One of the first nuclear engineering programs in the United States was established at Virginia Tech in the mid-1950’s and continued until the mid-1980’s when it was abandoned due to a drop both in student interest and government support. In 2006, as a result of interest shown by the nuclear industry in Virginia, discussions were undertaken that led to the approval to offer Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in nuclear engineering in 2013. ABSTRACT Background: The incidence of dysmenorrhea is more than 50% among women in every country. In the United States, an average of 60% with the highest prevalence of dysmenorrhea is among adolescent girls, 15% of whom have severe dysmenorrhea. A 30′ × 60′ greenhouse is being installed on the Western Kentucky University Agriculture Department campus farm that will be heated during winter by energy captured during the decomposition of leaves into compost. The bio-generated heat collection and distribution system was designed, and is currently being built and tested by undergraduate mechanical engineering students at WKU. Currently, the WKU Agriculture Department takes all leaves collected by the city of Bowling Green, processing and selling the resulting compost. While the leaves are composting, a temperature of over 150 °F is reached
