Abstract:
Sport has a multitude of organizations, which are social systems organized for the attainment of particular types of goals. Organizations are characterized by divisions of labor, power, and communication responsibilities through which regularities such as task allocation, supervision, and coordination are developed. Such regularities constitute the organization’s structure, which is described here in terms of formal relations and communication.

Abstract:
A strong research tradition on the economic and social impacts of microfinance intervention has been going on. But a dearth of studies on microfinance organizational and management perspectives is there, although the social and economic impacts of this development program largely depend on its organizational setup and intervention management. ICT (decipher!!!) has been used in microfinance organizations for quite a long period of time. This study looks into the ICT-mediated material and social changes that happen in this unique type of organization and its management. The study was conducted using exploratory case study in two organizations. A number of semi-structured interviews and focus groups have been conducted at different layers of the organizations. The study found that ICT has profound implications for change in different material and social aspects of microfinance organizations. As a catalyst, ICT causes organizational structure shrank both horizontally and vertically. Because of the use of ICT a loss-of-middle phenomenon emerges in organizational structure and a tendency of centralized decision authority prevails. It helps boosting up the operational performance and transparency and lowering the long-debated interest rate of microfinance. It engenders profound changes in human resources and socio-cultural aspects of microfinance organizations. However, if protective mechanism is not adopted then the use of ICT may have detrimental effects to the social performance of microfinance. This study contributes to the knowledge domain of ICT-mediated organizational change and the microfinance policy makers by exploring the implications of ICT to different organizational aspects. It contributes by unearthing the detrimental effect of ICT to the development outcome of microfinance intervention.

Abstract:
The Organizational Information Processing Theory (OIPT) was used as a tool to analyze the collected data. It was found that, when Information Processing Requirements (IPR) outweigh Information Processing Capacities (IPC), information overload can be the result. Organizational structure should be chosen to enable successful task execution, if that is the case information overload is unlikely to occur. Structural elements that were found to especially increase IPC and therefore reduce the likelihood of information overload are: clarity, transparency and adherence to definitions of job responsibilities or roles.

Abstract:
Changes in the global marketplace have led to an increased emphasis on high quality customer service. Highly committed and satisfied employees are integral to developing a loyal and consistent customer base. Principles of organizational communication and trust, the learning and teaching organization, and the Baldrige assessment are integrated into an organizational structure that is Built to Serve all customers, both internally and externally. The literature review aims to enhance the current literature by connecting the interrelated concepts of organizational change, customer service, learning, teaching, communication, trust, and assessment. This qualitative study examined an organization, NetWork, to determine its readiness level to become an organization that is Built to Serve all of its customers. NetWork is a governmental agency that manages employment issues in a county in California. The NetWork customers were categorized into six groups; unemployed job seekers, low income job seekers, employers, youth, service providers/trainers, and staff members. Eighteen focus groups were conducted to ascertain the perceptions and attitudes each customer group had ofNetWork and of relevant employment issues as well as to ascertain the relationship between the customer groups. An interview guide was developed for each of the customer groups to guide the discussions. The total sample size was 166 focus groups participants. The focus group transcripts were analyzed to determine strengths and weaknesses of the current organizational structure as well as to generate strategic development suggestions for the organization to become one that is Built to Serve all customers. The results from the analysis of the transcripts indicated several limitations in the current organizational structure as well as multiple incongruent perceptions that exist between the customer groups. Twelve research questions are examined and evidence is introduced to answer each question. The results are then interpreted in the discussion section. Recommendations for NetWork to become an organization that is Built to Serve are suggested.

Abstract:
There is a growing awareness that information technology plays a critical role in helping determine organizational structure. Unfortunately, that role has not been adequately defined. This study provides a foundation for an increase in our understanding of the relationship between information technology and organizational structure by defining a new set of information technology variables and identifying differences in organizational structure based on these new variables.

Abstract:
In this research, we aim to understand the organizational structures adopted by software-producing organizations for managing IT technical teams in a continuous delivery context. Following Grounded Theory guidelines, we interviewed 46 IT professionals to investigate how organizations pursuing continuous delivery organize their development and operations teams. Among our results, we discovered four organizational structures: (1) siloed departments, (2) classical DevOps, (3) cross-functional teams, and (4) platform teams. After having discovered such structures and their properties, we describe, in this paper, our plans to better understand which contextual properties and forces lead an organization to adopt an organizational structure to the detriment of the other ones.
