The paper analyzes the evolution of the thermoenergetic statuses of vertebrates and the associated evolutionary development of their heart. The analysis shows that in most modern lepidosaurs and turtles, the heart is not completely, conditionally five-chambered: it has two atria and one ventricle, in which two incomplete septas divide it into three functional chambers. In some of them, these two septas were modified in evolution so that they turned into one with vertical and horizontal elements, as a result of which the heart became functionally four-chambered, with improved separation of arte

The development of heart valve stenosis and sclerosis can lead to the development of fatal complications such as congestive heart failure. Therefore, severe valve stenosis requires a surgical operation with artificial heart valve replacement. Given that the geometrical differences between artificial valves would significantly influence hemodynamic performance around the implanted valve, additional knowledge for the interactions between blood flow and the artificial valve is necessary. Therefore, in order to proceed, this study proposes an advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation

Price dispersion is a prevalent feature even of markets where, arguably, homogeneous good are traded. At the heart of the causes of price dispersion lie the firms' strategic interactions with their customers and rivals. Consumers' eagerness and ability to search for lower prices tends to reduce dispersion because it enhances competition. Firms inability to sustain tacit collusion, on the other hand, increases price dispersion. Wholesale costs shock can impact both. Abstract:
This report introduces the first release of CORPS-STIF (Concrete Observations Repository and Predictive Software – Structural and Thermodynamical Integrated Framework). CORPS-STIF is envisioned to be used as a tool to optimize material constituents and geometries of mass concrete placements specifically for ultra-high performance concretes (UHPCs). An observations repository (OR) containing results of 649 mechanical property tests and 10 thermodynamical tests were recorded to be used as inputs for current and future releases. A thermodynamical integrated framework (TIF) was developed where the

Abstract:
This study presents a detailed description of the technologies and processes for obtaining biochar and its formation from the fundamental structures of aromatic groups. These aromatic groups come from biomass pyrolysis; therefore, this document explores the complex relationship between biochar structural characteristics and the reactions involved in its formation during the pyrolysis process, specifically: analysis of the generation of a cross-linked network, structural features, and the impact of free radicals on biochar formation. This study will culminate with an analysis of microwave absor
