Since its birth twenty-two years ago, the Department of Educational Administration at Texas A&M University has achieved considerable recognition for the strength and diversity of its various program offerings. That strength, developed originally from the diverse attainments of its separate faculty members, has built in recent years upon common programmatic efforts that enable separate faculty strengths to be used in a complementary manner for support of the departmental mission.

Abstract:
The operating model of health and safety protection in the workplace is a complex system made up of multiple integrated layers of intervention, achieved by various parties, organizations and institutions. The objective in this study was to verify the congruity and appropriateness of these specific interventions in the Genoa area, starting from a sample of reports of musculoskeletal diseases pursuant to Art. 139 TU 1124/1965 and to Art. 365 CP received in ASL3 between years 2004 and 2014. In order to process the dossiers related to the sample, all the documentation about the companies and the workers concerned was collected and analyzed to extrapolate data relevant for evaluation of the quality of the DVR, the appropriateness and effectiveness of health surveillance and coherency of the data collected in the different computerized archives/ records containing informations for the examination of cases of occupational disease. The results show how much work remains to be done culturally in order to acquire adequate sensibleness on prevention, the poor quality of the DVR, the weakness of health surveillance intended solely as preventive and periodic examination and the inhomogeneities of information from territory to institutions and of data processing in the different databases used by local health authorities and INAIL. All this in a scenario in which the phenomenon of under-notification significantly limits the potential of information flows.

Abstract:
The existing comparative literature focuses on political institutions to explain party unity in parliament, and largely ignores the role of party characteristics in this process. This study argues that the strength of political party organization directly and independently influences the level of party unity. Organizational strength makes the party a valuable asset to individual legislators, thus increasing their willingness to be disciplined. Therefore, parties with strong organizations are likely to be more unified in parliament than those with weak organizations. I find support for this argument with data from four post-communist democracies: the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, and Poland. Narratives suggest that the proposed causal mechanism is plausible.

Abstract:
Changes in mRNA translation and degradation represent post-transcriptional processes operating during gametogenesis and early embryogenesis to ensure regulated protein synthesis. Numerous mRNA-binding proteins (RBPs) have been described in multiple animal models that contribute to the control of mRNA translation and decay during oogenesis and spermatogenesis. An emerging view from studies performed in germ cells and somatic cells is that RBPs associate with their target mRNAs in RNA–protein (or ribonucleoprotein) complexes (mRNPs) that assemble in various cytoplasmic RNA granules that communicate with the translation machinery and control mRNA storage, triage, and degradation. In comparison withXenopus, Caenorhabditis elegans, orDrosophila, the composition and role of cytoplasmic RNA-containing granules in mammalian germ cells are still poorly understood. However, regained interest for these structures has emerged with the recent discovery of their role in small RNA synthesis and transposon silencing through DNA methylation. In this review, we will briefly summarize our current knowledge on cytoplasmic RNA granules in murine germ cells and describe the role of some of the RBPs they contain in regulating mRNA metabolism and small RNA processing during gametogenesis.

Abstract:
There are many distinct faiths, castes, dialects, and ways of life in India. However, there is always a sense of oneness in the midst of our differences. The same spirit of togetherness that led to our freedom is essential to our nation's continued growth and well-being. We can only grow into great nations if there is peace. People of various classes, sects, and religions have coexisted peacefully in India for centuries. To make matters worse, they've been cohabiting for decades. This clearly demonstrates the Indian people's extraordinary tolerance and cohesion. The country is a fantastic example of the concept of unity in diversity. The world's oldest civilization is found in India. We have been ruled by a variety of people from different religions and cultures over the course of 5000 years. In addition, a large number of individuals immigrated to India, which welcomed them with open arms. This interaction has allowed us to see a wide range of religious, cultural, racial, and religious diversity in our country. But despite the country's many differences, the Indian people persevered through the darkest hours and dealt with every crisis with a united spirit. "Unity among difference" is the thread that links all Indians together. There are a number of different sorts of diversity in India, as well as a wide range of definitions of "diversity," which we'll cover below. In India, there are a variety of civilizations, religions, languages, and customs that may be traced from Jammu to Kanyakumari. However, India's concept of unity in variety is characterized by people coming together in love and harmony, despite their differences.

Abstract:
Active-layer detachment slides are locally common on Fosheim Peninsula, Ellesmere Island, where permafrost is continuous, the active layer is 0.5-0.75 m thick, and summer temperatures are unusually high in comparison with much of the Canadian High Arctic. In this paper we report pore-water pressures at the base of the active layer, recorded in situ on two slopes in late July and early August 1995. These data form the basis for slope stability analyses based on effective stress conditions. During fieldwork, the factor of safety within an old detachment slide on a slope at Hot Weather Creek was slightly greater than unity. At "Big Slide Creek," on a slope showing no evidence of earlier detachment failures, the factor of safety was less than unity on a steep basal slope section but greater than unity elsewhere. In the upper slope, pore-water pressures were only just subcritical. Sensitivity analyses demonstrate that the stability of the shallow active layer is strongly influenced by changes in soil shear strength. Possible mechanisms for reduction in shear strength through time include weathering of soils and gradual increases in basal active layer ice content. However, we suggest here that soil shearing during annual gelifluction movements is most likely to progressively reduce shear strengths at the base of the active layer from peak values to close to residual, facilitating the triggering of active-layer detachment failures.Key words: detachment slides, Ellesmere Island, pore-water pressures, gelifluction.

Abstract In 1979 Margaret Thatcher came to power in the United Kingdom inaugurating the rise of neoliberalism. In the pages of Marxism Today an intense debate took place about the strategy of the Labour Party to defeat Thatcher and Thatcherism. The author aims to show how the famous communist historian Eric Hobsbawm appealed to his own memories of the French Popular Front and the antifascist movement to give ideological content to the fight against Thatcherism on two points. First, Thatcherism as a new international threat similar to fascism in the 1930s. Second, by appealing emotionally to his own experiences during the 1930s in order to show readers how antifascism could work to unite the diverse progressive forces ranged against Thatcher. By doing so, Hobsbawm and the contributors to Marxism Today would reshape antifascism based on two ideals: the unity of the majority, in particular, the unity of the working class, against the forces of reaction. Second, the strength of unity to articulate policies for the emancipation of the working class.

Abstract:
National unity is vital for a nation's strength and stability, with strategic significance across social, political, and economic domains. A thorough understanding of national unity is essential for promoting peace, security, and prosperity, while strengthening social cohesion and preserving national identity. There are numerous factors that either contribute or influence the realm of national unity while enabling policymakers to leverage it effectively. The complexity of maintaining national unity hugely demands intentional efforts to promote inclusivity, equity and people's mindset to work together for the common good. A country should formulate policies that foster a shared identity and ensure equal opportunities for all if it aims to create a more promising and prosperous future for its citizens. Therefore, the strategic imperative of national unity remains not just as a desirable goal but a crucial necessity for thesocial, political, and economic stability of any nation.

The situation of persons in need of international protection often leads to separation of their families for various reasons. The issue of unity of the family of persons in need of international protection was also considered by the European Court of Human Rights. This paper analyzes the inconsistency and unequal approach of the ECtHR in this matter. The paper analyzes how the most important international treaties regulate the right to family unity. Through selected cases in which the ECtHR ruled on the reunification of parents and children and their right to family unity, it will be seen how the ECtHR has inconsistently applied the principle of the best interest of the child. The analysis will point to a non-unified approach of the ECtHR to factors such as the child’s age, strength of the relationship with the country of origin and the receiving country, the strength of family ties between parents and children, when making decisions about family reunification.

Abstract:
Independent derivations are given for the failure criteria of the purely dilatational stress state involving voids nucleation failure as well as for the purely distortional stress state involving shear bands failure. The results are consistent with those from a recently derived failure theory and they further substantiate the failure theory. The voids nucleation mechanism is compared with the ideal theoretical strength of isotropic materials as derived by density functional theory and two other atomic-scale methods. It is found that a cross-over occurs from the voids nucleation failure mechanism to the ideal strength limitation as the tensile to compressive strengths ratio, T / C , increases toward a value of unity. All the results are consistent with the failure modes transition results from the general failure theory.

In the journey of life, especially in the world of higher education, students are faced with various challenges that not only test their intellectual abilities, but also their personalities. Among the values that are essential to forming individual character, unity is an element that is often overlooked, but has a profound impact on the formation of character and self-confidence for college students. Unity is not just a figment of the imagination, but an important foundation in living life with full strength and emotional balance. National unity is a solid foundation for the younger generation to achieve a bright future. In the era of globalization that is full of dynamics, unity becomes increasingly crucial. Without unity, various challenges such as division, radicalism, and instability will threaten the sustainability of the nation. The younger generation as agents of change has a central role in maintaining and strengthening unity. By uniting, the younger generation can create strong synergy to overcome various problems and advance the nation.

Abstract:
Settled on the foundations laid by zoologists and embryologists more than a century ago, the study of symbiosis between prokaryotes and eukaryotes is an expanding field. In this review, we present several models of insect–bacteria symbioses that allow for the detangling of most known features of this distinctive way of living, using a combination of very diverse screening approaches, including molecular, microscopic, and genomic techniques. With the increasing the amount of endosymbiotic bacteria genomes available, it has been possible to develop evolutionary models explaining the changes undergone by these bacteria in their adaptation to the intracellular host environment. The establishment of a given symbiotic system can be a root cause of substantial changes in the partners’ way of life. Furthermore, symbiont replacement and/or the establishment of bacterial consortia are two ways in which the host can exploit its interaction with environmental bacteria for endosymbiotic reinvigoration. The detailed study of diverse and complex symbiotic systems has revealed a great variety of possible final genomic products, frequently below the limit considered compatible with cellular life, and sometimes with unanticipated genomic and population characteristics, raising new questions that need to be addressed in the near future through a wider exploration of new models and empirical observations.

Objective The aim of Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) redesign project (QEII United) was to enhance timely access to an inpatient bed and maximise opportunities to value add during the inpatient episode of care. Methods A tripartite relationship between the hospital team, system manager and external consultants. The team, QEII United, was formed to ‘diagnose, solve and implement’ change under the unifying metaphorical banner of a football team. A marketing strategy and communication plan targeted the key ‘players’ and outlined the ‘game plan’. Baseline data were collected, analysed and reported in keeping with key aims. Strategies for systems improvement implementation were attached to key performance indicators (KPIs). Results Thematic KPIs were developed to embed internal process change to reflect the contributions made towards the National Emergency Access Target (NEAT) at each stage of the patient journey. As such, access block of under 20%, morning discharge rates of 50% before midday, reduced length of stay for selected elective orthopaedic and general medical diagnostic related groupings (DRGs; i.e. relative stay index ≤1) and hospital in the home (HITH) utilisation rates 1.5% of all admissions were all met. Key to sustainability was the transfer of clinical redesign skills to hospital staff and the fostering of emergent ground up leadership. Conclusions QEII United’s success has been underpinned by the development of themed solution areas developed by the hospital staff themselves. Robust baseline data analysis used in combination with nationally available benchmarking data provided a quantitative starting point for the work. The collaborative elements of the program re-energised the hospital team, who were kept informed by targeted communications, to establish quick wins and build trust and momentum for the more challenging areas. What is known about the topic? Clinical redesign is now commonly used to understand, define and improve those clinical processes that underpin the patient journey across the continuum of care. Different industry models exist and have been extended for use in healthcare settings to involve, engage and educate staff with the primary focus of providing the best possible patient care, in an effective and efficient manner. What does this paper add? The clinical redesign process outlined in this paper is instructive in its use of the metaphorical team. Team philosophy, composition and functionality was built up using the vernacular of a football competition. In this way, organisational learning and capability building occurred within empowered local action teams, across the ‘season’ to effect changes at all points of the patient journey. What are the implications for practitioners? The implications for practitioners are to fully understand the breadth of issues before deciding upon focus areas for improvement. Resistance to change is inevitable and there are a number of ways to mitigate this and create a sense of purpose within the broader clinical group by structuring teams across traditional reporting lines. Collaboration is crucial in keeping lines of communication open and the use of data and patient feedback is very instructive.
