Abstract:
The article analyzes the concept of “stylistic competence”, which is defined as the ability to learn the stylistic system of the language at the phonetic, lexical-semantic, phraseological and grammatical levels. The main concepts of stylistics have been clarified. The object and subject of studying stylistics have been characterized. Such sections of stylistics as stylistics of language, stylistics of speech and stylistics of fiction have been studied. The concept of “language style” and “speech style” has been distinguished. The problem of compliance with stylistic norms and features of formation of stylistic abilities and skills has been outlined. The linguistic-didactic system for the formation of students’ stylistic competence has been defined, which includes: approaches to learning (functional-stylistic, which ensures effective work on the representation of the features of the functioning of language units, their implementation in each style; the formation of fluency in speaking skills), learning patterns (patterns of language learning and patterns of speech learning); teaching principles (general didactic and linguistic didactic); groups of exercises (according to the content of the main material, according to the method of execution) and specific methods (observation of stylistic functions of language units, stylistic experiment; stylistic editing; stylistic construction).

Abstract:
Abstract Over recent years, the use of corpora in stylistic analysis has grown in popularity. However, questions still remain over the remit of corpus stylistics, its distinction from corpus linguistics generally and its capacity to explain complex stylistic effects. This article argues in favour of an integrated corpus stylistics; that is, an approach to corpus stylistics that integrates it with other stylistic methods and analytical frameworks. I suggest that this approach is needed for two main reasons: (i) it is analytically necessary in order to fully explain stylistic effects in texts, and (ii) integrating corpus methods with other stylistic tools is what will distinguish corpus stylistics from corpus linguistics. My argument is supported by reference to examples from Mark Haddon’s no vel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time and the HBO TV series Deadwood. Both these examples rely for their explanation on a combination of corpus stylistic analytical techniques and other stylistic methods of analysis.

The stylistics are based on the concepts of tropes and figures. Embellishments of speech have been considered and analyzed since antiquity. In this direction, the works of many orators, philosophers and stylists are known (Theophrastus, Aristotle, Demetrius, Cicero, Quintilian, etc.). In linguistics, stylistic devices are studied in detail, but it analyzes how stylistic devices were translated into the Kyrgyz language containing information about English culture and history, what which correspond to the Kyrgyz culture in the tragedy of the great English writer W. Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of the evolution of stylistic devices in scientific research and the birth of stylistics. The methodological base consists of general scientific methods: analysis, synthesis and generalization of information from historical sources and practical research of scientists in stylistics and rhetoric. The analysis revealed that stylistic devices, as an efficient and impactful way of expressing thoughts and influencing the audience, contributed to the emergence of such a science as stylistics. The main sources of stylistics were the national language, dialects, classical and modern literature, works of artists, and mass media. The theoretical basis for the development of stylistics was rhetoric, linguistics, psychology and logic. Stylistics can be broadly defined as the linguistic science of the means of expression and the regularities of the functioning of language, determined by the most appropriate use of language units in the text, depending on the content of the statement, goals, situation and sphere of communication. The article also considers the issue of classification of stylistic devices in modern domestic and foreign linguistics. Due to the diversity and multifacet nature of this issue in modern stylistics, there is a certain variety of approaches to the classification of stylistic devices. Depending on the focus of the analysis, researchers distinguish: lexical-grammatical, rhetorical, discursive-pragmatic, functional-stylistic classifications, as well as the classification of emotional language, stylistic figures and stylistic techniques. In the English-speaking tradition, stylistic devices are classified by the type of influence on the target audience: logos, pathos, ethos, and kairos. Another approach involves the division of rhetorical figures into 3 diverse groups: sound-related, order-related and meaning-related.

Abstract:
Lexical stylistics is one of the main sections of stylistics, which studies the stylistic expressiveness of words. They also differ in lexicological and semantic stylistics. When studying the vocabulary of each language, it is necessary to determine the expressive role and stylistic coloring of different words. Different linguists were interested in the lexical stylistics of the Armenian language. Many of them have written both monographs and articles. Studies are still ongoing. Stylistic studies of vocabulary, as the most rapidly changing part of language, can bring new linguistic realities to light. They can refer to the direct and figurative meanings of words, the expressive possibilities of words belonging to exfoliation of lexicon, the stylistic value of colloquial, idiomatic, dialectal words, vulgarism, barbarism, as well as word usage, and various related issues. The article presents the basic problems of development of lexical stylistics (from the 1950s to the present day). We examined the semantic groups and exfoliation of lexicon based on S. Melkonyan and S. Eloyan's stylistic classifications and explained the stylistic analysis. We have studied the works written about lexical stylistics of the Armenian language, analyzed the provisions in various researches. The methodological basis is the combination of existing theoretical provisions.

Abstract:
This article offers an analytical review of the Department of Stylistics, Culture of Language, and Sociolinguistics’ study outcomes in 1991—2021. It focuses on the publications with the expanded linguo-stylistic analysis and the developing of the terminological system of Ukrainian stylistics. The authors reinterpret a term style and concept of language culture and outline the contribution to the development of structural stylistics, i.e., linguistic text analysis, and interpretive stylistics from the Department staff also naming major studies which determined the connection of linguistic stylistics with the history of Standard Ukrainian and establishing the significant role of historical stylistics. Being determined by the view of language as a system of signs the structural approach in linguistic stylistics dominated at early stages the Ukrainian stylistics formation. The paper advances a new idea regarding the fluidity of the modern system of functional styles and the need to revise and restructure their socially significant hierarchy with respect to the linguo-cultural and communicative-pragmatic reinterpretation of integrative linguo-stylistics. The interdisciplinary aspects of functional-stylistic and genre-stylistic researches are the following: linguoculturology, linguofolkloristics, linguosophy, linguopersonology, linguoconflictology, discourseology, media stylistics, legal linguistics, psycholinguistics, ethnolinguistics, and linguistic expertise. The conclusion evaluates the digital methods to process texts in Standard Ukrainian and the need to create lexicographic sources of stylistic terminology and expand the aspects of stylistic lexicography. Abstract:
The modern school of Ukrainian linguistic stylistics produces new approaches, formulates new theoretical positions, generates current, relevant directions of research, marks the latest ideas in the field of linguistic stylistic studies, which testifies to the significant achievements of the national linguistic stylistic scientific school in the world continuum. Ukrainian scientists, noting the change in the scientific paradigm of linguistic-stylistic research, direct attention to the integrative approach in modern linguistic-stylistics as a field of scientific knowledge. Justifying integrative approaches to the definition of the main categories of stylistics and style, pointing out the need to use new methods of interpreting artistic texts, they emphasize the role of linguistic stylistics in the education of linguistic personality. The proven emergence of stylistic research into a wider range of linguistic, literary, folkloristic, cultural, social and communication topics is dictated by the scientific and educational demands of our time. At the time of integration of linguistic stylistics with oral folk literature – a linguistic oral lexicologist. Linguistics is the science of language styles, varieties, forms of speech, language means of all levels. Linguistic oral verbal science studies the language of folklore works. Today, in stylistics, the question of the independence of the folk language style remains unsolved. There is an opinion that folklore can be qualified as a separate type of artistic style or, more broadly, as a separate functional style of literary language. The proven influence of the language of oral creativity on the development of the stylistic system of the Ukrainian language (the selection of colorful and stylistic varieties of the language). In linguistic stylistics, folk songs have been established as a stylistic category. The doctrine of linguistic and aesthetic signs of Ukrainian culture (S.Ya. Yermolenko) also appeals to the depths of the language of oral folk creativity. Connections of linguistic oral word science with all sections of stylistics are observed. The use of stylistic terminology in the process of analyzing the language of texts of oral folk literature is evidenced. The influence of oral folk literature on the development of the artistic style of the Ukrainian language is undeniable.

Abstract:
This article introduces the special issue. In it, we argue that research into reader response should be recognised as a vital aspect of contemporary stylistics, and we establish our focus on work which explicitly investigates such responses through the collection and analysis of extra-textual datasets. Reader response research in stylistics is characterised by a commitment to rigorous and evidence-based approaches to the study of readers’ interactions with and around texts, and the application of such datasets in the service of stylistic concerns, to contribute to stylistic textual analysis and/or wider discussion of stylistic theory and methods. We trace the influence of reader response criticism and reception theory on stylistics and discuss the productive dialogues which exist between stylistics and the related fields of the empirical study of literature and naturalistic study of reading. After offering an overview of methods available to reader response researchers and a contextualising survey of existing work, we argue that both experimental and naturalistic methods should be regarded as ‘empirical’, and that stylistics is uniquely positioned to embrace diverse approaches to readers and reading. We summarise contributions to the special issue and the valuable insights they offer into the historical context of reader response research and the way readers perceive and evaluate texts (either poetry or narrative prose). Stylistic reader response research enables both the testing and development of stylistic methods, in accordance with the progressive spirit of the discipline, and also the establishment of new and renewed connections between stylistic research and work in other fields.

The present thesis locates itself in the interdisciplinary field of computational stylistics, namely the application of statistical and computational methods to the study of literary style. Historically, most of the work done in computational stylistics has been focused on lexical aspects especially in the early decades of the discipline. However, in this thesis, our focus is put on the syntactic aspect of style which is quite much harder to capture and to analyze given its abstract nature. As main contribution, we work on an approach to the computational stylistic study of classic French literary texts based on a hermeneutic point of view, in which discovering interesting linguistic patterns is done without any prior knowledge. More concretely, we focus on the development and the extraction of complex yet computationally feasible stylistic features that are linguistically motivated, namely morpho-syntactic patterns. Following the hermeneutic line of thought, we propose a knowledge discovery process for the stylistic characterization with an emphasis on the syntactic dimension of style by extracting relevant patterns from a given text. This knowledge discovery process consists of two main steps, a sequential pattern mining step followed by the application of some interestingness measures. In particular, the extraction of all possible syntactic patterns of a given length is proposed as a particularly useful way to extract interesting features in an exploratory scenario. We propose, carry out an experimental evaluation and report results on three proposed interestingness measures, each of which is based on a different theoretical linguistic and statistical backgrounds

Abstract:
Information retrieval systems are built to handle texts as topical items:texts are tabulated by occurrence frequencies of content words in them, under the assumption that text topic is reasonably well modeled by contentword occurrence. But texts have several interesting characteristics beyondtopic. The experiments described in this text investigate {\em stylisticvariation}. Roughly put, style is the difference between two ways of sayingthe same thing --- and systematic stylistic variation can be used tocharacterize the {\em genre} of documents. These experiments investigate ifstylistic information is distinguishable using simple language engineeringmethods, and if in that case this type of information can be used toimprove information retrieval systems. A first set of experiments shows that simple measures of stylisticvariation can be used to distinguish genres from each other quiteadequately; how well depends on what the genres in question are. A second set of experiments evaluates the utility of stylistic measures forthe purposes of information retrieval, to identify common characteristicsof relevant and non-relevant documents. The conclusion is that the requestsfor information as typically expressed to retrieval systems are too terseand inspecific for non-topical information to improve retrieval results.Systems for information access need to be designed from the beginning tohandle richer information about the texts and documents at hand:information about stylistic variation cannot easily be added to an existingsystem. A third set of experiments explores how an interactive system can bedesigned to incorporate stylistic information in the interface between userand system. These experiments resulted in the design an interface forcategorizing retrieval results by genre, and displaying the retrievalresults using this categorization. This interface is integrated into aprototype for retrieving information from the World Wide Web.

Abstract:
To many readers, the Victorian novel is synonymous with moral insight and Victorian criticism with moral philistinism. While the novel remains celebrated for its complex treatment of decision-making and sympathy, the evaluative judgments of Victorian critics have been dismissed as thematically reductive and imprecise. However, this study argues that the virtue terms that pervade Victorian discourse--words like "natural," "manly," "lucid," and "sincere"--invest sentence-level stylistic properties with ethical value because they embody aesthetic character. Rather than focus on the novel's action, characters, or themes, these "stylistic virtues" ascribe moral significance to "literariness" itself.

Tulloch, Ian Keith. "Translating Zola's L’Assommoir : a stylistic approach." Thesis, Durham University, 2004. http://etheses.dur.ac.uk/2970/.

Full text
Abstract:
In the following thesis, we will be applying a number of linguistic, stylistic and critical techniques with a view to elucidating the phenomenon of literary translation. Our corpus will be drawn almost exclusively from Emile Zola's late nineteenth-century French classic, L'Assommoir, and seven English-language translations thereof: the focus of the thesis throughout being upon the analysis of concrete examples. Our aim is thus to arrive at a substantial body of analytical knowledge through the exploration of translation in practice rather than through a series of secondary commentaries upon other works of translation theory. Reference will, of course, be made to such works when appropriate. One of the principal premises of the thesis is that linguistic techniques can indeed be applied to a corpus of literary text without sacrificing traditional critical judgement or the possibility of rational evaluation. Accordingly, we will be concerned to formulate reasoned and explicit parameters of assessment throughout the course of our analysis. In particular, we will be seeking to illuminate the various facets of what we call 'literary texture' and how these might be rendered in translation. In certain cases, one rendering may be preferred to another, although no attempt will be made to rank the respective translations by order of merit in overall terms. Occasionally, we will also be hazarding our own versions when those drawn from the corpus prove to be unsatisfactory. Similarly, a 'proposed translation' is offered at the conclusion of every major passage studied. These translations are, of course, to be considered as open and heuristic explorations rather than prescriptive or definitive corrections. Our thesis will be divided into seven main chapters, each one of which is designed to illustrate the phenomenon of literary translation from a slightly different angle. In the first one of these, we map out the basic methodological template of the thesis. In the second, we examine various aspects of the decision making process involved in 'choosing the right word'. This lengthy second chapter is then followed by an analysis of the postulate that translations tend to be more periphrastic and explicit than originals. We then move onto the thorny terrain of prose rhythm, examining how the particular beat and pressure of the original text might be made to resonate within the echo chamber of another language. In the fifth and sixth chapters, we consider the difficulties involved in transcribing the specificity of colloquial language and slang into both written and translated form. Our study concludes with an exploration of Zola's écriture artiste, paying particular attention to the way in which the translators render the various figurative torques and twists characterising this highly aesthetic style of description. It is to be hoped that our thesis will be of interest both to students of translation in general and to Zola scholars in particular. I hereby declare that all work contained in this thesis not otherwise referenced is to be considered my own.

Wilson-deRoze, Karen Tamara. "Translating Wagner : a multimodal stylistic challenge." Thesis, University of Leicester, 2017. http://hdl.handle.net/2381/40878.

Full text
Abstract:
The translator tasked with providing a metrical (singing) translation of an opera libretto must consider that the opera, as a Gestalt, is ‘other’ than the sum of its individual verbal, musical and mimic-scenic parts and requires the translator to consider how the ‘web of relationships’ (Snell-Hornby, 1995: 450) between them is affected when one part is altered through translation. Translation, in this case, must go beyond copying the original prosody and rhyme schemes, so that the new words fit the notes, and consider the relationship between musical and poetic meaning as well as the resulting dramatic action on stage. As a composer, Richard Wagner was concerned with every thread in the semiotic web of his operas. He wrote the words and the music, provided copious stage directions, was involved with the production of his works, and went as far as building his own theatre at Bayreuth. His lengthy, and at times convoluted, theorising about the synthesis of poetry, music and the scenic-mimetic in his operas, serves as something of a functional blueprint of multimodality. In his 1851 monograph, Oper und Drama (1914a, 1914b), Wagner explains how musico-poetic synthesis is created through Versmelodie (verse-melody), from which melody grows organically, facilitated by the “direct sensory appeal” of alliteration, concision and free rhythm (Stein, 1960: 69). This thesis examines the “nexus of foregrounding” (Peer, 1986: 16) found in Wagner’s Die Walküre and Götterdämmerung and considers how three translations used in performance (Jameson c.1899, Porter 1977, Sams 2006) and my own respond to Wagner’s synthesis of verse and music. It will consider the constraints and influences which shape the translator’s recreation of Wagner’s musico-poetic style. My translation of these two operas from the Ring cycle has been produced for the aim of performance but unlike those of Jameson, Porter and Sams, they prioritize alliterative rhyme as an essential part of the musico-poetic intersemiosis.

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to examine the links between postmodernism and music ‘fusing’ what are commonly described as popular and classical styles. Much postmodern theory has discussed the relationship between ‘high’ and ‘low' and recognised eclecticism within art, but how does fusion connect with this? An investigation of terminology and definitions together with a discussion of historical precedents for contemporary cross-influences provides a base from which to explore fusion and the postmodern. A framework oulining postmodernism’s background and its relevance to music is used in conjunction with an analysis of works by Talk Talk, Mike Oldfield and Graham Fitkin. Developing the concept of what might constitute the postmodern in music, theargument moves beyond the consideration of inherent traits which may or may not suggest postmodernism. A broader concept based on a sense of postmodern spirit is developed, recognising the importance of the roles of context and aesthetic as well as characteristics within the text. A detailed analysis of various works by the chosen artists allows exploration of both the concept of fused music and the application of postmodern theory. It will be suggested that, although these musicians produce music which displays a number of traits which are considered by many to reflect postmodernism, the music in question does not necessarily represent a postmodern aesthetic: the most postmodern of the works considered is also the least fused. It will be argued that the characteristics of music itself cause considerable problems in the application of postmodern theory, and that fusion, by its very definition and because of the connotative qualities that specific musical references often carry, does not correlate to concepts of the postmodern.

Abstract:
Stylistics can be considered as a field of study that crosses text theory, linguistics, and journalism. Although different schools create different approaches to stylistics, each stylistic approach will include in its paradigm some basic factors, such as the reader and the author. This article shows how these factors interact with each other and, ultimately, create the basis for the emergence of a new field in Ukrainian journalism – interactive stylistics. The study is devoted to interactive stylistics, which is considering as a field based on the text’s own pragmatic potential in the context of modern humanities methodology. This discipline acquires a new function: to observe and interpretively explain, firstly, the meaning of interactions between agents (author and recipient) in communication, mediated by the media text, and, secondly, the effect that this interaction brings. At the center of interactive stylistics is the author (journalist), who through the text discusses the content of interactions in relation to his own interests, as well as cultural, social and historical contracts with the reader. The meaning of the expressions used and the general meaning of such interactions arises in the context of communication events, based on the perception of the subjects of communication with the surrounding reality through the assimilation and adequate interpretation of new information. In modern Ukrainian science of communication, the study of interactive stylistics acquires significant potential. It profiles itself in the context of interdisciplinarity and aims to explore interactivity, interpretability, as well as intertextuality (in specific media texts or interdiscourse dialogue). Interactive stylistics is able to meet the needs of communicators as a useful source of instructions on how communication subjects interact and has a chance to achieve success both at the domestic and international scientific level. Due to its scientific perspective of applying the above-mentioned methodology, it is harmoniously integrated among the tendentious linguistic and broader social science and humanitarian disciplines in Ukrainian scientific research or in the wider international context. Keywords: interactive stylistics; stylistics; reverse communication; style; interactivity; media text.

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to determine the artistic and graphic peculiarities of the Franco-Belgian exhibition poster of the 1890s in the context of the formation of the Art Nouveau style. The research methodology of the work is based on the use of traditional art methods: historical and cultural, reconstructive and model, historical and attributive, which contributed to the revealing of artistic and graphic transformations in the field of Franco-Belgian spectacular poster. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the author’s artistic interpretation of the stylistic manner of the creators of the spectacular poster in “style floreale” as one of the leading directions of the development of the artistic style of that period. The distinctive features of this type of the artistic work are outlined on the basis of the review of the stylistic and image transformations of exhibition posters of the famous artists – J. Chéret, A. Toulouse-Lautrec, E. Grasset, A. Mucha, A. Privat-Livemont and others. Attention is focused on the identification of the presentation features of the advertised exhibition events as an important cultural events of that time. Means of artistic visualization of information are studied taking into consideration the specific nature of the poster. Conclusions. In the general cultural and historical context of that time, the poster has become a significant component of the formation of national trends in the artistic style of the day, in particular - the Franco-Belgian Art Nouveau style. The exhibition poster, reflecting the stylistic landmarks of the time, contributed to the formation of the artistic vision as a manifestation of the cultural and artistic landmarks of the studied period.

Abstract:
Peculiarities of translating romance novels are considered in the article. Examples from the novel by Kristan Higgins “Too good to be true” are given in order corresponding to their manifestation in the book. Special attention is given to the translation of realities. The main translation techniques used are transliteration and transcription, calquing, and combinations (concerning onomastic realities), descriptive translation and approximation (concerning everyday realities and associations). Besides, it is mentioned, that gender dimension is extremely pragmatically valid in the context of other stylistic and grammatical aspects of the text. The authors make a conclusion of dynamic changes in speech stereotypes towards blurring gender lines between masculine and feminine speech behavior. It is important to consider this fact when translating romance novels.

Бережна, Маргарита Василівна. Translator’s Gender in the Target Text. Publishing House “Baltija Publishing”, 2020. http://dx.doi.org/10.31812/123456789/4140.

Full text
Abstract:
For the last three decades, the issue of translator’s gender and its representation in the target text has been actively researched in translation studies. Over the period there appeared numerous, sometimes contradicting views on markers of feminine / masculine / other types of speech, on whether the translator’s gender is revealed in the target text, and on the quality of translation depending on the translator’s gender. The present paper focuses on the translator’s gender markers in the target text. Taking into account the results of other linguists and my own observations, I consider the researched units being either definite or ambiguous markers of the translator’s gender. I want to bring to light gender differences in two Ukrainian translations (female translation by Natalia Tysovska and male translation by Viacheslav Brodovyi) of George R.R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones. The semantic, pragmatic and stylistic shifts in the target text conditioned by the translator’s gender and gender stereotypes blur the sense of the source text. Thus, such shifts should be regarded as unwanted changes and better be avoided.

Jakobson, Mari-Liis. Populism in the 2024 European Parliament Elections in Estonia. European Center for Populism Studies (ECPS), October 2024. http://dx.doi.org/10.55271/rp0068.

Full text
Abstract:
Although past European Parliament (EP) elections in Estonia have witnessed the success of an anti-establishment candidate, Estonian EP elections are not generally fertile soil for populism. Estonian EP elections tend to be dominated by the liberal and progressive parties and candidates with notable foreign policy track records. The 2024 EP elections generally confirmed this pattern but also witnessed the conservative parties running on a second-order election agenda critical of the government and parties both on the right and left-wing edges of the spectrum tapping into the small but nonetheless committed pool of Eurosceptic voters. Moreover, most parties made use of the stylistic repertoires of populism, attempting to perform various crises. While the election results changed little in the overall composition of the Estonian MEP delegation, the events unravelling immediately after the election suggest that the Estonian populist radical right will become more diverse but also more isolated from its sibling parties on the European level. Yatsymirska, Mariya. MODERN MEDIA TEXT: POLITICAL NARRATIVES, MEANINGS AND SENSES, EMOTIONAL MARKERS. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, February 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2022.51.11411.

Full text
Abstract:
The article examines modern media texts in the field of political journalism; the role of information narratives and emotional markers in media doctrine is clarified; verbal expression of rational meanings in the articles of famous Ukrainian analysts is shown. Popular theories of emotions in the process of cognition are considered, their relationship with the author’s personality, reader psychology and gonzo journalism is shown. Since the media text, in contrast to the text, is a product of social communication, the main narrative is information with the intention of influencing public opinion. Media text implies the presence of the author as a creator of meanings. In addition, media texts have universal features: word, sound, visuality (stills, photos, videos). They are traditionally divided into radio, TV, newspaper and Internet texts. The concepts of multimedia and hypertext are related to online texts. Web combinations, especially in political journalism, have intensified the interactive branching of nonlinear texts that cannot be published in traditional media. The Internet as a medium has created the conditions for the exchange of ideas in the most emotional way. Hence Gonzo’s interest in journalism, which expresses impressions of certain events in words and epithets, regardless of their stylistic affiliation. There are many such examples on social media in connection with the events surrounding the Wagnerians, the Poroshenko case, Russia’s new aggression against Ukraine, and others. Thus, the study of new features of media text in the context of modern political narratives and emotional markers is important in media research. The article focuses review of etymology, origin and features of using lexemes “cмисл (meaning)” and “сенс (sense)” in linguistic practice of Ukrainians results in the development of meanings and functional stylistic coloring in the usage of these units. Lexemes “cмисл (meaning)” and “сенс (sense)” are used as synonyms, but there are specific fields of meanings where they cannot be interchanged: lexeme “сенс (sense)” should be used when it comes to reasonable grounds for something, lexeme “cмисл (meaning)” should be used when it comes to notion, concept, understanding. Modern political texts are most prominent in genres such as interviews with politicians, political commentaries, analytical articles by media experts and journalists, political reviews, political portraits, political talk shows, and conversations about recent events, accompanied by effective emotional narratives. Etymologically, the concept of “narrative” is associated with the Latin adjective “gnarus” – expert. Speakers, philosophers, and literary critics considered narrative an “example of the human mind.” In modern media texts it is not only “story”, “explanation”, “message techniques”, “chronological reproduction of events”, but first of all the semantic load and what subjective meanings the author voices; it is a process of logical presentation of arguments (narration). The highly professional narrator uses narration as a “method of organizing discourse” around facts and impressions, impresses with his political erudition, extraordinary intelligence and creativity. Some of the above theses are reflected in the following illustrations from the Ukrainian media: “Culture outside politics” – a pro-Russian narrative…” (MP Gabibullayeva); “The next will be Russia – in the post-Soviet space is the Arab Spring…” (journalist Vitaly Portnikov); “In Russia, only the collapse of Ukraine will be perceived as success” (Pavel Klimkin); “Our army is fighting, hiding from the leadership” (Yuri Butusov).
