Abstract:
This study assessed the Stryd running power meter validity at sub-maximal speeds (8 to 19 km/h). Six recreational runners performed an incremental indoor running test. Power output (PO), ground contact time (GCT) and leg spring stiffness (LSS) were compared to reference measures recorded by portable metabolic analyser, force platforms and motion capture system. A Bayesian framework was conducted for systems validity and comparisons. We observed strong and positive linear relationships between Stryd PO and oxygen consumption ( R 2 = 0.82 , B F 10 > 100 ), and between Stryd PO and external mechanical power ( R 2 = 0.88 , B F 10 > 100 ). Stryd power meter underestimated PO ( B F 10 > 100 ) whereas GCT and LSS values did not show any significant differences with the reference measures ( B F 10 = 0.008 , B F 10 = 0.007 , respectively). We conclude that the Stryd power meter provides valid measures of GCT and LSS but underestimates the absolute values of PO.

Abstract:
AbstractFootpod monitors are wearable devices attaching to the shoe with the ability to sense oscillations in leg movement; however, few studies provide reliability. The purpose was to provide reliability data for outdoor tasks as measured by the Stryd Power Meter, which is a footpod monitor. Young healthy individuals (N=20, male n=12, female n=8) completed two 5-min self-paced walks along a trail, and two 5-min trail runs. Reliability of the tasks was determined using Coefficient of Variation (CV), Intraclass Correlation (ICC), and 95% confidence intervals (CI). Measures during trail running that returned a CV less than 10%, met the ICC threshold of 0.70, and displayed good to excellent 95% CI included pace, average elapsed power, average elapsed form power, average elapsed leg spring, and vertical oscillation. The only variable during walking to meet these criteria was maximal power (CV=4.02%, ICC=0.968, CI=0.902, 0.989). Running tasks completed on a trail generally return more consistent measures for variables that can be obtained from the Stryd footpod device than walking tasks.

Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to assess how the modification of biomechanical parameters influences the performance of elite triathletes. Four elite international triathletes participated in this study. The anthropometric method ISAK was used to estimate the triathlete’s body composition. For the physiological and biomechanical parameters, a running test (RT) was performed on an outdoor track, with the participants wearing the Stryd Summit Footpod (Stryd, Boulder, CO, USA). The pre-test took place in the last week of an adaptation mesocycle; then, after 29 weeks of training, the triathletes performed the post-test. A within-subject repeated measures design was used to assess changes in the anthropometric, physiological and biomechanical parameters. Pearson correlations (r) were applied to determine the relationship between the performance at different intensities (VT1, VT2 and MAS) and the biomechanical parameters. Concerning the anthropometric characteristics, significant differences were found in the summation (Σ) of skinfold (8.1 cm); as a consequence, the % fat mass was reduced (1.2%). Significant differences were found in the physiological values (VO2 and % VO2max), speed and biomechanical parameters, such as step length normalized, to the specific physiological intensity of the short-distance triathlon, the VT2. Therefore, performance improvement in the running segment could not only be explained by physiological changes, but also by biomechanical parameters changes.

AbstractThis study aimed to examine how the power output changes while running at a continuous comfortable velocity on a motorized treadmill by comparing running power averaged during different time intervals. Forty-nine endurance runners performed a running protocol on a treadmill at self-selected comfortable velocity. Power output (W) was estimated with the Stryd™ power meter, and it was examined over six recording intervals within the 3-min recording period: 0–10 s, 0–20 s, 0–30 s, 0–60 s, 0–120 s and 0–180 s. The ANOVAs showed no significant differences in the magnitude of the power output between the recording intervals (p=0.276, F=1.614, partial Eta 2 =0.155). An almost perfect association was also observed in the magnitude of the power output between the recording intervals (ICC≥0.999). Bland-Altman plots revealed no heteroscedasticity of error for the power output in any of the between-intervals comparisons (r 2<0.1), although longer recording intervals yield smaller systematic bias, random errors, and narrower limits of agreement for power output. The results show that power data during running, as measured through the Stryd™ system, is a stable metric with negligible differences, in practical terms, between shorter (i. e., 10, 20, 30, 60 or 120 s) and longer recording intervals (i. e., 180 s).

Abstract:
The recent popularity of trail running and the use of portable sensors capable of measuring many performance results have led to the growth of new fields in sports science experimentation. Trail running is a challenging sport; it usually involves running uphill, which is physically demanding and therefore requires adaptation to the running style. The main objectives of this study were initially to use three “low-cost” sensors. These low-cost sensors can be acquired by most sports practitioners or trainers. In the second step, measurements were taken in ecological conditions orderly to expose the runners to a real trail course. Furthermore, to combine the collected data to analyze the most efficient running techniques according to the typology of the terrain were taken, as well on the whole trail circuit of less than 10 km. The three sensors used were (i) a Stryd sensor (Stryd Inc., Boulder, CO, USA) based on an inertial measurement unit (IMU), 6 axes (3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer) fixed on the top of the runner’s shoe, (ii) a Global Positioning System (GPS) watch and (iii) a heart belt. Twenty-eight trail runners (25 men, 3 women: average age 36 ± 8 years; height: 175.4 ± 7.2 cm; weight: 68.7 ± 8.7 kg) of different levels completed in a single race over a 8.5 km course with 490 m of positive elevation gain. This was performed with different types of terrain uphill (UH), downhill (DH), and road sections (R) at their competitive race pace. On these sections of the course, cadence (SF), step length (SL), ground contact time (GCT), flight time (FT), vertical oscillation (VO), leg stiffness (Kleg), and power (P) were measured with the Stryd. Heart rate, speed, ascent, and descent speed were measured by the heart rate belt and the GPS watch. This study showed that on a ≤10 km trail course the criteria for obtaining a better time on the loop, determined in the test, was consistency in the effort. In a high percentage of climbs (>30%), two running techniques stand out: (i) maintaining a high SF and a short SL and (ii) decreasing the SF but increasing the SL. In addition, it has been shown that in steep (>28%) and technical descents, the average SF of the runners was higher. This happened when their SL was shorter in lower steep and technically challenging descents.

Because wearable technology is ubiquitous, it is important to determine validity and reliability not only in a laboratory setting, but applied environments where the general population utilizes the devices. The purpose of this study was to 1) determine intra-rater reliability of visual step count outdoors, 2) determine validity of commercially available wearable technology devices in this setting, and 3) report test-retest reliability of commercial devices during hiking and trail running. Individuals (N = 20) completed 5-min hikes and trail runs on a 200-m section of trail while wearing the following devices: Fitbit Surge 2, Garmin Vivosmart HR+, Leaf Health Tracker, Polar A360, Samsung Gear 2, Spire Activity Tracker, and Stryd Power Meter. Intra-rater reliability and test-retest reliability was determined through Intraclass Correlation (ICC), while validity was determined via Bland-Altman analysis (limits of agreement; LoA), mean average percentage error (MAPE), and ICC. Significance was accepted at thep < .05 level. Steps determined by two independent counters were significantly reliable for the hike (ICC = 0.993, p < 0.001) and trail run (ICC = 0.991,p < 0.001). Three devices were valid across both exercise types and all methods of validity: Garmin Vivosmart HR+ (MAPE = 5.4%, ICC = 0.815, LoA = −58.1 to 50.4), Leaf Health Tracker (MAPE = 8.4%, ICC = 0.816, LoA = −78.8 to 39.4), and Stryd Power Meter (MAPE = 4.7%, ICC = 0.799, LoA = −34.3 to 78.9). As only certain devices returned valid step measurements, continued testing in applied environments are needed to have confidence in utilizing technology to track health and activity goals.

Abstract:
A novel running wearable called the Stryd Summit footpod fastens to a runner’s shoe and estimates running power. The footpod separates power output into two components, Stryd power and form power. The purpose of this study was to measure the correlations between running economy and power and form power at lactate threshold pace. Seventeen well-trained distance runners, 9 male and 8 female, completed a running protocol. Participants ran two four-minute trials: one with a self-selected cadence, and one with a target cadence lowered by 10%. The mean running economy expressed in terms of oxygen cost at self-selected cadence was 201.6 ± 12.8 mL·kg−1·km−1, and at lowered cadence was 204.5 ± 11.5 mL·kg−1·km−1. Ventilation rate and rating of perceived exertion (RPE) were not significantly different between cadence conditions with one-tailed paired t-test analysis (ventilation, p = 0.77, RPE, p = 0.07). Respiratory exchange ratio and caloric unit cost were significantly greater with lower cadence condition (respiratory exchange ratio, p = 0.03, caloric unit cost, p = 0.03). Mean power at self-selected cadence was 4.4 ± 0.5 W·kg−1, and at lowered cadence was 4.4 ± 0.5 W·kg−1. Mean form power at self-selected cadence was 1.1 ± 0.1 W·kg−1, and at lowered cadence was 1.1 ± 0.1 W·kg−1. There were positive, linear correlations between running economy and power (self-selected cadence and lower cadence, r = 0.6; the 90% confidence interval was 0.2 to 0.8); running economy and form power (self-selected cadence and lower cadence r = 0.5; the 90% confidence interval was 0.1 to 0.8). The findings suggest running economy is positively correlated with Stryd’s power and form power measures yet the footpod may not be sufficiently accurate to estimate differences in the running economy of competitive runners.

Abstract:
La presente tesis doctoral estudió el análisis del rendimiento del segmento de carrera a pie en triatlón mediante la potencia y la técnica. Para realizar estos objetivos se plantearon 3 estudios. El objetivo del estudio 1 fue seleccionar la metodología más adecuada para la determinación del rFTPw. Como principal hallazgo de este trabajo se destaca el test 3-minutos – 9-minutos como la mejor opción sin tener en cuenta la distancia o duración de la competición, debido a que el rFTPw varía en función de la duración de cada test. Concluyendo que la velocidad seguiría siendo la principal variable para controlar la carga externa en carrera en triatletas populares. El estudio 2 tuvo como objetivo específico determinar si la potencia en las disciplinas de ciclismo y carrera podía compararse entre sí. El segundo objetivo de este estudio fue comparar los porcentajes de potencia de la MAP a los que se determinaban los umbrales ventilatorios en cada disciplina. Se calificó como correcta la comparación de los datos de potencia entre ambas disciplinas porque se encontraron correlaciones significativas entre los valores de potencia en ciclismo y en carrera. Además, los coeficientes de variación y coeficientes de correlación intraclase apoyaron estos resultados. Sin embargo, en carrera no sería correcto utilizar zonas de entrenamiento estándar como en ciclismo porque los umbrales ventilatorios son determinados a un porcentaje diferente de la MAP en cada disciplina. Encontrando que, en comparación con la potencia en ciclismo, la potencia en carrera es sobreestimada en el VT1, similar en el VT2, e infraestimada en la MAP. Estas conclusiones se pueden aplicar a triatletas de nivel élite internacional con un nivel similar en los segmentos de ciclismo y carrera. Por último, en el estudio 3 se centró la atención en analizar si los parámetros fisiológicos, antropométricos y biomecánicos son modificados en el segmento de carrera a pie en triatletas durante una temporada nivel élite internacional. La mejora del rendimiento en la intensidad fisiológica específica del triatlón de corta distancia, el VT2, no sólo se explica por las mejoras de los parámetros fisiológicos como VO2 y % VO2max. También debido a los parámetros espaciotemporales que fueron modificados como SL normalizada. Sin embargo, parece difícil cambiar otros factores como el stiffness, la oscilación vertical y la cadencia en triatletas de élite, mientras que se siguen encontrando resultados contradictorios para el tiempo de contacto. Además, el “duty factor” es una variable para tener en cuenta en VT1 y VT2, pero no en la máxima intensidad fisiológica, esto podría ser porque desde un cierto nivel de estrés, la frecuencia de zancada aumenta notablemente y la amplitud se aplana. Esta tesis presenta 3 conclusiones: - El Umbral Funcional de Potencia en carrera (rFTPw) varía en función de la duración de cada test. El test 3-minutos – 9-minutos podría ser la mejor opción sin tener en cuenta la distancia o duración de la competición. Por lo tanto, la velocidad seguiría siendo la principal variable para controlar la carga externa en carrera en triatletas populares. - En triatletas élite internacional los valores de potencia mecánica en ciclismo y en carrera pueden ser comparados entre ambas disciplinas, aunque sean medidos por galgas extensiométricas y estimados mediante acelerometría respectivamente. Sin embargo, en carrera no sería correcto utilizar zonas de entrenamiento estándar por potencia como en ciclismo, porque los umbrales ventilatorios son determinados a un porcentaje diferente de la intensidad de la MAP en cada disciplina. - La mejora del rendimiento en la intensidad fisiológica específica del triatlón de corta distancia, el VT2, no sólo puede explicarse por las características fisiológicas como VO2 y % VO2max. También debido a los cambios antropométricos y de los parámetros espaciotemporales que fueron modificados como SL normalizada.

Abstract:
I detta examensarbete har vi jobbat att utveckla ett analogt spel, ett brädspel alltså, med temat av ett interplanetärt krig som spelare har i uppgift att få slut på genom att anta rollerna som diplomater för de olika stridande fraktionerna. Temats huvudpunkt har varit att utveckla och utforska ett spel som har sin rot i krig och våld men som spelas och vinns helt verbalt och icke-våldsamt.  Metodologin vi har använt oss av under arbetets gång har varit iterativa. Prioriterings metoder som MoSCoW metoden har väglett våra designval och i vilken riktning vi har tagit projektets utveckling. För att realisera vår vision har vi tagit till att producera fram en rad olika prototyper i både LoFi och HiFi utförande. Dessa prototyper har sedan testats rejält i en serie olika Kvalitativa Speltester.  Genom alltihop har designprocessen utgått ifrån tematiken och det sammanhängande syftet, feedback från speltester och iterativ utveckling. Hur all design har förhållit sig till designperspektivet Critical Design har varit av yttersta vikt då tematiken vilar på att vi genom vår designprocess utmanar och ställer funderare till spelarna.  Resultatet av arbetet är ett brädspel som inte bara är underhållande att spela, utan som ställer krav på spelarna att tänka utanför lådan, att tänka till nya lösningar på traditionella problem. Ett spel som med hjälp av forskning och robust, iterativ, metodologi har uppnått syftet och realiserat det valda temat. Efter allt var sagt och gjort så kunde vi konstatera att arbetet inte var utan brister. Inte tillräckligt många speltester var en brist. En uppsjö av olika mekaniker som kanske inte fullt nådde sin potential var en annan. Men vi fann även styrkor. Vi har ett uppskattat spel där det finns gott om rum för utveckling i en reviderad utgåva eller t.om större expansioner. Sammantaget så har vi en robust gestaltning som bevis på ett robust arbete kring frågor om hur man kan spela traditionella spel på annorlunda sätt.
In this bachelor thesis we have  developed an analogue game in other words, a board game. With themes of interplanetary war where the player is tasked to put an end to by assuming the role of diplomats for the factions that are involved. The main theme has been to develop and explore a game that is rooted in war and violence but that is played and won through verbal and non-violent means. The methods we have been using during this project have been iterative. The main method have been the MoSCoW method with have been guiding our design choices and in what direction we’ve taken the projects development. To realise our vision we have taken to producing a plethora of prototypes in both LoFi and HiFi versions. These prototypes have then been tested rigorously in a series of Qualitative Playtests.  Throughout it all the design process has been based on the thematics and it’s adjoining purpose, feedback from playtesters and iterative development. How all of the design has adhered to the design perspective of Critical Design has been of utmost importance since the thematics rests on that we, through our design process, challenge and place questions for the players.  The result of this project is a board game that isn’t just entertaining, but also puts pressure on the players to think outside of the box, to think of new solutions to traditional problems.A game that with the help of research and robust, iterative, methodology has achieved its purpose and realised the chosen theme.  After all was said and done we could note that the project was not without flaws. Not enough playtesting was one flaw. A sea of different mechanics that maybe did not live up to their full potential was another. But we also found strengths. We’ve got a game that is appreciated and where there is plenty of room for development in a revised edition or maybe even larger expansions. In conclusion, we have a robust design as evidence for robust work around questions of how we can play traditional games in different ways

Kullborg, Annika & Nilsson, Sandra (2012). Styrd rörelseaktivitet i förskolan. Malmö: Malmö högskola, Lärarutbildningen.Styrd rörelseaktivitet i förskolan är en studie om rörelse i förskolan. Den är baserad på två rörelsestunder vid två olika förskolor. Vi anser att rörelseprogram och rörelseaktiviteter är en viktig och bidragande del för träning av barns motoriska utveckling. De ger barnet en känsla av välbefinnande och är bidragande till att självkänslan stärks. Syftet med studien är att undersöka vad pedagogerna tycker om musikens betydelse för barns rörelseutveckling. Vi vill även veta vad pedagogerna tycker om rörelseprogram i förskolan. Hur förstärker musiken rörelserna och motoriken hos de barn som deltar i två rörelseaktiviteter som vi genomfört med barnen? Dessa aktiviteter genomför vi för att få reda på hur barnen reagerar i samband med rörelser och musik. Undersökningen genomfördes i form av observationer av rörelseprogram i förskolan. Resultatet visar hur musiken förstärker rörelse och motorisk utvecklingen hos barnen. Genom två observationer och fyra intervjuer med olika pedagoger undersökte vi barnens samspel mellan rörelser och musik. Hur fungerar dessa rörelseprogram på förskolorna? Resultatet blev att pedagogerna upplever rörelseprogrammen som ett bra material att använda. Musiken förstärker rörelserna hos barnen genom att de visade glädje när tempot blev högre i rörelseprogrammet. Som vi såg så blev barnen mer aktiva än när tempot var lägre. Musiken uppmanar till rörelse.

Syftet med denna uppsats är, att identifiera de fysiska egenskaper som krävs i strid i bebyggelse, eventuella brister i de nuvarande särskilda kraven kopplat till tjänstens stridsmiljö och uppgifter, föreslå en utveckling av dessa krav samt föreslå ett periodiserat träningsprogram som kan möjliggöra att nå dessa krav för att på ett enkelt sätt fungera som ett stöd till en officer som är ansvarig för den fysiska utvecklingen i en stadsskyttepluton.

Uppsatsen avsåg att undersöka hur ett periodiserat träningsprogram kan se ut genom att identifiera och beskriva de fysiska egenskaper som krävs i strid i bebyggelse. Därigenom erhölls slutsatser som kunde nyttjas för att föreslå ett periodiserat träningsprogram.

Uppsatsens resultat kan sammanfattas på följande sätt: Stadsskyttestriden är intensiv och omväxlande i en föränderlig och ofta oländig miljö och terräng.

Striden kräver en soldat med god kondition och förmåga att tempoväxla. Genom att höja de krav som idag ställs på stadsskyttesoldater och inrikta dem närmare tjänstens verklighet, medför en målinriktad träning, bättre motivation samt ett bättre slutresultat. På detta sätt kan vi få fram fler soldater som orkar göra rätt under striden. Fokus i den befälsledda träningen bör ligga på löpningsträning med och utan utrustning som leder till ökad duglighet att springa snabbt på korta distanser upp till 400 meter med personlig utrustning och vapen.

Uppsatsen baseras på Lars Michalsik & Jens Bangsbo, Aerob och anaerob träning, försvarsmaktens reglemente Militära operationer i urbaniserad terräng samt resultatet av en fokusgrupp.


This paper´s objective was to identify what physical abilities today’s soldiers must have when operating in urban areas and how to reach these physical abilities. The purpose is to make the reader start reflecting about his or her role of being in charge of the conscripts physical training.

Based on a descriptive method I have gathered information through a literature search, reading and described it, then drawing conclusions and referred to the literature. Finally identified the main points of these physical abilities.

My main literary source was Lars Michalsik & Jens Bangsbo, Aerob och anaerob träning and Försvarsmaktens reglemente Militära operationer i urbaniserad terräng. I have also conducted interviews with people with special knowledge and experience in the subject.

Results indicate that the main focus of physical training must be on running short distances up to 400 meters with combat gear and personal weapon, maximal strength in ties and endurance strength in the back and stomach and relative strength in upper body. My conclusions are that by changing today’s requirements for the conscripts can lead towards a better focus in physical training and a better result in the end with soldiers that have the right strength to succeed in FIBUA, Fighting in Built-Up Areas.

Abstract:
Arbetet ger en omfattande bakgrund till vilka problem som måste hanteras i utvecklandet av flerspelarspel som ska spelas över internet. Arbetet fokuserar främst på de problem som uppstår på grund av nätverksfördröjning och jitter. Olika tekniker presenteras för att hantera dessa problem men arbetet fokuserar på tekniken lokal fördröjning. Arbetet utvärderar om det går att anpassa den lokala fördröjningen mot att matcha nuvarande nätverksegenskaper utan att påverka spelarens spelupplevelse negativt. För att utveckla denna hypotes utvecklades ett utvärderingsspel som har använts i en dubbelblind kvantitativ undersökning där spelarens spelupplevelse utvärderades. Resultaten från den undersökning som genomfördes var att dynamisk lokal fördröjning är att föredra då spel spelas över instabila nätverk som påverkas kraftigt av jitter.

Detta är en reflekterande uppsats som behandlar utvecklingen av stridssystemet ”Levande Strid” samt processen att utveckla en animerad film som illustrerar systemet.

Målet med verket har varit att genom animationer skapa en varierad visuell upplevelse i striderna i action- och rollspel.

Uppsatsen inleds med en beskrivning av bakgrunden, syftet och målet med verket. Därefter följer en redovisning av den teoretiska bakgrund som har använts som underlag för utvecklingen av ett stridssystem, skrivandet av ett designdokument  och arbetet med själva animationerna. Efter detta beskrivs hur jag har använt mig av teorin för att skapa system, dokument och animationer. Animationerna har varit fokus och tar således mest plats i uppsatsen.

Resultatet av arbetet har blivit ett system som framhäver variation i stridsmomenten i action- och rollspel, ett designdokument som beskriver detta system på en konceptuell nivå och en film som genom animationer illustrerar och demonstrerar systemet.

Even though battles have been fought in built-up areas for a long time, there have not been any specific theories connected to it. As the world becomes increasingly urbanized, the problem of not having any complete theories with which to analyze military operations in urban terrain becomes bigger. This essay aims to contribute to the field of military theory by investigating if Robert Leonhard’s theory of combined arms can be used in analyzing such operations and to be able to explaining the outcome of them.   The main question posed in this essay is; to what extent can Leonhard’s theory explain the outcome of military operations in urban terrain? The method used to answer this question is a comparative method formed as a case study of two military operations in urban terrain, Operation Vigilant Resolve and Operation Phantom Fury, which both took place in Fallujah during the Iraq war 2004. The intention is to test Leonhard’s theory in both cases by assigning the theory several indicators, which are tested in each case.   The result shows that the indicators appeared almost equally in both cases, even though one of the operations was said to be a success and the other a failure. However during the occasions when the coalition force used combined arms, both operations achieved military effectiveness. The conclusion is that Leonhard’s theory of combined arms cannot be used to explain the outcome of military operations in urban terrain. The theory has not been verified and strengthened by empirical evidence, but weakened, which is the opposite of what should have been the result. Combined arms-theory cannot be used to assimilate lessons learned from military operations in urban terrain.

Stridsvagnsminans utveckling i helhet har under de senaste 20 åren mer eller mindre stått still. I försvarsberedningens slutrapport Värnkraft beskrivs fördröjande fältarbeten med minor som ett av de prioriterade områdena för Försvarsmaktens ingenjörförband. Med denna prioritering finns ett syfte att undersöka hur vidare minor fortsatt kommer att påverka den mekaniserade striden i framtiden.  För att studera minors påverkan på den mekaniserade striden har den här studien använt Totalförsvarets forskningsinstituts simuleringsverktyg Suss-mek. Minvapnet finns sedan tidigare inte implementerat i programmet. Därför undersöks också vilka nyckelegenskaper som bör ingå i simulering med minor i strid.  Resultatet visar att effekten av framtidens minor på den mekaniserade striden kommer i grunden vara densamma som idag. Däremot kommer teknologin för framtidens minor göra att minan i sig kommer att bli effektivare med högre sannolikhet att nedkämpa motståndaren. Studien kommer också fram till flera relevanta nyckelegenskaper, till exempel front, djup, densitet och fasta beteenden vid sammanstötminering. Det är egenskaper som måste tas hänsyn till vid modellering av minor i ett simuleringsverktyg.
The development of the antitank mine has more or less stood still for the past 20 years. In the Defense Committee's final report Värnkraft, counter-mobility operations with landmines is described as one of the priority areas for the Swedish Armed Forces' combat engineer units. With this priority, there is a purpose to investigate how mines will continue to affect the mechanized battle in the future.  To study the impact of antitank mines on the mechanized battle, this study has used the Swedish Defense Research Agency's simulation tool Suss-mek. The mine weapon has not previously been implemented in the program. Therefore, it is also investigated which key characteristics that should be included in simulation with mines in battle.  The results show that the impact of future antitank- mines in mechanized battle will basically be the same as today. On the other hand, the technology of the future mines will make the mine itself more efficient with a higher probability to kill. The study also shows several relevant key characteristics for example: front, depth, density and fixed behaviours during entering minefield. They are characteristics that must be considered when modelling mines in a simulation tool.

Polisen i Sverige har ett relativt högt förtroende bland allmänheten (BRÅ, 2007). Det är av stor vikt att polisen har ett stort förtroende i samhället, för att samarbetet mellan polis och allmänhet skall fungera väl samt att brott skall anmälas (BRÅ, 2007). Men efter händelser som den i Rosengård, december 2008, ligger det nära till hands att fundera över hur samhället ser på polisen. Antagligen påverkas allmänhetens förtroende negativt då enskilda poliser uttalar sig så starkt nedsättande om andra människor som i detta fall. Medias intensiva rapportering gör att få undkommit händelsen i Rosengård.Syftet med följande studie var att beskriva allmänhetens förtroende för polisen samt hur detta kan påverkas av medias rapportering. Vidare avsåg författarna att besvara följande frågeställning; Kan polisen som organisation samt enskilda poliser genom sitt agerande påverka samhällets förtroende för polisen i helhet?Studien genomfördes i form av en litteraturgranskning där relevant litteratur granskats och diskuterats av författarna.Som teoretisk referensram användes Agenda Setting av (Dearing & Rogers, 1992) som beskriver medias påverkan i samhället. Av resultatet framgår att media har dagordningsmakt, då media styr vilken slags information och kunskap nyhetspubliken skall få ta del av (Palm & Skogersson, 2008). Rapportering om en organisations verksamhet, oavsett om rapporteringen är sann eller ej, påverkar allmänhetens förtroende för organisationen (Sandstig, 2008 hänvisar till Palm, 2005). Vidare framgår att enskilda händelser, med enskilda individer, kan påverka förtroendet för en hel organisation i sin helhet. Det är därför viktigt hur organisationen väljer att bemöta enskilda händelser samt hur man kommunicerar sin verksamhet i media (Palm & Skogersson, 2008).

Denne artikkelen gir en framstilling av hva som skjedde omkring striden mellom misjonsbiskop Schreuder og ledelsen i Det Norske Misjonsselskap. Schreuders rolle har blitt karakterisert ved hans personlighet og hans høykirkelighet. Han vakte oppsikt i Kristen-Norge ved sin pamflett om kirke og misjon. Han ble sendt til Sør-Afrika som misjonær, ordinert av en norsk biskop, og utsendt av Misjonsselskapet. Seinere ble han ordinert som misjonsbiskop. Han var selskapets overbestyrer på misjonsmarken og fikk biskoppelig ansvar også for Madagaskar. Artikkelen drøfter Adolf Thunems alternative forståelse av begivenhetene ved studie av arkivmateriale og forskeres framstilling av striden. Styrken i konflikten blir her lagt på personlige motsetninger mellom folk som hadde samme kirkesyn og misjonssyn. Sekretær Christian Dons og Madagaskar-misjonær Lars Dahle (seinere ruvende generalsekretær) blir tillagt en kritisk rolle i striden.
