El objetivo del artículo es analizar la presencia y productividad de los sufijos apreciativos del quechua sureño: diminutivos, aumentativos y despectivo. En principio, encontramos tres sufijos aumentativos: –sapa –karay y –chikan y un nombre –siki, en función de sufijo que puede hacer de despectivo. Para los diminutivos, tenemos dos: –cha y –lla y la combinación: aumentativo –sapa más diminutivo. El presente trabajo investiga la traducción al español de los adverbios acabados en –ly en el original inglés de Pet Sematary.Para nuestra investigación hemos examinado dos parámetros que pueden ayudarnos a investigar las diferentes maneras de traducir los adverbios: Uno de qué tipo de unidad sintáctica modifica el adverbio y otro de en qué género de texto se encuentra el adverbio.Menos de un cuarto (24%) de los adverbios con el sufijo-ly se han traducido a un adverbio de -mente en español.
