Abstract:
The article considers various peculiarities of implementing stylistic devices (metaphor, gradation, personification, contrast) in the advertising poly-code media text that, in its turn, serves as the object of the research. The research proves that the realization of stylistic devices can be actualized not only on the basis of the close correlation of iconic and verbal components (integration or extension relationships), but also within the structure of the iconic component independently and without any verbal elements. The author searches out that the notion of the stylistic device can be expanded and go beyond the boundaries of text and discourse. This fact outlines and stresses the high stylistic potential of the iconic component in the structure of the advertising media text and gives reasons for the development of visual stylistics that can be considered to be a new branch of stylistics in general.

Abstract:
In examining SF it is essential to begin with the specifically stylistic dimension of it. Style is widely taken to be a privileged category in the analysis of any literary kind, a kind of touchstone of the literary itself and it is especially relevant to the study of SF – a modern, non-traditional language phenomenon. Viewed in the light of this attitude and the belief underlying this stance, it should be mentioned that SF style, conditioned by the ontological juxtaposition of factitiousness and fictitiousness, implies plentiful use of “real” and invented technical terms, a host of invented present or future scientific jargon, a whole series of neologisms and coinages, fantastic literalized or non-literalized metaphors, and many other linguistic and stylistic means. My assertion will be that science fictional style is largely self-contained as certain stylistic means tend to occur in no other discourse or genre.

Abstract:
The article deals with detailed linguistic stylistic analysis of one of Harold Pinter’s “memory plays” Betrayal. The object of our investigation is the text of the play and the subject is its linguistic stylistic peculiarities. This literary work stands out from the rest of the plays due to its autobiographical element – the prototypes of main characters of Betrayal are Pinter himself, his lover Joan Bakewell and her husband. The central motif, as the title suggests, is betrayal which incorporates two types of this phenomenon – a betrayal of a spouse and a betrayal of a friend. We have studied the motif of betrayal realized both in author’s remark and characters’ dialogue at all language levels. It is noticeable that incomplete, elliptical sentences together with aposiopesis prevail – their purpose is to reflect emotional tension presented in characters’ utterances. Among other dominant figures of speech are repetition of different type (alliteration, morphological and lexical repetition, anaphora, epiphora and parallel construction), semantic associative group of words denoting human relationship and marriage, words denoting emotions (mostly adjectives), numerous intensifiers, words with strong emotional connotations and verbal irony. Also, author’s remarks “pause” and “silence”, performing various functions, are conspicuous.

This research aimed to investigate the technical characteristics/stylistic involved with the Three Studies of Concert for guitar the songwriter gaucho Radamés Gnattali, in its interaction with the processes of circularity and cultural hybridization. Tried to reach, especially, to the peculiarities of the work of this composer, related to the inseparability between stylistic characteristics /idiomatismo/Technical/cultural interaction, emphasizing always transit that has been established between the specificities of different fields of musical production (Bourdieu, 2003). Chartier (1990), Hall (2005), Bourdieu (2003) and Canclini offered (2003), allowed for a theoretical foundation that took on important representational reference, referring to the possibilities raised by practical knowledge and daily involved with identitary processes, that is the objective and becomes evident in verbal formulations, practices and cultural works. This reasoning pointed as the methodological approach, in addition to the bibliographic research, referring to the removal of scenarios sociohistorical and cultural and the elements of the path of life and musical Gnattali, the analysis and interpretation of works that integrate the Three Studies of Concert for guitar. In this context, the analysis and interpretation of scores were performed in interaction with the analysis and interpretation of works recorded on CDs and with data collected in the research literature. Thus, it was possible to confirm the assumption that the works of Radamés Gnatalli Gnattali that integrate Three studies of Concert for guitar, were able to prove the specificity of his work as a composer, a composer who transitioned so fluidic flip by different cultural dimensions; who worked in the most peculiar way a musical language hybrid, indicative of stylistic peculiarities that demonstrate not only his transit cultural, but also their interaction with the sound features, technicians of the instrument.

Abstract:
Haydn’s instrumental music is often marked by peculiarities—events that feature harmonic deflections, gasping pauses, metrically dissonant accents, and the like—for which the customary methods of structural and stylistic analysis can promise only limited explanation. The evolving language of Disability Studies in music offers a vantage point for contemplating such idiosyncrasies, most notably those that suggest musical equivalents of impairment and recovery. A disability-related perspective may serve as a guide in the search for appropriate metaphors: words and images that can help breathe life into our interaction with a given work as listeners and performers. As witnessed in certain passages from Haydn’s string quartets and a symphony, a reading that shows the music to embody disabling conditions and their remediation helps us connect with emotions and experiences that may resonate with the lives of the composer and his contemporaries as well as with our own.

Abstract:
Deminutive vocabulary is a vivid means of emotional and allegorical expression of a literary text, especially when it comes to Ukrainian folk songs. The need for its further study in terms of word formation, semantics and expressive possibilities in the literary text will clarify the idea of reduction as a word-forming category, the peculiarities of its use in Ukrainian folk songs. High derivational activity of diminutive suffixes in the modern Ukrainian language is a manifestation of the nominative function – the desire to call small objects (rarely – minor phenomena of reality) a derivative with a diminutive formant. With the help of diminutive suffixes the aesthetic function of the word is realized – the desire to give the lexical unit of expression, to introduce into it an additional shade of expression. Diminutives often used in adult language addressed to children, and in children's language. Each group of words of subjective evaluation characterized by certain forms used in the formation of derivatives and express an inexhaustible number of different shades of meaning. Derivational analysis can be complicat by the specific possibilities of context and intonation, as in language and speech there may be an erasure of the basic meaning of the subjective-evaluation token and its transition from one group of words of subjective evaluation to another. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the multi-vector exploration: an attempt to generalize the idea of diminutives as a word-forming category, including typical suffixes with which they are formed, their word-forming meanings and productivity, types of creative bases, and to trace the stylistic role of diminutives on Ukrainian folk songs. The relevance of the proposed exploration determined by the insufficient development of the topic of diminutive derivation in song folklore, the importance and role of diminutives in Ukrainian folk songs. The connection of the researched topic with the general problems of Ukrainian stylistic word formation also seems to be theoretically important and relevant. The aim of the research is to reveal the lexical-semantic and word-forming features of diminutives, as well as their stylistic load in the texts of Ukrainian folk songs. To achieve this goal it is necessary to perform the following research tasks: to outline the theoretical foundations of the study of diminutives as a type of derived words in modern linguistic literature; to characterize the specifics of Ukrainian diminutives; to carry out semantic classification of the considered diminutives; analyze the grammatical and structural properties of diminutives; to determine the stylistic role of diminutives in Ukrainian folk songs. Research methods: the main thing in the work is the descriptive method, with its universal methods of observation, systematization and interpretation of linguistic facts and phenomena. The presentation of the researched material is subject to clear logicization: substantiation of theoretical bases, presentative-analytical presentation of the fact, formulation of the concluding part.

Abstract:
Across Prokofiev’s oeuvre, his piano works—and especially his piano concertos—hold a special place. A consummate pianist, he realized early on that, among various performers, he himself was the most persuasive advocate for his music. His appearances as a pianist were opportunities to present his compositions to various international audiences. Each of the piano concertos was a harbinger of important stylistic shifts in the composer’s output in general, and his piano music in particular. This chapter examines each of these works separately, looking into the circumstances of their creation, as well as the changes in Prokofiev’s style demonstrated by each of them. It explores the peculiarities of his writing for piano and the challenges it presents to the performer. By also looking into the changes in Prokofiev’s approach to the instrument as revealed in each concerto, it offers some practical solutions that may be helpful to pianists.

Abstract:
In this chapter it is suggested that the encomium for Manuel’s deceased brother, Theodore Palaiologos was integrated into a broader account of the affairs of the Morea. Manuel emulated the traditions both of the panegyric oration and of the epic/chronicle. The subject matter, the praise for his brother, is treated in the form of a narrative account, and to a large extent the author is precise about the events he recounts. By this account, the unit dealing with Theodore’s achievements was conceived not as a mere list of glorious deeds illustrating Theodore’s virtues but as a string of interconnected episodes, truly an account of the Morea and not only of the brother. Certainly, these elements did not combine in a composition resembling a historical chronicle. However, they were primarily intended not just to describe military situations but also to convey a political message, as various stylistic devices such as the configuration of a strong narrative voice or the use of criticism indicate. Based on the peculiarities of the author’s literary strategies, this narrative of Theodore’s deeds took the form of a sanitised, official account of events which put forward a message that claimed Morea’s dynastic control.

Abstract:
Active European integration processes in the state, education and business determine relevance of the study. They pay special attention to the discipline «Foreign language for specific purposes» in the training of agricultural specialists. The purpose of this study is to consider the scientific and methodical aspects of formation of readiness for German-language professionally oriented communication among future agriculturists. Theoretical (analysis, systematization, generalization, modeling) and empirical methods were used to achieve this goal. They allowed to analyze the latest scientific research in the field of foreign language training, problems of readiness for foreign language communication, features of foreign language professionally oriented communication of agro-industrial enterprises` specialists. The analysis of the professional requirements for future farmers, scientific approaches to interpretation of the concept «readiness», modern concepts of foreign language teaching methods gave grounds to specify the concept of readiness for German-speaking professionally oriented communication of agriculturists, which is seen as the competence to use acquired knowledge, ability and skills for successful German-speaking professionally oriented communication. Analysis of the national experience of foreign language training of agricultural sector specialists shows that the main purpose of foreign languages studying in higher educational establishments is the training a specialist who can use the German language as a tool of professional activity and professional knowledge. In order to achieve this goal it is necessary to develop the linguistic, social-cultural, educational and professional components of German-speaking professionally oriented communicative competence. Communication is an integral part of the professional activities of specialists. It is based on general social and psychological patterns and focuses on the successful and effective implementation of professional duties, and includes the exchange of proposals, requirements, views, motives to solve specific problems, sign agreements or establish other relations between the subjects of joint activities. German-language professionally oriented communication has its linguistic features, namely: lexical (terms, scientific and technical phraseology, professionalism, jargon, abbreviations and acronyms), grammatical (nominal style, modal verbs, passive voice, sentence length) and stylistic (metaphor, comparison and epithets). According to the fundamental bases of foreign language training the model of formation of readiness for German-language professionally oriented communication among future agriculturists is proposed, based on the peculiarities of teaching foreign languages in agricultural universities and the specificity of professionally oriented communication of specialists in the agricultural sector. It consists of the following blocks: motivational-target, theoretical-methodological, content-technological and productive-estimated. The effectiveness of the model depends on such factors as: the organization of the appropriate language environment, modeling of professional situations in the classroom and increase motivation for professionally oriented communication. The results of the study are to determine the place of formation of readiness for foreign language communication in the professional education of future farmers, to determine the linguistic features of German-language communication of agronomists, to substantiate the organizational and pedagogical conditions of German-language training and create an appropriate model. The formation of readiness for professionally oriented communication in a foreign language is a systematic, long-term process that involves the development of traditional professional ideas, professional thinking and professional behavior.

Less known and studied are Bunin’s translations of A.B. Mickiewicz’s sonnets — “Akkerman steppes”, “Chatyrdag” and “Alushta at night”. Developing his own concept of literary translation, Bunin inherited the poetic tendencies of the past century, the rules of accentual-syllabic arrangement of a sonnet that had developed in Russian versification, and the peculiarities of Mickiewicz’s Crimean poems as “travel notes” dating back to P.A. Vyazemsky. As a result of a comparative analysis of the Polish and Bunian texts, we find a two-pronged approach to verse translation and interpretation — on the one hand, the accuracy of the world image and strict adherence to the Russian sonnet structure, on the other, freedom of expression through the stylistics and emphatics of the native Russian language.

Abstract:
The article discusses the ways of the optimal formation of sound production techniques in the interpretation of multi-style piano music. The research methodology is based on the use of the historical method to highlight the evolution of methodological approaches to the formation of piano performing technique; analytical - to study the problem in scientific research in psychology, psychophysiology, musical pedagogy, piano performance; musicological method of analysis of piano styles; method of generalizing the piano performing experience of leading artists to substantiate the peculiarities of performing intonation of multi-style piano music. The purpose of this study is to identify the integral direction of improving the process of the formation of instrumental and performing technique, to concretize the sound forms of the embodiment of key pianistic skills, and to outline their typical motor characteristics. For the purpose of the study, methodological approaches to the formation of performing technique in the history of piano pedagogy are analyzed. The evolution of views on the technical development of the performer in different piano schools appears as a transition from empirical methods to scientifically grounded ones, as a change in the subject of the direction of the pianist's consciousness: identification of the most advanced forms of playing techniques, maximum attention to the sound result with the intuitive establishment of auditory-motor connection, conscious processing of auditory-motor coordination. The conditions for the optimal development of piano playing technique are considered, taking into account scientific achievements in the field of physiology, psychophysiology, and musical pedagogy. The circle of those skills of the pianist is determined, the acquisition of which optimizes the technical development of the performer: the skills of style-like sound production and sound science, which make up the technique of style-like sound formation. The content of the process of conscious mastering of interdependent and mutually conditioned components of such playing techniques is specified: generalized understanding of the common factors of the musical and linguistic environment of a certain piano style; creation of vivid sound-like performances based on emotional and intellectual comprehension of musical compositions, coordination of auditory-motor representations of such "mobile" expressive means as articulation, dynamics, agogics and timbre; improvement of motor skills from the point of view of physical convenience with the help of associations with previously acquired relevant performance experience, as well as life motor experience of economical expedient use of motor activity. The main stylistic features of sound production techniques in the interpretation of the piano heritage of Ludwig van Beethoven, Fryderyk Chopin, Serhiy Prokofiev are characterized on the basis of an analysis of their aesthetic ideals, "stable" and "mobile" expressive means of the composers' music, and the performing styles of the artists themselves. The examples of effective mastering by specific ways of combining tones that are appropriate in the style of composers are given. The described playing techniques are primarily a reference point in the art of sound production, a generalization of the rich scale of the pianistic initial touch. In practice, certain changes, combinations of techniques and movements can and do occur. In order to render the specific content of a piece of music, it is often necessary to deviate from the "textbook" way of playing with "exemplary" movements. At the same time, mastering the relationship and interdependence of stylistically conditioned sound tasks and expedient motor skills will make it possible to variably apply the playing techniques mastered in the embodiment of many nuances of the soundest images of highly artistic pieces of piano music.

Yatsymirska, Mariya. KEY IMPRESSIONS OF 2020 IN JOURNALISTIC TEXTS. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, March 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2021.50.11107.

Abstract:
The article explores the key vocabulary of 2020 in the network space of Ukraine. Texts of journalistic, official-business style, analytical publications of well-known journalists on current topics are analyzed. Extralinguistic factors of new word formation, their adaptation to the sphere of special and socio-political vocabulary of the Ukrainian language are determined. Examples show modern impressions in the media, their stylistic use and impact on public opinion in a pandemic. New meanings of foreign expressions, media terminology, peculiarities of translation of neologisms from English into Ukrainian have been clarified. According to the materials of the online media, a «dictionary of the coronavirus era» is provided. The journalistic text functions in the media on the basis of logical judgments, credible arguments, impressive language. Its purpose is to show the socio-political problem, to sharpen its significance for society and to propose solutions through convincing considerations. Most researchers emphasize the influential role of journalistic style, which through the media shapes public opinion on issues of politics, economics, education, health care, war, the future of the country. To cover such a wide range of topics, socio-political vocabulary is used first of all – neutral and emotionally-evaluative, rhetorical questions and imperatives, special terminology, foreign words. There is an ongoing discussion in online publications about the use of the new foreign token «lockdown» instead of the word «quarantine», which has long been learned in the Ukrainian language. Research on this topic has shown that at the initial stage of the pandemic, the word «lockdown» prevailed in the colloquial language of politicians, media personalities and part of society did not quite understand its meaning. Lockdown, in its current interpretation, is a restrictive measure to protect people from a dangerous virus that has spread to many countries; isolation of the population («stay in place») in case of risk of spreading Covid-19. In English, US citizens are told what a lockdown is: «A lockdown is a restriction policy for people or communities to stay where they are, usually due to specific risks to themselves or to others if they can move and interact freely. The term «stay-at-home» or «shelter-in-place» is often used for lockdowns that affect an area, rather than specific locations». Content analysis of online texts leads to the conclusion that in 2020 a special vocabulary was actively functioning, with the appropriate definitions, which the media described as a «dictionary of coronavirus vocabulary». Media broadcasting is the deepest and pulsating source of creative texts with new meanings, phrases, expressiveness. The influential power of the word finds its unconditional embodiment in the media. Journalists, bloggers, experts, politicians, analyzing current events, produce concepts of a new reality. The world is changing and the language of the media is responding to these changes. It manifests itself most vividly and emotionally in the network sphere, in various genres and styles.
