Diop, Aminata. "Genre, migration, stratégies d'acquisition de pouvoir et espace personnel : les expériences de femmes ouest-africaines à Rouen." Thesis, Normandie, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018NORMR144.
Full textThis dissertation addresses the experiences of West African women in Rouen hailing fromseveral countries of the sub-region (Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeriaand Senegal). It is aimed at facilitating a better understanding of their lives, their histories, their conditions of immigration and integration in the host society. It seeks to deconstruct thehistorical stereotypes regarding female migrants that have long been viewed as victims ofviolated rights. This dissertation casts light on the situations of multiple and crossed oppressions (gender, ethnicity, class) endured by these women in time and space, based on a series of concrete experiences. The migratory context enables them to modify and reorganize the social gender relations and select cultural practices of their native communities. This research seeks to analyze the process of West African women’s empowerment and emancipation from their power acquisition strategies (work, associations, professional networks, technology, and transports). Against the backdrop of globalization, female migrants position themselves as key stakeholders of economic development and social change in their continent. The option for a qualitative method, and a protracted observation of women’s daily life and their interactions with men required an immersion in their personal space

Full textThe main difficulty of autonomous navigation of a mobile robot in a partially comes from the lack of information about the environment. One can not assure the calculated navigation path is as short and as safe as the path calculated if we had all the necessary information on the environment. Information is gathered along the moves of the mobile robot with a varying degree of certainty. This uncertainty come from the environment itself, the perception abilities and the localisation abilities of the robot. Only relevant information acquisitions can help a good execution of the navigation task. The proposed approach is realised in this context : it consists of a navigation strategy based on the determination of zones where information is necessary for the robot to rally its objective

Full textThe aim of this thesis is to indicate the importance of the place and the role of the State in the development policies. Through this thesis, we want to show why Burkina Faso which is considered as one of the best models of both the World Bank and the International Monetary fund by the specialists, still remains one of the least developed countries in the word. The development strategies implemented since the remaking of the colonial state in 1947, aim at controlling poverty and to make up the other colonies in the economic and social matters. Since 1947, various statesmen have implemented many development strategies in order to improve the living conditions of the populations. Their actions have contributed to create deep changes in the present time "Land of upright people". The political, economic and social evolutions can be chronologically observed in three periods through the political ups and downs and the democratic and development issues. In the first part of the thesis (1947-1957) we analyse a ten-year period of "development" particular to that time. The second part (1958-1983), deals with the socio-economic aspects of the development policy after the colonial era. The sudden taking of power of young revolutionary militaries led to the changing of the country's name from Upper Volta to Burkina Faso in August 1984. After the revolutionary period led by Sankara, the defection from the revolution following the murder of its chairman, opened a period called ''rectification'' which really was the beginning of liberal policy leading to multipartism and to structural adjustment programmes as new strategies for a better development. The last part (1983-1997) deals with all these changes in the living of the populations

Full textThe Southern Ocean is a fragile ecosystem whose dynamics are influenced by climate change that will structure the spatio-temporal distribution of resources. The objective of this PhD was to investigate the foraging strategies used by the southern elephant seal, under energetic (cost of transport and costs of access to the resource) and temporal (time at the bottom of a dive and aerobic dive limit) constraints. Using a set of animal-borne data loggers allowed us to reconstruct their three-dimensional path underwater, but also to calculate their swimming effort, the number of prey encountered and their energy expenditure. At the dive level, our study shows that elephant seals adapt their path, but also the time spent at the bottom, depending on the number of prey encountered. For high local prey density, they spent more time at the bottom, and concentrated their foraging effort in areas restricted search, characterized by a decrease in speed and an increase in horizontal sinuosity. Beyond 550 m, the cost of access to resources becomes greater than the cost of acquisition ; they must therefore deal with a trade-off between prey accessibility and availability. While feeding, these seals increase their buoyancy, reducing furthermore their energy expenditure. This study also shows a spatio-temporal structure of the energy expenditure that appears to be related to feeding success and therefore to prey resources distribution
