Abstract:
The experimental spectrum of excited S-wave vector mesons with hidden quark flavor reveals a remarkable property: For all flavors, it is approximately linear in mass squared, [Formula: see text], n is the radial quantum number. We draw attention to the fact that such a universal behavior for any quark mass cannot be obtained in a natural way within the usual semirelativistic potential and string-like models — if the Regge-like behavior is reproduced for the mesons composed of the light quarks, the trajectories become essentially nonlinear for the heavy-quark sector. In reality, however, the li

The relativistic model describing orbital excitations of hadrons composed of light quarks is considered. All the hadrons are treated in a uniform way as the states of a straight-line string with spinors at its ends. There are a quark and antiquark at the ends in the case of mesons, and a quark and diquark for baryons. The model has an additional symmetry, which allows one to describe the exact LS degeneracy. Although the model proposed is essentially relativistic, the states of its spectrum are classified as in nonrelativistic potential models. The spectrum consists of the family of trajectori

We propose a novel approach to construction of hadron spectroscopy. The case of light nonstrange mesons is considered. By assumption, all such mesons above 1 GeV appear due to creation of constituent quark-antiquark pairs inside π or ρ(ω) mesons. These spin-singlet or triplet pairs dictate the quantum numbers of formed resonance. The resulting classification of light mesons turns out to be in a better agreement with the experimental observations than the standard quark model classification. It is argued that the total energy of quark components should be proportional to the hadron mass squared

Abstract:
An approach to quantizing discrete gauge models resembling bosonic strings in the Hamiltonian formulation is described. The case of three particles endowed with chiral structure and incorporating the symmetry T1 ⊗ Sl (2, R)_ ⊗ Sl (2, R)_ is analyzed both in the path-integral and operator formulations. The propagator, spectrum, vacuum state and Regge trajectories are determined. The Regge trajectories are linearly rising and the spectrum is similar to one for discretized bosonic strings in space–time dimensions D ≥ 4. Abstract:
The role of spin degrees of freedom in high-energy hadron-hadron and lepton-hadron scattering is reviewed with emphasis on the dominant role of soft, diffractive, non-perturbative effects. Explicit models based on analyticity and Regge-pole theory, including the pomeron trajectory (gluon exchange in the t channel) are discussed. We argue that there is a single, universal pomeron in Nature, manifest as relatively “soft” or “hard”, depending on the kinematics considered. Both the pomeron and the non-leading (secondary) Regge trajectories, made of quarks are non-linear, complex functions. They ar

We consider string meson and string baryon models in the framework of the modified measure theory, the theory that does not use the determinant of the metric to construct the invariant volume element. As the outcome of this theory, the string tension is not placed ad hoc but is derived. When the charges are presented, the tension undergoes alterations. In the string meson model there are one string and two opposite charges at the endpoints. In the string baryon model, there are two strings, two pairs of opposite charges at the endpoints and one additional charge at the intersection point, the

The AdS/QCD models are known to be closely related to the QCD sum rules in the large-Nc (called also planar) limit. Rewriting the theory of infinite tower of free stable mesons expected in the large-Nc QCD as a five-dimensional theory, we scrutinize to what extend the bottom-up holographic models may be viewed as an alternative language expressing the phenomenology of planar QCD sum rules. It is found that many features of AdS/QCD models can be thereby obtained without invoking prescriptions from the original AdS/CFT correspondence. Under some assumptions, all possibilities leading to simple R
