The aim of this study was to carry out a superficial characterization on part of the watershed of Muricizal river, in Tocantins, from estimates based on given climatic and morphometric parameters. The river basin studied here comprises an area from the monitoring station of River Muricizal, at Muricilândia pluviometric station in Tocantins state code ANA 28150000 (- 7°08’43’’ and – 48°36’37’’, altitude 193m). The pluviometric stations were: code 748002, municipality of Nova Olinda - TO, 748003 municipality of Muricilândia – TO, and code 749000 municipality of Arapoema - TO. The basin under stu

A new methodology to optimize regionalized wastewater treatment systems is presented. The approach, developed for the River Ave basin, relies upon a clustering analysis algorithm to identify independent sub-sets of polluting sources within the basin. Then for each cluster, heuristic methods are used to generate a network representing the most promising configurations for the regional system, auxiliary models are applied to estimate detailed costs, and a k-shortest path algorithm is used to specify the configurations minimizing cost while achieving a pre-defined efficiency level. Multifractal theory provides a reliable method for the scientific quantification of the geomorphological features of basins. However, most of the existing research has investigated small and medium-sized basins rather than complex and large basins. In this study, the Yellow River Basin and its sub-basins were selected as the research areas, and the generalized fractal dimension and multifractal spectrum were computed and analyzed with a multifractal technique based on the slope distribution probability. The results showed that the Yellow River Basin and its sub-basins exhibit clear multifracta

This paper used GIS spatial analysis and data processing technologies and multi-source data fusion technology to spatialize the population data of Meijiang river basin. Land use was selected as the index factor and the settlements as the indicative factor. Selected terrain, roads and rivers were the main influencing factors and were further classified into several sub-factors. During the simulation, we first calculated the weight indexes of sub-factors on the settlements distribution and then fused the indexes to calculate the weight indexes of the main factors. Second we calculated the weight

Tarim basin, which located in north-west of China, is a very important zone both on ecology and economy. How much discharge could it produce has significant importance to the residents' life and the progress of this region. Beside of rainfall, the glaciers that existed plentifully in the upstreams have a great role in this basin which due to the very quantity of snow-melt. In this study, we choose Akesu river that belongs to this basin to be object. The WASMOD hydrologic model used in this program has both snow-melt and rainfall modules with eight sub-models. Mongolia’s Selenga sub-basin of the Lake Baikal basin is spatially extensive, with pronounced environmental gradients driven primarily by precipitation and air temperature on broad scales. Therefore, it is an ideal region to examine the dynamics of the climate and the hydrological system. This study investigated the annual precipitation, air temperature, and river discharge variability at five selected stations of the sub-basin by using Mann-Kendall (MK), Innovative trend analysis method (ITAM), and Sen’s slope estimator test. The result showed that the trend of annual precipitation was slight
