazione. E’ stato aggiunto il sistema di oscillazione HSE, e infine il sistema di ricezione e trasmissione a radio-frequenza. Sono state prese in considerazione due possibili soluzioni per il progetto dell’antenna (PCB e Chip Antenna). Per entrambi i casi è stato progettato anche il sistema di adattamento di impedenza della linea tra core ed antenna. A seguito dell’analisi dei vantaggi e svantaggi di entrambe le soluzioni è stato riscontrato che la PCB antenna fornisce prestazioni maggiori a scapito di un tollerabile aumento di area occupata, preferendola pertanto alla Chip Antenna.

Modern medicinering medför att patienter kan behandlas mer effektivt om den tas pårätt sätt. När patienter själva ansvarar för sin medicinering kan den feldoseras ellerglömmas bort, vilket ändrar förutsättningar för dess inverkan. Glömska kombineradmed sinnesnedsättningar försvårar för patienten att sköta sin medicinering.Lösningen på detta problem är idag utökad hemvård där vårdpersonal hjälper patientenatt ta rätt medicin vid rätt tidpunkt. En teknisk lösning kan vara ett inbyggt systemsom påminner patienten, sparar missade doseringar och kan därmed ge mer informationtill läkare som då kan göra mer välgrundade beslut för fortsatt vård.Resultaten visar att en dosettask kan användas för att påminna patienter att ta sinmedicin och skicka missad dosering med närfältskommunikation. Som mikrokontrolleranvändes en STM32 Nucleo, med en tillståndsmaskin som mjukvarulösning. I vidarestudier kan ett realtidsoperativsystem användas. Systemet programmerades medArduinos utvecklingsmiljö, men ett alternativ är IAR. Projektets prototyp kunde medde flesta modulerna uppnå specifikationens batteritid, utöver ljudmodulen som användes.För att komma fram till detta resultat skapades två teoretiska extremfall därprototypen testades.Dosettasken kan leda till minskat pillersvinn och en lägre kostnad då färre hembesökkrävs. Dessutom resulterar detta i ökad självständighet för patienten. Dessa faktorerleder till att dosettasken bidrar till en ökad hållbar utveckling.
Modern medication allows patients to be treated more efficiently if taken properly.When patients themselves are responsible for their medication, it can be wronglydosed or forgotten, which changes the conditions for its effects. Forgetfulness combinedwith impaired senses make it difficult for the patient to take care of his medication.The solution to this problem today is increased home care, where healthcare professionalshelp patients to take the right medication at the right time. A technical solutioncan be an embedded system that reminds the patient, saves missed dosages, and canprovide more information to doctors who can make more informed decisions for furthercare.The results show that a pill dispenser can be used to remind patients to take their medicationand send missed dosages with near field communication. As a microcontroller,a STM32 Nucleo was used, with a state machine as software solution. In further studies,a real-time operating system can be used. The system was programmed with Arduino'sdevelopment environment, but an alternative is IAR. The prototype of the projectcould achieve the specifications battery life with most modules, except to thesound module used. To achieve this result, two theoretical extremes were created inwhich the prototype was tested.The pill dispenser can lead to reduced waste of pills and a lower cost, as fewer homevisits are required. In addition, this results in increased independence for the patient.These factors cause the pill dispenser to contribute to increased sustainable development.

Il lavoro svolto in questa tesi fa parte di un progetto volto alla realizzazione di un sistema per svolgere test di guida di motoveicoli al banco a rulli, gestendo l’intera prova in remoto, ossia dall’esterno della cella. Tale sistema, denominato RideIT, è stato progettato da Alma Automotive per conto della nota casa motociclistica MV Augusta. Tramite il sistema RideIT, è possibile automatizzare la guida di motoveicoli sul banco a rulli, riproducendo via software, tramite un modello che governa degli attuatori, il comportamento del pilota per quel che riguarda gli azionamenti di acceleratore, frizione, cambio e freno durante un test. I vantaggi di questa soluzione riguardano soprattutto la sicurezza degli addetti, che possono effettuare tutte le prove del caso rimanendo al di fuori della sala prove, oltre alla possibilità di incrementare la ripetibilità e la riproducibilità dei risultati dei test, grazie all’eliminazione del fattore di soggettività legato al guidatore. Il sistema nasce con la specifica di poter eseguire test di omologazione al banco a rulli anche se, grazie alla flessibilità che è in grado di garantire, può essere perfettamente riconfigurato, anche in vista di futuri sviluppi del progetto.

GPS module is for measuring speed and height above MSL. All measured values can be recorded on SD card for future analysis on PC.

This diploma thesis deals with the design and construction of a three-axis CNC machine primarily designed for PCB drilling and production of front panels for various electronic devices. All three axes are driven by stepper motors NEMA 23 which are connected to stepper motor drivers L6470. Processor STM32F407 is used to control the whole machine. The wiring is completed by a LCD display with touchscreen which is used to communicate with user. Data for drilling can be entering manually or via USB inerface. Part of this thesis is the selection of a suitable construction and components, assembling equipment, wiring design of electronic circuits and writing the code to control the machine. Finally, the parameters of the designed device have been measured.
