Abstract:
The research began with a geological and structural survey of the Triassic subvolcanic bodies cropping out in the area of Montecampione (Val Camonica-BS, Italy). This study allowed the determination of the main phases of intrusion of these bodies, and new and significant sampling of the magmatic rocks in order to reconstruct the geodynamic framework based on high quality geochemical analyses. These intrusive bodies, belonging to the «Montecampione group», show a minimum volume of about 1 km3 and could represent a shallow (about 1000 m) magmatic reservoir producing a volcanic area, since we rec

Abstract A positive gravity anomaly was observed in the Flysch belt realm. Based on this fact and available geological knowledge we suppose that the source of gravity anomaly might be carbonate rocks lying perhaps in the footwall of Flysch sediments. The carbonates belong perhaps to the Penninic crust cover (a part of Klippen belt), or to lower structural stage of the Flysch belt. Besides this it is interpreted more volume of Neogene subvolcanic bodies in the frame of the Flysch belt based on the results of the newest magnetic measurements in the NE part of Slovakia (Kucharič et. al., in press

By the beginning of the 20th century, at least ten different generations of intrusive mafic bodies 1800–900 Ma were distinguished on the territory of the Anabar massif. The first modern age estimates, however, indicate the formation of the bulk of these bodies in a relatively short period of time ~1480–1500 Ma. Based on geochronological and paleomagnetic data, intrusive bodies with this age were combined into the Kuonamka large igneous province (LIP). However, a complex of paleomagnetic studies indicated the probable existence of at least two pulses of magmatic activity during the formation of

The ore specialization of mineral manifestations associated with igneous rocks depends on the formation affiliation of the latter, since specific igneous formations are characterized by a certain type of metallogeny. Therefore, the identification of the formation affiliation of igneous rocks of the Kondakov tectonic uplift (KTU) makes it possible to assess metallogenic specialization and make a forecast of mineralization. For this purpose, geological mapping data and the results of prospecting works, 145 chemical analyses of igneous rocks were used. The identification of magmatic bodies was ca

Abstract Ultramafic-mafic layered complexes are important but not-well studied components of Archaean granitoid-greenstone terranes. In the vicinity of the Barberton Greenstone Belt (BGB), at least 27 such complexes are intimately associated with the supracrustal succession. The petrogenesis of one of these layered bodies, the Stolzburg Complex (SC), is explored, together with its relationship to the surrounding Barberton volcanic succession. Previous models for the origin of Barberton layered complexes proposed a variety of mechanisms, such as single chamber subvolcanic sills, ponded lavas, and

ABSTRACTPipe-shaped breccia bodies associated with diorite intrusions are composed mainly of angular clasts of local schists with a few transported clasts of quartzite. Plate shaped fragments are commonly oriented to define planar fabrics in the breccias. These features indicate the operation of gas fluidisation within the pipes and both entrainment and expanded bed conditions are inferred. The fabrics result from the collapse of the fluidised suspensions as the gas flow declined. The article is devoted to characteristics of the Snezhninka gold deposit in the Urkinsky ore-placer cluster of the Amur gold-bearing province. It presents information on the structural-geological position and geological features of the deposit, regularities of distribution of the ore bodies, and the ore composition. The ore bodies are represented by zones of quartz-veinlet silicification and, more rarely, by carbonate-quartz veins among beresitized granites. The ore minerals, comprising no more than a few percent of the ore volume, are represented by pyrite, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, galena,

The Mesta volcanic massif (SW Bulgaria) belongs to the Macedonian-Rhodope-North Aegean Magmatic Zone. It crops out along the middle course of Mesta River and covers about 200 km2 of the homonymous graben. The bаsеmеnt of Mesta graben and the neighbouring elevated blocks of Pirin and Western Rhodope mountains are composed of high-grade metamorphics, hosting granitoidic plutons of diverse ages, including the Paleogene Central Pirin and Teshevo plutons. Apart from the volcanic bodies, the graben-fill consists of complexly interfingered Paleogene stratified continental terrigenous sedimentary rock
