Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) require Ni-rich cathode material with a high capacity to meet the growing demand for powering electric vehicles and other energy-dense devices. However, significant challenges remain to improve capacity retention during cycling and thermal-abuse tolerance of this material. Alternative to the traditional polycrystalline Ni-rich cathode material, we report here a monocrystalline Ni-rich cathode material prepared via a hydrothermal process. Ni-rich composition (LiNi0.96Mn0.02Co0.02O2) was selected for comparative evaluation of polycrystalline cathode material via a co

The oxidative ethylbenzene dehydrogenation to styrene with CO2 has been studied using various catalysts to enhance its activity and stability. The type of V2O5-Fe2O3/Al2O3-TiO2 catalyst is studied to fit for this process. It is found that different TiO2 loadings can lead to the activity difference. Compared with the results happened in N2 atmosphere, both activity and selectivity were lower than that in the CO2. Hence, CO2 was chosen as a soft oxidant by improving activity and selectivity in the process of oxidative ethylbenzene dehydrogenation to styrene with CO2 over the investigated catalys

Maturity models represent a feasible approach towards assessing business processes and identifying their potential improvements. Specifically, the Process and Enterprise Maturity Model (PEMM) has attracted much attention since its publication in 2007. However, few studies have explored its practical applicability. The large size of some business processes suggests that assessing their maturity at a sub-process level can help to uncover hidden inefficiencies and understand more accurately existing complexities. This paper therefore aims to examine the degree of applicability of the PEMM to an i

Since then there have been various studies on alternative disinfectants that could inactivate microorganisms and at the same time form less or no disinfection by-products. Abstract:
A low-order discrete dynamical system (DDS) for finite-rate chemistry of H2-air combustion is derived in 3D. Fourier series with a single wavevector are employed to represent dependent variables of subgrid-scale (SGS) behaviors for applications to large-eddy simulation (LES). A Galerkin approximation is applied to the governing equations for comprising the DDS. Regime maps are employed to aid qualitative determination of useful values for bifurcation parameters of the DDS.
