Abstract:
The article analyzes the concept of “stylistic competence”, which is defined as the ability to learn the stylistic system of the language at the phonetic, lexical-semantic, phraseological and grammatical levels. The main concepts of stylistics have been clarified. The object and subject of studying stylistics have been characterized. Such sections of stylistics as stylistics of language, stylistics of speech and stylistics of fiction have been studied. The concept of “language style” and “speech style” has been distinguished. The problem of compliance with stylistic norms and features of formation of stylistic abilities and skills has been outlined. The linguistic-didactic system for the formation of students’ stylistic competence has been defined, which includes: approaches to learning (functional-stylistic, which ensures effective work on the representation of the features of the functioning of language units, their implementation in each style; the formation of fluency in speaking skills), learning patterns (patterns of language learning and patterns of speech learning); teaching principles (general didactic and linguistic didactic); groups of exercises (according to the content of the main material, according to the method of execution) and specific methods (observation of stylistic functions of language units, stylistic experiment; stylistic editing; stylistic construction).

Abstract:
Abstract Over recent years, the use of corpora in stylistic analysis has grown in popularity. However, questions still remain over the remit of corpus stylistics, its distinction from corpus linguistics generally and its capacity to explain complex stylistic effects. This article argues in favour of an integrated corpus stylistics; that is, an approach to corpus stylistics that integrates it with other stylistic methods and analytical frameworks. I suggest that this approach is needed for two main reasons: (i) it is analytically necessary in order to fully explain stylistic effects in texts, and (ii) integrating corpus methods with other stylistic tools is what will distinguish corpus stylistics from corpus linguistics. My argument is supported by reference to examples from Mark Haddon’s no vel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time and the HBO TV series Deadwood. Both these examples rely for their explanation on a combination of corpus stylistic analytical techniques and other stylistic methods of analysis.

The stylistics are based on the concepts of tropes and figures. Embellishments of speech have been considered and analyzed since antiquity. In this direction, the works of many orators, philosophers and stylists are known (Theophrastus, Aristotle, Demetrius, Cicero, Quintilian, etc.). In linguistics, stylistic devices are studied in detail, but it analyzes how stylistic devices were translated into the Kyrgyz language containing information about English culture and history, what which correspond to the Kyrgyz culture in the tragedy of the great English writer W. Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of the evolution of stylistic devices in scientific research and the birth of stylistics. The methodological base consists of general scientific methods: analysis, synthesis and generalization of information from historical sources and practical research of scientists in stylistics and rhetoric. The analysis revealed that stylistic devices, as an efficient and impactful way of expressing thoughts and influencing the audience, contributed to the emergence of such a science as stylistics. The main sources of stylistics were the national language, dialects, classical and modern literature, works of artists, and mass media. The theoretical basis for the development of stylistics was rhetoric, linguistics, psychology and logic. Stylistics can be broadly defined as the linguistic science of the means of expression and the regularities of the functioning of language, determined by the most appropriate use of language units in the text, depending on the content of the statement, goals, situation and sphere of communication. The article also considers the issue of classification of stylistic devices in modern domestic and foreign linguistics. Due to the diversity and multifacet nature of this issue in modern stylistics, there is a certain variety of approaches to the classification of stylistic devices. Depending on the focus of the analysis, researchers distinguish: lexical-grammatical, rhetorical, discursive-pragmatic, functional-stylistic classifications, as well as the classification of emotional language, stylistic figures and stylistic techniques. In the English-speaking tradition, stylistic devices are classified by the type of influence on the target audience: logos, pathos, ethos, and kairos. Another approach involves the division of rhetorical figures into 3 diverse groups: sound-related, order-related and meaning-related.

Abstract:
Lexical stylistics is one of the main sections of stylistics, which studies the stylistic expressiveness of words. They also differ in lexicological and semantic stylistics. When studying the vocabulary of each language, it is necessary to determine the expressive role and stylistic coloring of different words. Different linguists were interested in the lexical stylistics of the Armenian language. Many of them have written both monographs and articles. Studies are still ongoing. Stylistic studies of vocabulary, as the most rapidly changing part of language, can bring new linguistic realities to light. They can refer to the direct and figurative meanings of words, the expressive possibilities of words belonging to exfoliation of lexicon, the stylistic value of colloquial, idiomatic, dialectal words, vulgarism, barbarism, as well as word usage, and various related issues. The article presents the basic problems of development of lexical stylistics (from the 1950s to the present day). We examined the semantic groups and exfoliation of lexicon based on S. Melkonyan and S. Eloyan's stylistic classifications and explained the stylistic analysis. We have studied the works written about lexical stylistics of the Armenian language, analyzed the provisions in various researches. The methodological basis is the combination of existing theoretical provisions.

Abstract:
This article offers an analytical review of the Department of Stylistics, Culture of Language, and Sociolinguistics’ study outcomes in 1991—2021. It focuses on the publications with the expanded linguo-stylistic analysis and the developing of the terminological system of Ukrainian stylistics. The authors reinterpret a term style and concept of language culture and outline the contribution to the development of structural stylistics, i.e., linguistic text analysis, and interpretive stylistics from the Department staff also naming major studies which determined the connection of linguistic stylistics with the history of Standard Ukrainian and establishing the significant role of historical stylistics. Being determined by the view of language as a system of signs the structural approach in linguistic stylistics dominated at early stages the Ukrainian stylistics formation. The paper advances a new idea regarding the fluidity of the modern system of functional styles and the need to revise and restructure their socially significant hierarchy with respect to the linguo-cultural and communicative-pragmatic reinterpretation of integrative linguo-stylistics. The interdisciplinary aspects of functional-stylistic and genre-stylistic researches are the following: linguoculturology, linguofolkloristics, linguosophy, linguopersonology, linguoconflictology, discourseology, media stylistics, legal linguistics, psycholinguistics, ethnolinguistics, and linguistic expertise. The conclusion evaluates the digital methods to process texts in Standard Ukrainian and the need to create lexicographic sources of stylistic terminology and expand the aspects of stylistic lexicography. Abstract:
The modern school of Ukrainian linguistic stylistics produces new approaches, formulates new theoretical positions, generates current, relevant directions of research, marks the latest ideas in the field of linguistic stylistic studies, which testifies to the significant achievements of the national linguistic stylistic scientific school in the world continuum. Ukrainian scientists, noting the change in the scientific paradigm of linguistic-stylistic research, direct attention to the integrative approach in modern linguistic-stylistics as a field of scientific knowledge. Justifying integrative approaches to the definition of the main categories of stylistics and style, pointing out the need to use new methods of interpreting artistic texts, they emphasize the role of linguistic stylistics in the education of linguistic personality. The proven emergence of stylistic research into a wider range of linguistic, literary, folkloristic, cultural, social and communication topics is dictated by the scientific and educational demands of our time. At the time of integration of linguistic stylistics with oral folk literature – a linguistic oral lexicologist. Linguistics is the science of language styles, varieties, forms of speech, language means of all levels. Linguistic oral verbal science studies the language of folklore works. Today, in stylistics, the question of the independence of the folk language style remains unsolved. There is an opinion that folklore can be qualified as a separate type of artistic style or, more broadly, as a separate functional style of literary language. The proven influence of the language of oral creativity on the development of the stylistic system of the Ukrainian language (the selection of colorful and stylistic varieties of the language). In linguistic stylistics, folk songs have been established as a stylistic category. The doctrine of linguistic and aesthetic signs of Ukrainian culture (S.Ya. Yermolenko) also appeals to the depths of the language of oral folk creativity. Connections of linguistic oral word science with all sections of stylistics are observed. The use of stylistic terminology in the process of analyzing the language of texts of oral folk literature is evidenced. The influence of oral folk literature on the development of the artistic style of the Ukrainian language is undeniable.

Abstract:
This article introduces the special issue. In it, we argue that research into reader response should be recognised as a vital aspect of contemporary stylistics, and we establish our focus on work which explicitly investigates such responses through the collection and analysis of extra-textual datasets. Reader response research in stylistics is characterised by a commitment to rigorous and evidence-based approaches to the study of readers’ interactions with and around texts, and the application of such datasets in the service of stylistic concerns, to contribute to stylistic textual analysis and/or wider discussion of stylistic theory and methods. We trace the influence of reader response criticism and reception theory on stylistics and discuss the productive dialogues which exist between stylistics and the related fields of the empirical study of literature and naturalistic study of reading. After offering an overview of methods available to reader response researchers and a contextualising survey of existing work, we argue that both experimental and naturalistic methods should be regarded as ‘empirical’, and that stylistics is uniquely positioned to embrace diverse approaches to readers and reading. We summarise contributions to the special issue and the valuable insights they offer into the historical context of reader response research and the way readers perceive and evaluate texts (either poetry or narrative prose). Stylistic reader response research enables both the testing and development of stylistic methods, in accordance with the progressive spirit of the discipline, and also the establishment of new and renewed connections between stylistic research and work in other fields.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the problem of identification and systematization of stylistic means of journalistic film texts according to their linguosemiotic status. With the help of a number of general scientific (observation, comparison, generalization, quantitative calculations) and special (descriptive, functional) methods, the Ukrainian-language journalistic films of A. Galimov, A. Romanidi, and H. Kovalenko were investigated. The author of the article explained the essence and indicated the problematic status of the concept of “journalistic film text” in linguistic science. It is argued that journalistic film text is a subspecies of documentary film text, which presents a purely author’s/journalistic view of real events of the past and present. The journalistic film text differs from the documentary one in the presence of selfdirected conclusions and a wider temporal marking of the plot. It is noticed that stylistics of different language levels function in the tectonics of journalistic film texts. Stylistics of the phonetic level are accents. Stylistics of the lexical level are professional-industrial, official-business, scientific-terminological, emotional vocabulary, tropes, foreign lexemes, obsolete vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, colloquial words. Stylistics of the grammatical level are complex sentences, past tense forms of the verb, inflections. According to quantitative calculations, the stylistic level of the lexical level is the most recorded. It is proposed to determine the semiotic status of stylists according to the functional principle and to distinguish the following types of signs: subsign, suprasing, synsing. Subsigns are, first of all, stylistics of the grammatical level, which serve as a kind of “packaging” of the content, that is, its form. Suprasigns are lexical-level stylistics, because the word on television is the main source of information. Phonetic-level stylistics, which are used to detail the social portrait of those about whom the story is told, are synsings.

The development of modern graphic design was influenced by the Dutch "style school", "style school"? The "Stylists"? As a result, graphic design began to shift from cubism to total abstraction. Mondrian, the founder of the school, absorbed the philosophical ideas of idealism and used rigorous design and romantic brushstrokes to blend the best of the modern and the classical. Using straight lines, only the three primary colours of geometry and black, white and grey to create his designs, this paper examines the use of 'stylistic' design thinking and methods in graphic design, the inspiration of 'stylistic' applications to graphic design, and finally explores the future of graphic design. Finally, it explores the future development of the application of "Stylistics" in graphic design.

This paper displays the ideological positioning as found in Rudyard Kipling’s poem If. It is a poem published in 1910. It presents the embedded ideologies and shows how the poet used the available linguistic resources to achieve his goal. The models of analysis adopted are Critical Stylistics as proposed by Lesley Jeffries (2010) and Stylistic Analysis as submitted by McIntyre (2010). The paper aims at identifying the poet’s beliefs to show that success is the outcome of self-control and a real sense of the values of things. It is a try to discover how the poet used various linguistic choices to build a message telling us how to deal with life confidently and identify a line of ideological positioning through Critical Stylistic strategies. The paper presents a theoretical background of the term stylistics and critical stylistics, explaining the adopted models; Analyzing the poem stylistically with a focus on critical stylistic regarding two tools: Representing and Negating for their dominant use in the poem and their effectiveness in interpreting the hidden ideologies. Stylistic devices are used because they steer the text to enable the writer to reach the intended goal. Abstract:
It is customary to stop at a moment in the course of the development of linguistics and to summarize the achievements with an examination point of view. Armenian stylistic thought has been developing for more than half a century. Theoretical monographs, various articles have been written, and it is time to show a clear analytical attitude. Especially if we take into account the rapid development of stylistics and speech culture, then, we think, it is necessary to bring together the existing ones with certain assessments. Scientists examine phonetic, lexical, and grammatical stylistics separately. These fields are developing very quickly. It is necessary to constantly follow the achievements of world linguistics. Armenian stylistic thought should reflect the high level of global science of the time. Apart from this, it is important to present the history of our stylistic thought. The article presents the history of grammatical stylistics (from the 1950s to the present day). Grammatical stylistics studies the stylistic possibilities of grammatical structures. The groups of morphological and syntactical stylistics are distinguished, each of which has an expression uniqueness. We have studied the works written morphological, syntactical stylistics, analyzed the provisions in various researches. The methodological basis is the combination and analysis of existing theoretical provisions.

Abstract:
Political discourse is a recent but increasingly exciting field of study. The political discourse offers much scope for interdisciplinary research. This current study is a stylistic analysis of the Inaugural speech delivered by Nigerian President Muhammadu Bukhari in Abuja on 29th May 2015. The current study aims to signify the role of Stylistics in CDA to unleash socio-political cognition in speeches. This qualitative research owing to its interdisciplinary nature draws on stylistics and critical discourse analysis as well. Teun A. Van Dijk's socio-cognitive approach is used to analyze the mental models underlying linguistic structures made explicit through stylistic analysis. The stylistic analysis is conducted on lexical and grammatical levels, but cohesion and speech acts have also been highlighted in the findings and discussion part. The study explores how stylistic devices are used to create a rhetorical effect and how this effect qualifies for being persuasive. The stylistic analysis reconnoiters the linguistic patterns, and CDA leads to the ideologies that shape these patterns. This study strengthens the belief that both stylistics and critical discourse analysis have great scope and power in revealing discursive practices of hegemony and persuasion.

Farah, one of the western provinces of Afghanistan, has been home to renowned poets and writers such as Abu Nasr Farahi, Muin al-Din Farahi, and Barkhordar-e-Farahi. whose work has not received sufficient attention and research in Afghanistan. Among them, Mirza Barkhordar-e-Farahi, a writer from the Safavid era, stands out, and his famous work” Mahbob-ul-Qulob” or "Beloved of Hearts" contains beautiful and heart-touching stories that hold special significance. As this book has not received much attention, this research aims to analyze its stylistic elements from a layered stylistic perspective. Layered stylistic analysis is one of the most comprehensive methods for the practical and applied analysis of textual styles. The main question addressed in this research is how to identify the stylistic components present in different layers of stylistics in the book " Mahbob-ul-Qulob "? The primary goal of this research is to identify the stylistic components of " Mahbob-ul-Qulob " using layered stylistic analysis, thereby determining the most prevalent stylistic elements in the text. The methodology employed in writing this article is based on the content analysis of the book " Mahbob-ul-Qulob " and the functional role of words within the text. This study was library-based research. The findings indicate that despite its unique narrative aspect, Mahbob-ul-Qulob’s book encompasses all stylistic components in various layers of stylistics, making it significant from a stylistic analysis perspective.

Most studies in stylistics have concentrated on one language at a time, even if the texts were translations. On the other hand, much of translational stylistics has been concerned either with identifying translators’ individual styles or limited itself to situational variation. In this article I briefly examine how the usual techniques of stylistic analysis apply to a bilingual corpus, and propose the concept of “frame” as a methodological aid for bounding the textual context in which stylistic match should be attained.

Abstract:
The new century has witnessed the fast development of both ‘traditional Chinese stylistics’ and ‘westernized stylistics’ in China. This article points out that the term ‘style’ (‘ wenti’) has drastically different senses in the two different analytical contexts, and that the two stylistic approaches have very different concerns. With this distinction and clarification paving the way, this article goes on to review the development of ‘westernized stylistics’ in China in the new century, focusing on functional stylistics, cognitive stylistics, pragmastylistics, corpus stylistics and pedagogical stylistics. In China, westernized stylistic research is often carried out in connection with interlingual translation, either to shed new light on the stylistic choices through interlingual contrast, or to provide a new way for translation criticism. The fast development of westernized stylistics in China has to do with the EFL context, where it has attracted a large number of practitioners in the English department. Moreover, the thriving development of westernized stylistics in China in the new century testifies to the increasing international remit Language and Literature and PALA have achieved since more modest beginnings in the UK in the 1980s and 1990s.

Abstract:
The article considers various peculiarities of implementing stylistic devices (metaphor, gradation, personification, contrast) in the advertising poly-code media text that, in its turn, serves as the object of the research. The research proves that the realization of stylistic devices can be actualized not only on the basis of the close correlation of iconic and verbal components (integration or extension relationships), but also within the structure of the iconic component independently and without any verbal elements. The author searches out that the notion of the stylistic device can be expanded and go beyond the boundaries of text and discourse. This fact outlines and stresses the high stylistic potential of the iconic component in the structure of the advertising media text and gives reasons for the development of visual stylistics that can be considered to be a new branch of stylistics in general.

Abstract:
Abstract Developmental stylistics, a sub-discipline of stylistics, studies the development of and changes in stylistic competence during a speaker’s life. This developmental perspective is under-used in stylistic research. The article summarises current definitions of developmental stylistics and proposes a set of new and complex parameters for a discipline that studies stylistic competence at all stages of life, in both production and reception, and in typical and less typical contexts. It discusses the main factors which make ‘developmental’ research within stylistics problematic, and which may contribute to the fragmented nature of the discipline. The wide range of topics within developmental research often calls for an interdisciplinary approach. The great variability in the way speakers communicate and interact with one another, the limited capacity to make generalisations from the research, and the analysis of various types of ‘imperfect’ language all present significant methodological challenges.

Abstract:
The article discusses problems of lexicographic stylistics, such as the necessity of reflecting speech phenomena as language ones, the limitations of the lexicographer’s tools for choosing a particular stylistic mark, as well as the diffusion, subjectivity, and inconsistency of criteria for stylistic marks. When making decisions about the stylistic properties of a lexical unit, lexicographers may be guided by the following: 1) the tradition established by authoritative predecessor dictionaries; 2) their ownlanguage intuition; 3) formal indicators of stylistic membership (e.g., stylistically colored suffixes); 4) citation materials. Each of these instruments has its own drawbacks and limitations. The paper analyzes controversial cases of stylistic qualification of words in academic explanatory dictionaries, starting from the “Explanatory Dictionary of the Russian Language” edited by D. N. Ushakov, which are associated with both the underdevelopment of stylistic theory for lexicographic practice and the objective complexity of formalizing stylistic categories (using the example of words: koldobina‘pothole’, razdevalka‘changing room’, razdeval'nya‘undressing room’, otmyvaniye deneg‘laundering (of money)’).

Stylistic Features of Metonymy in English and Azerbaijani Languages Summary This article is devoted to the study of the stylistic features of metonymy in English and Azerbaijani. Theoretical materials and literary texts from linguistics in both English and Azerbaijani are used to provide a basis for comparison. The similarities between metonymic models in both languages allow us to conclude that their stylistic formations and functions within the language of literary texts are similar. They often coincide completely. The stylistic weight of metonymy serves as an indicator of an author’s unique style, as it makes the language in fiction texts imaginative and aesthetically pleasing. AbstractThe article deals with the concept of interactive stylistics and sociostylistics as one of its subdisciplines. The interactive stylistics is explained as a transdisciplinary field of knowledge. In a way, the article is also a reaction to the stylistic views of Ján Bosák from the 1990s. The concept of interactive stylistics is incorporated in the trends of the Slovak stylistics in the 21st century. The article explains the crucial terms: interaction, communication, style, stylistic/style quality, styleme, axiological competence, principles that conduct, coordinate and control the process of stylization. Style is defined as the mode of verbal interaction which in a specific communication act acquires the qualitative value. It has a processual character. Styleme is a cognitive-pragmatic unit of the stylistic/style quality defined by its content, the inner and outer form and function. The paper presents a division of the theoretical stylistics into its subdisciplines and their research fields. Sociostylistics is divided into macro- and microsociostylistics. The concepts of macrosocial and microsocial communication registers and stratification of Slovak language are explained as the key concepts, which, stylistically understood, are the main areas of interest of sociostylistics.

Abstract:
The article deals with the study of stylistic techniques and means of expression characteristic of English speech expression, the study of means and methods of communication of independent sentences, as well as phrasal units, ways to combine them into fragments and whole speech texts. The paper identifies and generalizes scientific approaches to the study of stylistic syntax techniques, analyzes syntactic constructions that have expressive potential and pragmatic orientation. It is established that the subject of syntactic stylistics is also the study of the specifics of the functioning of expressive means and techniques in complex linguistic texts. It is found that the stylistic technique is realized, as a rule, in the context of phrasal units, paragraph and whole text, and the interaction of sentence models in these contexts gives emotional and expressive meaning to the segments of speech that they form. Thus, stylistic devices based on formal and semantic interactions of several syntactic constructions or sentences in a particular context, is one of the richest sources of speech expression. These stylistic devices serve as a means of poetic syntax, and are widely used in fiction, journalism and are found in scientific language. Despite the fact that each stylistic device individually contributes to the overall expressiveness of the text, a greater effect is achieved through their interaction, and with the help of these stylistic devices, contact with the addressee is established, the emotional background and emphaticity of the text are enhanced. Therefore, expressive means and stylistic techniques of syntax, which are created both with the use of stylistically marked constructions and without their participation, are one of the richest means of stylistics of the English language. The considered cases of violation of the usual logic of syntactic connection of parts of a complex sentence, semantic differences between their usual and occasional use bring subjective motives into the text and are used with certain stylistic purposes, which due to functioning together have a greater effect.

The inclusive style is a pillar of stylistics that aims to meet the communication needs of civil society of the 21st century. I integrate considerations on the way to inclusive stylistics (as a subset of interactional stylistics) in the spirit of the cognitive pluralism of the time (Gajda 2022, p. 8) as my contribution to the plurality of stylistic considerations in the name of unity in the diversity of the discipline. His reasoning on certain stylistic issues is recorded in such scientifi c investigations as «The Science of Native Language Duties», «Ukrainian Literary Language History», «Our Literary Language: How to Write and Speak in Literature», «Grammatical and Stylistic Dictionary of Shevchenko’s Language» etc.ºíêàThe purpose of our article is to determine Ivan Ohiienko’s contribution to the development of Ukrainian Language Lexical Stylistics.Among the stylistic concepts, the concepts of lexical stylistics are clearly dis-tinguished. I. Ohiienko payed attention to the stylistic load of synonyms, archaisms, neologisms, dialectisms, terms, borrowed words, vulgarisms, provincialisms, etc.The linguist argued for the need to use archaisms in the artistic style to give the text artistry, a description of a bygone era, the archaic coloring of the speech of the characters, providing teaching pathos and more. I. Ohiienko considered it appropriate to use old slavonic in the confessional style. The stylistic use of «local language» (dialectisms) is limited to the conscious use in the characters’ language, and in works of regional purpose. Unacceptable dialect words in the scientifi c style.I. Ohiienko singled out specifi c features of the use of foreign languages: in the presence of Ukrainian words-equivalents to replace borrowing; to refuse frivolous use of foreign words; do not use tracing words; in journalistic style unknown to the general public to explain other languages. The scientist was fi rmly convinced that the use of foreign words does not contribute not only to Ukrainian language development, but also to spiritual culture development in general.According to I. Ohiienko, synonyms should not only be known, but also felt, in particu-lar, the correct use of stylistic synonyms, which diff er in relation to diff erent functional styles. Thus, I. Abstract:
This study is based on corpus-stylistic techniques and measures the concept of lexical luxury being considered as a stylistic marker in literary work represented by Scott Fitzgerald's novels. This study aims to investigate the feasibility of measuring lexical luxury using corpus-based methodologies and techniques. It looks at how lexical luxury is used as a stylistic marker in literary works. The study hypothesizes that corpus stylistics frames a rather reliable source of verifying the validity of controversial issues about lexical luxury measurements; Type/Token Ratio is a measure that can efficiently determine the size of the lexical luxury when an analyst analyzes a text; the high percentages of lexical luxury are based on the high concentrations of lexical items resulting in a denser lexicality. The corpus in this study is designed and compiled on the principles of corpus linguistics as well as corpus stylistics, then, processed via WordjSmith Tools (8.0) to get the tokens; types, and word frequencies. The lexical items and function words are analyzed using Ure's method, then percentages of lexical luxury are obtained. The percentages represent lexical luxury profiles for each novel. After that, the whole statistical output is graphically plotted using Microsoft Office Excel. This study found that corpus-based stylistic studies have proven to be effective in exploring specific aspects of style. However, corpus stylistics makes significant use of statistical descriptions offered by trustworthy and authentic measures such as Type/Token Ratio.

Abstract:
Analysis of the stylistics features of any author has been very interesting technique to explore themes depicted by him/her. This paper examines a short story of Alice Munro titled ‘The Eye’, from stylistic perspective. ‘The Eye’ is the opening tale of the set of four stories, in a style of memoir that is titled as ‘Finale’. This set of four stories appears in her collection of short stories titled “Dear Life” (2012. ) The paper presents the stylistics analysis of the story keeping the stylistic approach in focus suggested by Leech and Short in Style in Style in Fiction (2007). The story is analyzed stylistically in terms of character and characterization, point of view and speech, thought and writing presentation. Stylistic study of any text effectively provides comprehension of the base of the text particularly and its evaluation generally (Peer 2008). In order to carry this out, the method of textual analysis of Qualitative research approach is conducted. The end of the analysis is to have a turnout of a deeper comprehension of the relationship between style and literary aesthetics in ‘The Eye’ by studying the stylistic patterns behind Munro’s narrative, in order to find out her creative approach. Paul Simpson maintains, “Stylistics serves to inquire into the language of the text and on a broader level to investigate creativity in the use of language (2004:3). The endeavor made in the paper explores that Munro has an ambivalent and complicated technique of presentation, both structurally and thematically. Here, the argument is that the stylistic analysis of the story reveals that Munro has high artistic approach towards the short story; she narrates the fiction with such an ambiguous approach that it welcomes more than one interpretations of the story.

Abstract:
Bullying is one of the most common problems that generate vigorous arguments in the community. It is widespread in all societies, especially among children and adolescents in schools. The present study investigates the concept of bullying in the American novel ‘Wonder’ by R. J. Palacio from a critical stylistic perspective. The importance of the study resides for every ordinary reader to be aware of the strategies used in bullying others. It also might be of value to scholars of sociology, critical stylistics, critical discourse studies, psychologists, and any scholar interested in the discourse of bullying. The current study is expected to answer the following question : What is the most common type of bullying and the critical stylistic tools that bullies use to convey the concept of bullying in the analyzed data? The study aims at distinguishing the most common types of Bullying that bullies use in the selected novel and also identifying the critical stylistic tools that are employed by the bullies. The researchers adopt Jeffries’s (2010) critical stylistics modal to analyze the data under scrutiny. The study reveals that the most common form of bullying found is direct emotional bullying which is experienced by Julian and his schoolmates against the victim. Only eight stylistic tools are found in the five extracts through certain realizations related to the specific contexts in which they are initiated. The study concludes that the notion of bullying is represented through using most stylistic tools but with different ideologies.

Abstract:
Advertisements fulfil a significant role in social life by directing and guiding consumer actions and practices and shaping cultural norms. They not only support products and services but also reproduce and strengthen societal standards and norms. This paper explores the functionality of songs used in advertising within the field of cognitive stylistics. This field of research offers useful information into how cognitive processes and linguistic choices interact to form the interpretation and influence of discourses. The research questions are: (1) How do cognitive stylistic features enhance the influence of songs on advertising? (2) How do cognitive stylistic features shape customers' attitudes and behaviours? To examine the research questions, this paper uses a qualitative analysis method. The data is made up of a song used in advertisements, which will be investigated to detect cognitive stylistic elements and their influence on consumer viewpoints and behaviors. We hypothesize, through applying the mixed cognitive stylistics model, that the manifestation of cognitive stylistic aspects in songs enriches their functionality in grasping and captivating the intended audience. The findings have themes for advertisers, offering perspectives on how to successfully interact with their target audience through songs and how to evaluate the effectiveness of their advertising efforts.
