The stock market represents complex systems where multiple agents interact. The complexity of the environment in the financial markets in general has encouraged the use of modeling by multi-agent platforms and particularly in the case of the stock market. In this paper, an agent-based simulation model is proposed to study the behavior of the volume of market transactions. The model is based on the case of a single asset and three types of investor agents. Each investor can be a zero intelligent trader, fundamentalist trader or traders using historical information in the decision making process.

Abstract The goal of logical controller synthesis is to automatically compute a control strategy that regulates the discrete, event-driven behavior of a given plant s.t. a temporal logic specification holds over all remaining traces. Standard approaches to this problem construct a two-player game by composing a given complete plant model and the logical specification and applying standard algorithmic techniques to extract a control strategy. However, due to the often enormous state space of a complete plant model, this process can become computationally infeasible. In this paper, we introduce

An alternative view, that we have promoted as being conceptually superior, is strategy-centric: assumptions are non-empty sets of environment strategies. Abstract:
The applied social sciences have witnessed a growing use of sensitive survey techniques (SSTs) to study the relationship between facets of an individuals background and his propensity to engage in sensitive behavior. Abstract:
High honeybee colony losses in the last decade have raised the scientific efforts to determine and mitigate the causes of declining honeybee health. Although honeybees are exposed to a variety of stressors, infestation by the ectoparasitic mite (Varroa destructor) and the viruses it vectors are considered to be the most significant biological problem of A. mellifera worldwide. Management of viral diseases is problematic and mainly focuses on control of Varroa. Current Varroa control suffers from the evolution mite resistance, negative effects on bees and bee products, and other inefficiencies

Abstract:
The article provides unique quantitative insights about highly secretive and poorly understood speculation in the oil market. To demystify the behavior of speculators, we look at the problem from five different angles. First, we explain how the presence of large over-the-counter (OTC) oil derivatives market leads to mischaracterization of traditional hedgers and speculators. We then explain what makes oil speculation special and different from speculation across many other commodities. Consequently, we identify the winners and the losers in the oil futures market.
