Victorian Ghosts 1852-1907 is a collection of Victorian Ghost Stories collated and annotated by scholars at York University enrolled in the fourth-year Victorian Ghosts course offered through the department of English during Fall 2020. Starting with Elizabeth Gaskell’s “The Old Nurse’s Story” (1852)—a staple of many Victorian Ghost Story Anthologies—and ending with Ambrose Bierce’s “The Moonlit Road” (1907), this collection includes 21 ghost stories spanning six decades.
