Revealing the regional distribution and diversity of fungal sub-communities under different land management practices is essential to conserve biodiversity and predict microbial change trends. In this study, a total of 19 tilled and 25 untilled soil samples across different land-use types were collected from subtropical China to investigate the differences between the spatial distribution patterns, diversity, and community assembly of fungal sub-communities using high-throughput sequencing technology. In recent years, several actors at the sub-national level (e.g. California, British Columbia, New York City) have taken unilateral steps to mitigate climate change by reducing their emissions. These developments have commanded considerable attention in the empirical literature. In this piece, we consider the philosophical dimensions of climate action at the sub-national level. Specifically, we argue that climate action at the sub-national level is an instance of a more general class of cases in which the failure of some collective agent to discharge some duty to which it is subject entails dut

In three selected stands, representing various communities, the weed spatial structure is similar, differing only in the floristic composition of segetal plants constituting given phytocoenoses. Urbanisation is a global phenomenon that is changing the face of the Earth, as well as how people earn a living and secure their livelihoods. In 2006 the number of urban people in the world surpassed the number of rural people, and this gap will continue to grow. In only 16 years (by 2030) just under two-thirds of the world's people will be urban dwellers. With the rapid scale up of testing and treatment for HIV, morbidity and mortality in sub-Saharan Africa have decreased dramatically. This thesis investigates why care programmes in sub-Saharan Africa do not succeed in achieving the full potential effects of ART - on both the risk of death and of onward transmission - and what can be done about it. The world is heating up even quicker than expected. Temperature records continue to be broken in 2024, with droughts, wildfires and extreme heat affecting more vulnerable people and communities around the world. For example, in sub-Saharan Africa, just 3% of farmers are insured, and only one in every 10 people has any form of insurance in 36 low-income countries covered by the forthcoming Landscape of Microinsurance.

Renewable mini-grids are a promising technology to electrify remote communities with a substantial productive demand, mainly from agro-processing. Mini-grids have experienced fast growth and there are now around 2,200 systems in the sub-Saharan Africa region. However, their economic case in the sub-continent is unclear.
